Nice!! Once again Cali Kites came though for me.Got that light wind board. I’ve been looking for.Thanks guys.

This one star review isn’t necessarily against the people and the staff of Cali Kites but more so for the Boosted Board product, which they acquired when the Original Boosted Board Company folded. My issue is the fact that Cali Kites knows about the failing battery system in the Boosted Board and didn’t forewarn me that it must remain on the charger at all times (which is ridiculous by the way for a $2000 toy). Also, the fact that they will not replace for free, they don’t discount a new battery, offer to repair for free or with a discount is preposterous. I can afford to get a new battery but the deception forces me to dump boosted altogether, I don’t like being duped. This new battery is $400, which is 25% the cost of what I paid for the new board and now 33% the cost of a new board. Not worth it unless you are madly in love with the board. Also when I was riding the board daily and charging everyday, about after a month I started to notice a reduction of the battery charge life. This is overpriced and for the troubles it causes and requires it should be $650. The people at Cali Kites get 5 stars, the product and the mismanagement of its fatal flaw get 1 star. I wouldn’t buy it again. Tesla ATV or some other reliable toy or nothing next. I’m out.

The first time I went to Cali kites I was with a friend they had a lot of interesting things the second time I went I was with a friend and I purchased a boosted red none two days later someone stole it I was so hurt I went back and purchased two more one new and One News the used one went to a friend who loaned me the money third time I went back I purchased a dual thunder cuz I was tired of everybody chasing after me trying to figure out who I was and where Im at I appreciate Kelly cakes for giving me everything I need to be the fastest scooter on the Streets of San Francisco.

Purchased my Boosted Plus Skateboard today. Brian was more than helpful and hospitable. Thanks! Came back to purchase the Evolve Carbon GT and of course Brian was once again most excellent. Even letting me borrow his shoes for the test ride, Brian goes above and beyond expectations. Spent a good ten minutes answering my questions on my phone and gave me as much time as I wanted to demo the board. He then followed up and checked-in with me making sure everything is working right. Thanks for being good people Brian.

The online shopping experience and customer service at Calikites was horrible. A week or so after my order was confirmed, I followed up to confirm the shipping date and was told my order fell through the cracks and is now out of stock.They did offered a %16 discount if I dropped an additional $170 on a more expensive item to replace the one they sold to someone else. Unfortunately this was out of my budget, so the order was cancelled and no compensation was provided for the inconvenience.Since I waited for this order to be delivered, all comparably priced wetsuits are now sold out across the country.@calikites - It would have made more sense to provide the monetary compensation for your mistake in a way that was not contingent on me spending more money. Free gift, gift card ect...

Great experience with Jay at Calikites. I was looking for an evolve board, as the boards are sold out on the manufacturers site. He was able to get a shipment out to me out here on the east coast, scheduled to arrive before Christmas. Because they are not the manufacturer, the shipping process for this board was on a case-by-case basis, but I was able to get my order completely finished in about an hour. I am impressed solely on this fact because there are retailers that are on the eastern coast who refuse to ship the boards. He was also very knowledge about the board, and the whole transaction process was very smooth.Their 5 star review is no lie. Their customer service is absolutely terrific, and I hope to order my evolve accessories from them.A++

These guys are awesome. Super friendly, very knowledgeable, and they really want you to end up with the right gear. Brian (owner) and everyone else in the shop (Jay, Olivia are the ones Ive met) have always been great to chat with there too.Good selection of harnesses from this year and last (great selection of Ion gear especially, and close connections at Ion, which helps with any gear-related issues down the line). The board selections are nice but pricey. Solid other gear selection as well (impact vests, tops, etc.). Thanks guys!

Brian and his team at Cali Kites sell incredible gear and give even better advice. They are patient and consultative in helping you find the right gear for your skill level and size/weight. Ive been buying kiting gear and other adrenaline toys from Brian for a couple years now and will continue to do so as long as Im in the Bay. Pro tip: parking can be tricky and Ive noticed the store getting busier over the past couple years so come ready to play! CK is no joke - highly recommend you stop by.

Jay was awesome, he was they guy to help me out over the phone in buying the last Carbon GT in stock around late december. He was very professional but more importantly to me was that he had knowledge on the product and was able to make the transaction a human to human interaction. Im not talking about checking out online, Im talking about how most of the time dealing with retail employees seems like dealing with robots (as a retail employee, I dont blame them) but Jay was able to make it a very person to person experience and that is something I love. My case was a bit out of the norm as it was my first time dealing with Calikites and it was all done over the phone, but man, I would prefer to purchase from them and have it shipped to me next time I need something they sell because the customer service experience is THAT GOOD! Not to mention, this was a busy day that I called and had to brake it up into several calls to complete the transaction... yet my experience with Calikites through Jay was top notch! Keep it up guys! Absolutely awesome!

