$5500 MISTAKE- BUYER BEWARESuper disappointed by this company and experience. Purchased a desk and Murphy bed combination back in March. Typically it takes about 8 weeks I was explained, but since it’s covid and there are delays I am told twelve weeks and to expect to hear about a delivery date in late may or early June. By mid June I hadn’t heard anything yet so I reached out and only then were we informed that the delay was postponed to August. No initiative to inform me was taken. End of July I receive notification that my bed/desk is finally ready for installation and I book the date 8/14. The date arrives and about 30 minutes after the scheduled time, I receive a call that due to a flight issue my installation won’t happen that day and if I can reschedule to 8/15. Nevermind that I have to take off work and make accommodations for this, at this point I just want it done so I say yes. Day of 8/15, installation is in process and because of a measurement issue and by 1/4 inch the frame won’t clear the roof. So there needs to be a sanding down to accommodate for this and because it is Sunday, the shop is closed. They need to reschedule and because they are busy with other jobs, I am told it will be about a week and they will let me know in a couple days on an exact date. By mid week no one had reached out to me, and I have to call to follow up. They tell me they can do it 8/21 and I take the work day off again and hoping for smooth sailing by this point.It is today, the installation has happened. I’m the midst of it, they spilled acetone or paint thinner onto the desk part of this contraption, which also serves as the feet for the bed. Unfortunately they need to go paint or fix this piece now so it’ll be another 9 days before he can come back with it because again, they are busy. After he leaves I notice there is damage to my wall, and no mention of that to me whatsoever. Super unprofessional, I have been treated like I am an inconvenience for the issues on their side.I would not recommend this company at all. I’m really disappointed in their standards and procedures and hopefully next week I’ll finally get it finished

Initially had some issues with the bedframe fitting in our stairwell. Very important that you measure this out ahead of time. Clyde stepped in and helped us to resolve our issues. This bed and couch are gorgeous. It will fold down over the couch with the back cushions taken off. You get to choose the sofa material which we love. The white paint on the frame wood is an additional fee but we are glad we did it. So nice. The mattress is their premium one and we think worth it. The install guys very nice and did a good job. You have to wait for a good 12 weeks to get a custom order like this done so be patient. Very happy with it in the end.

We had such a good experience with the Sales Employee Kevin! He is so knowledgeable, and polite, it was such a smooth experience that we rarely saw in sales - Kevin was mainly the reason we bought at Murphy Bed San Diego - we felt safe and he offered us EXACTLY what we needed and what we were looking for. We will come back for more for sure and recommend the store for all my friends that need space ! (Edit after assembled bed): it is perfect! All my family and friends are in love with the bed and the space that left in the room! And it looks so beautiful, it’s a beautiful piece of furniture in our guest room!

The product and service I received from Murphy Beds of San Diego was exemplary. I wanted a small bedroom in my condo to function as an office and as a bedroom. I found the perfect model of Murphy bed in their showroom to fulfill my need. It is now installed. The craftsmanship is A+, constructed in the USA of 100 % high quality wood. The installation was trouble-free and exactly as promised. I had expected to write this review in a completely different frame of mind, but after some confusion and a miss delivery date I was unbelievably surprised.Everyone from the sales team to the warehouse manager did what ever possible to get me my bed as soon as possible. After being told I couldnt get my bed now until the following week I expressed that because of my job that wouldnt work. The wonderful people here didnt say, too bad, they said, Well see what we can do.I took that with a grain of salt but within the hour I got a call saying that they would go back to the warehouse to pick up my bed so it could be delivered today. Kevin from sales patiently took all my grief in a very professional and courteous way. Bravo!Top notch furniture and top notch quality service. If you are even a little on the fence about going here, let me ease your mind. If their amazing stock doesnt sell you immediately then let me sell you on their customer service. In a world where this sort of care has seemingly disappeared, Casual Dining and Murphy beds of San Diego has undoubtedly proven that their customers matter and are more than just a sales figure to them.Marissa was especially amazing from start to finish helping me find the bed I needed and then following up to make sure everything went smoothly!So thank you very much Murphy Beds. We had a great experience with Clyde and Marissa here, after checking out multiple wall bed stores. The bed we got was solid and high quality, with an understated look. It also has a pillow holder that folds up with the bed that we couldnt find elsewhere, and makes storing the bed much easier: the pillows stay exactly where they should. Price was very competitive, and both Clyde and Marissa helped us find the bed that fit our needs, without pressuring us to buy. The installation team was top-notch: courteous, efficient, on time, and they cleaned everything up afterwards. Highly recommended

