We have been going to this mechanic for years but recently we told them that we needed to relocate to Georgia and we needed our 2003 Lincoln Navigator to take us there. We have arrived and I had to come to review our cars performance!! It had not one problem. It drove smoothly all the way. Through mountains, long hot deserts, windy back roads. It drove perfect!! I will always recommend Performance Automotive!!!

Best mechanic ever!! It can be so hard to find an honest mechanic who does great work and is affordable and I have finally found them. Tiffany always gets my vehicle in right away and makes sure it is in and out quickly, and the work is done right, always making sure to keep me up to date along the way. Cannot recommend them enough! I drive all the way up from Santee just so I can have performance take care of my vehicles!!

I cant speak highly enough about the crew at Performance Automotive. I drive some older cars and finding an honest, competent mechanic is almost impossible. Their $8.99 oil change sign caught my eye and since its literally a mile from my office, I gave it a shot. Unbelievable. Not only did I get a great oil change at an amazing price, but Jose has done a number of repair services for me. Price is great and the work is high quality. Heres a great story. My vans wipers stopped working. I figured it was the motor. He ordered a motor and I took it in for repair. Turns out, it wasnt the motor, but rather a corroded wire. He repaired the wire and didnt charge me for the repair.Ive done brakes, engine light, engine sensor, valve covers and more here. Ive recommended them to my co-workers and will definitely continue using them. You should too.

Always have done a good job of explaining what needed to be done. Always did great work in a timely manner for a decent amount. I recommend them to anyone that asks me for a good shop to go to.

The service at performance automotive was quick, helpful, informative and done well. I thought that they were able to figure out what I wanted and helped me with that pretty easily.Im young so saving money was definitely a big deal when I looked to get my car repaired and they gave me a very good/fair and (somewhat) customized price that I could afford. Pretty honest guys. I would recommend them to anyone that is just trying to get repairs done and get back on the road. They WILL save you time and money.

They have a new owner – I was coordinating with Tiffany during car repairs. Still very good communication and decent prices. She explained me different options and made sure I understood what’s necessary, what’s optional – no pressure for maintenance repairs at all, only fixing what’s broken. Initially I thought on giving 4 stars, but it is really a 5 stars probably – it is not their fault of course that the parts at the repair shops are 3x expensive compared to amazon, then again it is a hassle to bring the car back to install and/or to find transportation during the delivery delay.

What a great shop. Jose helped me for the first time about a year and a half ago. Every time I visit he saves me on average $100.00. All their mechanics are awesome, everyone is courteous. Being a single mom with three kids I really need a shop that I can trust. These guys are exactly that. Also they always can get my car in right away and they get it back so quick!!! Also they offered me a ride home! Thanks to them were safely on the road!

My Honda has had quite a few problems since I bought it salvaged that other mechanics could not fix. Performance fixed all of the problems and gave me a great price. I would recommend and trust them with any of my vehicles.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!I cant post my long review so Ill keep this short. If youre interested in seeing my long review, look at YELP! and youll see it in detail.Basically, Jose is full of it and will promise you a bunch of things but never deliver. On top of that, he will always point the finger at someone else rather than take the blame and correct the problem. Again, read my review on YELP! so you get the full story.In the end, I had to spend an additional $1500 to correct the issues that Jose and his team caused. Save yourself time and money and go to a real professional shop that can work on turbocharged cars.

My former mechanic was right around the corner from Performance. When he decided to sell his business, I went through some fear. I am a single female, and own an old car. Not to mention, money is tight. I believe a woman should have a good mechanic, hairstylist and friends!On a whim, I stopped by Performance to have my oil changed, and I am so happy I did! (hence the long winded review)In no time, they had my car on a lift, and started looking for leaks, generally giving me a quick FREE check up.Tho owner and his wife were warm, kind and generous. Where else can you get an oil change for 8.95?I have already recommended them to another friend, and would do so to anyone that would ask.

Saved me $4,000.00, as my previous mechanic of 8 years told me I needed a new engine and transmission, to shop for another car. It was so sudden as my car had been working fine. Then I found by chance Performance Automotive and so glad I did. They offered me a free diagnostic (my other mechanic charged me $104.00 to do). They showed me what was really wrong with the car, they also keep the parts they change for you so you can take them with you if you want, and though it took a little longer than they said, which is understandable as I didnt have an appointment and they are a busy shop, over all, I am grateful that I found them and will be returning here for my future needs. Besides, their oil change prices are a great deal.

