This pharmacy does not answer their phone. Go literally anywhere else if you need repeating prescriptions or legitimate help of any kind. Awful.

I usually go to Walgreens for quick shopping but beware, their price are dollar more than Walmart and Target, i already know a lot of product are costing more here, the only good thing is you dont needto wait in line like walmart.

Never used for the pharmacy, but for the photo department store. They always have a good amount of clearance and photos are always ready on time.Clean and well stocked store with plenty of parking. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby too.

I wish I read the reviews before I picked this pharmacy to fill a script. I thought I would have an experience consistent with other Walgreens but,...no. Slow disorganized frustrating service. Ill never be back. Like the other reviewer said, pick literally anywhere else.

Terrible customer service in the Pharmacy this afternoon. The Pharm Tech kept saying she was confused at my order and talking over me for five minutes — ok then bring me someone not easily confused and willing to listen to my needs. Don’t waste both of our times.

So many problems Im unsure where to start! I call to double check on my Rxs to make sure its not a wasted trip. I called in my refills 4 days earlier AND contacted both of my Doctors offices to ensure follow through but Walgreens has no record of anything and then tells me they dont have one of my other Rx in stock so I have to go calling around to hunt down WHICH Walgreens has it!!! Mind you Ive been getting both these RXs there for years! Long story shorter, its days later and I still do not have either of my RXs. Time to change Pharmacies

Pharmacy is GREAT and not often crowded. The store is clean but like all Walgreens, there is rarely anyone there to check you out.

If you also had a terrible experience here, please notify your doctors so that they can recommend an alternative pharmacy to other patients. My doctor was horrified when I told her about my experience. Besides hostile employees, this pharmacy does nothing to assist its customers. I unfortunately had to go here on two different occasions (and most unfortunately, deal with the same pharmacy technician). When I called for my prescription, they took my contact information and told me I could pick it up a few hours later. Once I arrived, they hadnt filled it because my doctor specified a specific generic brand, and the pharmacist told me that they cant choose which generic they get. I asked them what brand they had instead, and they hadnt even checked to see if the requested brand was in stock (it was). So then they started filling the order. The next time I had to go back, I needed to submit my insurance information (the first time was not processed through insurance). The pharmacy tech was extremely unhelpful, and I had to show him several different cards and numbers (going through all the websites associated with my insurance plan), until he finally told me what number he needed and I was able to find it. All together, going to this pharmacy is an unpleasant waste of time. Go somewhere else instead.

I have called this Walgreens Pharmacy on Balboa 9 times during the past three days, but have not been able to get through. I am currently waiting on hold 65 minutes as I write this. Questionable business model at best!

Only one automated phone number for both the store and pharmacy. It takes too much time to go through the automated system to reach the pharmacy. Then once you are connected to the pharmacy, you are on hold for a ridiculous amount of time (9 minutes all together) On the positive side....the staff at this pharmacy is wonderful and very helpful. They would be more productive if they had a dedicated phone number!

This Walgreens is in a good location, next to a Boston Market and a Starbucks. Which means food and coffee and toiletries in one trip. So much win. Northern California expats will enjoy the fact that their rewards phone number still works in so-cal. Decent array of deodorants, shave items, nail caretaking, kids section. The tools and car stuff area is decent if you need an emergency thing of tape, wrench, or a light bulb, but the prices will have you wanting to buy online. Still, its neighborhood convenient and you can get scripts filled here.

Went in to do a money transfer for Western Union. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes! Great service and very knowledgeable staff.

Would give it zero stars if possible. This pharmacy has lost prescriptions(yes plural) that the doctor HAS called in, making it necessary to contact the doctor again and then having to go back to get them filled. In addition, the hours are for their convenience, not for the patients convenience. You can not pick up your prescription on your way to work or over your lunch hour. They do not open till 9am and they close for lunch.

Dont go here idiots havent updated online that their pharmacy is not open 24 hrs. then you ask what time they open, the people that work there say 8 but dont know that there is no one there. then the day oh they open at 9 when all their signs say 8 wth. whos in charge of this place. worse customer service.

Absolutely worst pharmacy I’ve ever used! Customer service is horrible and I’ve actually had Jenny lie to my face about my prescriptions! I knew she was lying and called her out on it. Her reasoning? They’re oh so busy and so many customers! Just say drop it off it’ll be 2 hours but don’t lie and say insurance denied it when you never even ran it! (Easy enough to check called the ins co to see why it was decried and it was never processed!). The only good thing in that pharmacy was Steven he worked hard was kind and genuinely tried to help but he could only do so much alone. Save your time go elsewhere.

