I was so worried to take my 06 prius in because I knew there was a lot wrong. Not only did Fidel send me pictures and explain each part that needed to be fixed, he was even able to do a little bit of body work on my car that needed a new bumper. I had had the body work appraised at a different place in town that was twice the price, so Im so glad I found this place. The owners wife is absolutely amazing too! Had my car back very quickly and great communication

I had a wonderful experience here with the owner Fidel! My cars battery was dead & I was driving around on a Sunday (of all days) looking for a mechanic to fix it. They were open and happy to help me at 8 am! It took him literally just 10 mins to switch my battery, all while maintaining a lovely conversation. The pricing was fair & reduced with my cash payment. This was honestly the best experience Ive ever had at any shop, especially as a woman, he was so kind & helpful. I really appreciated how he explained to me the difference between a bad starter vs a bad battery, very helpful information for the future. Ill definitely be returning! Hes very educated on Toyotas too, and went to school for other car brands as well.

I highly recommend SALAS AUTO REPAIR INC, Lexus Toyota Honda Specialist on 205 S Salinas St in Santa Barbara. The owner/mechanic, Fidel used to work at DCH Lexus and opened his own shop three years ago. He is super honest, almost half the price of what this new Lexus dealership owner group is charging. I took my Lexus IS 250 in for a big maintenance service today- basically got every single kind of fluid changed, front and rear brake replace, alignment, throttle body service and got my car back within 6 hrs. My car drives so much nicer after their service. They even offered ride and washed my car before pick up. Dealership service without the dealership prices. Can’t be happier!

Great experience! Salas serviced my Lexus. They were very professional and a great technical mechanic. Answered all my questions and turned around the maintenance check quickly!

Salas saved the day for us. We were all packed and ready to drive our Outback 2500 miles, but it was dead as a doornail. Called the dealer we bought it from and then another dealer & neither could help us. Called mobile auto mechanics, but all were baffled until we got to Salas, who told us the problem right away, and we were off.

My car had been giving me some overheating problems and they were able to quickly find the problem and fix it for me. Extremely helpful and courteous, definitely will be back for any and all car problems.

Fidel was prompt coming to our rescue when we had an emergency repair. We were camping near Santa Barbara and in town for fun. My son’s in laws car broke down on a Saturday, just a short time after our call to him the car was fixed and we were on the road again. Fast, thorough and friendly. I had an issue with my Kawasaki Mule 4010. Rather than drag it all the way out to Ventura to the only other shop around, I called Fidel at Salas. He came the next day, immediately recognized the issue and got me back up and running in less than an hour. Saved me time and money. Even a few days without the Mule adds loads of time and labor to my every day tasks. He saved the day, was honest and his price was reasonable. Even suggested a less expensive part that would work. Great guy and knows his way around a Kawasaki Mule. If your Mule is causing you problems, call him first.

Amazing!!! Fidel was able to squeeze me into his busy schedule at the last minute. I asked him simply to give my car a jump and he went above and beyond by picking up a new battery for my car on the way! He installed it in 5 minutes and made sure everything else was running ok and my fluids were checked. He was patient with my questions, and super friendly and knowledgeable. I have used Fidel a few times and wrote a review earlier this year when he helped me with a timing belt and water pump change. Anyways I was up to it again and changing out front struts and mounts on my truck. I ran into another issue with my electric impact not budging a few bolts that connect the struts to the wheel. I even split a couple impact sockets.(Going to invest in a better one soon) I called Fidel the day after Thanksgiving and he was getting ready to go to a client and told him where I was in the procedure and had everything done except those bolts and he came straight over and helped. He showed up in his RED CAPE if you know what I mean and saved the day. He broke those loose, helped me install the struts, put wheels back on and went for a test drive. All done in an hour and he was one his way. I’m very thankful to have met Fidel to assist me on my mechanic adventures. What a stud he is and would recommend him to anyone. I have complete faith and trust is this man and you should to.

Call me....Pastor Fred! Well, my story goes like this! I couldnt start my 2007 Honda Civic last Thursday, right before the long 4th of July Week- end was to begin? Towing costs lots of $$$ ? So, I thought, Ill call a mobile auto mechanic? But who is going to be available at such a time? Its already after 2 PM, and everyone is trying to get off work early, to start their holidays? But, I found Fidel on the internet & called him right out of the blue, and he told me, that he needed a couple of hours to finish up a job in Carp. and then hed come to me in SB around 5 PM? Guess what? He did come! Hes a great guy, and a marvelous mechanic! He diagnosed my bad starter in no time, went to the parts store, got another one, came back, and put in on by 7 PM! WOW! Car runs beautifully now! The price for parts & labor was very fair! On a scale of 1 to 10, Fidel is a 10 for sure!
