I just want to start off by saying i will never go with any other car dealership then Acura this was my first car purchase and my last dealership to decide on cars i was looking at and David was so nice to work with and everyone at this dealership made me feel so welcomed and really show me everything onto why their cars r truly the best! I’ve been a proud Acura owner for 15+ years. When I get my car serviced there is no better place than Kearny Mesa Acura. Juan in the service department is top notch. He really cares about the customer and addresses all needs promptly. Due to Covid shuttles aren’t running, he got me a ride to and from work though LYFT. Ive been shopping for a new car for several months. I knew what I wanted from research. I bought a car from Kearney Mesa Acura since there was no pressure to buy anything and Keith respected my choice. I was at another dealership a few months ago and told the salesman what I wanted. He promptly told me I didnt really want what I asked him about. He redircted me to something different. The one he suggested didnt have all of the features of the car I bought. I checked their inventory and it turns out they didnt have the car I really wanted. Shopping for a car isnt pleasant for me. No pressure and great service is what I respond to. I brought my RDX in and Juan Cardona helped me. He was patient, and listened while I explained the strange issue with my car. He said hed take a look, quickly sent me on my way, kept me posted, and let me know a couple of days later with the news that the problem was fixed. My family and I drove down to SD last weekend to visit family when the battery indicator light (red) came on and the dash warning message read: Check Charging System. Tried contacting the Service dept. right away since home in the Bay was 450+ miles away.... The dealership was open, but not the service department -- tried going through the online chat on their website as well as calling. None of that was very promising in terms of emergency diagnostics / repair plan. Drove the MDX over to the dealership and parked it right outside of their Service Dept. entrance (just in case it died / broke down, didnt want to deal with tow, etc.). Monday 6:30AM was there when they raised the gate and immediately downloaded the whole story to the service mgr. (out of town, from far away, didnt want to drive 450 miles on the I-5 and possibly break-down with my entire family, etc.). They immediately pulled the car in and went to work. Bad Alternator, everything else checked-out fine. 90 min. later the vehicle was fully repaired and I was back on the road by 8:30. Quite a turn-around all things considered. Was dreading the possibility of something much worse / more complex, parts not in stock, etc. etc. etc. Great job by this dealership service dept. getting the vehicle diagnosed, repaired, and back on the road in 90 min. while broke down in a remote city during a pandemic. 10 stars guys, 10 stars.

This was the second time I have leased a new Acura through Kearny Mesa Acura. I loved this dealership four years ago and when my first lease was up, I headed right back here. I have purchased 3 vehicles from here never had an issue prior. (2008 tsx, 2012 mdx and now a 2020 tlx a spec.) I highly highly recommend going 3rd party over buying a used vehicle from these people. (First used car i have purchased from them and the last vehicle I will ever purchase from them) the 2012 MDX was purchased 8 months ago after having issues with another car we had and were tired of the random repair costs. So we looked into the mdx found one here in white which we fell in love with and were assured by their sales people all maintenance had been taken care of and there shouldnt be anything for us to worry about. 8 months later and 6k miles since purchase we received a bill for nearly 1/2 of what we bought the car for in repair costs. Timing belt, shocks/struts, axil, and a slurry of other issues which in no way we caused seeing how it is only ever driven 10 miles a day to work and back and to the grocery store at-least once a week. On top of all this we also spent nearly 3k on a extended warranty which is what im coming out of pocket to get what they will cover repaired. This dealership which I have been coming to for years now is absolutely not worth going to unless your buying new and they absolutely have to stand by it. Even with their salesmen reassurance I should have had everything inspected but due to having a continuing relationship I didnt that Is on me. But the main point of this is it seems whoever is in charge of this dealership does not care about its customers. It does not standby their own vehicles and its only worry is getting you to come in and spend money. Go buy yourself any other vehicle or atleast do not buy from pensky acura (kearny mesa).*review edit*After talking to the GM of Kearny Mesa Acura in person they ended up working with me as much as they could possible and in the end they ended up bringing me back as a possible future customer. There is things that I personally couldnt guarantee that we didnt do but the things that I had been told were done were taken care of. The GM himself seems like a very genuine guy and does seem to care about his customers. Appreciate them working with me where they had the opportunity too. As far as only 4 stars instead of 5 the person I had talked to on the phone multiple times prior to coming in and talking to the GM himself seemed to be extremely condescending and absolutely is the main reason i went about posting my original review. She continually repeated herself and attempted to go back to a very generic defensive stance for themselves instead of attempting to help assist me with my problems. I am however unsure if that was the way Acura has trained her to do or if that is a personal stand point attempting to save the dealership money but in the long run this one person specifically almost made me never want to deal with Acura again.

