Awesome hardware store with a little bit of everything. The employees are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Lots of cool toys and puzzles and old school candy as well. Parking could be a little difficult, but worth the trip. Debit and credit cards are accepted with the exception of American Express. Masks are required so dont forget to wear it!

All our family try to shop here and honor small businesses. We are a small business. But.. they do not try to please us, the usual customer. No you can not exchange that small item i sold you yesterday without a receipt. Are you kidding? I know you can track costs without a receipt and change inventory. Nope. And... they just seem to stop trying. Our grown kids live in the hood but now shop there ONLY when they have too cause it is close. Its sad. It could be such a great store. And they complain a lot about stuff. And instead of seeking what customers want in buy and stocking it, they just cant sell what they have so they complain about the economy or theft. Its not good business practice. And as a customer, i will go elsewhere whenever possible. Probably another locally owned store that does a good job, knows how to pivot, market their business, fix empty displays, and honor their customers without complaining.

Its such a pleasure to be able to get GOOD advice and legitimate help from knowledgable staff at a hardware store. I didnt know what I was missing by frequenting home depot until I came to a place like this. Ive been in this store about 10 times since moving to East Sac a few months ago and every time I leave being thankful for their great customer service. They also have a great selection of higher end toys. Bought my son a lite brite for old times sake. Keep up the great work, youve got my business from this point forward!

I know that the name of the place implies that they are just a hardware store, butWhats in a name? Oh, where do I begin? They are so much more! Sure, they have hardware such as nails, screws and quite a large choice of paint that that can be turned into a large choice of colors. But just keep looking...and you will find kitchen gadgets galore, mops, brooms and cleaning solutions. Cards, candles, and the most wonderful selection of toys for tots to teens and in betweens. For learning and for playing even from back when I was a kid in the late 1950s. Pre-corona virus days, they always had bags of fresh hotpopcorn free to nibble on as you walked through the store. The selection of candy make makes what movie theaters used to offer seem like a drop in the bucket! Out with the old and in with the new. COME ON 2021, WE SURE NEED YOU AND THE VACCINE TOO!!!!!!! Been wanting to check this store out and it was everything plus an Abba-zabba! Got my staple gun, screws and candy bar. Service was great and this will be my new go-to for childrens gifts and puzzles. Plus they are a real hardware store.

I live about ten blocks from East Sac Hardware and it is so convenient for me to pick up supplies there for small projects. There is always plenty of friendly staff with good product knowledge. Im grateful this old hardware store has survived being surrounded by big box home improvement stores.

Having just moved to Sacramento and wanting to avoid box stores, East Sac Hardware is exactly what was needed. Youll find just about everything you need, from as local as possible sources; making it easy to buy US made products at reasonable prices. Well be back, frequently!

I called looking for a color chip instead of coming into the store due to covid restrictions and the girl that answered the phone said she didn’t have time to look and that I would have to come in because they were too busy. It would have taken less than two minutes to see if they had a swatch in stock. Then she reposed to me by saying I was very self centered. If that’s the way they teach customer service then the Competition has nothing to worry about. If I need Benjamin Moore I will go to Emigh hardware and never recommend East sac hardware.

Although its convenient, they are not friendly at all. The lady doesnt smile and she redirects the work to others. Really doesnt seem like she likes working or owning this business.

Love this place! All the employees are so kind, helpful & courteous! They are always attentive & can answer my (many) questions effortlessly. From paint, to hardware, to the salt fly gun they sell (check it out!). They are a small town feel in the capitol & I absolutely it. A personal touch I haven’t found anywhere else

Ive been going to East Sac Hardware since 1986. I love this place! Every once in a while they dont have what I need so I have to trek up the road to Home Depot, but for such a small store they have a great selection. The staff is great 90% of the time. The long timers are knowledgeable and helpful, if occasionally gruff. It isnt social hour, its a hardware store. I just have to say to those that have run into the gruffness, give em a break. We dont all have a sunny disposition all the time. The no phone policy at the register? Little strict, but I applaud it. No bikes in the store? No kidding. There is barely room to turn around in there. I just have to say how much a appreciate a small store that carries so much merchandise with knowledgeable staff. Oh, and did I mention it is a great place for little gifts and kitchen ware? Seriously, a cool place.

The customer service was incredible. Mark helped me find all the equipment to repair my ceiling fan/light in my kitchen. He helped me coordinate how to attach the wiring and I honestly don’t believe I could have done this without him. Thank you! The location is great. Tired of going to Home Depot and spending a large part of your time there trying to find what you want or trying to find someone who can tell you where it is ? This is the place to go. I have been an East Sac Customer since I moved to the area in 1997 and have been in love with this charming Hardware store ever since. I look for Opie, Aunt Bee, Sheriff Andy and Barnie around each corner. They know their stuff and are always welcoming with a huge smile and an eagerness to help. This place is the greatest. Since my first time there it has been a great pleasure and experience to go there. You are greeted by a freezer full of ice cream bars and cool blues music. The staff is very knowledgeable and share their particular expertise among each other. When you are looking for something, if ESH doesnt have it then it doesnt exist (in a utilitarian world). The number of staff is well matched to the number of customers, who will take you right to the item. The only disappointment is to loose the adventure of browsing the variety, neatly displayed in a compact place. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and an adventure in itself.

