Was so happy that the gentleman was able to adjust my rear brake cable without an appointment. He did a great job and also inspected the front brake also in 15 minutes at minimal cost. Based on observation of the many bikes in for service they look pretty busied. Thanks for taking time out for me!

Purchased an FX 2 disc bike. Loved it so much I went the next day and pruchased a Verve disc 2 for my wife. Excellent bikes for our purposes. Liesure and fitness riding on the legacy Trail. The bikes are so responsive and comfortable that we cant wait to hop on them after work and on weekends for our daily ride.. Excellent service and selction at the store. I would highly recomend them.

COVID has place bike shops in a challenging environment- demand outstripping supply. I recently travelled from Tampa to Sarasota to purchase a Trek Domane SL5. I found team courteous , honest (ie what they had and do not have in stock) and hugely helpful when I needed an adjustment after my first ride. I would recommend this team and shop above anyone else…Do not go somewhere else!

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it was hard to find bikes and forget it if you wanted a specific bike . I called several TREK shops in Tampa Bay area and Sarasota Cycle was the only one that could help me. Others told me it might be months for the bike I wanted (Trek Domane SL4) or possibly it was no longer being manufactured. I contacted Sarasota cycle via email on a whim and they contacted me very quickly. Spoke with Mike the lead salesman and he was able to order the bike for me in my size. He was professional and very patient with me ( I couldnt find my credit card!). The bike came in as he predicted and was ready about one week earlier than he initially thought. Picked up the bike at the shop (wow, that place is big!).The store itself was very clean and it seemed they had a good inventory. Easy to find. Shout out to all who helped me (the mechanic who put on my pedals, the single store employee who went over the bike briefly). Overall I had a good experience and it was worth the one hour drive.I highly recommend this bike shop.

The older man behind the counter was the opposite of helpful. He was not friendly at all, and would not let me test ride any bike in the store, apparently due to them all being sold. I’ve never been to a bike shop where the customer is expected to make a purchase without being able to test ride his bicycle first. Afterwards I went to F2R in downtown Sarasota and they were incredibly helpful and accommodating, letting me test ride multiple bikes in the store and also adjusting seat heights to my preference.

Worst customer service... no even greetings. I went ti buy a bike with money in my pocket, just one other customer... walk like 3 miles inside the store, I bet they didnt see me leaving the store... mechanic look at you like you where an alien... I had giving them a few chances and every time its the same... worst customer service

We were very excited we found this bike shop!The service center was super quick to get one of our bikes in within 3 days, excellent job and didn’t over charge.Later that day we decided to buy another bike and the experience was great! Speedy checkout and again a good price for a quality Trek Bike!If you are buying a new bike or need your current bike serviced this is no doubt your best choice!

Brought my wheel in for a new tire and tubeThe gentleman behind the counter was very friendly as I explained my needs, he stopped what he was doing explained some options and installed the tube and tire while I waited!!Was in and out in 30 minutes or less and could not be more satisfied. The price was very reasonable as well.Would highly recommend this business!!

I called to check on the arrival date for my Trek bike and the person who answered immediately responded in a demeaning tone about how the pandemic has changed shipping times, etc. To be clear, I am very aware of the Covid-19 Pandemic and understand its dramatic effect on the world- there was no need to respond in such a patronizing way.I went to the store to speak with the sales person, Mike, who responded in a sarcastic tone saying “What do you want, a free bike?” He also said that if I canceled “who knows when I would see a new bike.”I cancelled the order and will wait for a bike from someone who cares. I know bikes are selling like crazy and that my order does not mean anything to these people but I think it’s clear that treating people with decency and respect doesn’t matter to them either.It’s surprising to me that they wouldn’t want to help someone find joy in these unusual times.

Bike I wanted was on the rack, but it was like I was invisible. Only one other customer in the place, and they talked and talked and talked. After 35 minutes I just walked out. Never going back.

Ok, this is what a bike shop is supposed to be. Merch in the front and full service in the back with a great and helpful staff. Took my Bianchi for a repair and it was done on time and I was alerted with a text. Required a modification and Jason called me to duscuss. I was 100% pleased.

