Highly recommend. This store provides so many types of threads of different colors and textures. I have been in many needlework stores throughout the country and can not say there is one better. I have taken personal and group lessons from Vickie. She has been very patient and an excellent teacher. Those in the store- Lynn, Julia, and Pat have also been helpful and knowledgable when I have had questions! 5 stars 😊

The Needlepoint Studio is an excellent source for needlepoint fibers. They carry a wide variety of fibers and canvases. The owner and staff are very helpful and friendly. I wish I lived closer. It’s always a special treat when I get to visit the shop!

Needlepoint Studio is one of the best needlepoint stores in America - and I’ve shopped at most of them (at least it feels that way).The selection of canvases is excellent with something for most everyone. If there is something you don’t see, they’ll get it.The selection of fibers is extensive. Of particular interest to some of us, not only do they carry all the Silk & Ivory but they have Trio too.Vicky Yoh, the owner, has assembled a terrific team at the store. They are friendly and knowledgeable and have created a welcoming atmosphere. Finally, Vicky is an extraordinary teacher. In addition to scheduled classes she is available to help and provide advice.Whether you are a beginner stitcher or an old hand you will find what you need at Needlepoint Studio.

Was in town for Mother’s Day, and a short visit with a friend in Sun City. Stopped in on Tuesday..... always on the lookout for interesting canvases, and delighted by the variety here. Very helpful staff and well-stocked shop - definitely will do more business over the internet, and in person on my next trip to the Tampa area!

I am new to needlepointing, and find the website to be useless.I enjoy other websites around the country that are so well done as well as give you an idea of all the opportunities for classes and learning that these other studios provide. I wish I lived near them instead of the Sarasota store. It appears to be a group of regulars who get together to stitch and chat. That makes newcomers uncomfortable. Instead of gathering in the front f the store, they should be in the back. I also notice that other shops offer this chatting and stitching for only 2 hours on specific days. They also offer free help to beginners on a specific day for 30 minutes. They have classes varying in price, whereas the Sarasota Studio offers two classes now , just under $700. Surely this shop only wants to cater to the elite.I am so disappointed because I thought I found a new creative craft to enjoy, but am going to find a place where I am welcome and not intruding on the daily group that meets. They even eat their food/lunch in the front of the shop. Surely not an appropriate place as new people enter.

Lovely place to be for work and for pleasure! Vickie is a wonderful, sincere shop owner and always wants to make sure customers enjoy their time in the shop. From water and coffee that is provided at no charge, to the stands and lights provided for anyone to use during open stitching, there is little left to want for. This shop is amazing. Filled with stitchers and staff who love this ancient art.

I LOVE the Needlepoint Studio. This is my 3rd winter season that I have been a regular weekly stitcher in Vickis studio. She is incredibly knowledgeable and probably one of the nicest people I know. I was a first timer at needlepoint and her patience and skills have resulted in my love of the craft. I have met many wonderful women in her studio and it is almost always full of happy customers. Reading through the reviews from many people that arent customers is pretty sad. Its clear that they have never crossed the doorstep of this wonderful place. Thank you Vickie! I look forward to next 4 months and hopefully I will finally finish a canvas.

I took a Needlepoint Basic class for 3 days with Vicki and her staff and it was wonderful. Great instruction, fabulous store with lots of different types of threads, canvass and so much more. Very helpful and friendly. Cant wait to go back next time Im in town.

My Happy Place ! I walked into the store or year ago to buy some threats. The staff was friendly and very helpful selecting the color and the type of thread I needed. There were several women stitching and I was amazed at the beautiful stitching they were doing, I wanted to do what they were doing. I’ve taken a couple of classes given by the owner. She is so talented! she was very helpful and cheerful and very very patient for this new stitcher. My first class was a canvas with beautiful shells, we learned all kinds of new stitches. Who knew there were more stitches than basket weave! I began joining the ladies who stitched when the studio is open for stitching. These ladies are smart, talented and so much fun. I’ve I am in awe of their patients with me and helping me when I have a question. I have made many new friends and consider the Needlepoint studio my happy place!

