Great, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Had good local knowledge, was very informative and helpful. We looked at local patterns, and picked out materials to tie favorites. We hung out and swapped stories, and some good deals on sale items too. All you want from a fly shop!

Its always hard to be the new guy picking up a hobby. Jake was awesome and set me up with some solid patterns for tying my own elk caddis fly. Great shop, cool gear, and fantastic staff to walk you through all the details.

I live close by and always wandered in because they have a great selection of outdoor clothing. I got into fly fishing this past summer and the staff at Avid were very helpful in educating me on a lot of the intricacies. They were very professional and extremely passionate about the sport which got me really excited. Was never treated like a lesser person for calling something by the wrong name or using the wrong terms, etc.Henley, even offered to let me borrow his personal 7wt rod for an upcoming fishing trip since he was concerned that my new 5wt might not be adequate for the bigger fish I was targeting.So fortunate to have a shop of this caliber in such close proximity!

Very helpful staff. Jacob was friendly and very knowledgeable about a wide variety of topics and locations. Typical small fly fishing shop pricing though. Almost $3/ fly after tax, but some things were competitively priced I guess. I will definitely go back when in the area.

The guys are friendly, knowledge, passionate and generally just want you to have a good time. I have never been pushed into a sale but rather been told to demo equipment before buying. They are more than happy to recommend you fishing spots and provide info. Great shop with great people.

Avid angler is an amazing shop.. this place is where the real anglers frequent. The shop staff is always knowledgable, helpful, and most importantly personable. They never an attempt to sell me something but always have the guidance and wisdom for the things Im looking for. This shop has sold me their friendship, trust and that has sold me on them. Other shops in the area may have more retail space, but Avid is my place.

This shop, the service and the products they sell are outstanding! Before I started going to Avid I went to a shop closer to home, but due to bad service at the other shop I decided to find a new shop. Avid is the only shop I use in the Puget Sound area. Their guides and staff are knowledgeable, professional and skilled at teaching the art of fly fishing. I highly recommend this shop to beginners and seasoned veterans and guarantee you will be more then satisfied with the service.

Weve taken 3 trips over the last few years and Avid Angler (AA) does not disappoint! I recommend AA to anyone Local or Visiting the Seattle Area.From fishing with Brita on the sound for Salmon, or Rainbows on the Upper Yakama with Whitey or the Lower Yakama with Mike all of the Guides at AA know what theyre doing.Ryan was helpful and adjusted his Guides schedule to fit our timeline. The trip yesterday on the Yak was the most beautiful trip weve ever taken on a float. Thank you for taking the time to make this trip work, we can wait to return to the area to fish again. Thanks also to the Guides, they made the trips fun and interesting learning some local history of the areas we fished. The trips are so much fun and very affordable, the guides experienced and patient to both seasoned anglers and beginners.Well Be Back !

Selection is good and staff are very nice. I have been to all other shops in the area and they treat you like theyre better than you (Pacific fly fishers), not the avid angler theyre very down to earth. This is the only place you need to go!!!