Sarasota Cyclery took care of replacing my rear wheel on my Trek bike with the correct wheel at a fair price. I went to another Trek dealer which was a huge disappointment. I only wish I had come here first! Not all Trek dealers are the same!! These guys were friendly, ordered the correct wheel and serviced my bike quickly. They were slammed they day I brought the bike in for servicing and still they got my bike back to me same day. I cant say enough about the great service these guys provided. I will definitely return for all my bike needs or next bike purchase. I highly recommend Sarasota Cyclery!!

A quick shout out to the team at Sarasota Cycle. I stopped there today to have a tire replaced which took no more than 15 minutes and as usual the service and work were excellent. When I got home, I discovered I had left my wallet and some keys somewhere in my travels. Most places I had been to were closed for the day and I figured I would wait until the next day to check. I had a voice message from Matt at Sarasota Cycle that there was something at the shop that belonged to me. I drove to the shop after their closing time to see a couple friendly faces inside welcoming me in to retrieve my stuff.My phone number was in their system from when I had purchased bikes several years ago. Very poor customer service. My bike needed a new wheel. I was told the repair would be completed in 2-3 days. It instead took 8 days. When I questioned why it was taking so long my initial inquiries were rudely dismissed.

I had a great bike-buying experience with salesperson Dave. He spent more than an hour understanding how I would use the bike and answering all my questions. We narrowed the choices down to two options and I test rode them in the back parking lot.

These guys did a great job tuning up my Trek. It had been sitting in storage for several years and it was quite neglected and dusty. They brought it back to life and put a new tire on it for less than a hundred bucks. Its like a new bike, and they even cleaned it up. I am a dedicated Sarasota Cycle customer. The guys in the service department are friendly and reliable.

There are a few options to choose from in the area and Sarasota Cycles definitely holds up to the competition. They have a great repair staff; as well as an awesome selection of new and used bikes for any skill set, price range, or discipline. I recently purchased a helmet here, I know very little about helmets but they made it easy. I’ve purchased parts here many times and have always had a great experience.

GREAT! Shop here in Sarasota. Im an avid mountain biker so I need my bikes running smooth all the time. Recently had my GT serviced here by Matt with a fork service and a dropper post and wasnt disappointed by any means. Super prompt service and very knowledgeable staff. Seems like they never charge me enough for the quality service always performed on my bikes. Wouldnt go to another shop.

Good fast efficient service.

They have worked on my bike many times, and I have always been happy with the service. They have top notch mechanics, and for me that is the most important thing. They may need the bike for a few days if they are busy, but they know what they are doing. Very reasonable rates for service. The good news is that there are other good bike shops in the area, but none better than this one.

This is an excellent bike shop providing honest & excellent service with great prices. Dave and his staff are very knowledgeable and are always ready to assist with service needs. I have used this shop for servicing my bikes for several years. I have rented and purchased several bikes from Dave. This place is awesome!

Best bicycle repair shop and store. Family owned and its been the go-to shop Sarasota since Ive been a kid. Great selsction of bikes and accessories. Very friendly and knowledgeable techs and staff. The owner Dave is a family oriented guy who is laid back and easy to talk to. One time I wiped out on my bike and I broke some spokes and dinged up my handle bars and brakes. I brought it in and mentioned to Dave I was tight on cash (family and all that) and he repaired it for $15!!! A business that gives you all youd expect and more, for good prices.

So I brought my bike in to hopefully get repaired it only needed new tires and 1 new rim but the guy there acted as if he didn’t even want to be there and said we don’t have any tires but I could clearly look at the back wall and see tires and they kept giving excuses after another and not to mention they charge you around $2000 for and cheap peddling bike absolutely a rip offDon’t bother coming here unless if you want to be treated poorly

I was shown both an inexpensive option and a higher end tire with no pressure to buy the better one, which I did. I then bought a lock and the staff member took the time to show me how to program the code. They were friendly and helpful. I will be back

Awesome crew at this shop. Went in for the first time today for a potential repair. I brought a brand new bike in that I’ve unfortunately rounded out the left crank arm because of negligence on both the manufacturer and my part to check the torque specs on the bolts. This shop set me up with a new crank arm for $15 and out the door in 15 mins. There inventory is fantastic a well. Will definitely return!