Love Love Love! Im usually a HomeDepot girl but lets face it, they never have what you want. East Sac came through for me today and they found a loyal customer in me. Such a great place! Ive actually asked my guy is we can have a date here one night...I cant wait lol! Were going to get keys made and pick up some gifts for the kiddos, while checking off some items on our honey-do list.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I love this place. No, they cant keep pace on every single item price wise as the big box stores, but if you need the hard to find specialty items for something a little out of the ordinary, chances are they have what you need. If they dont, the staff is knowledgeable enough to be able to suggest alternate ways of getting your project done. My last trip in there was for just that kind of thing and not only did they have what I needed, they also had it for much less than I was able to find anywhere else. I then proceeded to inquire about another white elephant of mine and they had it as well. Again, for much less than I was able to find anywhere else. Its not a big box store and if thats what you want then get on the freeway and go there. If you want some personal attention from someone who knows what theyre talking about then stay in your neighborhood and go to East Sac Hardware. Theyll steer you in the right direction.

I have lived in East Sac for 14 years and I own my home. On Saturday (9/28/2019) my daughter and I went to East Sac Hardware to fundraise for her school (Sutter Middle School) since we noticed they donated last year we thought about asking if they were interested in donating again this year. The woman at the store Sheri or Sheryl was extremely rude to my daughter. We came in today to touch base since there was no management on Saturday. Sheri* began to give my daughter attitude as to why did she drop her paperwork off on Saturday and it not ok for her to think businesses just hand out checks over the counter and she needs to know that instead of just asking and to next time email her. How are we suppose to know, her own employee told us to come back on Monday. I have given East Sac Hardware my business and used plumbers that they have recommended. I will no longer give my business to this hardware store and will look into another small business. There is never and excuse to talk down to a child. Highly disappointed.

We recently had Cole Hardwares in-house locksmith,Marc, come by to fix a broken lock. He was awesome! Prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable (this guy really knows his stuff!, he had our lock fixed in no time. We would definitely go back to Cole Hardware if we had another problem.

Great little hardware store with a surprising amount of inventory relative to its size! I pretty much always find what I need for home projects (unless they involve lumber), and they even helped me cart bags of soil home when doing some landscaping - the best service!

No, they dont have every single item you may need... but, they have 90%+. I love this place and try to go here first. The people know what they are doing and are nice to deal with.

I try to the best of my ability to support local businesses. I shopped at East Sac Hardware knowing I would be paying more for items than if I went to Home Depot.I purchased some shower faucet handles and they didnt fit. I took them back with the receipt but was told that because I didnt have the complete, intact packing the handles came in, I wouldnt be able to exchange or get my money back.I hate to shop at big chain stores but Ill never step foot in this business again. I paid almost 18 bucks for the faucets handles. I went and got the proper faucet handles at Home Depot for 10 bucks.Suck it, East Sac Hardware. Suck it long and suck it hard.

Friendly, knowledgeable, quick and it was the only hardware store in our area still open on a Sunday evening. We were doing a job downtown and needed some some last minute supplies, it saved our night!

My family and I have been going to that hardware since we moved into the neighborhood when I was four years old in the summer of 1950. I believe Dads 1st purchase was a swamp cooler for our dining room window. It made all the difference. From that time on we have enjoyed our experience with them. Dad built a new room onto our house, a hot-house on the back of the garage and a huge-a-monges patio with roof and lovered wall. All of his supplies came from this hardware store. They are always friendly and helpful.I think if someone keeps coming back over and over again they must like the place, not despise it as purported by one. Perhaps if he went into the store with a good attitude, smiled, and even asked whoever tried to help him with his needs how they are doing, he might get what he calls better service. A smile and a handshake works wonders. Its what the rest of us are doing. Thats why we have a good experience every time.You guys are great! Keep up the good work.

Incredibly, no, ridiculously over priced. A pack of magnets that was $4 at Home Depot they wanted $13 for. When I asked about price comparisons they worker said he doesnt make the rules and thats the price. Same exact item I can get anywhere else for $4.

Showed up at 630pm, Google said closes at 7pm. CLOSED AT 6PM... Very frustrating because I could have came earlier. .Called to let them know. Lady who answered the phone acted annoyed and told meTHE HOURS ARE POSTED ON THE DOOR Another time I was checking out. Cashier answered the phone. Condescending, rude and impatient. was rolling her eyes the whole time she was on the phone with the customer. .

I havent had good customer service with this place since i recently moved about a month ago. Ive had to go in there a lot, unfortunetely, because we have been doing a lot of fixing up the house and its only about 5 blocks away. I had my last straw today when i rode my bike over to buy a bike lock and the guy wouldnt let me put it in the back so i could go inside and buy the bike lock so my bike wouldnt get stolen in the meantime. What kind of sense does that make? Theyve officially lost my business and ill stick to home depot.

East Sac Hardware is great. They have a wide selection of products with many of those made in the USA. There is always someone to help me find items and offer advice on how to do things. The prices are reasonable and often comparable to Home Depot or Lowes most especially when comparing the sporadic service at the big box stores.
