The crew were amazing! They knew what they were doing and they took us to the right spot to release our dads ashes. Well definitely going to go back and take another sailing adventure soon.

Sailed on a 3 hour cruise for my husbands 60th. With Covid, there were rules but for the best of everyone. We had a beautiful Sunday on the Pacific with no one in sight except a school of dolphins. It was a great sail! My husband had a great day!

We did the 2 hour tour. $700 and the captain had no charm, no customer interaction. Sailed around. Tacked twice. It was a completely sterile experience for a tidy sum. Would neither recommend or do it again. If it was not for Venmo he wouldn’t even know my name. Don’t waste your $$

Beautiful sailing. Dennis took us further out than any other boat.COVID protocols are unavoidable and understandably required. Only weirdness about the “safety briefing” was the continued use of the term social isolation. Social distancing is the term the CDC uses and would be less off putting.

I have done two trips aboard the Sunset Kidd. These will not be my last! To the few negative reviewers, the crew takes you into nature; not flipping Sea World with trained dolphins. Sometimes it is sedate; other times, it is incredible. On my last excursion, my wife made the mistake of going below deck for an extended period and wound up sea sick. When the Captain realized what happened, he told her to get up top which helped. Another passenger (drunk) began pressing the Captain to speed things up and go further out to sea. The Captain, respecting my wifes situation, maneuvered closer to shore where the ocean was calmer and slowed down. The drunk protested; the Captain didnt budge. This is a total Five Star operation.

We had a truly lovely sunset sail with the captain and first mate on the Sunset Kidd! It happened to be the most peaceful evening with enough wind to sail along the coast. Absolutely stunning views of the Channel Islands and the coastal mountain range! If you’re looking for a true maritime experience that is not touristy, this is it. Thank you, Sunset Kidd! 💙💙💙

Booked a morning sail for my husband and I for his 50th. The original captain that was supposed to take us out had car trouble and did not make it by departure time. Another captain was called and he arrived about 30 minutes into our sailing time. But, they just added half an hour on to our cruise. We were also offered complimentary non-alcoholic beverages because of the delay. The captain was knowledgeable of the area and pointed out several ships and homes that belong to famous people. He and his first mate were friendly and engaging. They made it a point to take the boat close to places where sea lions were so pictures could be taken. We were on our way back in to the harbor when a passenger spotted a pod of dolphins and the captain immediately whipped the boat around and sailed back out to the pod. It was amazing to see them shooting gracefully just under the water right up and under the boat.We would definitely recommend sailing with this crew to anyone. We had two small children, an infant, and even a small dog on our cruise and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Capt. Allissa and 1st Mate Baron were fantastic. Very considerate and down to earth. Sailing is very much a deep part of them both. This was a delightful experience for my fiancée and myself. We look forward to a next trip with Sunset Kidd and her crew again in the summer. Thank you so much for such a lovely sailing experience on your sunset cruise.

The boat looked really nice and we would have loved to take the 2 hour sailing trip in the morning. The lady working in the office was super sweet. Unfortunately we did not get to sail since the budgeting was so tight for our honeymoon and we didnt realize they had never charged us for the trip even though they took our credit card info at the time of booking. So be known when you book and give your credit card info, they will NOT be charging you until you actually arrive the day of departure, when you check in. It was a big disappointment. We were really looking forward to this part of our honeymoon.

Talk about a boatload of boredom. Spent almost 200.00 for four of us to board an impressive looking sailing vessel, only to spend 90 minutes going two knots or less right next to the shoreline. We really thought that we were going to be sailing, not motoring around looking at old boats docked a few meters from shore. Could have walked along the shoreline and taken in much more.Yes, there was a bit of fog, but nothing that should have kept us from sailing. If captain Dennis and first mate Jody were that concerned about a bit of fog, they should have canceled the trip or offered us refunds. Never again.

We really enjoyed our 2 hour afternoon sail with Dennis and his first mate. Great sail boat, and theyve been at this for a long time. I know everybody has different opinions, but the bonus for us was the end. As we were approaching the harbor, Dennis saw a couple dolphins and immediately turned the boat back toward the open water and chased them. Next thing you know, we are watching 10 to 15 dolphins along side the sail boat. Everyone on board really enjoyed seeing them as the cameras were collecting all the pics possible. We will do the sunset sail next time. Thanks Dennis for your efforts!!

Captain Alyssa and First Mate Cody were perfect hosts and crew which made a perfect sailing experience even more enjoyable. The boat is immaculately maintained and just the perfect size for an intimate sailing experience. An hour and a half sail can buy a boatload of therapy!

You can say its a nice sail around Santa Bárbara harbour but forget about watching any whales or dolphins. Another thing to consider, weve been slightly 2 hours in water and real close to the shore.