Ist Class Service, I was in the market for a new Trek bicycle, the 2012 model that I wanted did not have the components I needed. Without hesitation Dave said, he would arrange to have the components changed and have the bicycle ready for me within a week. I assumed he was the owner making the quick decision to satisfy a customer. Upon returning to have the bicycle fitted to me did I find out he was not the owner. If I had not talked to Dave, I would have ended up with a bicycle from another shop that I would not have been satisfied with. I returned to have some minor changes in the fit and Matt took great care in making the adjustments. Thanks to Big Dave in having such great employees working at his store.

Sarasota Cycle has been a great place for service (tune ups) since I relocated to Sarasota in May. I was so impressed with the service, I ended up buying a new TREK from them this past weekend. There was no pressure and everyone was very informative and helpful. They even gave me a great number on my Kona trade-in. You can talk to the folks who do the repairs to understand everything youre paying for, extremely helpful. I found the prices extremely competitive with no up selling. If your looking for a comfortable place to buy a bike from experts, then start a relationship with Sarasota Cycle.

Ive been a customer for over 30 years... Ive bought across the board - from new to use and I always have been treated very well. The quality they sell has lead to very few service needs. But when I have needed service they are top notch and always deliver on time and exceed expectation. They are also well stock for all your needs.

Went in to purchase a bike. There were 4 employees there--one was with a customer. I walked around for quite some time--10 minutes or so and no one acknowledged my presence...when they finally acknowledged me there was no greeting--just do you have a question? I walked out. They lost a sale. Maybe some customer service training is in order.

I bought a Jamis Citizen there 30+ years ago. Just bought a Trek Verve there in August. They could not have been nicer. No sales pressure and a discount on some extras. If I live another 30 years maybe I will but another bike there. Very Satisfied. :-)X

These guys know their product well enough, but unless you are a rich Sarasota native, they do not give a toss about helping their customers. I went in for some replacement parts for my back wheel, and I felt that they were very condescending towards my lack of knowledge of bicycle parts from the start. As soon as i mentioned having found the part on amazon and that i wanted to see if i could find it locally first, the salesperson seemed to immediately loose interest in helping me at all. It feels like they are much more concerned about the customers who are hardcore lifestyle cyclists and those who are really willing to spend a lot of money. Unless you have a load of cash to blow through and like stuffy and rude customer service, i would most definitely steer clear of this place!

They fixed my bike that seemed impossible to fix, and they did their magic and the bike was fixed within 4 hours, anyways I really do recommend this place to fix your bike for a low cost.

Oddly, I was expecting this shop to be too pricey for my budget. I was very wrong. They have the lowest repair pricing around and the knowledge base of the staff is deep as their commitment to see you on the best bike for your riding needs.I didnt just find s bike that could keep up with my daily commute, but a relationship with a business as my riding needs expand in years to come.

Bought my loving wife a bike here yesterday. They showed her all features and installed all her upgrades. Then let us leave vehicle there while we took a ride to seista key. That was our 2nd purchase here and very satisfied.

