We purchased the Soledad Medium Queen Mattress on 9/4/21. It was delivered today! The delivery staff were so careful and respectful of our home. Originally we purchased a split Ca king...we loved it so much we purchased a queen for the guest room. We have referred two other families and they are thrilled as well! Pablo, one of the owners, has been great to work with....a genuine and trustworthy Man. Very informative and no pressure sales. Always willing to go over and above with any concerns you might have. This is the best bed ever! We now own three of them. Juliana was gracious and knowledgeable when we went to purchase the mattresses. Jordan and Julian delivered them, set them up, and took away the old mattress. They did not leave a speck of trash behind. Really terrific people to work with from start to finish.

This was the best mattress buying experience from beginning to end. Starting with the salesman in the store who was not pushy at all but ver informative (he even told us to shop elsewhere and compare), to delivery. Three of the nicest deliveries guys showed up and even brought their own vacuum to clean under the bed before they set the new on up. We couldn’t be happier. Now for a good nights sleep!

In the beginning, exploring the shop in La Mesa, the representative was incredibly friendly and informative. I never felt pressured nor rushed to try out different mattresses nor make a purchase. The quality and warranties are great, and I am considering coming back for pillows! The delivery process was splendid as well. For quality and personalization, you can’t expect an overnight delivery. It worked perfectly for me because I had a vacation and move planned in the mean time. The men who made the delivery were extremely understanding when I was ten minutes late to the beginning of the window (they actually were going to be a little earlier than the “window” time most of us dread sticking around for!) and were polite and answered all of my questions during. 10/10 recommend.

I got my mattress today so I can’t say how well I like it, but I will say my experience with Mattress Makers has been stellar! I’m a “support local businesses” person so I went over to the La Mesa store to check out their product. When I learned they make all the mattresses at their own factory here in San Diego I was all in. Pablo explained the various options available and encouraged me to take my time trying out the floor models. I went home to mull it over and returned a week later to purchase a Dunlop latex mattress. My mattress was ready for delivery sooner than I expected. I actually had to delay delivery as I hadn’t ordered the foundation. When delivery day arrived the guys were here right on time. Staff was knowledgeable, patient, didnt pressure us. And the product kind of sells itself - a much more sustainable mattress product which is extremely comfortable! Plus tehre are some cool things, like if over time the material gets compressed, you can add more material to it! Or if you end up needing more soft or more firm, they can alter it to do this. The location is decorated in a lovely fashion (normally I dont notice this but they found a way to reuse common things and create a cool vibe!). They can also make custom pillows, and the manufacturing is localHonestly, we are SUPER happy with our purchase (King size mattress with the fancy base that can put the mattress into different positions or vibrate), and if we ever need another mattress, we will definitely com back here.

Let’s start with the service-excellent.They were patient as I tried the many models over and over -Gab is very knowledgeable about their products. I like that it’s a family operation and that they have been in business for many many years.Decided on the mattress for me....they construct the mattresses upon order-and it didn’t take long before it was ready for delivery. Delivery and set up was seamless. The guys took out my old mattress, box springs and frame...all with smiles! They were on time and courteous. I love my bed. I wake up each morning and pat it and appreciate the great nights sleep I had. I have never done that before. Most comfortable bed I have ever owned. I did a lot of research and finally came up with latex. Actually got the latex with coils. The minute I laid down I knew it was better and different. No off gassing. Also had two custom pillows made. Love the fact bed or pillows can be readjusted if need be. Great people. Really care for their customers. They went above and beyond with me and customer service. They listen. They care. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would, they earned it.

