One of my favorite coffee spots in San Diego. There are fun flavors all the time but the seasonal ones are amazing. The bagel of the month gives you the option to try new things even though the continuous menu is delicious. It’s a good spot to hang out and get some work done as well.

A wonderful cafe with a lovely staff!! Once I discovered this place I ended up going 4 times in two days. Loved their take on a white chocolate mocha and the london fog latte. Foodbwas fantastic. The bagel sandwiches are very delicious and very generously filled. Generally, Im not a huge fan of bagels but theirs werent the typical hard, dense pieces of flavorless dough. Lots of varieties in flavors too. Big thanks to the kind barista with the undercut who made my a lot day better after a minor inconvenience with my first order!Do note that they seem to be pretty busy on the weekdays when most people are in Downtown for work so order ahead of time or be prepared to wait a while for food.

Exceptional bagels and really good coffee drinks. I thought my breakfast sandwich was just ok (Mclovin) but she loved the sandieggo. Bagels come heavy on the cream cheese but are perfectly baked and delicious. I got adventurous and tried the bacon and white cheddar and it was delicious. Basic witch drink was a hit with my wife and I got an iced cinabee which needed to be shaken a bit but had nice light flavors and was refreshing as an early morning beverage. It’s also nice that you can sit outside and look at the bay. Service staff was very friendly and accommodating as well.

Bad bagels. Thats going to be our lasting impression of this chain. These are the worst value for bagels Ive ever seen; $4.75 apiece for overboiled bagels. If you get the sack deals its a much better price. Sadly we didnt get to look at them before we got home since there are no bagels visible out front and they use a pastry box, and now we know why. The cinnamon raisin bagels were solid and thats where the second star comes from.Cant speak to the quality of the coffee but people seem to like it.

Legit best bagel sandwich I’ve ever had, best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. Order the Mclovin on a French toast bagel and prepare to be sent into flavor euphoria. Paired it with a cup of black drip and was not disappointed. The coffee was fresh and bold but smooth, didn’t need to be hindered or dressed up with any fluffy nonsense. Enjoyed this with my 14 year old daughter, she loved it just as much as I did. Perfect beginning to our day on the bay!

Fantastic coffee and bagels. Definitely not a N.Y. style bagel, it’s a softer bread texture, not as chewy. But if you can get over that, the food is delightful. I have never been served avocado toast with such a generous portion of avocado! They must put an entire avocado or more on each side! Order with a fried egg and bacon for real perfection. The baristas really know their stuff and craft a perfectly balanced espresso drink. Highly recommend especially on a lovely morning when they have the large bay windows open.

I’m so happy with this and it’s not just a caffeine buzz. I came here in 2016 or 2017 shortly after they opened for a breakfast date and we were both disappointed in the quality, pricing and service so we never came back despite living around the corner. I’ve since moved away and always wondered how they stayed in business. Well. Today out of “desperation” I came back in all these years later and AM SO HAPPY!!!! It’s like a completely different establishment and I will so come back AND recommend this place. Jules at the register was polite, competent, patient, knowledgeable and basically anything else you could ask for in a barista. NOT PRETENTIOUS AT ALL LIKE IT USED TO BE. She helped me clumsily navigate Apple Pay which they do take here, and order the perfect breakfast. I got drip coffee and a toasted everything “bagel” with fried egg + 2 kinds of cheese 🤤 it was so good I basically ate it all before I could get a pic. They also serve kombucha on tap and I can’t wait to try it. Just don’t go in expecting New York bagels but go in expecting a delicious breakfast sandwich in the shape of a bagel and you will be a happy camper. Thank you guys for making my morning!!!!!!!!!!!!-Jade from Long Island #631

Came in around 945 on a Saturday morning. The line was pretty long but moved at a good pace. Coffee was excellent. Cashier was friendly and knowledgeable. When I told her I was celiac she went over the options for the gluten free bread. I had the San diego sandwich on un-toasted gluten free bread (more like Texas toast) and it was a VERY good sandwich. The only thing that would have made it a 5 star experience for me is if they had just ONE toaster in the back just for their GF bread. Anyone who must eat gluten-free, cant have their bread put into a regular bread toaster, it basically defeats the entire purpose of eating the GF bread. And as anyone who has to bake or eat GF bread knows, its not that stable of a sandwich material without toasting. The bread was a good flavor, but it fell apart very quickly (as most GF bread will if its not toasted or grilled). All & all great experience would recommend to anyone. They also appear to have an online ordering situation so if you wanted to skip the line, it appears you can probably do that.