My Murphy cabinet bed arrived with white glove treatment. It matched my furniture perfectly. The bed opens easily and house guests find the queen size bed very comfortable. It fits in the tiny bedroom much better than a blow up mattress, and there is adequate storage below for bedding. Love love love it and the people!Update! We have had many guests stay in our new Murphy and they all love it!Bonus: Theres an electrical outlet and 2 usb ports I didnt even know about!! How cool is that!

Please check out other stores before committing, customer service is poor. Product is great but I had horrible customer service and told many mistruths. If they tell you that they dont carry inventory, its not true. If you want a lower price model, they may have it in stock, dont let them tell you everything is special order. Again, product is high quality, but I was disappointed that I was treated like I was doing them a favor by walking in their door, not the other way around.

My husband and I went to the store to purchase a murphy bed. We went to see the drawer bed and compare it to the wall bed. Our contractor was going to install the bed for us & gave us an affordable quote (we had 3 quotes all close in price). When we arrived and couldnt decide which bed would work the best. John, requested that we have Carolyn draw up a design. The cost was $200 but it could be applied to a purchase. We agreed, about a week later, we got the quote it was over 3 times the quote we had from our contractor. We told John we couldnt afford it and would pay the $200 for the design (the design had its flaws and included way more than we needed). He urged us to leave a good faith deposit of $4000 and he would speak to the owner to bring down the cost to match our quote. He said it was FULLY REFUNDABLE. He also said he would ask Carolyn to make changes to the plan to address our objections. Since he was willing to come down on the price and address our objections we pressed forward. Carolyn came up with another design, but it would not allow someone to exit the room unless the bed was in the upward position and that was unacceptable for safety concerns which we emailed her about. On May 8, I emailed her a picture and gave her a layout to guide her in the right direction. She came out to re-measure to make sure the door would clear the bed in her new design. She dismissed the layout I gave her and said she would come up with another design that met our needs. Frustrated, I gave her more ideas and an internet picture to guide her. She finally came up with a layout that met our needs and added an extra fold up desk (we didn’t request it but she knew our concerns that her design didn’t give us enough desk space). We got the new quote & the price was higher than the first quote! We told Carolyn we could not proceed with the design at that price. We asked Carolyn to back out 2 items (fold up desk and nightstand) and to use a standard stain. But after consideration we decided that these changes would not make up the difference in price (3x higher than our outside quotes). We asked Carolyn to apply the credit to our murphy bed and refund the balance. We didnt get any responses while on vacation. (I advised them prior to leaving that I could only be reached by email). We got back and John left a voice mail message stating that the agreement was for a project and would not refund the $4000 contrary to his statement that it was fully refundable. We went to the store on June 11 to discuss the phone message John left us. He said he would discuss with the owner and get back to me. In an email to Carolyn, I stated I was going to post my experience on YELP. I got a response from Carolyn, she said she was told not to contact me! Met with Bert on June 17 & presented all the emails & 3 quotes from our contractor. I told him there was no way I would have proceeded with their company had John not indicated they would come down to our budget. He said he would review the emails and investigate. He called me and stated that he found an email John sent to Carolyn that confirmed our concerns about the cost. It should be clear that the project was subject to approval of the design and price! Bert said he would work with us and match our other quote. Bert has had my other contractors design since our June 17 meeting. It is simple, met our needs and is a price we could afford. Bert provided a verbal quote that matched our contractors quote, but until I get written clarification that it includes what we discussed on the phone, I cannot proceed. At this point, I do not trust words, I need it in writing.
