The people that worked here are very helpful ask a question and they answer you. If they dont have it then they will order it for you. Well together store. I think it is family own.... small but has alot...

Incredible use of a small space, they really have everything you need in store. It would also seem that if somehow they don’t have then they can get it very quickly! I went in looking for a specific blade for my battery powered saw and they searched high and low for me until determining they didn’t have it in stock. Told me if I could wait 20-30 minutes they would have it for me no problem. I was working around the corner so that worked just fine and sure enough I got a call 20 minutes later. I walked in, they handed me the exact blade I had asked for, and I walked out inspired to write this review. Thank you gentleman, you saved me a headache on a hot day!

Horrible service. I walked into this store looking for a light fixture for a rental property. I asked the cashier if they had any in stock. He said yes & grabbed a ladder to show me what he had in stock. After him finding one, I followed him up to the cash register to pay. I never had an opportunity to look inside to see if everything looked ok, because the counter was full of sales items. So I held on to it and paid. I returned to my car to look over the item to make sure I had everything o needed to do the job. Unfortunately items were missing and it wasnt the right light fixture. So I returned to the store 3 mins later letting the cashier know I couldnt use the items I purchased. He yelled at me saying no returns only store credit. Which didnt help because the next light fixture was a hundred thirty plus. Im writing this because I felt like a No Return sign should be visible for customers to choose if they want to make a purchase knowing u cant return it.This guy was rude and I wouldnt recommend this store to anyone who doesnt want to be ripped off. Smh... shameful

The female cashier was very nice but one of the males workers stood in the aisle and watched me the entire time until I saw him and then he scurried away. Ha ha ha

Veet helpful and friendly staff, great assortment of all kinds of hardware, plus a little bit of everything else. Great for when youre looking for that particular piece of hardware to repair or build something, and that seems to be unavailable everywhere else.

It can be a bit of a scavenger hunt navigating the store as it is comparatively small and filled with merchandise but that is part of its charm. This is a family-owned, neighborhood hardware store where even the grandkids help out on the weekend - and they are knowledgeable. Everyone works hard and is friendly.

Been living in San leandro for over 10+ years. If I dont feel like going to larger hardware stores to find what I need, I go this family owned store. I always ask what Im looking for because its small crowded store with stuff you needed. They appeared to have everything for the fixings. I even get my keys made to save my time.

Great neighborhood hardware store. They have pretty much everything is there. Ever family member Ive dealt with was very nice and helpful and the matriarch is especially knowledgeable. It kind of feels like your in her private worksop in there and I mean that in the best possible way.

The fast friendly service completely belies the cluttered nature of the ailes. The staff know exactly where to direct you for any little or large household project. And even throughout the packed aisles, there is a method to the madness so that you can still find things on your own.

Been going to this ace for years, Susan the owner is very pleasant to me, the son is a different story. I hear how he talks to people and his customer service is horrible. He argued back and forth with me on a return and then told me I wasnt. listening. Who does that.Iwas totally offended and will not go there again. Ive seen this behaver with only black people in this store and Im done.

Stop by this Ace hardware to pick up some material for work. It was kind of annoying though because the prices seemed really high for some reason. I paid $22 for a flapper for a toilet. I definitely will not be coming back.

Thankfully they have a great, helpful and knowledgeable staff, as customers would otherwise be on a treasure hunt in this quiant yet packed to the gills old school hardware store. If you need it, chances are they have it. Finding it is the challenge as there is far more inventory in this shop than real estate to show it all off.

They should update their hours online. Just FYI temporary hours are Monday through Saturday until 4 PM. I learned that after walking up to the door after previously checking these online hours that stated they were open until six.

Dutton Hardware has been in the neighborhood for countless years, providing service and resources to the community. The current owners continue to provide access to the stuff we need for our 100 year old house here in San Leandro. For example, the original mortise lock set on the front door needed a new split, threaded spindle for the doorknob. You cant get that at Home Depot. But in the back of Dutton Hardware, there were two in a drawer. Ive also repaired toilet valves, replaced circuit breakers, and bought parts for any of a number of small repairs and projects. It is true that prices are not rock bottom, but keeping a resource like Dutton Hardware in our neighborhood is worth a few percent to me. Check them out when you need something you cant get at the big box stores.

Reminds me of the hardware store that my dad took me to on his weekend errands. Aisles are a bit cluttered but well-stocked with variety of goods for small household projects and repairs.

A Ton Of Stuff! Classic ol skool/mom & pop style h/w store. Friendly and helpful staff. Kinda crazy how they pack so much stuff into this fairly small place! However, if youre having a hard time finding what youre looking for, then just ask, you WILL get an Honest answer (... says my personal experience).
