I have just moved here from Utah, and having some mechanical issues with my car. I didn’t know where to go or who to trust. I took a leap of faith and went to these guys hoping that they would give me an honest answer about my car and what it’s actual repair needs were. They did just that and more and giving me a totally genuine honest answer and not charging me for any necessary repairs that I didn’t really need. Good honest car people are super hard to come by. I would highly recommend going here for any sort of repairs!

Ive been to other auto service centers that were much pricier & I felt were not as good. Everyone , from Sam the office manager to Safa the auto mechanic were not only very competent but extremely helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend trying out their services. Friendly, they look out for their customers, and offer fast service. So I was looking at a $185 bill for towing and getting my car inspected for damages, Jason was like oh no way saw that the car couldnt be repaired because of body damage, pulled it out of the service lineup, called me to let me know, then helped to get my car back home asking only for $65 for the tow operator forgoing his own service fees. ive dealt with shady mechanics who will take advantage of every situation, that is not Jason who is a friend even to a first time customer. I got the impression that theyre trying to match value to the prices they ask. Totally Worth checking these guys out if youre local.

The owner Jason is truly one of a kind. If you want to be treated with honesty kindness and respect then this is the place to go. Ive taken my car to a lot of places spent money that I shouldnt have because greedy people want to just do useless work to get money and they dont even fix the problem with my vehicle. At North Park Auto they take pride in their business and treat their customers like family. If they come across something in your car that they cant fix, for example my motor mounts a while back, they will send you to a specialist that they have a good opinion of. Im never taking my car anywhere else.

My car has been running sluggish after sitting in storage for a few years. I wasnt quite sure what was wrong, so I was looking for an honest assessment. I searched Google to find a good auto repair shop and North Park Auto Repair had, by far, the greatest number of positive reviews. I called and they told me to come in first thing in the morning. I arrived as advised, and the head mechanic immediately offered to assist. I explained what was wrong and he drove the car around the block a few times. When he returned, he told me my car was in great shape and had good power. He believed all that was needed was a simple re-set of the car computer. After he performed that task, he had me drive it around the block with him, and I immediately noticed a change.I thanked him for his honesty and professionalism.Whats more, THERE WAS NO CHARGE!!! I offered and even insisted to pay something and he refused.I have a new-found respect for mechanics.I will never go anywhere else for my car needs.Thank you so much!!!

This auto repair shop is amazing. They have earned a long term loyal customer and I will also tell any friends/family about this place. My check engine light came on so I took my car here and the owner immediately greeted me and was friendly even though I came 30mins until closing time. He scanned my car and gave his honest opinion of what needed to be done. He gave direct no BS answers and even saved me from getting scammed again by another place I had previously been to. He told me exactly what the issue was and was very honest. He could have easily taken my money and ran but instead was genuine and straight forward. We need more people like this in the world! He was able to give answers that no other shop had before and I am so grateful I came across this place. Please!! Called to see if I can get my headlight replaced and Safa was very informative and realistic about the service, timing and pricing. I went in and actually got it done really fast and I really appreciate the efficiency!! Definitely would recommend this shop in the future!

Jason and the whole staff were extremely attentive and help. I took my car to a different shop to replace the serpentine belt. They said pulleys also needed to change because of some nonsense excuse and they quoted me $663. A friend recommended me this shop. I went in and Jason helped me right away and he was shocked by how much the other shop was trying to rip me off for. Long story short, he said pulleys were ok and he changed the belt and flush the radiator for only $209. I highly recommend this shop since they dont trying to rip you off.

I’m from Colorado and was visiting the area when my car began acting up. Jason took such great care of me. He was kind and did everything he could to save me some money and get me driving a safe car back to Colorado. They were very efficient and quick with the repairs. This place has always been great. I used to go there years and years ago. They never ever charge you high prices and the work they do is fantastic. Just had my sons Volkswagen repaired there. My son was quoted elsewhere a rediculious amount and when I called them, it was nearly cut in half. I recommend taking your car here very much.

