Located in North Park right next to Pop Pie Co. They are owned by the same people! You can tell that they are passionate about their craft. The rotating list of seasonal flavors is indicative of that. What immediately caught my eye was the Ube + Pan de Sal and Mango Sticky Rice flavors. I couldnt decide so I got both! The flavors are so bold and well defined! The waffle cone had something extra in it, I couldnt figure it out; cinnamon or maybe it was something else. I regret not getting a pint to take home!
Our go to place for ice cream in San Diego. All ice creams are hand made and the flavors changes seasonally. This place is very creative. Every time I come by here, they’ve never failed to wowed me with the new creative flavors. So far, the sticky rice mango and ube flavor ice creams are my favorites. Although the sticky rice mango ice cream does not tasted exactly like the real Thai sticky rice mango desert, but it’s close enough to allow me to enjoy such exotic deserts without adding whole bunch of sugars to my diet. I was glad that they told the ice cream was all plant base. I felt less guilty eating ice cream here. The ube ( purple yam) flavor reminds me of the ice creams I had in Japan. I love the texture and the ube flavor.Lines tend to get very long in the evening. So come early to get your favorite ice cream. Who knows, they may have already come up with some surprise flavors by the time you get there.
Cute little ice cream shop with big flavours and even bigger portions. I’ve had a fair few ice creams in my time but I have to say this probably was one of the best ice creams I’ve had, the flavours were authentic (close your eyes and you could be eating mango sticky rice) and portions huge - probably best to share! We will be back I’m sure
The pineapple upside down cake ice cream is amazing. Cake pieces throughout and great pineapple flavor. Tried 3 different flavors from here and this was the best by far. All ice cream flavors were delicious.
I was excited to learn this ice cream shop had a few different vegan ice cream options when looking at their website online. So we went to the shop and nothing advertised online was available (vegan flavor wise). I then was informed they were not doing samples and the flavors that they did have were not ideal for myself personally. But I gave it a shot anyway and was not happy with my purchase. I will try again at a later date, make sure to call to confirm the flavors and that they are doing samples prior to making the drive next time.
The Ice Cream here was so good! Nice, thick, and creamy. We had just made it before they werent taking any customers. Overall guest service was excellent.
LOLWhen you’re so excited to try new ice cream flavors you forget to snap a pic before going ham!Pictured is a split single, with 2 flavors, in a waffle cone. The two flavors I chose which could be considered the more popular ones were the ube pandesal (bottom scoop) and mango sticky rice (top scoop). The ube had toffee bits in every lick. What I appreciated was how this place has vegan recipes as well, which the mango sticky rice is! I’m lactose intolerant so yes, I shouldn’t have tried the ube pandesal but I could not resist! I hope to come back again soon
This place is ridiculously good!! Every flavor Ive tried is amazing. My personal favorite is the peach pecan, then strawberry crumble. They have great options for vegan and gf. Plus the waffle cones are made gluten free
Cant believe how delicious and reasonably priced their ice cream is! I got the matcha pistachio one in a waffle cone and was completely blown away! The sweetness level is perfect, since I find the default sweetness in the USA to be too much in most places. Stella Jeans has nailed it. Their waffle cone is amazing as well, Ive never had anything like it. Definitely going to ask them how they did it.Another unbelievable thing is how good their vegan flavors are. They said they use oatmilk and coconut I believe. I cant believe how close it tasted to ice cream with milk.Overall, an awesome place to grab that ice cream at!
It was my first visit & I wanted to try 2 flavors, but didnt want 2 scoops of ice cream. I was happy to see that they offer a single split scoop. I had the double chocolate & toasted butter pecan.on a sugar cone. It was a creamy scoop of deliciousness. I will definitely be back!
This is somewhere you can find the ube flavor ice cream, its not only the best seller but also really delicious. I would even more highly recommend the earl grey flavor!! It has super strong taste of tea and not too sweet at all.
Great and creative flavors. The cones are super delicious! Totally worth getting a cone! Apparently, if you get one scoop, you can make it a half scoop so you get to try two flavors. Definitely worth trying to satisfy your sweet tooth. This place is connected to the Chicken Pie shop so you can get your grub on on one side and then get dessert next door!
