If I knew this, I wouldnt have returned the birds.Now, by going to see my layaway baby bird every day, I wont make the same mistakes as I once made. Maybe Im an annoying customer who comes to see my Layaway child every day. But I believe it will benefit the birds’ and my future. I strongly recommend that you go to see the birds as a visitor after Layaway.I am grateful for the shop staff they are nice sweet, and they are support me and helps me a lot which is I know I returned bards it is makes the shop staffs was unpleasant and disappointed.patient (...sorry) but still and kind to me even though I am not a good customer so I truly appreciate it!

After visiting Petco, Petsmart, and Birdsmart with very disappointing results, we ended up here. Hands-down this is the best bird shop of all the places we visited.The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful. The store is clean, well stocked, and the birds seem genuinely happy. The birds are kept in a large room, separate from the supplies. Theres a limit to the number of customers who can go in the bird room at the same time, and all must sanitize their hands before entering. In the bird room, the birds are happily singing, talking, and playing.We were looking for parakeets and they have the best selection, with a wide age range and coloration. We ended up with the two gorgeous budgies in my photos. They were only $34.99 here, but are $39.99 at Petco, $49.99 at Petsmart (with limited or no selection), and a ridiculous $139.99 at Birdsmart.The gal who helped us (Alison) trimmed the birds wings and nails. She said we have 1 week to return the birds for any reason, and a 1 year exchange policy (for store credit). They also provide wing & nail trimming free for the lifetime of the birds.They provide cool, shady underground parking. It was an all-around 5-star experience. My only regret is not coming here first.

They always have tons of bird toys to pick from and everytime I go I find new ones that werent there before. I go about once a month to replace my birds toys and always spend way more than I need to. They also have lots of different food options, including some that you cant find at regular big box stores like Petco. We got a 5 lb bag of their own, personal, food brand for, I want to say $7. The regular store brand ones were about $13 for 2lbs so its nice to have the option to pick and choose. The employees are also very knowledgeable so anytime my husband and I have bird questions, they can answer them and as first time bird owners, we appreciate that.

Super clean and organized. The birds they have are absolutely adorable. They have all the right supplies you need for any type of bird. The cages that the birds are in aren’t the best but they all seem health and happy. Will definitely be getting a bird from there.

Love this business. They really have their feathery friends in mind. I have yet to find one thing they dont have. I love going in to see the new babies. My birds have boarded here for two weeks and they came back more social and learned new calls and songs LOL. They got fed twice a day, water changed twice a day AND they feed them fresh chop in the morning. I got to bring my cage and toys with them to make sure they were okay. Great staff and highly recommended!

Fantastic place for various birds, bird cages, bird food, bird toys, etc. The best bird store I have seen in San Diego so far, in terms of the quality and cleanliness of the cages, variety of food given to the birds, spaciousness of the store, and so on.They even have a glass paned section where you can see the babies and the attendants feeding them. Amazing scene to watch and enjoy. Also helpful when picking your future, little feathered friend.

Great place for bird owners. Cages, food, and toys are in abundance. They even trim nails and wings but may not be doing so during the pandemic. The owners are wonderful and give great customer service. I am a great fan of Our Feathered Friends.

Went in to have my African Greys wings clipped and nails done. So much easier than doing it myself! Staff is always pleasant and knowledgeable about the birds.

If there was the option to give this place zero stars, I would gladly give them that because thats all this place deserves. DO NOT--and I repeat--DO NOT by any birds from this place. I bought a bird from here, took it to the vet, and they said it was malnourished and diagnosed it with a fatal illness and it died six months after I purchased it. If anyone has any sense, they wont even think of getting any bird from this den of vultures! If this place ever gets shut down, good riddance!

My mom likes going to see the birds, and to get toys and goodies for her parakeets. We went looking for a parrotlet but unfortunately, due to COVID, theres a huge shortage everywhere, i suppose. They had very few birds, unlike other times that weve gone. It felt weird to be in a quiet aviary store. Lol.But the ladies were nice, and put me on a waiting list for whenever they do get parrotlets again.

The parking is a small underground garage and people dont seem to understand how to park. There house brand bird food is awesome. I get the ultimate parrot in 50lb bags and freeze it for until needed. They have only 1 location now and its a 45 min drive. Love to visit the birds on house and say hi.

Love the selection of cages, so many. After a look over of the cage stand at home, there was a missing nut but I easily replaced it just going to Home Depot. Re- tightened things up and it was ready to go for my Yellow turquoisine Grass-Keet I purchased the same day.

This place is great,I always buy my parrots the food and toys and products. There is all ways in different websites thing I want but shipping is expensive, but this place haves every thing I recommend you to come here for products and food (reason I didn’t say about the birds it’s because I have never bought a bird there so I wont lie)

Bought our parrot here 35 years ago. The store has ample supplies for birds and offers a Bird hotel. For services such as trimming nails and wings you must be very diligent to obtain a appointment. They are one of the few in the area for these type of services.

Every time I go in, the staff is so nice and friendly! I take my cockatoo in every month for his nails and they do SUCH a great job with him. The store is also clean, and there birds are well maintained! I would give 10/5 stars if I could!!!