Jason and the whole team at North Park Auto Repair are the absolute best. They are always very straightforward, honest, and efficient. Several months ago my car had a bad battery that was misdiagnosed (by the autoparts store) as the alternator (expesive fix). Jason did a quick test and determined it was just a bad battery. Thankfully it was under warranty, but he even offered to help me with getting a new one if the store gave me any trouble getting a repalcement. We were lucky enough to find them when we moved here two years ago and wont be going anywhere else!

Supposedly had all my fuel injectors changed for $800. 7 months later one misfired I took it to another mechanic that said the injector didnt look like it had been replaced. I went back to then and the were going to charge me $100 the look at the injectors again and charge me parts and labor if it had to be replaced. They got into an argument with my new mechanic who stood his ground and fixed my car for much less than then go to AB Motors on 48th and University instead.

I am grateful to have found this place and they got me in and out on the same day to replace my thermostat. So freaking nice, very professional, and great communication 👍👍👍Customer for life

I’m writing about my experience a few weeks ago at North Park Auto Repair.This is the second time I’ve ever come to North Park Auto Repair, and honestly, I don’t think I’ll go anywhere else as long as I live in San Diego! They are consistently honest, competent, and fairly priced.I have a 1994 Ford Ranger that I will always take to North Park Auto Repair. The first time I’d ever gone here, I had to get towed to their shop after breaking down in El Cajon. I knew it was making a noise, and running rough, but that was about it. They had diagnosed my issue within seconds of popping the hood. Turns out my alternator had run itself ragged on the hilly freeways during the long trip I had just taken from Idaho. I had a warranty on my alternator, so I walked to Auto Zone, came back, changed it myself with my tools in their parking lot (with some help from YouTube), and I was on my way without a dime spent. This was a godsend at the time because I was near penniless. They even lent me a wrench! Super nice guys!This time, I came back with a smog issue. I had gotten my truck tested, and failed the “evaporative controls” portion of the test. I didn’t know what this meant, so I called everyone on a list of mechanics that the smog shop gave me.After calling over 30 different shops, and getting a lot of conflicting information as to what the problem could be, including prices ranging from $600-$2000+ as well as many refusals to even provide a quote until I had already paid them, I had finally gathered that it meant there was a leak in the line anywhere between the gas tank and the gas cap, which is where you put the fuel in. I had also gathered that it required a smoke test to figure out where the leak was, and that this particular model year commonly has issues with the fuel filler neck, right under gas cap. I figured out that, including labor, it should cost no more than $800 max to fix as long as it’s just that fuel filler neck.I called North Park Auto repair, and armed with this information, I put them to the test. I told them my truck had a smog issue, and that it was something to do with evaporative controls. After giving them the specs on my truck, I told them that I knew it needed a smoke test, that I only had $1000 cash to pay right now, and that I was willing to make payments if it was more. At this point, I’m giving them an easy opportunity to screw me out of more money, but that’s just not what happened!The owner said that, yes, he would try to work something out with me if it were necessary, because he likes to help people out. But then he explained what I already knew about the fuel filler neck being a common issue, and then said that with the cost of the smoke test, if there’s no other leak, he couldn’t see it being more than $600. I set an appointment with them for the next day.I overslept that day and dropped off my truck really late, which they were super cool about. So sorry guys!I signed the forms giving them permission to do the smoke test + the repairs, and I said they could go ahead and smog test it if there were no further leaks. I went home in an Uber, and they went to work. A couple hours later the owner called me, and he explained that the fuel filler neck did have an issue, as well as the O ring around it. They had an O ring on hand and replaced it free of charge. The smog had passed, and I was on my way out for less than $600!I can normally fix the most common issues on my truck. I’ve changed my own alternator, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and ignition coil. I do the maintenance on the fuel, air, and oil filters, and I’ve even helped changed the clutch on another Ranger. I’m no mechanic, but I know enough to have an idea of whether my mechanic is being straight with me. These guys are not there to screw you over!North Park Auto Repair is truly there to help! Most honest mechanics I’ve ever done business with. I brought in my 94 Ford Ranger that had broken down, and explained to them the issues that I’ve had, as well as what had been fixed recently. They took one look at my alternator and told me it had burned out. Since I had a warranty on my alternator through O’Reilly’s, they allowed me to pull out the busted alternator with my tools in their lot and put the new one in. They even lent me a wrench as I’m missing the size I needed. And the best part is, they didn’t charge me for a diagnostic.I’m going to be going here for any and all future repairs I end up needing. Highly recommended!

