Its worth a visit just to see the neo rococo interior of this gorgeous building. And its a great place to see art house films or have a glass of wine with some tapas in a cafe downstairs.

A beautiful historic cinema

First time visited this cinema. It is exceptionally beautiful building on the inside with exquisite design. Building is being maintained at the perfect condition, everything looks very nice.This cinema is special in a way, that here are shown Latvian movies, movie festivals, art-house movies and non mass market films.If you are a fan of these kind of movies in a theater like atmosphere, that is a place for you.

Two cinema screens the luxurious classical one and soviet era modern small one. This state owned cinema runs great deal of art-house, european and latvian films.

Old cinema a nice sample of neo baroque style so rare in Riga.

Was so happy to get there! Unlike other modern cinemas in the city here they seem to choose movies very carefully. If you want to see greatest movies of all times, check whats showing now in Splendid place! I was watching a black and white movie from 50th and enjoyed it so much. The cinema is nicely renovated but looks and feels like a historical place.And forget about a popcorn! It is not allowed here. :)

Nice smallish cinema, has two auditoriums. The bigger one is the fancy one. Normally the originals have subtitles in Russian and Latvian. Staff speaks English and is really helpful.

Amazing historical place. Offers different kind of movies than blockbusters which you can see in mainstream cinemas. Has friendly offers for students.Also the big hall is incredibly beautiful - golden palm trees, incredibly intricate art and wall decors. Breath taking. Also no one munches on popcorn while youre watching.

Its a old school type of cinema with old type paper speakers(really nice sound) and old soviet design motive. the seats and screen are new and also good quality. Highly recommend to watch one of our Latvian produced movies

Very nice palace to go To concert. Old classic decoreted palace and you can feel royal life there. I enjoyed being there when I was there.

Nice cinema, good quality of sound and picture. Comfortable chairs, also nice cafe on the ground floor. Good atmosphere and very different from mainstream cinemas with popcorn.

This is a best looking movie theater i have been to, we went for jazz concert- and the acoustics are great, interior like best museum. Enjoyed the time being there.

Exquisite historical cinema building.There is a gorgeous big hall with comfortable chairs and a nice painting on the ceiling.Has a nice cinema themed cafe.A must see for cinema loving tourists.Also, unlike other cinemas, this one did not show any advertising before the movie session.

Alternative cinema with good selection of movies , if you will choose to go there there is better possibility that movie will be excellent compared to other the ones in other places. Also building is arhictecture masterpiece.
