LAX Ammunition has always provided me with the ammo I need when everyone else is having a shortage. I find their prices to be competitive with the market and the staff generally helpful and courteous.

Been here once before 2 years ago. Didnt have an issue last time, really nothing to be said, just a mediocre store. Got off the phone today with idk who. Answered the phone lax. Like, who am I speaking with though? I asked how he was doing, he replied with, what can I do for you. I asked if they did transfers, no then silence. Like, maybe no, sir, but theres a shop thats around the area that does. Just felt very disrespectful and like a chore being on the phone. LAX ammo was always on my radar, but not anymore. Amazing what 30 seconds on the phone can do with someone bitter. I wouldnt recommend you waste your time or your money here.

They always have 9mm ammo. Love this place.

Recently returned to LAX AMMO after speaking to the owner about the standoffish attitude of some of his employees.He assured me that he does not tolerate that type of behavior and always strives to meet his customers needs.I noticed a big diffetence in how the employees interact with the customers.A very knowledgable staff that are attentive to the customers.Nice to do business with people wjo put the customer first.A great place to purchase ammo.

Never buying ammo here again. I need some 9 mn for the range so I decided to go here to buy some. All they had were 1000 rounds of 110 gr flange ammo, or 50 rounds of HP. Lets make this dead clear of i have a brand new glock 19 with the magazines that came in the box. First day I got it I ran about 500 rounds through the gun worked absolutely great. Cleaned the gun completely and stored for 2 weeks. I came back to the range the same day I bought the ammo and so far have had 10 failure to feed malfunctions. While the gun is still hot, I loaded 2 magazines of regular federal FMJ range ammo, I did not have a single problem and still havent with another 3 magazines. I will never be buying ammo from lax again, absolutely hands down the worst ammo I have shot!

Best place to go to for ammo. Great selection, great staff, great price! Parking can be a bit frustrating at times but don’t let that stop you from going.

Tons of ammo selection, well staffed and super friendly. Prices are very reasonable even in COVID times. $1 per round of 9mm at some other shops (firearms unknown in oceanside, thats you) Here I paid a little over .60 per round. Still expensive, but definitely not price gouging, supply and demand...but they have PLENTY of supply!

I stumbled across this place while trying to buy ammo boyfriend. I called a couple of places and the second they found out I didn’t have a gun they basically hung up on me. Lax Ammo SD was the only place that took time out of their day to explain some new ammo law that took place that didn’t allow me to buy ammo unless I owned a gun in California or paid $19 dollars for a background check. I went down there and did a quick background check and after 2 days was approved to buy Ammo. Cant wait to give my boyfriend 1000 rounds of Lax 9 MM !

First time visiting the store today and found my new place to buy ammo. First off it could not be easier to get to, right off the freeway and Balboa. The store was well organized and clean, everything they had for sale was well marked and unobstructed. The owner/manager/only employee was helpful, knowledgeable and informative. I normally buy ammo from LAX strictly due to the lower cost. I recently had an experience that reinforced my already positive opinion. My last visit I came in with $200 for 9mm and .45, I asked the store manager to recommend ammo within my budget. He went out of his way to hit the mark at the end he discounted what he could and ate the rest (wasnt much). He could have pulled one box and gave me change. I didnt tell him I normally go out of my way to purchase from LAX. I will continue to go out of my way and purchase from this business. Customer service is almost nonexistent in todays world. Not here, I wish I got his name. However, I didnt leave without shaking the mans hand... I dont expect this treatment in my dealings... ever. Im obviously going out of my way to rate and share. Definitely going back and not expecting this treatment, Its not a sustainable business model. Just nice to see good people going the extra mile. I hope I dont get him in hot water...

This is by far the best place to buy ammo. All calibers to choose from. Different brands. Just overall great selection of products. Very fair pricing. I will never buy ammo anywhere else. Customer service is great also.

Do yourself a favor and just talk to the guys there because you never know what youll learn, or how they can help. Ive been involved in the sport for 30 years. I mentioned to Chase that I just got a new rifle and he steered me toward the proper ammo and educated me at the same time. All because he LISTENED and CARED. Thats what you need. Decent ammo prices and ammo. However, half the time I go to the place, hes not open during his listed hours. When he is there, the store closes when normal people get OFF work. On multiple occasions Ive taken time out of my work to go by the store and no one is there during his open hours and some paper sign is in the window that says be back later. Ill just drive the 2min over and go to another store that I know works regular hours and is actually open when they say they will be. Stop waisting my time.

This place is incredible. Piles and piles of ammunition in a variety of calibers at very good prices. The CCI Mini-Mag was at a price that was competitive with online prices from what I can tell. Chase is a really great guy as well. The first time I went there it was a particularly hot day, and he gave me a coconut water for free. You can have a great store but it dont mean much if customer service is lacking. This place doesnt lack it.

I was so jazzed when they opened up here. I was used to their deals at the original store, and when I moved here 3 years ago, the only bulk ammo I could find was a bunch of boxes of 20 rounds with no price break. Glad to see its taken off.

Great prices for a brick and mortar store. Even prior to recent changes to California laws related to ammunition sales, the prices here were (and still are) competitive with many online retailers. Its such a great change from buying ammo at a local range or getting completely gouged by the vast majority of local retailers

First time here. It was like Costco for Ammo. So much variety and low priced. Left there with over 100 rounds of shotgun ammo for 60 bucks. I will definitely come again and get all my ammo there from now on.

Angel claimed their prices are not the same as LAX Ammo in LA... two things, you are not paying shipping, and prices are not necessarily the same, specials may be different... That said, overall, their ammo is first rate, and price almost always is the best in SoCal... I shoot a fair amount of competition and their 9mm and .45 ACP is superb quality. Chase, the owner is a great guy and bends over backwards to ensure you are happy... He absolutely deserves your business...

Great selection stock of ammo.

I went there about two weeks ago to look at some rifle and pistol ammo. I am an experienced shooter and own several different types of firearms. However, a manager/salesperson there treated me like a no-nothing idiot. He aggressively questioned my knowledge of ammo and seemed annoyed when I responded to his questions about lower ammo prices elsewhere. At all times I was polite and did nothing to provoke this employee. Due to my treatment, I will not return. Please reconsider coming here.

Greeted and helped as soon as I walked in. I asked for 5.56 or .223 ammo and immediately was shown the best deal they had for the day. These guys really do have great prices on ammo in town.

Chase and everyone at LAX Ammo San diego has been super helpful. They really go above and beyond with their customer service. They have everything from match grade ammo to re-loads, 20rd box - 1000rd cases. Definitely worth a drive even if you dont live in the area.

I just stopped by withy my granddaughter to check out the place with the intention of MAYBE picking up a FEW round for a new gun. 3000 rounds later and Im on my way home a little short on cash left in my wallet. They are not the same as Lax ammo, prices are higher than Turners. When i asked about advertised prices he said rent in San Diego is higher. Dont expect good prices at this place i end up paying more.