When I called Performance Automotive of San Diego this morning to see if I could have my car towed in, Jose answered the call, and he offered to come in early to meet me and the tow truck there. I thought my alternator had gone out and after a quick diagnostic check Jose confirmed this to be true. His wife ran the registration process, and she was just as nice as he was. I recieved a very reasonable quote and was set to wait for my alternator to be replaced. When my car was lifted, another repair man noticed my brakes were really bad and needed to be replaced as well. They quickly replaced my old quote with a new one that was still very reasonably priced. Thank goodness they offered FlexPay Plus, so I am able to make interest free payments on my bill. While my car was being worked on I was able to sit nearby in the garage. I was able to ask questions while they were repairing and they even let me see and touch the old brakes compared to the new ones. I like to ask a lot of questions and it was great to be right there while they worked on my car and ask about the repairs. This is the best auto repair shop I have been to in over 15 years. I am going to continue going there for all my automotive needs and I will recommend them to everyone I know. Thanks everyone for making this experience a great one!

They knew what they were doing and they found more problems my vehicle and fix them especially working in this area I dont know a lot about mechanics in this area now I know where to take my car when I need to get fixed

Went in this morning to get a smog check done and the owner was very helpful! Only took about 20 minutes and was very reasonably priced! ($45)

They were extremely helpful when I had my car towed here after it wouldnt start. And after finding that not only was my starter bad but I needed a new alternator Jose was amazing and arranged a rental car quickly so I was able to go pick up my son on time.

Highly trusted, they arent about to rip you off. Honest people, hard workers, no BS. Definitely recommend.

I was in bad need of an oil change when I happened upon a sign for Performance Automotive advertising Oil Change 8.99. Out of curiosity I stopped. The service was very friendly and extremely prompt and the final cost was $12.99 which included 4 qts.of oil, filter, tax and oil disposal fee. I moved to SD about a year ago and luckily found them to have my oil changes done! I brought my car to Performance Automotive, my 2008 Dodge Avenger, had been stalling and turning off while at red lights...Jose did research for me and found out that my car had a recall! He personally went out of his way to call dodge dealership, to have my car fixed at no charge!!!! How HONEST is that!!! Im soooo Thankful for all the effort and care Performance Automotive has done for me! They even gave me a call back to make sure everything went well at the dealership!! This is the only Shop I will take my car to from now on. My breaks were soooo bad. I pushed them to far trying to wait until after the Holidays to get them done. When I was set to start looking around for a shop, unexpected expenses came up and at that point I knew I would have to end up replacing my rotors as well. The dealership wanted $1200+ so I started looking for a shop on Yelp. My husband found Performance Automotive, and saw that they had a few different financing options. (These are thru independent companys and not in-shop) After being approved from one of the companys, we brought in our car. Jose checked all the breaks (for free, they do not charge for ANY diagnosis at their shop) and confirmed all the rotors and pads needed to be replaced. Jose and his wife are a God send. They showed us all the options and prices, from the super el cheapo to the dealership made. They did not pressure us to just get the most expensive, and was willing to put on the super cheap ones but did warn that they would likely squeak within about a month. Ive always wondered why this happened after getting my breaks serviced at other places before. The only downside was the finance company that I chose was a little difficult to deal with, but Jose and his wife called them directly and helped us work everything out. They are a blessing, and I am so glad we found them. I dont even get the bad reviews a couple of people put up on here. They were honest, kind, and went above and beyond, all for someone that jacked their brakes up. I will always recommend them to everyone I know. My breaks are on, and perfect.* I ended up going with the mid grade parts, everything was very reasonably priced, and a better deal for what I got than any other shop Ive been to.

To make a long story short: Never made timelines, always had an excuse and will hide mistakes.1) Timelines: Every timeline Jose gave me, was never met. When I say never, I mean never. My car went in for a engine rebuild and two or three weeks, turned into two or three months.2) Excuses: After timelines were never met, I always had to call to find out what was going on. It was too the point where I knew when I called, it was going to be. Uhh, this happened or that happened..., usually someone elses fault, never theirs.3) Mistakes: If you do decide to go here, make sure you check every inch of your car, then when you get it back, check it again. Im sure youll find something broken. First was a piece of trim, then there was grease all over my front bumper, broke the hood release under the steering wheel, my key FOB no longer works. *Note: They didnt point any of these out.The only reason why I gave them a 2 out of 5, instead of a 1 out of 5, is because he gave me parts at cost and buffed my headlights.Save yourself time / suffering, and pay a little more for a quality.