Just a couple of weeks ago, I took my bike to Sarasota Cycle for service, the rear tire was flat and needed repairing. Right off the bat, an employee of SC removed my bike from the back of the car and brought it inside the shop. Once inside, I noticed how well kept up the shop looked while I was processed in a very friendly and professional manner by Matt. In addition to the flat, i mentioned having trouble with a couple of aging signs my bike (which I ride often) was sporting. After picking it up a couple days later, the price for the repair was v-e-r-y reasonable and another employee at SC - Tyler - put the bike back in the car for me, I appreciated that ! A couple days after that, I rode my bike for the first time again since the repair and low and behold, the aging signs it was sporting beforehand were ... go n e ... It runs much much smoother, easier and when engaging the brake, it no longer sounds like a trombone playing ... wow ... I was really really happy with all and then called Matt at the shop who had done the work on it to thank him personally for his magic touch to my bike he had done. In summary, my experience at Sarasota Cycle was EXCELLENT, friendly service, good pricing and customer friendly manner, I would highly recommend SC to anyone at all ! Since i was 8 and the shop was on state street downtown SRQ it was the only bike shop here, jump ahead 54 years and Im still relying on this family-owned business to repair, suggest and help me with my bikes thank you Sarasota Cycle.

Great buying experience and I did not spend a lot of money. Was given the option of a closeout model or new model and picked the former. Only lived in Bradenton 3 months so dont know where to go but looking forward to year around bike riding. Drove 30 min to get to there store. They gave great advise on where to ride in the area. Choose another shop, ANY shop. I was totally snubbed when I went in for a simple spoke repair. I guess I wasnt driving an expensive enough car to warrant their attention.

I came into your store today, August 8, 2013, and was ignored for a period in excess of 20 minutes. I can only assume that I was treated in such a manner because I happened to be wearing my work clothes. Your personnel should be taught a lesson that most children know, which is you should not judge a book by its cover. Not only am I financially able to purchase your products, but I previously raced professionally in Colorado for ten years. I was very interested in getting back into the sport here, but can assure you that I will be purchasing none of my equipment from your store. I will not soon forget how I felt upon exiting your store, and I promise to tell every person with whom I ever discuss bicycling products about my experience with your establishment. Seriously, shame on you.

This is literally the first time Ive ever been so unsatisfied that I posted a review online! I went in less than a week ago to get a new wheel, tube and tire for the back. Two days later i saw the front tire needed a new tube, so I went somewhere a friend had recommended. At first site this new place said the back wasnt even done right! Then he fixed the front and did a tune up and i picked the bike up the next day which was today. Then ON MY FIRST RIDE I was just about done when I came to an intersection with a light so i slowed down to a stop and turned to face the street and when I did the whole back tire just bent. I only rode it for 8 miles! Why would they even sell a product that was so horrible that it would just bend like that from me stopping and slightly turning???Please do not go here. They obviously sell horrible products and couldnt even put my back tire on right.

They might do well selling bikes, not sure, but I do know that their service is horrible. I hired them around 9 years ago to fix some breaks, but walked out of the shop, brakes not fixed, even though I had left the bike there for them to take their time on.Hired them last week to tune up an entry level pro bike, walked out with almost 1/2 of wobble on the back wheel, without their even trying to bring it to my attention.They said that they are willing to fix it, but Im never going back there again.

Terrible service staff! Was met with indifference by the service dept. representative and virtually no help in selecting components to add to my bike (which I bought there). After having the components installed, the staff members were noticeably put-upon to make two minor (30 seconds) adjustments . They then complained that they have 30 bikes per day come in for repair. Expect extraordinarily surly– although timely– service.

Excellent and courteous staff...prompt and reliable service for the many years I have been going there.

I bought two Electra bikes from Sarasota Cycle in October 2016. In 1.5 years, all four inner tubes have failed, not while I have been riding the bikes but while the bikes have been sitting in a bike rack at home. Each time I took the bike back to Sarasota Cycle to get fixed, they found no puncture through the tire and told me that there was a crease in the inner tube or a burr on the spoke. In each case, they replaced the inner tube and the liner charing me $17.50. To me, this is a manufacturing defect which I think should be covered rather than me shelling out $17.50 for each repair. If this happened over a longer period of time, I would not expect much but to have all four inner tubes/liners fail in such a short period I feel the store should not charge for the fix. When I took one of the bikes back today to get the fourth tire fixed, I complained to the guy who helped me and he basically said it wasnt a trend in their tires. No offer to fix it for free or apologies.

I had a 5 star rated experience at Sarasota cycle; for any service or new purchase I strongly recommend to go there.
