I arrived shortly after 11:00 AM before realizing you have to order ahead. The exterior looks pretty strange - the windows are all covered with lace curtains - I understand were in a pandemic but I dont need to feel like Im patroning a sketchy massage parlor if I want to get take out food. Perhaps Dracula is hidden inside. Anyways, the soonest available pick up time was 11:45 (~45 min wait). We ordered two of the Kachapuri Adjarian and sausage slices. The Kachapuri is HUGE.. slightly bigger than a personal pizza.. enough to easily share. Its basically like a savory pizza with some Eastern European flair. Its expensive ($14) for what it is, but still good. The sausage was good too. Overall, I would eat here again - unique flavors for Seattle, but open those windows, the sun only kills vampires.

I have wanted to visit Dacha Diner ever since I heard the owners had bought the space and were going to serve Eastern European food. After they got off the ground, I heard so many great reviews about their food, and I just wanted to pile on by saying their Eastern European food is definitely some of the best I’ve had in the area. I visited on a Sunday in the late morning after having placed a pickup reservation on Tock. They were ready a few minutes after the appointment time and I appreciated how they explained and listed off all of the food that I was picking up. Although the ladies working were pretty busy that morning they were all still friendly. I brought the food home and everything I ordered was delicious, from the borsch, khachapuri, matzo ball soup, blintzes, and latkes. The borsch was bright and light tasting and great cold; the khachapuri with the krakowska sausage was rich with the farmers cheese and the crust was delicious. The matzo ball soup was schmaltzy but not cloyingly so, and in my opinion it’s the best matzo ball soup in Seattle. The blintzes were also amazing – the farmer’s cheese in the blintzes was tangy and tasty and the almost burnt outside actually lent a really nice nutty flavor to the dish. Finally the latkes were some of the best I’ve ever had too with a wonderful savory flavor. Even after trying many of their items, I need to go back to try even more of their offerings and hope to soon!

The service was friendly and inviting. I was acknowledged as soon as I walked in the door. The food was delicious and comforting. I had the Herring under a Fur Coat and a large borscht. It was very good. This is the first restaurant I’ve found in Seattle with a borscht comparable to one I’d find in the Russian area of Brooklyn,NY. The borscht was the main reason for my visit, but the Herring Under a Fur Coat was also equally delicious and refreshing. The restaurant’s ambience is warm. I recommend it for a date. It’s also casual enough to go with a friend for lunch.

Ordered a vodka flight, borscht, and matzo soup with a slice of rye and I can’t figure out which one was better. Vodka is always perfect but the food, the freshness, the little heart on the to go box made this place great. Sad I havnt been here before but I know I’ll be back to try everything else on the menu. Ordered via their website and had a set pick up time, which made it easy to plan around.

The two slices of bread that came with it were excellent.I want to try the other dishes but it will be hard not to just keep ordering this soup. It felt like a home cooked meal that just makes you feel warm and safe and loved. The place was clean and simple. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. It wasnt very busy when I came, a little after 8pm, and service was fast and efficient.Worth checking out.

I told my friend to order from here and I’d pay for it. It’s been on our radar for years after being mentioned in both local and National press.Food was given to her neatly packaged and hot!! 10/10 She absolutely RAVED. To pickup her sandwich, she arrived a little early but the online ordering notes that the pickup windows range about 15-minutes, so she was patient. She mentioned being impressed by the measures they’re taking to protect both customers and employees during the pandemic— she felt safe and like she could trust the masked person handling her food. Thanks Dacha! 10/10 She will be back!

This Jewish vegetarian got dinner(s) to go and yum. I got khachapuri, veggie matzo ball soup, and latkes. Everything was delicious but the khachapuri was to die for especially that tangy cheese they use. I have a recipe for khachapuri but Ill just go to Dacha Diner and toss the recipe. The soup was not too salty which can be a problem with veggie soup. The people I talked with were sweet.

The quality of the food was phenomenal and the staff was incredibly accommodating. I tried the herring under the fur coat, the katchapuri, the pelmeni, the latkes, and the matzo ball soup. The latkes were crispy and a bit salty but when eaten with the sour cream/apple sauce ended up being delicious. The katchapuri was great to share with friends and how can you go wrong with cheese, bread, and an egg yolk which was extremely rich and savory and one of the signature dishes. Highly recommend. The surprise star for me were the filled pelmeni and the matzo ball soup. Both felt like comfort foods that I would want to eat on a cold rainy day and were delicious. One of my favorite restaurants in capitol hill next to kedai mekan and a real gem of the neighborhood.

Ive never had such a phenomenal experience with Eastern European food in Seattle! I should have taken pictures but it looked so good that I forgot! We had brisket that literally couldnt be cut due to the fact that it was already so tender that we just pulled off perfect sized pieces. It was butter! I had to stop myself from drinking the juices off the plate. My husband poured it on my plate to avoid an embarrassing situation. They have a collection of traditional Russian food and Jewish food that has been prepared appropriately for anyone concerned. Matzoh soup, dumplings, the best custard (no eggs) ever. Their drinks are very traditional in flavor. The wait staff is attentive and fast. Im very very impressed and Im leaving very satisfied and happy with my experience. Food was wonderful. Worth the hype. Went with a small group of 5 & got dishes to share, so got a bite or two of each. We focused more on the East European fare. The service was fine, maybe a little short staffed. But given the timing, not an ia big issue. The place was on the cool side - several people kept their coats on.We were full but not stuffed at the end. Total food cost with tax & tip was $21 / person. I really enjoyed this place for my birthday dinner. I recommend the kachapuri. Each one is baked to order so there is a small wait time, but the time spent waiting was a small price to pay for such goodness. Its a relaxing space, with music selections I personally enjoyed. If youre black, dont waste your time going here because YOURE NEVER going to get your food. I came here for brunch last weekend, and yes they were a busy but I watched several people get their food before I did. My partner ordered a meal that took quite some time, I order the Blinske. He received his food quicker than expected. I waited about an hour for mine, watching people who came in after me get their food again and again. It is a familiar experience being ignored in white spaces and It was clear that the waitresses did not make me a priority in their mind to realize I had been waiting a long time, number still sitting on my table. I had two different waitresses approach me to say a mistake was made. That would make sense if I literally wasnt watching people who came in 20-30 minutes after me continue to receive the same dish. My fellow black people (what little of us are in this city), should you go eat a snack before hand. It will be lunchtime by the time you get your food. This establishment needs to check the unconscious bias within their staff.

The service here is abysmal. Weve visited twice, the first time during opening month and that didnt go so well. I figured the kinks would have been worked out by now - looks like I was wrong. When we came in today, we wanted take out but the restaurant was only doing sit-in orders. So we took a table, then ordered soup and dumplings.A couple sat next to us and then left 15 minutes later, I really wish we had done the same. It took an hour for our simple order to arrive. No one came to update us on status, or refill our water. We were right by the walkway+stairs so the server had plenty of opportunity to stop by even once to say something. Im certain he saw me glaring at him (especially when handling food). At the hour mark, I stopped the server to ask about our food and he came back with our dumplings.I then tried to explain that no one had set our expectations on the wait time when we ordered, we did not want to wait an hour for soup and dumplings. What I got in return was a lot of excuses - what I wanted was empathy and a promise to make it right. Im sure it had been a rough night for the staff, but even feigning a little interest in my concerns would have gone a long way. It was that moment they had lost us as customers.Soon after that interaction, one of the chefs delivered our soup and explained that it had been a busy night and two employees were new. She offered to comp our order; we declined. It was too late, both the food and the service. We wont be returning and Ill advise my friends to stay away.
