This is the place! You heard me. I am a big town girl living in a small world. I’ve tried KC, Overland Park, and even the dreaded online. I almost gave up until I made an appointment and was asked very tailored questions by a genuinely interested dress finder who gave me hope! Two days later I was greeted by the most wonderful and helpful staff. The dress selection was awesome and they carried so many sizes and types. The pricing was phenomenal ($-$$ for FORMAL WEAR WHAT!) and everything was so tailored to my needs, even my son had a ball. I took my time, tried on a variety of dresses, the staff was so attentive and helpful. I am pleased to say I found a dress for my event, or maybe two!!! Thank you so much!!

I had the best experience here and found the most gorgeous dress for an upcoming military ball. I had searched tons of stores in 4 cities between Colorado & Kansas and it wasnt until I stopped in here that I found the perfect dress. Grace was wonderful helping me pick dresses to try and getting in and out of them. Every one there is so nice, and the store has so many beautiful options all priced reasonably. I cant say enough good things about this place, Im so happy with my dress, new earrings and service. Thank you!

Fantastic experience!! Staff was friendly and personable, making you feel comfortable. They were NOT pushy or opinionated. Last minute plans put me in a time crunch of 10days for finding a ball gown on top of needing alterations. Princess and Penguin had plenty of options to choose from making the choice of only one dress difficult. They were also more than happy to make sure my alterations were done in time. Just bring your shoes! I’ll definitely be back. 100% satisfied customer.

I do not have the words to describe how amazing this shop is. They are BEYOND helpful in making sure your special day is perfect and that you feel perfect! Bought my wedding dress and had lost weight, at my fitting my dress was huge on me and they ordered another size the next day, without any hesitation on cost to make sure I was happy with the dress! They truly care about all of their clients and want to help in anyway they can. I would recommend this place 1000 times over!

They was great helping the bride pick out her dress but went down hill very quickly from there! The bridesmaids had an appointment right after the bride. They walked away said just a minute, that was the end of any assistance we got! We picked the dresses with no help! Once we finally got enough attention to ask if we could get three more of them the lady who does alterations smarted off those aren’t bridesmaids dresses, “Well they are now”! She then proceeded to say she would order me the size I tried on! It was huge on me! I stated multiple times I wanted smaller that you could see down the back and everything else! She said don’t worry I can alter it to fit.. why when I can order a smaller size? She ordered me the too big dress altered the length charged me $80 for the alterations! It’s still to big in the waistline! My sister picked it up and they was very rude to her! Never will a they get my business or anyone I knows business! Worst customer service! They make alterations you don’t need or want! The bride’s alterations ended up costing as much as the dress and the is not even happy with the finished product! I am adding an update to add that the owner of the store was great and like I said before helped the bride with picking her dress and she was wonderful! We had no complaints with her! The bride had no negative comments about her! I feel to be fair that needs to be said!

I had the most wonderful experience at Princess and Penguin! The ladies were so genuine and helpful. They listened to everything I wanted and made me feel so special. I didn’t feel rushed or like they were pushy at all. I was on a time crunch and they made sure all my alterations would be completed in time! They included all of my party I brought along and followed all COVID precautions so we felt very safe. Without them I would not have what I need in time or with such wonderful quality!

I took my daughter and her friend to Princess & Penguin today, looking for prom dresses. When we first arrived I was nervous about how much dresses would cost, but was very surprised that prices were very affordable. The staff was very nice and helpful. We ended up getting two beautiful dresses. I would highly recommend this dress store.

I love the staff there they are all so kind the lady that does the alterations made sure that the alterations that I wanted done were done and she even gave me some ideas that I loved and we went with. Its definitely the place to go for formal wear. We did have one little issue with scheduling but careese (not sure how to spell her name) was on the ball about getting it fixed and me taken care of we even rented my fiancee and his best mens tuxedos from them. We have 27days to our wedding and Im so excited to see my man in his tuxedo and for him to see me in my wedding dress.

We came from Hutchinson to shop for my sisters wedding dress and we were BLOWN AWAY! I will always recommend this little shop over in Salina over any place in Wichita. We had previously been to David’s Bridal but Princess and Penguins Formal Wear really showed up! Lots of beautiful dresses and styles to choose from and such a wonderful owner! I can’t say enough ❤️

Cant go wrong here! As with everyone this last year, we experienced Covid troubles. We had to reschedule the wedding, and one of my groomsmen couldnt even make the trip. However, one of the consistent parts of our preparation was the flexibility of Princess & Penguin. They worked with us on our rescheduling and changes to the plan with no problem at all. Another important thing to note is that Im a skinny 610 tall. This makes it very tricky to find anything that fits. We worked through many possibilities and revaluated our options many times to see what worked best for ME. These guys are great.

