Horchata Tres Leche! Not too sweet, not too heavy, and simply perfect. The cake to liquid to cream ratio was just right. Two people could share a slice, but there was no chance of me sharing this. I loved this cake!

I tried these cakes once... and I went back twice! Love them!! The slices are perfect for me because I love to try out different flavors + understand that theyre down to minimal staffing so while whole cakes may not be available at the moment its great to still be able to support a small local business!

I had not eaten true cake until the moment I bit into that traditional tres leches cake. Im a cake aficionado, and this cake is hands down my favorite cake ever. Its creamy yet light, sweet yet hearty, full-bodied yet melts in your mouth -- it is literally the best thing you could buy with your $7 in a 100 mile radius of the U District.I have eaten this cake for over 6 nights in a row and have not yet gotten tired of it. I dont think I ever will. If youre in the area and havent tried it, I strongly recommend you do. Ive already bought over 4 cakes for holiday gifting to various people because I personally loved it so much.I do not have a single negative or even neutral thing to say about this business. Plus, the one guy that runs it all is super chill, its always nice to drop in and say hi.

Literally the best of the best. My graduation cake AND my boyfriends surprise bday cake both came from Cubes and both were perfect. I told Kevin I wanted a skateboard cake for my boyfriend and it was better than I imagined. Definitely the talk of the party.

Overview:Great bakery to visit to satisfy that sweet tooth! The staff was friendly! Side note, I was a little confused when I first walked in since the interior doesnt feel like a typical bakery. Anyway, they have a few displays around so you can grab a tray and tong and grab whatever treats you desire!Food:The cubed conchas! This is where its at, Im a huge fan of conchas so naturally I had to try these when I saw them. I got the snickerdoodle and a yellow one (forgot the flavor) and both were delicious! Highly recommend coming here for these. We also ordered the mocha and horchata tres leches which were okay - the horchata one was kind of dry on top and mixing back in with the leche didnt bring back the right texture we wanted.

This is the kind of Tres Leches cake thats so good youll eat an entire piece of it when youre full.I bought some just because I was excited to find a local spot that offers Tres Leches cake, then made the mistake of deciding to try a bite when I was already full. Well, now the cakes all gone and Im sprawled out on the sofa having trouble breathing and leaving this 5-star review. For the record, it was the horchata Tres Leches cake that did me in. And also if I live through this, Id probably do it again anyway.If youre ever on death row and youre having a tough time deciding on that final meal of yours, think of this place at least for your dessert.

Cubes is the best! Ive had several of their desserts over the past year, but this past weekend was extra special as they provided the cupCubes for my wedding. We had the pumpkin guava empanada and churro flavors and our guests could not stop talking about how amazing they were! Kevin was awesome to work with, and Im already excited for the next time I get to stop by the shop.

They are perfect. I have tried other ones but are so sweet that make me teeth to hurt. This ones are just perfect!I also tried marranitos. Having a Mexican husband have gave me the opportunity to try different mexican bread. Marranitos here are great. Taste like the ones in Monterrey. So good!I also had the opportunity to try a carrot cake that a friend got for a birthday. It was great. Not too sweet neither. Everybody at the birthday party talked about it. Perfect to eat with coffee. Mmm yummy...

Wonderful cake place

We grabbed a slice of Horchata Tres Leches cake to go when we were in the area tonight. We devoured it even though we were full from dinner! Absolutely delicious and we will be back to try more flavors.

They really need to take down the photos of their cakes because they dont do that anymore as they have rebranded. Sad that they only sell single slices and just weird conversation that a whole cake is considered custom though you make the single slices of a whole cake.

Flavorful and a hearty serving size, this is the tres leches cake that I have been on the hunt for. Can’t wait to try out more flavors when I visit family in Seattle. Kevin did an amazing job on our 3 tier, cube wedding cake. He incorporated all my ideas for art deco designs and my preference for using exclusively buttercream even when it would have been easier to design in fondant. Great customer service, fabulous flavors, would highly recommend.

Wowowow! I ordered jars of the horchata flavor tres leches for my small backyard wedding! They were incredible! Literally the best wedding cake I’ve ever had. The jars were so cute, everyone loved them, and pickup/set up was super easy. Really lovely customer service too!

I cannot say enough good things about Cubes! Delicious baked goods and wonderful staff. We had the most delicious wedding cake years ago when they were just opening, and I try to use them for all our cake / special occasion needs. My favorites are their carrot cake (or carrot loaf to grab from the case), and all the Tres Leches (all are AMAZING - but Horchata is my favorite!).