From the moment we arrived we had the best mattress shopping experience. I had already done a lot of research and was dreading a day of driving from store to store to try to find the perfect mattress. Mattress Makers was first on our list and needless to say we didn’t need to go anywhere else. If you want a quality product that uses natural materials, and you are local to San Diego AND you do not want to purchase over the net (and pray your mattress is exactly what you hope for), Mattress Makers is the place to shop. We went in with a budget in mind, and we came out under that budget. I narrowed my selection down to 2 mattresses and took an hour hopping back and forth between each just to be sure I did not settle (which is what happened on the last mattress we had and just replaced after 10 years). Daniel was our sales Rep and he was awesome. He just chatted while i tried each mattress, no pressure at all. My husband and i both sleep very differently so we got a split king set up. He got a firm mattress and I got the plush. We also got the adjustable bed base from them as well and their price for the exact same model is better then any price i saw on the web. When it came to delivery, they told us 10 days to 2 weeks. They delivered on day 13 just as promised. The delivery was on time and flawless. The delivery guys were great. Took the time to explain all the bells and whistles about the adjustable bed and made sure we were happy with the set up prior to them leaving. And since we are in the time of Covid I must tell you, everyone from time of sales to delivery were wearing masks and practicing social distancing. One other thing. We have very specific height requirements of how far off the ground the mattress can be. Tall beds are horrible for the disabled or just average height people and we could not go over 20 inches from floor to top of the mattress. This is not something most people think about but we must. So while doing my own measurements and working out what legs would be best to ensure our height requirements would work, the owner Gabriel called the adjustable bed rep to make sure it would work for us. They came up with an even better leg solution for us. That is going the extra mile. The only thing I’m sad about is I will not be needing a new mattress for a very long time so there is no need to go back to the store right away to see some very wonderful people. Oh and this shop is family owned. This is a very important factor as well, especially during this time of Covid. I always want to put my money with the family owned businesses.

I am a side sleeper older female with spine issues. I am very happy with my purchase from Mattress Makers. After an attempt at buying online I was happy to find a local store that sells natural latex mattresses. I spent quite a while laying on several products and asking many questions. Ive been around for seven decades and the Del Mar firm hybrid is the most comfortable mattress Ive ever slept on. Coil springs topped with a latex top affords comfortable,cool support. I can sleep on my side and together with a memory foam pillow I purchased at the same time my spine and head are in perfect alignment. Conversely I can lay on my back and read or watch tv without my hips sinking into oblivion. They have a generous selection without the dizzying assortment at other sleep shops. Juliana my contact person gave me a thorough rundown of the various construction types and left me alone to make up my own mind. No bait and switch,no upsell. They make them to order one at a time so its yours not one in a million sitting in a warehouse. Their warranty is the best in the business. Found this place online. We were looking for a short queen mattress for our travel trailer. The mattress was built in a timely manner. When we picked it up and put it in our trailer we measured it and it wasnt what we ordered. We were leaving the state in less than a week due to Wifes military orders. The Staff at Mattress Makers went above and beyond to get the replacement to us in a timely manner. The mattress is so comfy we pulled it from the trailer and now use it in our house. No problems with it being a short queen too. I would definitely recommend this company and their product. The mattess is totally worth the price too. A great investment for a great nights sleep!

On a scale of 1-5, I would give the team at Mattress Makers a 10-they are that good! We purchased their Latex mattress and it is a great product and importantly, the managers at Mattress Makers have the highest integrity. Our mattress was delivered on time and they agreed to honor a price match. They have a great Product, great Customer Service and great integrity.

Honestly we really didnt expect to make a purchase on our first visit. Wed looked already at IKEA and another large mattress chain. We were overwhelmed and just figured wed come here, get some info and then mull it over. Also we expected it to be way more expensive. We arrived about 25 minutes before they closed, but we never felt rushed. Gabriel was super helpful and got us each a pillow we liked so that we could really test out each bed and see how it would feel when we got it home. We just kind of assumed they would be expensive. They felt expensive. A good mattress that youll love and will last isnt going to be cheap. Wed resigned ourselves to spending some money, but figured itd be worth it. So imagine our surprise when we got a bed, two pillows, mattress cover, and adjustable base for nearly $1000 less than the mattress chain store had quoted! Its more than youll pay at IKEA, but from all the reviews we read, we feel very confident in our purchase. They seem very intent on making sure youre pleased with your purchase from them. The shopping experience was so pleasant, cant wait for our new bed to be delivered. Hopefully Ill remember to update my review after Ive enjoyed our bed for a couple of months.