He was nice, professional, knowledgeable, and competent.He found the exact car that I wanted and met my lease terms before I set foot in the dealership. When I arrived at the dealership, my new car had been delivered and cleaned, my lease had been approved, and all the paperwork was organized and ready to be signed. Everything was as we had discussed on the phone and in texts.Before I left the dealership, Kevin sat in the car with me to assist in setting up my preferences and to show me the features. Very easy non pushy, experienced and knowledgeable service. They worked with us and didn’t talk bad about any other brands we were looking at. They just wanted to show us the Acura and let us know about it and then make a deal on it, which we did. Great communication and an easy and actually fun process believe it or not. The other dealerships were pushy or annoying. These guys just wanted to make sure we knew everything and then wanted to make sure we got a good deal. When we left the first night there was no pressure to buy. The call came back the next day letting us know the car had arrived. So we went up and bought it. And love it. And will go back again when it’s time for another Acura which I am sure there will be a time in our future. I have an older TSX (16 years old) that developed an oil leak. To help me visualize and better understand the situation with my car, they showed me the most probable source - the VTEC solenoid gasket. They then pointed out the other items that needed attention - compliance bushings and because of that, a wheel alignment was in order. Had to leave my car with them over the weekend but luckily, there was a loaner vehicle available so I made use of that while my car was being serviced. My car was finished up at the end of the day Monday so I just picked it up after my work shift the next morning. Watching my oil drip pan daily and no new drips so far! Theyve been taking care of my car since I moved back here 8 years ago and Ill continue to go to them for my cars service needs.

Been coming here to service our Acura for 10 years and almost never had any complaint. In fact service has gotten better over the years and recently been really exceptional. They are a bit slow though can take about 2-3 hours for oil change so hard to wait and get an oil change.

For close to 5 months, I had problems with several warning lights coming on. Each time, I took it to the dealership I had been going to for 16 years; they never were able to resolve the problem. The last time the warning lights came on, I went to Kearny Mesa Acura and Mike Fentress was my service consultant. KMA had my car for two weeks; they were able to locate and fix the problem. My car drives like it’s brand new, it didn’t drive this well when I first bought it! I am very grateful for Mike’s and the service department’s persistence in fixing my car.

We were looking for a bigger SUV to accommodate our expanding family, and we narrowed down a few brands to check out. Our first stop was Acura, and we were greeted by Ruben, who had outstanding customer service and was really kind and polite. He was very patient while we asked a million questions, and never did come across as pushy or rushing to seal the deal. We were sold on the MDX, but they did not have the color I wanted. Peggy chimed in to help us get the exact color that we wanted, and Ruben went all the way to LA to get it! Talk about service beyond expectations. Have to say I really enjoy bringing my Acura for service here. The service team is awesome and very nice. Tom Mendoza rocks. I always get a honest answer to any of my concerns and a good Competitive price for repairs. It’s a good feeling to see the same service team when I come in. I believe it shows the company takes care of their employees and places a priority on retaining quality staff The dealership has a nice waiting area with great coffee and teas and a nice selection of snacks. The salesman are pretty cool and will take the time to answer any of your questions regarding their inventory of vehicles I do recommend this dealership hands down

I had the lucky opportunity to work with salesmen, Kevin Villasenor. During the test drive he was very informative and gave clear answers. We negotiated for 3 days and he always went to bat for me. I was impressed with his professionalism and not being pushy. Kevin worked hard to get my best price and once we had an agreement, papers were signed, then he patiently demonstrated the important operating details of my new car before I drove away! I later texted him that evening with a question and he responded right back. I had also forgotten something in the car and he texted me that he could swing it by for me. How thoughtful was he? I bought a 2016 CPO MDX with 24k miles and the car was great. After a few months I noticed a weird fluttering noise when accelerating on low rpm and also the transmission started to be really jerky (ZF9 is jerky as is but this was not notmal). They replaced the engine block and the whole transmission, changed the oil and filters and even ordered the steering wheel cover to replace which has been a bit faded from the sun! All free under warranty while giving me the only 2020 MDX loaner (I asked for an MDX) they had in the fleet. Thank you all so much, especially James. My car is good as new now.