Wow! Stumbled upon this bakery while in Wallingford doing this and that. The gentleman behind the counter was really nice as I threw a ton of questions at him. Been open for 4 months but have been making cakes forever. They had them displayed in the store and they were uniquely fun and interesting! Now to the cupcakes (or mini cakes)...super moist, appropriately sized and square. Brilliant! It is not all cake and then some icing. Carrot cupcake yum, my son had the cinnamon cupcake and he gave it a 10! They have Mexican pretzels (or bread) which we plan to grab during our next visit.

This place is amazing. If you like cake, and you know you do, you should come check this place out. Awesome. Tried a few samples and everything was fantastic, even thier cold brewed coffee.

Not only do they have the traditional flavor for tres leches but they also have many other flavors that will suit your taste, like dulce de leche, horchata, mocha, cheesecake, cookies and creme, matcha, coconut and more!Their other non-tres leches cake creations are incredible too! They sure hit the nostalgic nail on the head by making the cake version of iconic Hispanic foods with flavors like Duvalin, Gansitos, churros and cajeta.Dont know what to get? Get a sample box and try them all, I have! And they are delicious!

Haven’t been to the bakery yet but just watched you guys on Sugar Rush on Netflix! Just want to say you guys did an amazing job!

The jalapeno cheddar scone is literally to die for!!!! My mouth is drooling just thinking about it! Lol. The owners are amazing and super friendly and made me and my son feel so welcomed! I cant wait to go back soon!

Mexican pastry with a cute cube/square theme. They also sell cakes for events, and host the occasional Mexican themed party with food from friends of the owners. Theres drip coffee, they have house brewed beverages and other items like Mex Coke/Soda in a bottle. Finally, they also sell variable flavored tres leches and flan to go.

Excellent experience start to finish. We had a custom cake for my kids birthday. Beautifully designed, and most importantly, delicious cake!

My husband and I visited about a day ago because we saw them on Netflixs Sugar Rush, and we decided to try them since we live about 45 minutes away. We had a banana horchata, a cheesecake tres leches cake, an eggnog tres leches cake, and a slice of cake of the same recipe they used on the last round of Sugar Rush. I just have to say that everything was super delicious and my husband and I cant wait to go there again soon! Their cakes are so good!! The horchata is so good too!! Infact today my husband got an horchata from his favorite restaurant, which used to be the best tasting for him, and he said that the horchata from Cubes baking was by far the best he has had and I have to agree 100%. This place is seriously a must try!! Highly recommend!

Really like the Purple Suede cupcake. Wish theyd been around when we got married last year, some of the more elaborate decorated cakes on display are really unique and awesome.

Not the best representation of pan dulce. Bread is small and overpriced. Their was a very small selection and it all apearred old.They have a good concept but it has been badly executed.

Love their tres leches. Smooth, not too sweet, and good flavor. Traditional and horchata are our favorites. Their corn bread muffins are excellent too. The staff is always friendly and laid back. Kudos for using the Square payment credit card device correctly, letting it face out so contactless payments can be used easily.

Quiet little bakery with a cozy woody interior. The items are displayed beautifully and every one I have tried is soooo good! Tres leches Cake is fantastic( so many flavors including strawberry, traditional, coconut, almond, coffee and others. The corn muffins are moist and so delicious! Grab a tray when you enter and a pair of tongs to serve yourself. They will total it up and bad it for you at the register.

Food is good. There are definitely kinks to iron out (weird dine in experience, oily table, so dark, kind of a small selection, and meh display). Its also kind of expensive. Definitely do come through!

Best bakery in Seattle for sure. Perhaps the best bakery in the United States. There might be a better bakery in Italy but tickets are just too expensive: not worth it.What is really worth is going to Cubes Baking and trying the delicious tres leches: muy sabroso.

WOW! This place is delicious!!!! I was starving and needed something to tide me over, well luckily I pulled over to check my phone and Cube Bakery was just outside. Their cakes are beautiful but more importantly they have conchas and maranitos! It reminded me of old school pastelerías in Los Angeles, making me miss home! They also make tres leches and different flavored horchata. So happy I discovered this place and can’t wait to go back!

Very cool, unique vibe and concept. So many yummy sweets, but if you have to try one go with the tres leches: its authentic, tasty and comes in flavors like coffee, dulce de leche, and coconut. Yum! If you have room try a Purple Suede cupCube: you cant beat lavender and lemon zest!