Theyre very accommodating. If youre looking for a latex or latex hybrid mattress, these guys are great. You can check out mattresses and firmness in the store. And they can adjust the firmness of your mattress after the sale. Pablo was very patient, and gave us a solid deal.

We purchased a mattress from Mattress Makers a year and a half ago when we moved to San Diego. I can’t remember the name of the model, but it’s a wonderful combination of traditional springs and memory foam. Every night we get to lay on that thing is pure bliss. Our in-store experience was excellent and unpressured and the delivery service was top-notch as well. I don’t anticipate needing another mattress any time soon but I am sorry to know that the next time we do we’ll be living on the opposite side of the country and we won’t be able to visit Mattress Makers.

I liked that Sam did not pressure us. He took his time to educate us on their product. Then allowed us to try out the various mattress types. He was patient, and listened to all our concerns. In the end, We chose the Del Mar Hybrid Plush and are very satisfied so far. Excellent quality mattress, at a reasonable price, with exemplary customer service and delivery. We decided to go to Mattress Makers after we couldn’t find anything comfortable enough at the big-name mattress stores (the sales person at this store even talked up Mattress makers when we told them we were going there). This is the most comfortable bed I’ve owned. It feels good knowing that this is a more natural product, and that you’re supporting a local business that manufactures nearby. In addition, the tencel sheets feel amazing, and the customizable pillows are awesome – I love my king-sized pillow with latex filling! I’ll definitely come back here to buy future mattresses for my house.

First off, I love my mattress. I have had several friends and family members spend the night on it since I’ve bought it, and they all say it’s one of the most comfortable mattresses they’ve ever slept on. And, after weeks of pretty extensive research and visiting other local retailers, I don’t think one could find a better price on a mattress of this quality.Secondly, my experience buying from them was awesome. There is no pressure when you walk into their store. I bought a very soft mattress from them initially, and after over 100 days (!) of sleeping on it, even though it was very comfortable, I decided I wanted something more firm. They replaced it for free, no questions asked, and I really couldn’t be happier with my current mattress.This is an honest, family owned business that fully understands their products and can articulate to you why they’re great, as well as provide top notch customer service.

This company claims High Density material but when I emailed them for the numeric value (i.e. PCF), they went silent on me (time stamped by Facebook chat so I know theyve read it). I even sent them a reminder message in case they forgot. They read my reminder message and ignored me again.First of all, this is really unprofessional. Secondly, if the mattress truly was high density, why are they hiding the numeric value? Lastly, this raises question about their honesty.Now I cant claim the company as a whole is unethical but approach this company with caution because at least 1 person in this company seems to be unethical.

I havent bought a mattress from them yet, but I am definitely going to. The product is excellent, the prices are reasonable and the sales people do not work on commission. This is a nice low-key showroom.

Sam was knowledgeable, patient and extremely conscientious. As a customer, I invest considerable effort in researching the retailer and the product. Mattress Makers has a good selection of quality mattresses and the ability to customize. We selected two twin Del Mar hybrids (3-inch natural Talalay on top of quality pocket coils); one plush and one medium. They provide free delivery and haul away and the service is what other retailers would call white glove. We have enjoyed several weeks of the most comfortable sleep ever.

