Ive been a customer of theirs for many years. Today I used their Rental studio for a photoshoot with a model. If youre needing a place to rent for a studio shoot, this is the place for you! It has multiple walls for creating different sets and pretty much all you need to bring is your lighting. They provide stands, light modifiers and stools, even some apple boxes. The staff is very accommodating and its very private, just close the door and no-one bothers you. Your free to just concentrate on your work.

This was a very good experience!Easy parking, ramps for those of us who have a hard time with stairs. The service is batting way above its size. Extremely friendly and customer intensive staff ready to answer any photo and service relates query.I drove in 1.5 hours and was greeted by World Class service. Everything was in order..everything worked perfectly when i got home.I will obviously be using this store as home base! You will not be dissapointed

This is a great store. Most of the staff is very friendly and helpful and enjoy talking about photography and offering advice. The only reason for the 4 star rating is that they are often extremely limited in the lenses they can offer, so when it comes to lenses I am often forced to buy online because they simply dont have what I am looking for.

They had the camera I wanted in stock and the salesman was real understanding as I havent picked up a real camera for 27 years. Free class next week, been watching YouTube to understand terminology. Looking forward for help in getting the most out of this camera.

Here lately Ive given 100% of my business to Camera Exchange. The experience of the sales staff is way better than anything you would get at a Best Buy or Target. For this reason Im now a loyal customer. The lens and camera rental department have a wide variety of choices to suit your needs. The prices are also quite fair for the service and product quality. This was my first visit and I am pleased that I stopped in to buy a new camera. I was immediately impressed by the large inventory of a wide selection of gear for sale and for rent. I think they take trade-ins too. Customer service here is top notch! The person who helped me was a pro and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend shopping here for your photography needs.

Needed an unusual sized lens cap. They had it. They also still sell film! Lots of great stuff in the store.

As a photography enthusiast, I was not comfortable trying to clean my camera sensor, so I took my camera in to be serviced. The staff were friendly and quick to help. I also sent two lenses in to be calibrated at the same time. They had a quick turnaround. I tested out the lenses that weekend and was very pleased with the cleaning and calibration. I will definitely be back to their store in the future :)

They do camera repairs abs sell used camera equipment. They are a great resource and offer wonderful help to answer camera questions and give classes.

The first time I went to this store the employee that helped me was great. I am brand new when it comes to photography and I went into this store hoping someone would lead me into the right direction of where to start. I would have bought a camera that day with the recommendations I was given, but I didn’t want to spend the full amount so I told myself I would be back.Today I went back and the service was horrible. I explained to them I was new at photography and wanted a beginners camera. This time I had all the money to spend. The guy helping me was horrible. He handed me a camera, said it was for beginners, and told me to basically figure it out myself. I will not be back to this store. If that’s the help I will get then I will Google and research everything out and buy from online recommendations.

Well stocked but not as good as 5 years ago. I was looking for a camera battery charger and they only had a third party one that I hope will work. I was ready to buy an 800meter lens. They did not have one in stock and it would take weeks to get one. Unfortunately I will be hundreds of miles from San Antonio.

I was asking for a tripod and the seller showed me the place where they are. I asked for prices and if they had other cheaper tripods, because sometimes second brands are very good quality and cheaper. It seems like he didnt like my question, he quickly showed me a cheaper one and ran away. Then, while Im looking the tripods he was ordering them next to me. So I decided to leave the place. When I am leaving the place another seller in used lenses stand said there you go I dont know what was his intention. I would have bought a Manfrotto be free gt xpro, I just needed a little love from the seller. I found the same model in the internet that was 50 dollars cheaper. Camera exchange probably needs competition in san antonio to start treating their customers well.