It is too bad that I cannot give more than 5 stars. I regret that the customer below was disappointed, but she got a few things wrong. There are more than two classes available. Vickie does a Needlepoint Studio class every Tuesday from 10 to 2. The price is $30. Sign up for the class, bring whatever project you are working on, and she will help you. Vickie also gives private lessons.The stitchers in the front of the store are not a clique, but are very welcoming and are happy to share their projects. Yes, we talk, we laugh, and enjoy ourselves. We try to say hello to every customer, and offer help if Vickie or Stephanie are with other customers. This group also has years of needlepoint experience and we are always willing to share our knowledge with anyone who asks.I come to the shop to stitch (and chat) 3 times a week. The company is enjoyable, the lunches are delicious, and stitching with friends is a delight. This shop is really my Happy Place!

Needlepoint Studio of Sarasota is my happy place. The owner, Vickie Yohe, welcomes you as you walk through the door and makes you feel right at home. From open stitch hours to classes and private lessons, you will learn so much and spend time with great friends. The canvases and threads and of course all the little do-dads make shopping and stitching so much fun! It is truly worth the visit.

I love this shop! I have been stitching here since I was 9 years old. The owner has been very kind to me and I’ve even been allowed to help all the nice ladies that come into the shop!

Needlepoint Studio Sarasota is a very happy place. Vickie (the owner) is a wonderful teacher and loved to help Steffani (Vickies daughter), has a wonderful sense of color and loves picking out fibers for you. Come in and sit a spell any day of the week to get help. Tuesdays are Studio time. You pay a fee to come from 10-2 on Tuesdays and get all your questions answered about your piece, what stitch, what color. It definitely is a happy place.

Fantastic shop!! If youve ever thought about trying needlepoint, this is THE place. Vickie is a wonderful teacher and has guided me into the wonderful world of needlepoint. We are so fortunate to have this shop in our area!!

Actually 10 stars. I am sorry that the reviewer below was so disappointed. However, being new to the group, she probably is unaware of how much help there is at that front table. We all make an effort to greet each customer and act as ambassadors for the craft and the store. The front table is one my happy places and the fact that we can order delicious lunches from various local restaurants is a real plus. Truly a girls and guys day out. Needle point is an expensive hobby as are knitting and quilting but well worth every cent. I love the store, the owners and helpers and the ladies at the back table!

Never ever use this rip off store unless you have loads of extra funds to lose by having your items for finishing sent to Vicki Yohe’s pals in Dallas and her unable to give you an estimate despite overcharging elderly customers for years through this ruse. Completely untrustworthy.

I would give it 100 stars if I could! Needlepoint Studio is the BEST needlepoint store I have ever visited. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a first time stitcher or have been stitching for years. Vickie, Stephanie and Jessica give a level of personal customer service that is rare to find these days. Even the ladies stitching at the front table are a wealth of information and support. I came into the store not knowing anything, and through group lessons, private lessons and the help of the ladies at the front table, I have learned so much.....and continue to learn. Hands down, BEST needlepoint store ever!

This is Nancy his wife. A truly lovely shop with amazing canvases and a good selection of fibers. The owner Vickie is knowledgeable and gracious and patient!! My friend and I had a private lesson with Vickie and she taught me many useful techniques and good tips! She never got frustrated when our brains were a little behind her instructions. Her daughter StefaniIs very talented and knowledgeable also. For those of us who dont have a LNS this was a true gem, you wont be disappointed!

A wonderful, welcoming shop. Not sure what Carolyn was talking about. The stitchers in the front of the shop welcomed me first, the owner was assisting another customer, when she finished, she welcomed me. I am new to painted canvas, arrived with a canvas I brought else both the stitchers and owner have answered questions, assisted and encouraged me. Not sure what more they could have done. Other stitchers came in while I was there and they came and looked at the projects everyone was stitching on. This is a wonderful shop and I will really miss it when I return north!

A delightful shop jam packed with beautiful canvasses and fabulous fibers! We were welcomed by friendly stitchers enjoying the morning and happy to show off their work. The owner, Vickie Yobe, was passionate about her wide selection of fibers and happily shared her stitching recommendations on a canvas I had brought with me. Her daughter, artist Stephanie Ganey, enthusiastically shared fibers still in boxes purchased at market recently. I cant wait to go back and spend the day shopping!