The moment the guy selling you something tells you: the cheaper product may be more suitable for you, you know youre in good hands. Bought a kite pump and a wetsuit from Brian and have to say, one of the better buying experiences Ive had. Ever!I ended up getting the top of the line ION wetsuit and coming from a 10-year old wetsuit, its a world of difference.Thanks Brian! The suit is awesome!

I have never experienced better service in a retail store -- I mean that.Brian was fantastic on the phone. Jay was a hero in person leading, not just helping, me repair a pinhole leak in my kite (after they experienced a break-in the night before and were up all night). These guys want to make sure you are equipped right, and are genuinely good guys.I know online is cheap. I think theyll match most online prices, and if you value service and trust at all, give these guys your business. I know I am going to.

CaliKites is definitely the place to go if youre looking kite gear in the bay area. Brian and Jay are very friendly, have a lot of experience and know everything there is to know about kite boarding. After renting kite gear for years, we bought our first own kite gear at CaliKites and are 100% satisfied.

Brian who runs Calikites is the real deal. Hes a local guy who I could tell keeps a lot of people like myself in the action with resources, knowledge, and a willingness to help. He was a great help today with my Boosted Board. Its worth going to a local shop like Calikites to know youre getting the right gear for the sports you love.

I was just visiting SF and I stopped by to see the store. But the price is so good that I had to change my 9m. This 2017 North Vegas is a perfect kite. By the way, Brian is a very cool guy too. I do recommend to visit the store when passing close to SF!

I couldnt recommend the guys at calikites more. When you buy local you get taken care of and this shop is that example. They know everything about the kites in their store and never tried to up sell me. I bought a board from them a few years ago a piece of my binding broke and they replaced it no questions asked. AND one guy helped tuned my lines while I waited for my binding to be fixed.

Calikites has been an awesome addition to the Bay Area kiteboarding scene. Love the location...been super convenient for me. And, Brians a great guy...doesnt try to push you gear just to get a sale...he really takes the time to help you find the right match. Calikites was the third kite shop I attempted to visit this week. From my experiences with the 3 shops this week, this is definitely my go to for kiteboarding gear. They understand the value of building trust and a loyal local customer base. These guys run their business like a business, unlike most other kite shops. The first shop I visited was closed during their regular business hours (only open 4 days a week and only for a few hours per day, and STILL was closed during this time). The second shop was open but the employee didnt know anything about the products, couldnt find anything they have that was in stock, had his friends over socializing while my husband and I looked for the items ourselves. Both shops told us to come back another day, and I was very disappointed in the way they conducted business.The guys at Calikites were knowledgeable about the products, and if they didnt know the exact specs, they tried to look them up for us. They gave great recommendations and were proactive on the sales without being pushy. They also gave us plenty of lone time to measure and discuss the items amongst ourselves. They can order things they didnt have in stock and have them shipped directly to our house. Needless to say we made our purchase with Calikites and not the other two shops. I am stoked with our purchase and experience, and will be back for more gear!

Brian always has the shop open during posted hours. He and Laurel are super nice and helpful. Brian is really good with allowing you to demo what you need, and has fair prices. Hes the only real kite shop in the city, so please support him!

It was a sad day Calikites moved from San Diego to San Fransisco, but that didnt change the fact that Brian is awesome and his shop rules! My go-to shop for anything kite. Brian cares a lot about his customers. I have bought 3 kites and a bunch of accessories from calikite. Whenever there was an issue with the product, they repaired or replaced the part with zero cost.Typical scenario: I walk in , ask Brian if he has the item I want. If he has it, hell give me a good price. if he doesnt have it, hell point me to the place where I can buy it. Im a complete beginner, and went into CaliKites just looking for basic information and direction about getting started. Brian was really helpful with recommendations for lessons, but didnt push any one particular approach, just offered some different choices, and I didnt feel judged or pigeon-holed into any one generic direction.I decided to buy an inexpensive trainer kite, so I can take my time to get familiar with a kite before spending money on lessons and then feel rushed to learn a lot of new things all within a few weekend hours. I like to get comfortable with new things on my own time, and just let my instincts develop a bit first, rather than needing someone to direct me at each moment anyhow--but thats just me.I also like being able to hang out and chat a bit to get a feel for the people in the sport, and Brian was both really professional, but also really personable, and, coincidentally another customer who happened to also be in the store gave me some great insight and personal experience that was a nice bonus too.The store is also really convenient, the hours are easy, and I found parking right out in front. Ill definitely be back!