Giving two stars only because management in the actual store was very apologetic and understanding. But this rating is for the pharmacy. First off, I didnt realize they closed at 6pm until 530pm, I had a very important prescription called in around 330 for my daughters heart. I got in line a couple minutes before 6pm and when they were done with the car infront of me they closed the blinds and put up a sign stating they were closed. I rang the phone anyway, explained the situation and they told me they didnt fill the perscription yet but I can call the Walgreens in El Cajon to fill it, after I asked it they would transfer it. So I call El Cajon and sure enough, Genesee location didnt even put it in their system so they werent even able to see it. It is pretty frustrating that they person who should have helped me couldnt be bothered to put in the prescription even after I explained the importance of it. I get it, you closed at 6pm. Im a server and get annoyed everytime someone comes in at 1145pm to order dinner right before we close at 12 but I always keep a smile on my face and do my job to the best of my abilities. Very frustrated and will not be giving them my business in the future, I will drive out of my way right on passed them to El Cajon. Thanks for making my life just a tad more difficult.

This store is horrible!!! The lady in the pharmacy said my prescription was denied. I knew this was not true since I had called and spoken with my personal doctor in Utah. She kept repeating this answer and I asked to speak to the pharmacist. The pharmacist said the person dealing with me hadnt been trained. Why was she dealing with clients then?The pharmacist then looked and said she had not heard from my doctor. I called my doctor who is a person friend and then attempted to have the pharmacist talk with my doctor. . The lady who was listening to me said the pharmacist was not available. My doctor assured me that my refill had been sent to this store.Please, find another store; this one does not deserve your business. I would give in zero stars it that was possible.

Small walgreens. Manager was cool and staff was ok. They should smile a bit more though. Store is always moving product in and out so its tough to get around sometimes. Pretty busy certain times of the day too.

Not sure about the negative reviews - Ive been using them for years for all of our family and they have always been wonderful. Cheerful, helpful, knowledgeable, accommodating with our insurance.

Ive never had so many problems getting prescriptions filled. With Tricare forcing veterans to switch from CVS, you would think that they would increase their staff to support all of the extra business but it doesnt seem so. I went in on Saturday and 3 out of 6 people had problems with our prescriptions. They only had three people working so it took about thirty minutes for me to find out that my problem would not get resolved until Monday because they did not have our insurance information. We called on Sunday to make sure they had all of the information they needed and they explained that they had it all along and that we could pick it up then. No call letting us know that the issue was taken care of, so we would not of known that it was taken care of if she didnt call. Thats just one issue we have with this store. Ive read reviews on other Walgreens, so we will try one of them next time.

ATTENTION! WARNING, WARNING,I am a person that takes three different types of anti depressants medication, two of my medications are controlled substance and on 13th of June 2016 i came to this pharmacy to fill to my prescription, After two days I realized that two of my controlled substance medication had been tampered with meanning that three pills from both medicines are gone. Last time I was wondering why my medication had not lasted to the end of the month now I know what is going on. I am not sure if this is defined as criminal activity but I hope the authorities catch way or what might be going on. I suggest that whoever you dear people who are reading this review, if you decided to go to this pharmacy make sure you COUNT your medication.

Had a prescription forwarded there by my doc. Came on Fri, April 11. Was told my prescription was forwarded to a different pharmacy, which is now closed and will be closed until Monday. Just come back on Monday, well call them and have them forward it here. Ok. Came back on Monday. Different dude tells me they have the prescription but I have to pay full price because it will take at least 10 days for something to go through somewhere...And no, he cant call the other pharmacy. What? Had my doc forward the prescription to a different pharmacy.

There were sooo many mistakes I finally switched to pharmacy that I feel cares about my health, is trained properly, friendly and is knowledgeable about my prescriptions and billing.

Do not go here if you need life saving drugs! They will not get your order correct and they dont care if they dont.Worst customer service ever for such a critical part of someones life.

I came here at 1:00pm on a Saturday afternoon and the pharmacy was closed. I returned at 6:05 that evening and it was closed again. This pharmacy has worse working hours than my bank does.