Ive been a few times. Theyve forgotten items. But the most concerning thing happened yesterday. I had an order consisting of 2coffees and 2 lemonades. 1 bagel sandwich. After I delivered the drinks and had a chance to sit and have my own coffee drinking it something hit my throat hard. I thought maybe while I wasnt looking a bug got into the straw highly unlikely I had just put the straw in. Either way something was indeed in my coffee and it made sick for the rest of the day. I was throwing up and delt with stomach pain. Im glad my mom didnt get this coffee. I couldnt drink the rest and threw up mid sandwich. Finally was able to stabilize and go home. One of the workers at seaport asked if I was ok since she saw me get sick. She said its rumored that threre are 2girls at spill the beans put stuff in people drinks and that they still work there. Idk about that. But I wont go back. I wouldnt recommend. We have enough to worry about with covid then to get sick over something being in your coffee.

I came for breakfast around 8 AM on a Friday morning, there was a line when I came and throughout the stay. I saw reviews about this so I expected a line and wait for food as well. I was here for business and it was my free day so the wait was not an issue.During the order, the cashier misheard my McLovin as muffin, so there was little surprised when I was given macha for my mocha order. Some customers were showing frustration in the wait. Orders were verified manual to everyone in the restaurant. My bagel order was delayed a little, but I was enjoying my mocha so much I didnt care.THIS WAS THE BEST MOCHA IVE HAD.The McLovin was good, filling, actually portion was too big for me. Spill The Beans bagels are size humongous, so little ladies beware.Good vibe, clean place, awesome coffees, and huge bagels. Will come back if I ever get back to San Diego :)

This is BY FAR my favourite place in San Diego. Spill the beans is a hip and chic Coffee and Bagel bar where the key word is fresh. There are some great options for coffee (Dark Horse blends), Kombucha, and most importantly, the best bagels you will likely find in San Diego.Jullianna, Connor and the staff are so friendly. They made us feel welcome every time weve gone and have started to feel like friends of ours in San Diego. The location is great, right in the core of the Gas Lamp Quarter, and it does tend to get popular around the breakfast and break-time hours. There are also neat Pot Head souvenirs to buy, including t-shirts, mugs and tumblers, perfect to show your life for your soon-to-be favourite coffee and bagel shop!Youll be happy you stopped here, and be craving their bagels when youre not there.

*TL;DR at the bottomIf you’re looking for a da*n good breakfast sandwich, bagel or spread you HAVE to stop here. Not only are their bagels absolutely delicious but they have THE best spreads. My favorite spreads for my bagels are the maple butter (TO DIE FOR) and the agave and vanilla cream cheese (10/10). I love their plain bagel, sesame and French toast. My go-to breakfast sandwich is “The McLovin’”, it is on a bagel of your choosing (go for the sesame) egg, cheese, sausage and maple butter 🤩. All the important food groups on a sandwich. If you’re an avocado lover, they have the “Millennial” which is LOADED with cado. My friend orders that one every time and they never skip on the avocado. Not only do they have good food, but their coffees are awesome. The baristas really know what they are doing behind the bar and they have a ton of different concoctions. If you’re a plain old black coffee kinda person (weirdo) you’ll still be able to find that here. However, if you’re like me and love to try different lattes and flavors you have to try their “La Vida Mocha” (dark chocolate and coffee? Sign me TF up!). Their caramel latte which is called the “Basic Sitch” isn’t too sweet but has enough sweetness that even my boyfriend enjoys ordering it and he typically only drinks black coffee. If you’re picky about your milks, they offer non-fat, whole milk, soy, almond, oat and macadamia. You can add flavors to your coffee and extra shots. If you read through all that or are just looking for the tl;dr here it is: Try this place out if you like good bagels and enjoy good coffee. You won’t be disappointed. The customer service is awesome and you can’t beat the prices! You can order ahead with either Postmates, DoorDash, or Uber East or just be a cool kid and order at the cafe.*during COVID times, you need to wear a mask to go inside and order and you can only dine outside of the restaurant or to-go. They do have plexiglass in between customers and workers when you order and have hand sanitizer stations all over (thx for doing this). Their hours may differ right now so call them or check out their website for the new hours. Be respectful of their rules and don’t give them any sh*t.**they are also working on a new cafe by seaport village. I cannot wait for that location to open and grab coffee while on my walks by the harbor.