Wow! Excellent service and quality products. Im really impressed. I can tell everyone here cares about their business and customers.I went to the store several times to try mattresses while I was deciding. Every time they were welcoming and friendly. You can just lay on the mattress and relax too. No sales pitch or anything like that. They are very knowledgeable and will answer any questions. Overall relaxing experience. Sam and Pablo were both awesome! Then when I had my mattress delivered I was really impressed with Daniel and Jordan. They were both so nice and careful. I just had my carpets cleaned so they were more than happy to wear the foot coverings going back and forth. They were quick but didnt seem like they were rushed at all.For the mattress, it is so comfortable! With any new mattress, your body has to get used to it first. Im a very light sleeper and wake up throughout the night but with my last mattress I was constantly waking up then sore in the morning. Right now this is the first time I woke up without being super sore in months. I definitely woke up a few times wondering where I was lol but I woke up way less often. I can tell already once I get used to it that Im going to feel a lot more refreshed. They said it might take up to 30 days for my body to totally adjust so they also have a policy that if youre not happy with it still then they take care of it for you. I dont think it will be an issue at all got me, because the materials all seem very quality. I have a very strong sense of smell so the first few hours it the memory foam/flow foam was strong. When I took a nap it was bothering me but was expected. When I got my first mattress 10 years ago from somewhere else the memory foam smell was very strong for a week. Already with this one the new bed smell decreased so much! By the time I went to bed it didnt bother me at all! Im really surprised as I expected it to bother me for the next few days.One of the really awesome aspects is their warranty and care service. After the standard warranty/within 10 years, if I want to replace the flow foam layer in the bed they have that as an à la carte option in the warranty. It is such a good price that it would be absolutely worth it if I didnt want to replace the whole thing. When I was initially looking at mattresses, I was looking at cost saving options such as big box stores and chains. The big box option I couldnt try the mattress out and I saw a lot of reviews about issues with it once it arrives/not what people expect. Sounded like a pain to return in the least. So what I love about Custom Mattress Makers is they make everything so easy. They want you to leave happy and they want you to love their product as much they as do. Not only did they encourage me to try the mattress as many times as I wanted and as long as I wanted they seemed happy to see me in again. I knew for sure what I was getting before I bought it. Delivery was great, helpful, and they removed my old mattress. I can tell if there was any issues at all theyd happily amend it. So for cost saving vs quality, I think it is absolutely worth it to go with this option. Id save some money on a big box store, but who knows if Id even like it. Then Id probably just have to replace it in half the time and spend more anyway. Then with the chain stores is it is about the same price but without the same kind of service and definitely more pressure/sales tactics.Overall, this is worth you time and investment. Its easy to forget how investing into your bed can make or break your every day. Im so happy I found this place!

If you are looking into buying a bed but do not want to go through the stress of high pressure salesmen, go to Mattress Makers. Honestly one of the best buying experience to date. I had bought one of those big name mattress that kills the wallet looking to get a better night sleep. I was not getting the sleep I had hoped for but I was lying to myself saying it just needs to break in, a year later I came to my senses and decided to sell it and find a mattress to do the job.My wife and I came into Mattress Makers and literally tried every bed they had to offer and then came in a second day and did it all over again, Sam was extremely patient and very knowledgeable with any questions we had about any of the beds. We told him our sleeping habits and he narrowed our search to beds that complimented them.My wife and I ended up with one of the softer ones they had to offer, which is their natural latex Presido Plush. This bed is incredible, extremely soft but still supports you (which I thought it was either one or the other) We paired this with custom pillows to our preference in store with a station they have that no other store around offers. Cannot tell you how many pillows we have gone through but now we have a custom made one that is perfect for us.Delivery was quick and easy, Our delivery guys (Isai and Uriel) were very polite, asked if we wanted them to wear shoe covers, then took a look where the mattress was going before they prepared to move the mattress upstairs, they were in and out in about a half hour.We finally have a bed and pillow combo that gives us a great night sleep every time. The environment at Mattress Makers is friendly and comfortable, they have everything well organized and the way they present their different products is easy to follow and unique and their prices are a lot more affordable versus the competition. You absolutely have to go here if you are in the market.
