This used to be a great office. We began going to this office about 2 and a half years ago. I was so impressed by the friendliness of the staff. In the last year that changed drastically. The friendly staff is no where to be found. I have dealt with several rude associates and have now changed offices.

I have been a patient of Dr Howards for over 25 years. I wouldnt go anywhere else for eye care. His staff is very friendly and helpful. Dr Howards examinations are up date technology. They have a great selection of frames. I just cant say enough good things about them. I recommend all my friends to Dr Howard.

I was in a real jam for some contact lenses, and the eye care plus staff was extremely friendly and hooked me up with my lenses, same-day. Knowledgeable and understanding crew... I definitely recommend eye care plus for all optical needs.

Recently went back in for my check-up and told Dr.Robert that my contacts had been irritating me some lately. He checked things out and then suggested trying a few different types of lenses. He gave me trials of 2 different types, told me to try them out over the next few weeks and then give him a call when I decided which one I preferred. To me, thats customer service and a doctor who cares. Im happy to say that the lenses Im now using have been much more comfortable.

I have been coming to Dr. Howards office to get my glasses and contacts for 10 years. Where else can you get frames and lenses for $50! Yes, thats right $50! Of course they have fancier, more expensive frames but for me these are fine. I have always received exceptional service from the whole staff but especially from Socorro. She just brightens everyones day!

The doctors is really great . But the two older miserable older woman who work the front desk are uneducated, and rude, and argumentative. They are easily confused with insurance and billing , and the older lady who wears the white coat argued with me for 30 mins about my benefits saying she doubts it will cover everything and I said I know it will . She said to prove me wrong she will call the insurance provider and she called and they told her it coveres everything. She did not apologized and just had a rude smirk on her face the rest of the time .My second visit was worse. I walked out mid conversation. Won’t give my business to rude people.

I have been a customer of Dr. Robert Howard for many years. He is a very warm and friendly individual who goes out of his way to make one feel at home at his eyecare center. There is food and water for all who come in and a friendly staff that reflects the friendliness of Dr. Howard. On my last visit, for glasses, I was given the choice to wait for my glasses or come back. I waited for a total of 20 minutes and then left with my new glasses in hand. I also was able to try new contacts which correct for the astigmatism I have. I will always return to Dr. Howards.

My experience at EyeCare Plus with Dr. Robert M. Howard was the worst eye care experience my husband and I have ever had despite each having worn glasses for more than 20 years. My husband and I went to get our eyes checked on late last month. My husband had his vision checked for glasses, while I also had a contact fitting. My husband wears glasses full time and used the prescription provided by Dr. Howard to order glasses from another retailer whose frames he preferred. When the glasses arrived however the prescription was extremely uncomfortable. After confirming with the retailer that the glasses indeed had the prescription prescribed by Dr. Howard, we scheduled a recheck with Dr. Howard to confirm the prescription. When I called to make this appointment I told them that we were ordering the glasses elsewhere, and they assured me the recheck appointment would be free of charge. At the recheck, Dr. Howard said the original prescription was correct and then proceeded to charge him a $45 fee, and said that we had been misinformed. My husband went to another optometrist for an appointment and was given a different prescription, that is in fact correct and he is now happy with the new glasses. It is troubling that Dr. Howard could give the wrong prescription in the first place, but to be unwilling to change it when a patient finds it to be unwearable due to the discomfort, and then charge a fee despite being told the appoint would be free, is very disturbing and insulting. My prescription seemed to be fine, but when I went to order contacts from another vendor, Dr. Howard’s office called and said I had to come back in for another fitting. Although I had told Dr. Howard at my appointment that I was going to order Acuvue contact lenses, he did not fit me for those, would not give my my contact prescription as required to by law, and stated I would have to come back in. I scheduled an appointment to refit the contact lenses at 11:30am on the coming Saturday, so I could have contacts delivered as soon as possible. On the day of my appointment, at 9:45am, less than 2 hours before my appointment, Dr. Howard’s office called to cancel my appointment, since I had mentioned we were unhappy with our previous experience. This is not only inconvenient; it’s unprofessional to cancel an appointment with this short of a notice. I now need to find another optometrist as soon as possible so as to not run out of contacts. Please do not go to Dr. Howard at Eye Care Plus, his practice is unprofessional, subpar, and dishonest.

Purchased a pair of prescription sunglasses with a scratch-proof coating that came with a lifetime warranty. The lenses became scratched and I brought them back to have them replaced. The first replacement lenses came in, and they didnt fit the frames. The second pair of lenses came in, and they werent polarized. The third pair came in, and again they didnt fit my frames.Instead of calling the lab who had messed up their order three times, Dr Howards technician told me I should reach out to my HR department and tell them Im unhappy with my insurance. They wouldnt use that lab if it werent for my insurance. Thanks for wasting three trips to and from your store, so that you could offend me by insinuating its my employers fault that you couldnt get the correct replacement lenses (3 times).I asked the Doctor to call me, and have not yet heard from him.My father goes to Walmart. Hes had his lenses replaced multiple times, and they never needed his frames to do it. The lesson here is that Walmart gives you far better quality and customer service than Eye Care Plus.