Tasty, fancy ice cream shop. Its a little pricy (starts at $4.50 for a single scoop) but its all super quality ingredients. And to be honest, one scoop is all you need. The flavors are so rich. Plus, they let you taste one or two before deciding! I also love that theyre consciously environmental too....their cups are recycled biodegradable, their spoons are either metal (taster spoons) that get rewashed/sanitized or potato based (instead of plastic). 👍
This is hands down, the best ice cream we’ve ever had. I wish I could express it better but it’s something that has to be tried in person. Their flavors are exotic and quite delicious. We got their Ube (Taro) with Pandesal Toffee and the Mango Sticky Rice. I wasn’t sure what to expect from these two flavors until it we tried it.Ube with Pandesal Toffee - the sweetness was subtle, which is harder to accomplish than outright overwhelmingly sweet type of ice cream. The Toffee provided a nice hint of saltiness to it. This was my favorite flavor!Mango Sticky Rice - I had no idea what to expect from this. Sure we’ve had mango sticky rice as a dessert at Thai restaurants but as an ice cream?! Let me tell you, the mix is incredible. The mango flavoring is fresh and the rice flavoring mixes really well with it.These two are our favorite combos to get!
Three words: mango sticky rice. I taste the other flavors whenever I stop in and always end up going with a scoop of mango sticky rice. I indulge in ice cream more than I care to admit but Stella Jean’s has some of the best ice cream of the trendy artisanal ice cream shops. A must-try for ice cream lovers.
Went here with the family on National Ice Cream Day. Line was so long but we entertained oursves while we waited. When we finally got inside, staff was super friendly, service was fast, and ice cream was really good! The waffle cones are homemade and tasted great! Would definitely recommend this place!
So good! Best vegan ice cream I ever had and amazing waffle cones. Regular ice cream was good too. Unique flavors, very yummy.
Amazing ice cream. Unique and mouthwatering flavors. So worth a visit from wherever you have to drive from!
Wonderful experience where my friend and I didnt know there were Asian flavors and she was on the hunt for that. So that pleased her greatly; the double chocolate and freshly made waffle cones made me happy.
Absolutely delicious ice cream! So many fun flavors to choose fun and a great selection of vegan flavors as well!
Delicious ice cream! Creative flavors. Everything we had was amazing. They somehow got the smores to have a smoky taste like what you would get with roasted marshmallows 😋
Get the Ube halaya (purple yam) scoop with sugar cone (.50 cent xtra). Very tasty ice creme ive had in awhile. A delightful gem tucked pn a main street in Hillcrest. Street parking only and can be a long line when arriving. They have a nice patio outside with plenty of seating. Look for the building with a sky blue mural painting on the side
The ice creams are good. The experience is great!
Omg love this spot. Depending on my mood, I love the ube pandesal OR anything they have with Mango!!!
I tried the mango sticky rice (vegan) ice cream and my partner got the mostra coffee ice cream. He loved that there wasn’t an overwhelming coffee flavor to his and I loved mango flavor! The real star was the fresh waffle cone with mapleI can’t wait to come back and try all the vegan flavors, I was impressed that they have more than one option.
Amazing staff, the best ice cream flavors (+ perfect seasonal choices), and outdoor seating. Even with a small line outside, it moved quickly.
Saw this place right next to pop pie so had to check it out. You can smell their waffle cones from outside and its a definite must get. There are multiple flavors but theyre all unique with different add ons added into the ice cream.
Salty caramel was the best, per my partner. Brown butter pecan was delightful.
The salted caramel corn is perhaps the best ice cream I’ve ever had. It ticks all the boxes: texture, temperature, serving size, mouth feel and, best of all, taste... sweet and complex without that 80’s cloying candy gimmickry. Not sure if Stella is a person or a corporate facade, (judging from the lack of info about her on the website), but regardless— Hell, irregardless, she’s Bringing it! Thanks Stella.
Stella Jean - you could probably be in Oprah’s favorite thingsThough as a fan, I’m getting tired of the same flavors. I know you switch a few a around. But it’s been a couple of months (like 8) and I’m still seeing the same flavors. Maybe your website isn’t updated?Last 4/1/2021, I ordered 9 pints - all different flavors. Everybody like the strawberry crunch. ButI have to say that your milk+cookies was sub par. If you need a taste-tester for your new flavors, I’ll be a good judge as this milk+cookies flavor has gots to go.
Absolutely amazing 👏🏾 The best waffle cone Ive ever had! Turns it was vegan & gluten free. I paired it with scoop of Salted Carmel Corn, and scoop of Brown Butter Pecan. My girlfriend had strawberry oat crumble. Which was surprisingly delicious as well. I had couple bites. 😅 Do yourself of a favor get some!
Vegans and GF foodies rejoice, this place has delicious flavors! I have visited every week since discovering Stella Jeans haha.
Love this place! Quick and courteous employees. Ice cream is amazing you definitely get your monies worth. They have unique flavor to choose from but I have to say Ube is my favorite hands down. This time I tried one of their seasonal flavors, pineapple upside down cake perfect for those hot summer nights like tonight I did a spit scoop of that with the ube which was plenty because last.time I did double scoops as they are very generous was a little too much for me. But overall you can never go wrong here theres always a line but the wait is short. I drive all the way from Eastkake to satisfy my sweet tooth. And once you try it youll see why.😊
A neighbor gave me the best pint i every eat.