I brought my own parts and they installed it for me, which not many shops do nowadays. Justin is a great guy to work with, and was very transparent and communicative throughout the whole process on two separate visits. This is my now my go-to shop.

Had a smog check on my highlander there first time there since we moved here, Jason helped got me in an out in 15 mins, very personable and extremely nice, today I took it back to north park auto repair because of my battery terminal corroded, after replacing the battery the day before and finding out the terminal also needed replacing it was not a good day needless to say, but Jason said not a big problem at all, bring it in and Ill see what I can do he fixed it no problem and added sealant to protect from future issues, this is the only guy Ill ever take my car to from now on, I would give 10 stars if I could!!! Awesome guy, honest and very fair, great place to take your car to if you have any issues

Trustworthy mechanics can be hard to find, Jason and the boys down here have gone well above and beyond on some technical issues. At the end of the day they are fair, honest and quick to repair. I live in El cajon, theres many auto places out here, but I always make the trip to North Park.

I came in here the Saturday after Thanksgiving around 4:30 after my car started smoking and studdering on me while I was on the freeway headed to work. I pulled off and North Park Auto Repair was one of the choices.They normally close at 5 but they were able to fit in my diagnostic instead of making me wait until Monday. They let me know what the total problem was and how much it cost to fix but they also gave me the cost to fix what was necessary to get me on the road, the issues Id experience and how long the band-aid would last.Then on top of that it was cheaper than the quote for the repair and they were done a day earlier than quoted.

Came in with my car for a smog and these guys helped me do it in a few minutes. Great customer service

Ive been going to this shop for the past 5 years and they have been cheaper than most places. But I recently brought my car in because my battery died and I asked to check if there was anymore problems. They told me that my car needs major repairs that would cost over 2 grand! Also they told me that if I continue to drive my car the engine would blow. I had two professional mechanics look at my car and they told me that my car is okay to drive and the repairs I needed would cost 1000. Very disappointed and upset that they would scam me after being a loyal costomer.DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP, if you do, get another opinion.They also park the cars they are servicing on the street so Im not surprised that women got a parking ticket.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE !!!!!!! The most horrible place you could ever take your car. I dropped my car off at 8:00 in the morning on February 9th to get a quote on some work I needed to get done on my car, we call at 4pm and they still have not looked at my car yet which was fine because hey I get it you are busy. HERE is the damn Problem !!! 2 weeks later I receive a parking ticket in the mail for a residential address I have never been to in my life ! The ticket time stamp was at 8:59am on the same day my car was at the shop ! So they used my car for personal use got a damn parking Ticket and then threw the yellow ticket away and did not tell me a thing about my car getting a ticket! My husband dropped off the car that morning and I met him with his work truck to pick him up from the shop and when I went back to confronted the repair shop about this ticket I received when my car was in their possession they used every excuse in the book ! They also added that my husband was probably having an affair thats why hes blaming it on them. Little do these uneducated people know is I am the one who picked him up from the shop at 8:15 so how the hell was he driving the car when he was with me in his work truck !!!! I am going to be the bigger person and pay the ticket so it doesnt keep getting larger in amount ! But I ask YOU TO JOIN ME IN NEVER GOING BACK HERE AGAIN !!!!!!!! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY !
