I’ve used Apria in CT for many years and they were great. These guys are terrible. I’ve been trying to get my supplies for 3 weeks now. Mostly you get voicemail that says they call you back within 2 hours during business hours. That doesn’t happen. Their automated ordering system works well - they make it easy to order everything they can bill your insurance company for. But if they have a problem with your order, good luck with their “customer service”.

Apria in Sarasota was chosen by our home healthcare provider to obtain a standup walker for my 93 year old husband. Because of his height, an ordinary walker would not allow him to stand upright while using the walker. After waiting for over a month, Imagine our surprise when they tried to deliver a cheap ordinary one that can be purchased on Amazon for under $50. We sent it back and received a call the next day saying that they didn’t have a standup walker in their system. We have ordered a standup walker and will be sending a claim directly to our insurance provider.I am beyond belief that this is what our doctor and insurance provider would have approved and expected. The service of this office is unbelievable.Susan and Leonard Hayes

I recently had an appointment with Karen, in the Sarasota office, regarding trying a different cpap mask, my experience was one of the best EVER, in the medical field. Karen was so informed, she listened, knowledgeable, engaging, and just a real pleasure to deal with! You know she loves her job and doesn’t mind telling you everything she knows! You have a great assist to your company with this lady handling your business! I came out very inspired and I couldn’t wait to try what she sent me home with! Please make sure you keep this lady happy working for you! Highly recommend!

What a joy it has been working with Karen! My issues with CPAP has been ongoing...if its not one thing, its another. Karen has been there with me throughout it all, never impatient, unkind or neglectful. She returns all my texts and phone calls, solving all my problems. Shes knowledgeable, kind and really easy to communicate with. Cheers!!!

This company is such a disaster. Impossible to get ahold of. When you do the people located at the Sarasota branch are incredibly rude. Barbara specifically was so incredibly rude. They scheduled to pick up our oxygen concentrator and monitor two days in a row and never showed up. Finally someone showed up the beginning of the following week. Not they are saying they didn’t pick up our monitor when they did and trying to charge us for it. Such a mess. They need better staff and better inventory monitoring that’s for sure.

Wow, what great service! Had a problem with my Air 10 CPAP making a terrible noise. Nathan checked with ResMed and the unit was out of warranty. Karen called me back as Nathan said she would. We discussed the problem further and discussed her looking for a good used unit. I didnt really want to put anymore money into this unit since it was fairly new and will be at least another 2.5 years before insurance would purchase another one. Karen said she would stay in touch. The very next day Karen called and said Nathan had agreed to replace with a refurbished unit. The new unit was quiet again. Thank you Nathan and Karen for working with me. You have my appreciation and business. Keep up the great service. Duane Davis

APRIA Listens to their customers and solves their problems.Karen was awesome. We went to Apria Healthcare in Sarasota, FL looking to get a new mask for my daughter. As we discussed how she used the CPAP during our discussion we revealed that we had some issues with it losing power intermittently. Karen discovered that it was an issue with the plug in port.Lucky for us it was still under warranty. She said just take it back to where you got it and they should swap it out for you. We explained that we got it in Michigan. It would require us to ship it there wait for them to send it back. This means my daughter, whose oxygen goes down to 72% when she is with out her machine, would essentially not be sleep until it was returned.Karen did the right thing. She took care of us right then and there. She swapped out the machine and said she would return it back to the manufacturer. She found a mask that worked for my daughters small face and special ordered it for us. It has been a month since we got the new mask, we went to see the Pulmonologist. He was very happy with her results. Her numbers are better than they were in the last year. I feel this is because of Karen. Most people would have fitted Jenna with a mask they had in stock and sent us on our way. They would have also had us send her CPAP back and go without until the problem was fixed somewhere else.Thank you Karen for listening to our concerns and solving our issues with my daughters mask and getting to the root cause of her problem with her CPAP. Thank you also for taking the extra steps to ensure that the patient is not having to chase down the resolution to their problem. You and APRIA are truly dedicated to your patients.

I have used Apria, on Interstate, in Sarasota, FL, for quite a few years, and have had my CPap machines cleaned and reset by the technician three times. Each time I called for an appointment and received a convenient time, no waiting on the phone, prompt service. Each time, there was no waiting for my appointment. The technician was polite, clean, and efficient. One of my visits, I received several items FREE: cushions, filters, etc.! I was so surprised to see negative reviews, that I took the time to give my viewpoint. I used another service, before this, and Apria is as good or better.

Apria Sarasota has consistently been a let-down. Very poor management of tube feeding supplies from the very start. Failed to deliver original formula in a timely manner Failed to order replacement tube as directed by surgeon after receiving multiple RXs written to agreed specifications confirmed by phone. Failure to follow up with patient or surgeon when issues arise, leaving the entire responsibility on the patient to repeatedly call Apria, be placed on hold, be routed to different departments, be given inaccurate information or have information withheld. Currently several weeks behind schedule on new tube due to the item being on backorder, which is no fault of Apria, but failing to inform the patient or the surgeon is ludicrous. Would NEVER recommend the Sarasota Apria location for any time-sensitive healthcare needs.

(4/14/2014) This is not only the worst health care provider I have ever dealt with but the worst company in general. I am presently waiting on hold for the fourth time in ten days. One time it lasted 39 minutes, my physician tried to expedite my issue, figuring Apria would respond more quickly to doctors, and his assistant waited 32 minutes. After that call the required forms were faxed over to Apria immediately and last week on Monday, after waiting 15 minutes on hold, I was promised a return call by Wednesday that would authorize pick up of the equipment that I need. Late Wednesday when no call had been received I called customer service again and was promised a return call within 24 hours. Now, Monday again, 96 hours later I am back on hold - up to 12 minutes now - still waiting for that return call.I should note that the original order for the CPAP machine I need was written over 3 months ago. Since then everyone has dropped the ball; me, my health care provider, my HMO and Apria. Everyone has made mistakes, but Aprias have been the most egregious and continue to the point where they are now causing me physical harm. Unfortunately, they are the only provider authorized by my health care provider.Still on hold and counting: 20 minutes, 30 seconds - just got on with Jennifer M. in customer serviceOn hold again as she checks into issue. 8 minutes later and shes still checking.THE WORST EXPERIENCEShes back and now getting a supervisor - total time on phone: 30 Minutes 20 seconds.40 minutes in and the supervisor is not yet on.41 minutes in now talking with supervisor Katrina50 Minutes just got off - they claim the prescription isnt right from my doctor and that they will get back to me later today once they clarify the problem. Im sure there will be more to follow...

Posted on my Facebook page for all to see:Remember the day when people would think and make decisions that made sense? Why is that in todays economy there has to be several layers of nonsense and no one can make a decision on the run? As I get older I tend to have less patience with bureaucratic ninkom poops.I was on the phone with Care Centric who is handling my equipment while I recover. I was put on hold for several minutes while they talked to Apria Health in Sarasota, then I was told that they had the walker that I needed in Stock and that it would be expedited this afternoon to my moms in Port Charlotte.Well at 3:45 I get a call from Apria Health in Fort Myers to tell me that they dont have it in stock. Now here is where my disgust for stupid people comes in. They said by the time FedEx picks it up in Sarasota and delivers it to Fort Myers that I wouldnt get it until Thursday. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Lets see well put it on a truck in Sarasota, drive 45 minutes till they get to Port Charlotte, wave as they go by then drive another 45 minutes to Fort Myers, then send it through the FedEx hub to finally reach Apria Health in Fort Myers to only be loaded on another truck back to Port Charlotte? It must take a special kind of stupid to manage a medical device facility.

We live in the small town in Ohio where Apria started. Back in the day, they made the trip to the larger town we lived in and you could take your machine to the local hotel and they checked it over, ordered new parts and you actually had one on one. Last Nov. my husband needed a new CPAP after having open heart surgery. Between our family Dr. and Apria they completely screwed it up and we went to FL for the winter, without his CPAP. This Nov. the old one broke, he took it to this small office, she said, yes thats broke. Heres what we need. Several, and I do mean several on holds and paper work and frustrating conversations with people who speak with an accent and their phone number comes up with two ones which tells me it is on overseas call - do they think we are stupid - we get the final okay, just days before we leave for FL. This person with the barely discernible English, calls to make an appointment for 3 days away. We delay our trip and agree. Thank God a relative of a son-in-law works in this office and I immediately had a call from the small office, would you like to come over and get it. Gee zooey! what in the world are they thinking with this company? There are other CPap Companies, but if Medicare doesnt like them, hey, too bad. Now, he has to have a 3 mos. face to face with the Dr. that prescribed it. Really? From FL? Maybe we could Face Time! He said, I wont be in Ohio. Well, you will have to fly back. Then we were done!!!!! The small office said, tell them you want to speak to our office. Hah! I asked three times and I got what do you want to speak to them about? None of your damn business. Okay, rant over!!