We love coming here! The staff is knowledgeable, patient, and extremely helpful. One of our feathered baby unexpectedly passed away. We stop by to visit with no expectations to purchase another baby. The staff was understanding and over the course of 2 days approximately 6 hours total of just hanging out there we came home with a new baby. This baby was not hand fed or handle. Rafael made sure we were completely informed and told us about their wonderful policy on returns/exchange if it didnt work out. Unfortunately, this baby did not work for our family and we took him back. They worked with us to find a perfect match for our family of 6. We are absolutely in love with our new feathered baby. He is perfect for our family.

They trimmed the flight feathers of 4 drama queens and a screamer boy conures. Next, all 5 had their claws shortened. The tech was professional and friendly to the uncooperative birds.

Our Feathered Friends brick and mortar store is the best San Diego local place to purchase all of your birds necessities and accessories. All staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly and willing to help whenever necessary about any questions or anything you need in the store. Location is very easy to get in and out of with lots of garage parking. Access to store is elevator or stairs one level floor up from garage. Price points for the items are exact market or better and honestly the things that Ive been buying I find are actually better priced than the other stores in the area. Im all about recycling, repurposing and supporting local business if possible. I always liked this place before Covid. Purchased my bird there and cannot get in to have nails, wings cut! Because you can only get in by appointment which is not the problem, the problem is....you can only get an appointment by calling ONLY ON WEDNESDAYS !!! Have tried for weeks to get through literally ! I have heard they take appointments for anyone , even if you did not purchase your bird there which is wrong if true because part of the purchase INCLUDES wings, nails !!!!!I will confirm this is the case tomorrow . I believe it is true at this point ! Why would they want my bird when they can’t CHARGE for it ? RIDICULOUS ! Try calling on Wednesdays and see how frustrating it is !!!

I would have given 5 stars because my parents got their beloved Cockatoo here 25 years ago and have been bringing her here for nails & wing maintenance and nothing has ever gone wrong, until this time. In 25 years we have never had both of her wings clipped. You could spread her wings and see quite obviously that only one wing gets clipped. Well they clipped both! Yes, her feathers grow back so no permanent physical damage. Ill leave it at that.

Love this store!!! All the supplies I need for my birds and then some. Huge selection of food, toys, perches, cages, everything! There’s also a great bird room closed off from the rest of the store where all the live birds live. There are some larger ones out on perches and you can interact with them. Staff seems very knowledgeable and they seem to truly know the personalities of the birds in their store.If you do purchase birds from here, they have a very comprehensive return policy regarding live birds. Different birds can often have incompatible personalities and they want the birds to have good homes, so they accept the birds back for a full year for store credit or to exchange for a different individual. Very helpful considering certain birds can be very costly to keep!

Have only been here once as its too far away from home to be convenient.Its one of the only shops in SD dedicated to birds.The place is clean and they have tons of things to buy.Prices are competitive.Parking is very limited underneath the store, so prepare to park along the street and to walk.The ship is small, but you can get things here that you wont find in pet stores.

This is a pretty complete one stop shop for all your bird needs. They sell high quality seed, cages and toys. Their selection of birds for purchase is also great. They have a viewing room where you can interact with the birds and sometimes the birds are out of their cages which is a treat. Give this place a well deserved visit if youve never been.

I have been going to Our Feathered Friends for about 10 years and have never had a bad experience. The employees are friendly and helpful. There is a wide variety of toys, cages, bird food and beautiful birds. The workers carry baby birds around with them to teach them to be good pets. I had a wonderful time there yesterday when I purchased my daughter a baby parakeet for her birthday. We were excited to learn that we can visit the bird and learn how to train her, until we are ready to take her home in a month or so. Also, the store is clean, organized, well stocked, and truly the best bird store in San Diego County!

I have been boarding my bird, grooming her and buying supplies at Our Feathered Friends for many years and I have had top notch service. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. I always go up to the boarding area to select the location and customize the cage with her own toys. My birds familiar with the staff, so she doesnt have the separation anxiety. My bird is part of my flock, so its really important to know that she is in the care of folks who have her best interest at heart.

I have shopped with My Feathered Friends for over 20 years & find them to be a well stocked store. They have several beautiful birds for sale. So many beautiful happy birds!

We showed up a couple minutes before closing this evening and wanted to check out a few cages for our finches. We had intended to get an idea of what they had and what pricing was like and come back another day, not so close to closing time. A few minutes after closing and we were still looking over the great selection and the guy that works there was incredibly friendly, helpful and also eager to assist which was awesome. We ended up finding what we wanted and purchased a cage and some accessories. He offered to help load it into our vehicle, which I had at first declined. However, 15-20 minutes later and we found the cage was just a little bigger than we had anticipated and would not fit. The store was closed by this time and through the darkness, I hear the guy who helped us out ask if we need help as he is heading home. He got his own tools out of his car and disassembled a section of the cage so it would fit in our vehicle on his own time (in the dark). Wow - probably the best customer service I have ever had. The girl working there was also very nice and helpful. We will definitely be coming back for our birds needs.

If youre a bird person or want to be, this is the place to go. Workers have all been here for years which says something. The store is clean and layout open and easy to navigate. Selection of cages and food and toys is abundant and fairly priced. Best part of any trip is peeking at the newer hatchlings in the nursery and walking the bird room. Yes, the bird room can be loud but with the selection of very healthy birds, what do you expect. They offer a fair guarantee when purchasing birds through them and I have definitely bought my fair share and never needed to use the guarantee.
