Super impressed with the quality of services and product at Dusty Strings. I recommended DS to a friend who had set out to purchase his first quality steel string. Jed and Steve did not disappoint.Knowledgeable and friendly guys that gave my friend a wonderful, curated experience. Despite his original thinking that he wouldnt, he ended up buying his first guitar then and there. His brother from out of town was also there with us and as a long time player himself, was really impressed with the knowledge of the staff and the quality of the instruments available.I hadnt planned to buy Ill probably be back in 6 months to buy from them as well!

Had some really fun time here today at dusty strings. A huge range of musical instruments and the guitars are out of this world! Carrying ranges from the Taylors to the Collins. The ukuleles are also amazing. A colleague got a Romero collection, solid spruce top for les than $400. Awesome purchase!

This place is always a joy. Ive purchased 2 instruments from here now, one before covid and one after. Each time the staff is super knowledgeable, patient, and friendly - low pressure and they really make sure you get an instrument that youll be happy with. The atmosphere is really warm lovely, and I appreciate how much they take covid precautions seriously.

I dont give 5 stars very often, but Dusty Strings is wonderful. Ive had one of their harps for years and it continues to be amazing. Everytime I call with any questions, they answer the phone quickly and get me talking to the right person. My questions are always answered. Ive also ordered tools from them which work very well and have very detailed directions showing what to do. Dusty Strings is nice, knowledgeable and helpful.

I love Dusty Strings! Everyone here is so helpful, knowledgeable and super nice. I’ve visited from time to time to buy new guitar strings and try out some guitars. On my most recent visit, I brought in an old bow-back mandolin my grandpa left me and and they talked me through the repairs it would need and even looked it up to give me more information about when it was made, how much it was worth, etc.

I have been searching for a new tech for sometime now, and I had the BEST experience here. Adam, Patrick, Mike, and John all went out of their way on a very busy Saturday to take a look at my guitars and answer a bunch of questions I had about tune-ups. I will definitely be back here! Fantastic shop and staff.

Great Music Store - This side of the business is top notch.Music School is poorly run. Instructors missed over 60% of the lessons. The tipping point for me is when an instructor (Jason) was a no-show and expected me to pay for the time anyway. In his eyes, sometimes he doesnt show up and thats part of the business. The music school took no action beyond refunding my money and assigning a different instructor (David), who was also a no-show for the first lesson. The music school has no methods to hold the instructors accountable and no desire to support its students.I suggest looking elsewhere. Not worth the headache. If you do decide to take lessons here, don’t work with Jason or David.

Nice folks. I wasnt happy with my current ukulele so went to Dusty Strings to shop around. They actually adjusted my current ukulele for free to fix some if its problems without my asking, even though I was ready to buy a new one. I ended up buying a new ukulele anyway, but it shows that they take good care of people.

I travel around the US quite a bit. As an avid guitar player, there are certain places that I make an extra effort to visit. Dusty Strings caters more to the folk/bluegrass instrumentalist. Even if this is not your style, its worth taking a an hour or two to check out the store. Great staff and comfortable environs. Last time I was there (June 2015) I brought home an assortment of slides, finger picks, and instructional books. I love stopping by because I always feel welcomed here. And Im a jazz guitarist.

Very knowledgeable staff. We had a harp that they looked at for us. They gave us a price range to sell it at as they were not able to purchace it from us. We went back to get my daughter a soprano ukalalie she discovered she could not play it due to a medical condition. They refunded us the purchase price even though we had bought it 3 weeks prior.

Their Harp Selection is great. However, their Instruments arent always in tune for people to demo. Parking can be challenging as well. You will need to park north up the hill and walk about 3 blocks or so to get to this location. Keep this in mind if you are purchasing a harp.

Been to several music stores across the country, and Dusty Strings is probably my favorite music store. First, ALL of the staff are top notch, not your typical what can I sell to you or man that guitar looks good on you Second, (all Acoustic) the guitars range from solid lower end, to the absolute one of gems. Heres the big thing, as long as you dont have a buckle, or a zippered coat, or anything that may damage an instrument, Dusty Strings allows you to play all of the guitars, for any amount of time. Not once have a had a guilty feeling of not buying one. or after 4 hours of trying guitars, I left with 2 sets of strings and a slide. I thank them and they thank me every time I go in the store. Guitar Center, Dusty Strings is not.

Unassuming from the street, this place is a Seattle gem every string musician (except orchestra musicians) should visit.Repairs are done by highly qualified luthiers for guitar/banjo/uke/mandolins/dulcimers/harps and many other instruments. Great community resource! A friendly and knowledgeable staff are eager to help and find answers. More than a music store, Dusty Strings provides a place to buy a broad range of instruments, to take private lessons, to get in-house instrument repairs done by amazing luthiers, to watch a concert, to participate in community music activities, or even rent an instrument!
