My pet peeve is not receiving what I have paid for.See photo.I had not even taken one sip yet.Opened the lid and said “this isn’t right”, two folks working just looked at me blinking blankly. I left.Two stars because although the coffee was not great, it was not one star horrible either —and the macaroon was good.This was my first visit to a Cafe Umbria. There’s too many better choices to stop in at a Cafe Umbria for a cup of anything again.

Cute and spacious coffee shop with unconventional coffee! They have ample indoor and outdoor seating and nice white cups. Enjoy a sunny day in Seattle and Lake Union views from this place.

This was my first time here,and I will definitely be back when I’m in the area. The coffee shop is beautifully designed,i really liked that fact of how clean everything was. I’m picky with my coffee since my family members are in the coffee industry and all I can say is that their coffee is perfectly roasted and the baristas did an amazing job making my latte! If you are in the area then definitely stop by. They also sell desserts and other snacks. They have their own roasted coffee for sale so you can have a delicious cup at home.

$5.25 for almond croissant is I guess normal for seattle but was really good and the latte was good.

The first thing I notice here are the flies. They are just buzzing around everywhere. It is really unappetizing to see flies around the pastries and around you when youre waiting to order/to pick up the food. I hope they can find a way to get rid of them inside....The only pastry here that has got my attention was the almond croissant. It was good. Was it $7 good? No. I only got it because I had a craving and I couldnt find it anywhere else at the time. The good pastries also gets sold out early in the day so be quick about it. The other pastries left are just not my cup of tea.Overall, cute place and nice local coffee shop. But Its kind of underwhelming.

Great coffee made into a very good Oat Honey Latte. The taste was wonderful, but it was a bit over sweet - especially at the bottom of the mug. Id probably go for a bolder drink next time. The chart would be great and I would buy beans here if I lived in the Seattle area. I hope to visit a Café Umbria again soon, alas I live in Alaska and that is not going to happen as soon as Id like.

One of my favorite coffee spots in South Lake Union! A great place to grab a coffee for a walk down by the lake. They’re one of the few places in Seattle to offer an Italian coffee experience. After having experienced the espresso bars in Italy, I can’t get enough of this place! They pull a really smooth espresso that will stand on its own!Their Free Drink Friday deal is great! Buy a bag of espresso beans and get a drink on the house!

The cashier was great. I went with a Deaf friend and she didn’t shy away from communicating with him directly in ASL. He said it was really meaningful to him 🤩 well done Cafe Umbria

I have been to this cafe several times and have always had excellent service. I will say that I never go at peak times (early morning), so I can’t speak to how things are then, but I’ve always had a very pleasant experience. Also, their drinks are wonderful. I particularly like the mocha piccante, which is just a bit different. Lastly, kind of a pet peeve of mine for other establishments…I stopped here once when I could not buy coffee (I can’t have caffeine late in the day) because I needed a bathroom. No one said a word, which to me is the sign of good service and thinking about longterm relationships.

Maya was our barista and she was great! Excellent customer service and good coffee. Definitely recommend it.

Good latte. Service has been hit or miss here- some of the baristas are great though! Limited latte flavors and pastries but the inside is nice.

Coffee with a heart-melting flavor! This was my first visit, and I can guarantee that they had my heart right away, even at that early hour. Im certainly going to save the phone number for this coffee shop for potential orders. Ill have to return because its a nice one. You would not be disappointed if you use their services. Awe-inspiring place!

Umbria makes my favorite coffee beans but today’s service was quite a disappointment.I ordered smallest cappuccino and noticed barista split espresso from the machine between two cups(one for me) and just splashed the rest of cup with milk. You can see from the photo how poorly it’s made. I’m not sure which proportions they have for small cappuccino cups(probably that’s how it should be) but it felt like I’m drinking 90% milk with 10% of espresso. Coffee tasted like from the Starbucks around the corner.

With Starbucks across the street, it’s hard to compete. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any food items on display, nor on the menu, so I went to the big chain across the street.This is the second time I came, but I wasn’t even acknowledged, neither time.Indoor seating was confusing. There was a section that looked closed, but it wasn’t marked off, just seating close together.There was outdoor seating when they were open, which is always a plus.

A welcome addition to Westlake, Cafe Umbria is a cool little coffee shop steps away from the lake on the corner of westlake ave and highland just a few blocks from Mercer.My Americano was smooth and pleasant with the right blend of that fresh roasted espresso flavor. The baristas nice and friendly and made my drink perfectly the way I like it! Cafe Umbria is gonna be a regular stop!

The newest location they just opened. They offer great service not to mention a Very Euro classy design interior. Staff very knowledgeable, provide a delicious cup of cappucino. They roast their own coffee and have other locations around the city. You can buy roasted coffee here. Average price for bag of coffee is $12.00 for Gusto Crema or Bizzarri. As well average cup of latte for $3.75 for 12 oz

Amazing coffee, baristas, and food items! Fresh and tasty. Theres cool merchandise too. Although they have seating both indoors and outdoors, when it gets busy its hard to find a table. They have short business hours so its a bit hard to go before or after work. Theres lots of parking around but I didnt find any that was free or dedicated.

Great coffee, my only complaint is there are no shades on the windows at all - on super sunny Seattle days you can barely see each other inside.

