Check your tanks before you leave the store! I exchanged an acetylene tank here only to get home and find out its empty... I am new to metal smithing and thought maybe my regulator broke so I reached out to a friend. A week later she informed me they accidentally gave me an empty tank(apparently its happened to her at another location and they exchanged the tank free of cost) I got on the phone to let them know of my issue only to be told that they would not do a refund nor could they help me... $40+ dollars for an empty tank...

I realize mistakes happen but when you purchase a tank and it’s empty seems like they would give a free exchange

Praxair is always great to deal with. I like the Salt Lake store a little better then the others. The manager is very friendly and helpful.

These guys have great customer service and I’ve been using them for over a decade. I swapped my oxygen bottle a couple weeks ago and didn’t use the new one until today. Turns out the new one was empty so I took it back and they swapped it out and apologized for the mix up.

The last time I was there, it was a bad experience. I was dealing wity an issue where the obvious solution was to sell me something. Somehow they failed at that. My fiancé went there this week to switch out her tank. They gave her this piece of crap tank that the top is so rounded off. Its almost impossible to turn off and on. These guys are falling short on quality, service, and sales. Obviously, they need to change something.

First things first, the staff here are friendly and genuinely want to help but theyre hindered by corporate charging more than any other welding supply in town. Heres some examples, multimatic 215 tig kit msrp $509, other stores and online retailers sell for $400. Thats a significant difference. Gas, a bottle of trimix 60cu from here will run over $350, everyone else sells for $250. At some point Praxair needs to keep with competitive pricing if they want to retain business.

Prax was recommended to me by a colleague. I have been struggling with ill fitting welding gloves. I essentially knew what I was looking for and was psyched they had them in stock. It is surprisingly difficult to find a dexterous, good quality glove for smaller hands. The gentleman at the counter asked me about my work and my progress as a metal worker. He made a few suggestions and was really helpful. It was really encouraging. I am looking forward to building out my shop and would not hesitate buying from Prax time and time again.

I realize it probably isnt typical for lots of women to come into these places, but I walked in and the man behind the counter told me he just had to finish up what he was doing and he’d be right with me. That’s totally fine and very understandable. But a man walked in about 30 seconds later, walked up to the counter, and got helped immediately. While he was being helped, another man walked in and another worker came out and asked how he could help him. Whether it was my gender or staff oblivion or both that contributed to this is irrelevant. I walked out. Customer service is everything and that was everything wrong.

Very good service and price

Helped get the welding machine that I wanted at a good price. Unlike other air, gas, and welding stores that Ive been to, they acknowledged that Im a welding student and prior military. They did what they could to help get the best price possible for my machine and gas.
