Brought a car here for a used car inspection. They were very quick and easily pointed out five or six issues within about 10 minutes. They were friendly and answered all my questions and showed me the details underneath the car. I would trust their judgment 100% on mechanical issues. Ive been to a lot of mechanic shops in the salt lake area and this one might be the best I have ever been to.

We were driving from out of state and had car problems on the way. We left a voicemail for multiple shops over the weekend, and Richard called us back first thing the next morning. They were the only shop to give us a call back.We were able to drop our car off as soon as they opened in the morning, and we received updates throughout the day about the work on our car. As soon as it was done mid-day, we got a call that the work was done. Richard was very pleasant to talk to every time!Overall, the quality of work was excellent, the prices very fair, and the customer service was great! We would recommend this shop to anyone needing car repairs.

I heard about these guys on the radio and has never heard anything bad, so I figured I’d give them a try, I brought our new car in for the used car check up that they offer and wasn’t disappointed. From the phone call to schedule an appointment to getting me taken care of they did an excellent job all around. They were fast and friendly, got in and did what I wanted them to. While I was waiting they had a nice clean waiting area to watch some tv, grab a drink and relax while they got me taken care of quickly. Definitely recommend these guys if you are needing work done on your vehicle, they’ll take care of you quickly and do a great job!

I was scheduled for 1pm and the owner finished his current car early and took my car in for service immediately after. He did not make me wait in which case I would have waited anyways.. the people here are on top of it.. Ill come back when I need to , from here on out.

Excel Automotive is a Refreshing Surprise!I am always leery of Auto Repair / Mechanic Shops.....but that all just changed for me today.I called ahead to make an appointment. The gentlemen that answered the phone was astonishingly pleasant and patience and very courteous and accommodating (ok, I am already confused. I thought it was the modern day industry standard to get a rude, impatient guy - out of breath - answering the phone, and acting like you are wasting his time).I went in with a Coupon fully prepared for them to come into the waiting room and have a laundry list of repairs that I needed - Before they could complete my Emissions and Registration Renewal... but again I was left dumbfounded.They got me in at EXACTLY the time of my Appointment. The shop was very clean and professional looking. The Waiting Room was clean and pleasing. And true to their word, they had me in and out in ten minutes.They told me my car was in good shape, and thanked me for coming in, and hoped they would see me again!WOW!!! My regular mechanic recently went out of business, so I searched for well rated mechanics in the area. Excel came up and I scheduled an appointment. Their schedule was flexible, and I ended up with a smaller bill than original quoted, which was a great surprise. Additionally, I had my emissions and safety renewal done the following week, and they were very quick with everything and explained things simply and concisely. Will definitely be using them in the future.

I have called and Once the owner asked how I got his number as he was off.The next/last time I called/call he could not help for 2-3 weeks. I understand the Covid-19, although as a Proprietor, I believe it would be in the best interests of your company to want to ask questions to assist your potential consumer. In the end we are the ones that keep the business going. I would definitely not recommend. There was no consideration or empathy. Basically were busy for two to three weeks out.

Everyone at Excel was incredibly professional and accommodating. I had commitments in the morning so they worked me in early. I needed something fixed and expressed my concerns. They had the manager talk with me and they fixed everything to my satisfaction. They did not charge me extra and even credited me for the issue. Richard is amazing and understanding and Kip and the other people who worked on my car made sure everything was right. I was impressed that they took extra time to do a good job and fix any issue or concern I had. They run their shop with integrity which can be a rare thing. I will recommend their service and use them in the future.

Had my emissions done here over lunch. Great experience. I had an appointment, everything was ready when I arrived and it was the quickest appoint I’ve had at a emissions place. I was able to renew and print my sticker in the same visit for convenience. They did not try to up sell additional services or plans like most places I’ve been to in the past. I have been going to Excel Automotive for almost nine years. A friend of mine was the owner of the Saturn dealership that got shut down when the pulled the pug on Saturn Brand. His mechanics started Excel automotive and they are the best. Several times I have taken my vehicle in to be fixed and they told me what should be fixed and what didnt really need fixing. Many times they have shown their honesty and I trust them with all my cars. Their prices are fair, not cheap, but the service is done well and on time. They also call you if there is something that comes up they were not counting on, including work that we thought needed to be done but didnt. I dont think you can do better than Excel for car repairs.

When I called Excel on Monday morning, they had a couple of options for me to choose a time to bring my car in for an oil change that day. They were able to work with me when I had to reschedule that same day. I was concerned about the drain plug getting over-tightened, which is what happened at the last place I went. They reassured me that wouldnt happen there and I was in and out quickly. 20 minutes! Free drinks and free candy for the kids. Awesome service and customer service! As Arnold would say: Ill be back!

First time I’ve left the mechanics happy and knew it was completely honest work. I came in thinking I had a cracked radiator or worse and he basically just explained that there was not enough fluid fed in. I thought this was going to be a huge repair and all in all it cost a few bucks. Honest team here and great people.