Great ice creams.. I miss lavender honey. Make more pls..
Tasty ice cream, good service, and good set up outside to enjoy. Great place to stop over and cool off on a hot day in San Diego
Try the black extra for a special treat! This is a chocolate explosion in your body =) You cant go wrong with any of the flavors. Exceptional ice cream experience
Rich, simple and luscious ice cream. No gimmicks or crazy toppings
Honestly the best ice cream I’ve ever had in San Diego. The customer service is great, the aesthetic of the place is refreshing, and the ice cream was absolutely superb.I got the mango sticky rice and ube pandesal toffee, very iconic Southeast Asian desserts. These two together were absolutely beautiful. The mango sticky rice is sweet, yet has some toastiness from the rice. The ube was lush, decadent, and the pandesal toffee tied everything together. I honestly recommend just getting these two flavors, because you won’t really find these flavors anywhere else. They’re not accepting cash at this time, so make sure you have a credit card/Apple Pay ready!
Really liked the ice cream. Tried black and white sesame and brown butter pecan and vanilla. All great. Service was awesome too. Definitely worth a try if looking for good ice cream.
Have not found a flavor that I would not but again. Get the pineapple upside down cake while you can.
We really enjoyed it. The homemade waffle cones were worth it.
Perfect ice cream - try the black extra! This is an explosion of chocolate in your body =) You can not pick the wrong flavour. Outstanding experience with ice cream
A completely unique array. The establishment is exceptionally clean & well-presented. Every single flavour on offer almost wanted to try a scoop and found it hard to only stick to one.
The best ice cream ever. My friends told me about this place. I saw a long line when I went there. But I got in line which really didnt take that long. And OMG, I couldnt believe how awesome it was. My friends were right. Im going back.
A elevated Baskin Robbins. Great ice cream.
I had the dbl chocolate. I shouldve had the ube and toffee. THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CASH!!
The black forest cake vegan ice cream is so so good. Waffle cones are vegan as well and are so delicious. I miss the spimoni - I hope they bring it back one day. Favorite ice cream spot and glad it is within walking distance!
👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎WAYYYYYYYYY TO MUCH SUGAR, all the hype to end up dissapointed. I couldnt enjoy the flavor because of the overpowering flavor of sugar, i ordered the banana toffee and mango sticky, i couldnt believe how much sugar they use, way to much sugar, no flavor, just massive amounts of sugar, wayyyy to sweet. These people dont know how to make ice cream
The aroma of earl grey is so great 🤩 So sad that they dont have pints for special flavor like this😢
Ben and jerrys ice cream is better. But if must over pay for ice cream I would recommend salt and straw.
Best ice cream shop in town. The ube pandesal is amaaaaazing, and so is the s’mores.
It’s pretty good. Not the best I’ve had. Certainly not almost $40 for 3 pints good. Just not as flavorful as one would hope. Dig the vegan options though I didn’t try any. May give it another go with some other choices.
Love this place! Interesting flavors!
Yummy ice cream. Sweet employees. Quick service.
Delish double chocolate and waffle cone. Very rich flavor
Absolutely amazing ice cream.
First time to Stella Jeans Ice Cream. I really like their unique flavors. Service was great also. Ill definitely be going there again.
Absolutely delicious!! Fresh and very flavorful. Each of the flavors are spot on and some are pretty creative, like the honey rosemary orange zest and the earl grey citrus cake. Plus its service with a smile and they let you try any of the flavors to ensure that you are making the right choice. Very kid-friendly as well! A must-go!
This is really good ice cream, with both bonkers exciting flavors and old favorites.
Ice cream is delicious. Service good, but felt rushed. Politely pushy.
Absolutely delicious and unique flavors. I cannot wait for our next visit!
A bit pricey. Limited choices. Service was a little slow, but friendly.
I love their vegan options! (Though Ive never tried their dairy options to be able to compare.)Regardless, its great that the matcha seems to be one of their year-round selections.
Fantastic ice cream. I got the s’mores and it was delicious.
Fantastic ice cream, weird line organization. I would recommend eating here
Best ice cream and staff in America
Great artisan ice cream. Wonderful service and always fantastic creamy goodness found inside. The flavors are insane.
Very nice ice cream with many choices. It is not expensive and location is good. Must visit if you want deserts. Perfect flavors, not too sweet and great prices.
We saw a number of shops selling ice cream... No home-made ones. Chocolate Ice Cream was on top of the bill, really. Every flavor was great... you had to go and try your home-made ice cream.
Delish 🍨✔
Great tasting and vegan options!