It was the best in-depth overview I’ve ever had - yes I know that sounds contrary but it exemplifies how Sam is able to condense a ton of information into what you, the user needs to know. Terrible service and employees lack knowledge.originally i went to purchase a gimbal and the employee at the time made it seem like i knew nothing about photography... nonetheless i purchased a gimbal and didn’t need it (literally just opened the box and saw how it worked and realized it wasn’t gonna be for me, i called to return it (note i had accepted the 15% restock fee) after i had spoken to them they said they couldn’t accommodate and that i had to go out of my way to return it again, fine. i sent my mom to go return it, they started making up random “scratches” to keep a higher percentage of the return and they were extremely disrespectful, i will never be returning here again, i would rather buy things from across the globe than ever shop here again. disgraceful people and bad company. do yourself a favor and if you’re in san antonio area just drive to austin and do business there, you’ll be much more content.

Recently had my camera cleaned here. It went pretty smoothly with a quick service but I did have an issue with material ending up on my focus screen that wasnt there before. With this issue you would think I might give a poor review but Roddy has been quite helpful in remedying the problem. It is currently being fixed by the crew over at Camera Exchange. Things happen and what sets apart a good company from a bad one is the company taking ownership of mistakes and showing the customer they care. As of right now I am not happy about the situation but I am very happy with how it is currently being handled. Good people who do try to make sure they are doing the right thing. I will always support that.

Excellent Customer service. Sam is so knowledgeable. I had been coming in with questions about my Nikon D600. I thought it was broken. Sam and Jack answered my questions. They set me up for my own class. Sam taught me so much about my camera that I have owned for so many years but I didnt know how to use all of the functions. He is calm and easy to understand. He explains even examples of why you would need certain settings. Sam and Jack know so much about cameras. They can help you out with any equipment needs you have specific to your work. Sam said he also teaches classes. I highly recommend Camera Exchange.

Took 2 classes at The Camera Exchange. Basics in Photography 1 and 2. Its definitely a beginners course but I genuinely found a lot of value in both the classes. Ive had my camera for a few years but wanted a better understanding of all the features my camera has to offer. I did feel I got my moneys worth. Received some great tips from a professional and portraits and landscape photography. I would definitely recommend these classes to people that are just starting off.

I am getting ready to visit this store for the 2nd time in the 5 years I have lived in San Antonio. The first time was rather nuetral. They declined to buy a camera i had stolen. Said it wad a bit too out of date. That is a perfectly understandable as long as they were truthful and fair. Which i have no reason to think they were not.

Great place to buy equipment. Been buying from them since 1977. Thats where I bought my first 35mm camera.

Im not the kind to leave bad reviews EVER (this is my first one)BUT I bought a camera and lens, used it about 4 times (its my second cam so i dont use it much) now the lens wont lock into the camera. I bought everything with warranty! Yet, they can’t help me AT ALL. All they said was “file it down and be careful because it can snap” ARE YOU SERIOUS? It was 1000000% my fault for trusting in the equipment they sell! I’ve had my old camera for over 5 years, works perfectly yet the camera I bought here after 6 months doesn’t work? I’ve never dropped the camera or lens. Never buying here again.

I am completely finished with this place. I can not believe the stupidity and lack of sense the staff and management have. I called in and PAID $700 for a camera to make sure I had it locked down. I send someone with my ID and my card just in case to pick it up for me and they told him he could not retrieve the item. But instead of just calling me or letting him call me, these idiots push a return and tell me that I now have to wait three days to get my money back.

The staff here are AMAZING!! Especially Sam! They are very helpful helping you and informing you of any questions you may have. The classes they have there are great also Ive leaned so much through these people.I rent lenses and equipment through them all the time and have no complaints.

They had what we needed-- sort of. We called ahead for a charger. Instead of the Sony we were after the had a Sony multi-charger (Ive not had good luck with these) or an off -brand single charger which I bought. It seems to work fine and came with a spare battery for the same price as the multi -charger. If they had told me that over the phone I would have been fine. As is I felt Like it was a bit of a bait and switch. But it works and Im happy.
