Just got into riding and Ive been to Cycle Gear for all my cycling needs. Its been a great experience with all the staff since they are nice, patient, and knowledgeable, when it comes to helping out new riders such as myself. Notable staff were Gaby, Kat, and Kevin(from the Kearny Mesa Branch) all of whom went out of their way to help me find the best gear for my journey. Love this place and I will be a long term customer.

Really friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend this location! Its one of their biggest stores and has a great selection of gear. I needed a lightweight summer jacket for cruising to the beach on hot days and couldnt be happier with my experience here.The woman at the front desk was really helpful and offered to hold my helmet while I shopped.Alex (sales associate) helped me pick out a jacket and he was really tuned in to the entire product offering from Dainese, Alpinestars, and more. He helped me quickly find the jacket I needed and then get the right size too.A+ 👍🏼

Great place to shop for anything motorcycle related. Overall, had a great time while browsing and not knowing what type of gear to get. Recently bought a 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 300 & started getting back to riding. The staff was very knowledgeable and had very great customer service! Great time while being there. Great prices as well. Stood there trying to get help with gloves for 45 minutes While 7 employees completely ignored me so I just left. Honestly I shop at two in other states and service has been amazing except here. Ive spent a few thousand shopping with them and honestly after here Im kinda done.

I should’ve asked for the man’s name but forgot. Extremely helpful and really accommodating associate at this location. He may have been the manager or senior associate on duty.Wish all retail service people were as helpful and as accommodating as this gentleman here at the San Diego location. Long story but he (a tall skinny Asian man) righted a wrongdoing by an associate an a location in a different state. And I was on a cross country motorcycle trip more than 2,100 miles away from home.

I had a great experience here. Kyle was very knowledgeable on helmets and he taught me about the different brands, types, and how they should properly fit. They have a military discount which is pretty cool. All the sales guys were really friendly and Im looking forward to going back when I need something else.

Being a brand new motorcycle rider i had no idea what i was needing or looking for in a helmet. Shelby at the San Diego Kearny Mesa branch was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We were informed by one of their associates that management knows about it and its been there since they open the location.**Ladies... be careful if you need to try any jeans on** Hope they actually do something about it. It needs to be removed!

Centrally located in Kearny Mesa. Easy parking. When it comes to gear and accessories, this is the best retailer in town. The other big guys specialize in vehicles with some gear. PLUS, CG employees are out on the floor asking if you need help. Happy with experience every time I shop there.

I came in needing level 2 armor for a new mesh jacket I picked up elsewhere. Was greeted and asked what I needed and after a brief exchange was directed to a sales associate. He was very knowledgeable and offered recommendations and offered assistance in checking the fit.Though my immediate needs were met, the associate also had a private conversation with the cashier on a personal matter.. fine, but not so much WHILE still dealing with me as a customer. I noted he did the same with another customer as well.But as far as the quality of products, timeliness and knowledge, 8 out of 10 easily.

Went here several times getting tools, parts, and protective gear for my bike. Staff has been very knowledgeable and helpful with advice for a fresh rider. They also helped me out with a tricky return, and made calls to other Cycle Gear shops to find a specific jacket in my size. As a new rider, it could be intimidating going to a motorcycle store...but my 3 times in this store has been more then impressive. Everyone is so helpful and nice (also they are dog friendly!) Need to shout out to Alex (Kearny Mesa store) who has been very patient, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about everything in the store from trailers and race suits to denim and helmets. I really enjoy going to this store and just learning more about the products.

Francisco (Frank) is always so personable and helpful. I’ve asked him for help with many products across different departments and he is so knowledgeable. Every other staff member is very nice and friendly as well, but I usually get assistance from Frank since most of my gear is in his section. This store is always well stocked and neat. Love this place and it’s staff!

I am a new rider and have had 3 great experiences at Cycle Gear in Kearny Mesa. The staff is helpful and answer happy to answer questions which is nice for a new rider who has a bunch of questions and no idea what he is looking for or needs. I signed up for the RPM membership which has basically payed for itself already (motorcycle gear is expensive but worth every penny for the protection). Their are a ton of styles even for a stocky guy like me. I also got a great deal on a helmet in the clearance section that I was very excited about. They also informed me if you have completed the Motorcycle Safety Course they will provide an additional discount of 15% on top of the 10% discount from the RPM membership and or other additional discounts. Friendly reminder from one of the staff for anyone reading this review ask to try on both gloves and hold the grips on any of the bikes in store to test actual reach and initial comfort. I learned my lesson buying a pair of expensive gloves which I did not test the full reach of my grip. Embarrassingly as it is to admit I had to return the following week to purchase a different set of more fitting gloves.

Store has great programs for reducing xost and cash back. Additionally as a new rider you get addition money off first sale. Referred by dealership becuase they knew prices were better here.Staff is very informative and helpful.Note I typically wouldve reduce the rating to 4 starts due to size availability but COVID and lower production from manufactors is a thing.Im 56 so most pants are too long and instead of suggesting a pair of pants that they had, the staff member advised me of a brand that they didnt carry to ensure proper fit and safety...so I took that as them more concerned about me than making a sale, which means Ill be going back for the other stuff I need.

Amelia was awesome! She helped me pick out a helmet for my motorcycle training class. She was patient and kind and treated me very respectfully. She gave me suggestions on what would work best, and took the time to show me all the different helmets. She went out of her way to clean and wipe down helmets before giving them to me to try. And she cleaned them after I took them off. Just goes to show that these small details really make a customer feel good about buying something in the store.