I just purchased my wedding dress there today and had THE BEST EXPERIENCE!!! This is my second go around at getting married, the first time I used Davids Bridal and let me tell you Davids Bridal has nothing on this place. The dresses at Princess & Penguin arent cookie cutter and you will get AMAZING service! Everyone on staff there is super kind and helpful. They are willing to go the extra mile and can help you add alterations like custom sleeves, lining, etc. I also saw them working with brides to bring a dress into their price range. They also offer military discounts. And all the dresses are much more affordable than Davids bridal.

This place has been absolutely wonderful!!!! I cant believe I went in to get a bridesmaid gown paid 20 for the dress on sale!!! 😍😍 It fit perfectly! I also, was able to get a strapless bra that is being altered to fit the waist... I have never owned a strapless bra before!!! I am so happy and pleased!!!

My daughter got her dress here. Caressise was wonderful! She did a great job helping my daughter get just the right dress. Her ideas for the veil & tiara were spot on. Linda & Erica were amazing with her alterations. The dress & veil are perfect. Everyone is super nice & helpful! I would definitely recommend them if you want that personal touch!

So I was graduating from college a few weeks back and I had an award ceremony that I needed to find a shirt for. However I wanted this shirt to have the cuff link holes because I had cuff links that I wanted to wear. Being the procrastinator that I am I waited until the day before the awards ceremony to attempt to look for a shirt. No other place had shirts with cuff link holes in the area. Not Kohl’s, not JC Penny’s, no one. So I called Princess and Penguin as a last ditch attempt to find a shirt with the expectation that once they found out the event was the next day they would tell me there was nothing they could do. Regardless I explained my situation and from the second I called I received arguably the best customer service that I have ever had. I believe I was speaking with Caresse and she told me that if I could come in and get my measurements taken then she could ask their supplier to do a rush order and have the shirt for me by tomorrow morning. I went in and Caresse was so nice and accommodating that I decided right on the spot that even if she wasn’t able to get the shirt for me I would give them the best review I could. They so empathetic with my situation and did everything they could to help me out. The rushed order ended up getting approved and I received the shirt I needed. Not only was it very reasonably priced but it was honestly one of the most comfortable dress shirts I’ve ever owned. Bottom line is, if you are going any other place for your dress clothes needs, you’re making a HUGE mistake. Give this place your business you will not regret it.

I found the dress of my dreams here! The owner was such a sweet, fun woman and I couldnt have had a better experience. I was so indecisive and wanted to try 2 dresses on multiple times, and not once did she make me feel rushed or anything. She actually suggested i try them on more than once. She also had great suggestions on accessories. Prices were very affordable. Overall would 10/10 reccomend!

Cant say enough good things about Caresse and her team! They have went above and beyond to make my experience amazing and even though I did not get my dress there (which I WISH I could have!) she was very helpful, patient, and understanding! It was also very nice that it was a one stop shop for the wedding as we were able to purchase our bridesmaid dresses, tuxs, mother of the groom dress, and more from the shop!

Went just looking, for my daughters first prom dress. But ended up finding The dress. The sales girl was very friendly , understood our intention so gave us space and let us look without pressure but was right there to put things in the dressing room to try. At the sale the owner (I think) gave us extras that we did not expect. Overall great experience!

They did an excellent job. Got me in and out with ease, tailored to my prices, matched my colors, and overall I felt welcomed and appreciated. I gave a 4/5 purely as I didn’t get to try my tux on, and it was ordered and I won’t get to try it till 2 days before prom. But amazing amazing place!

The guests that I have brought along with me to see me in my dress that was specially ordered in just for me, felt just as welcomed as I always have! Had MONTHS of planning for our wedding. Not 1 of my 5 groomsmans tuxedos fit they. Same with some of the bridesmaids dresses.

We purchased my fiancées wedding dress there. They have been very helpful without being rude or pushy with their sales.They have a very large selection for the saze of town we are in and at a great price.We also received a thank you card from the sales persone who originally helped us out.On a side note they also carry a large amount of prom type attire ans works with Jims formal wear if you would like to pick out Tuxs or Suites.

I was looking for a dress for a very formal event and liked so many dresses I had a hard time choosing just one! I’ve shopped for prom dresses etc. in Kansas City and at various Dillard’s and I was more impressed with the selection and quality here. They had lots of fabulous sparkly options. I also really enjoyed having help from the staff. It made it feel more like a wedding dress appointment than dress shopping. This isn’t where I got my wedding dress, but if I did a vow renewal in the future, I would definitely consider looking for a dress here.
