I absolutely love this comic store! They have so many selections and they also have a good selection of manga. The staff is so friendly! If I want to get a comic book that they don’t have in the store they end up ordering it for me without me having to buy it first and they call me once the book arrives at the store. The books are also in perfect condition, the pages are super crisp and the layout of the store is amazing cause I get so excited when I turn my head and find more books I didn’t think to grab. The downstairs is all discounted comic books and they have so many to choose from. Highly recommend this store! Support your local comic book store

Great shop! Look I’ll be straight and too the point. The dude that was working was crazy knowledgeable and really enjoyed talking about story arcs. The big take away was the inclusiveness. There was ZERO elitism that you find in many shops. They loved comics and enjoyed talking about them. As the crew worked with a lady who was buying for her son they were taking great interest in good art and story without breaching any sort of age restrictions. That is a mark of true professionals. That is for getting me up to code on Y the last man and continue operating a great shop.

While it is not large by standards, this little comic book store in Silver Spring is worth visiting. Alliances selection is nice and broad, but this store doesnt have my favorite comics from my childhood, such as Asterix, Lucky Luke, and The Smurfs. The basement area is home to used comics and figurines, which I really like the most! So if you have time, stop by, say hello to the staff, and enjoy reading (and browsing)!

A solid comic book store that has everything dialed in. Great selection of new books and a fairly decent selection of back issues. A ton of other comic related merchandise, too. Owners and staff are very friendly.

Not as much in the way of memorabilia is I was hoping, but a fine selection of comics for a little store. You can definitely get what youre looking for if its recent here. Nice location. Theres a basement below and has lots of $1 clearance comics.

I recently visited Alliance comics whilst on family holiday in Washington. Will was really helpful, the selection of books is overwhelming. Right up to date but also including complete sets of classics. Then he mentioned the half price basement , we were there about two and a half hours in total. Wakeen pointed out some hidden gems. I was very happy overall . Hope to visit again . Thanks.

Went here with a friend and I did not know this place existed! They are very small and I was not expecting much but to my surprise they have a pretty good selection. They also have a downstairs, that gave me and my friend an eerie feeling but it wasnt at all bad! Made us feel like we were in a movie, sadly we didnt buy anything but it is worth checking out!

Alliance is a great local comic book Shop with a discount room and full year back stock great policies and decent prices. Good shop talk. Its not the brightest lit or fanciest but it is great and walkable. Some things Ill pick up from big Planet but this is my go to

I first visited this store on Labor Day 2018 - it was customer appreciation day and they had hundreds of comics on the basement level for $1. I was able to get comics that were printed in 1952, 1977 and 1980 for $1 as well as independently released comics I was introduced to for the first time for $1. This was a great way to get someone like me, into comics as I never had a previous interest in this form of storytelling before! This store has a WIDE variety of merchandise, graphic novels and is full of knowledgable and helpful staff.

Comics are more my partner’s cup of tea, but Alliance has engaging staff, up to date releases, and even children’s fantasy books to grab your little one’s attention while you shop. Looking for something released sometime ago? Check out the basement. Most of all, ask the folks behind the counter if they’ve seen the latest super hero or fantasy movie and watch the shop turn into an At the Movies review!

Love this place! I can do there and spend HOURS on the downstairs section checking the comic books they sell for just a dollar. YES, you can get comic for just a buck each, and there are a LOT of them to go through. Upstairs they have all the current runs, they also sell comic book bins, bags and boards, comics and anime for children, action figures, funko pops and even board games!It may not look like a huge store, but there are so many goodies to buy, I never leave there empty handed!!

Aliance comics is a great place to come to, for your comic needs and for the people. The staff definitly love what they do and are very knowledgeable in it. I feel like silver spring doesnt have enough hidden gems, but this is definitly one that I hope never goes.

I am a recovering comic book collector... being in Alliance comics its like being a little kid in a candy shop so you know Im going back! LOL! Alas the pics are not from my Alliance experience. I was too enthralled and enjoying the moment to think about taking pics. However, as you can C I do enjoy my comics!

Been shopping here for since it was still Geppis in the very early eighties and always will. The only downside is the customer service sometimes. Plus only will be given s shopping bag by some clerks and other times will not be given a shopping bag. Do like their sale items but just not feeling the customer service there.

Alliance Comics is one of the mainstays in the DC comic book scene. While the store has changed hands a few times it has been open for as long as I can remember and was once a Geppis Comics World.The space seems small when you walk in but they do a good job keeping the current issues stocked with back issues downstairs. The staff here, in comparison to some local shops, are actually pleasant and up beat.

This place is awesome! I can always find great deals on graphic novels and comics. This place also has variety ranging from Japanese manga to children comics. There is other types of merchandise as well like T-shirts, posters and action figures.

Great staff! All of them were friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. The owner was very nice and donated to charity. And to top it off they hold a great Free Comic Book Day and have an extensive selection. I plan on taking my niece when she comes to visit. We may have lost the Borders, but weve kept this gem. :)

Good deals on graphic novels in the basement. Dont waste your time on $1 comics as they are mostly independent non popular titles. I made a purchase, but the staff was so engulfed in their comic debate. I was neither greeted or thanked coming and going or even after my purchase. Customer service is a skill you need if you want to prosper your business. I visited 5 stores today in MD and this was the only store that did not greet me when I walked in, asked if I needed help, or thanked me for my purchase. A simple Hello or thank you goes a long way with your customers. Debating titles and artists with locals may be fun but you need to sell stuff and pay rent too.

Really bright, clean, and friendly comic shop. My ideas of the sweaty, musty comic shop have been shattered. This place is great. Knowledgeable staff, great selection of comics, graphic novels, collectibles, toys, tshirts, and everything else you expect from a top notch comic shop.I went in with no idea what I would like (hadnt read a comic since I was a kid) and the counter guy asked me a couple of questions and gave me a handful of great suggestions. I typically hate retail shops and do most of my purchases online, but this shop is different. If they had cool-aid Id be drinking it.

Alliance Comics has been my DMV comic shop of choice for many years. They have the widest selection of new and recent comics available. The staff is typically quite knowledgable of trends and stories in the comics as well as pop culture and local conventions. Growth areas include a staff that is consistently pleasant and a better Free Comic Book Day experience. These are two areas that smaller shops in the DMV excel in. However, Alliance still deserves five stars for excellence in all other areas, especially their frequent sales.