Great coffee. The place also has a small menu of breakfast items. The spinach and cheese sandwich was really good. Other ones were good too. The staff was nice too. Highly recommend this place. The Price is on the higher side though.

Really enjoy this place, and its my moms favorite place for her lavender lattes when she is in town. I have a coffee shop on the 1st floor of my building, but I walk the 10mins to go to CU because the service is friendlier and the product is top notch. I get a shot of ristretto with a dash of cream and SF vanilla with sparkling water on the side and a soy milk cappuccino with SF vanilla for the walk back. The shots of espresso are creamy and not bitter, and my cappuccino was beyond perfect. Highly recommend!

Try a Bicerin to stay, its pretty awesome.. Wifi password (1201westlake) and specialty drink descriptions need to be posted and easily visible. No self-serve water.

Great little spot with great baristas. In the morning it can get a long line due to being the best coffee shop around the area, so not worth the wait at that time but for the most part a great coffee location.

One of clerk is the worst Ive seen. She was making coffee for customers ahead of me. After I ordered my coffee, she ignored my order and went away, left me waiting. I thought she was busy so I didnt say anything. but after she came back she was chatting with other and kept ignoring me. I stood there and she totally ignore my existing and my order and after chat she went away. I dont know her name but I as a regular customer, hope to have this clerk fired please.

This is a cute and clean place with very good espresso. The cortado and cappuccino are very tasty! Cool music, and the atmosphere is quiet and comfy to get work done even when the place is full. Nice fresh snacks and breakfast pastries. Awesome location, and BIG windows with lots of sun light (when its not cloudy). Great service and friendly Baristas! Beats Starbucks for sure.

Delicious tea and coffee. I loved the coconut with chocolate dessert (forgot the name :P) The service was the best part! I will be back when in town.

Cute coffee shop by Lake Union. My husband and I were taking a walk by the lake and thought a nice cup of coffee would make this gorgeous day even better. Great customer service, the barista helped us figure out what to order and the coffee came out fast and was tasty. There are a few tables inside too, nice quiet environment to get work done. Cookies a little pricey so we didnt try them. Overall cute coffee shop! Recommend stopping here on your way to the lake.

This is a nice, small cafe to sit and drink some coffee while watching the cars go by. It is a good place to meet a friend to catch up!

The staff here are really friendly and the lattes are good. I also tried the chocolate chip cookie, it wasnt mind blowing but it was good. Lots of seating and they have AC for hot days.

The menu is interesting with Italian inspired coffee drinks. My Bicerin (three layer drink -chocolate , expresso, whipped cream with cinnamon) was DEVINE. My only wish that such a beautiful drink could be served in the fully transparent cup/plastic cup.Tea lovers will find mocha, chai and long list of brew teas. The pastry (almond croissant) was fresh and flaky. We set outside and enjoyed the weather and a side view of marina.

This place is a solid 4 Stars. Service was great. Interior is comfortable. They have some cafe sandwiches and items other than pastries. The machiatto I had was good but it just didnt stand out. Tasted good but was just one dimensional. Nonetheless, this location is nice and has massive windows for watching Westlake traffic and pedestrians.

Smaller space but comfortable and the staff is very nice and helpful with the drinks on the menu. Names are different than you might be used to but the quality is over the top. So delicious. Parking is not that bad along the marina so you can go at almost anytime.

Great spot. Coffee is the best tasting around in my opinion. Staff is very friendly and pastries always fresh. Great spot and conveniently located across from the Marina at South Lake Union.

I enjoy this place, even if I need to ask what a bicerin is each time. I was a barista many years ago, and was impressed with the thickness of their foam. Their wood trim looks pretty and in summer, when their roll up windows are open, it feels very pleasant.

We ordered a caramel latte, a caffe mocha, and some cold brews. The barista was charming and helpful, and all of the drinks were yummy. The cold brew was different, but in s good way and I was out in 5 minutes. Seattle is lucky to have this chain.

I have loved all of my drinks from this place. Friendly service, clean cafe, comfy atmosphere.

Pastries are moist not hard and The Mochas dont taste like Hot Chocolate(Starbucks or Cherry Street)

Quiet, great for meeting people. Very nice staff. Coffee was good, Im no coffee expert but I was a fan. A good laid back and open space.

Love the coffee & nibblins. The atmosphere is calming & barista are great! If you are lucky enough to get one of their little booths its always fun to be tucked away they also have nice tables as well as a bar by the windows for people watching while you work sip or eat. Do wish that they had more of an actual menu for breakfast and lunch and a little bit more variety of options. But what they have is delicious its very clean and they dont make you feel like youve overstayed your welcome. Great place to relax catch up with a friend study work remotely and people watch.

My vanilla latte was perfect. The small bites of food were also really delicious. There is free wi-fi so this might be a good place to study or work at for a bit.

Too snobby for my taste. The staff seemed bored out of their minds and my drink wasnt any better than any number of other places I could have gone. Id prefer a friendly barista, thanks!

Great space and great service. This is the coffee style that Starbucks wishes for with much more approachable flavors than a lot of Seattle roasters.

I highly recommend arriving early for the widest availability of their savory offerings. The vegetarian quiche and the caffe marocchino (Ma-ra-Key-no) are particularly splendid. This is a modestly sized location with a quiet ambiance and a wall of booth seats. There is also a wrap around bar and tables that seat four. If you like modern design the ceiling has a terrific wooden sculpture above the counter.
