I can’t say enough good things about this friendly store. I have always had good experiences here, but today stands out. Sarah in the hardware department went above and beyond to fix my problem. I brought in a German cart/trolley that had lost two essential screws. I had tried to get replacement parts online, but that was impossible. Sarah tried out several different sizes and different washers and nuts, and she fixed both sides perfectly. The parts cost just pennies, but she really wanted to help me. The service I got today makes me never want to go back to a big box store.

They were super helpful and friendly. The sales associate helped me find the appropriate plumbing attachments for my project and gave great advice. He worked with me and never seemed condescending regarding my lack of knowledge. I will definitely go back.

This is one of my favorite places to come for hardware stuff. They even match paint perfectly for me and that’s hard to do!

Its always easier to grab an employee and get help from smaller stores than at Home Depot, and this store is no exception. Except that some employees dont seem to be knowledgeable enough know what cable gland is, or will hands you 3/4 washer when you ask for 1/2. Youll get the help you need most of the time at this friendly store though. And there is no substitute for being able to make a quick jaunt to the store and then continue to work on your project.

I felt right at home the moment I walked through the door. My first time visiting and I seemed to know where what I was looking for was without even asking. Just the basics here and I love that. The customer service is and product knowledge is impeccable. Im happy l put down the tablet and actually visited the neighborhood store instead of pointing and clicking.

I love having a small hardware store right in midtown where I live. They have everything you need, and they are very helpful. Its so much more convenient than driving to Home Depot, parking, and walking a mile once youre inside to find a screw. They are closed on Sundays, and they are not open late enough for me to visit on weekdays, which is the only reason I did not give five stars.

The staff are impeccable in vast knowledge. I never would have thought this place (a local hardware store ) would have such selection of nearly everything you need for whatever it is you are doing . Really helpful being so in the middle of the city. Seems like a lot of history at this place.

To be honest, I didnt even know Ace Hardware was in town (Sacramento) but after they were the only store in town that had my particular BBQ I went with them. Best buying experience of any Lows or Home Depo by far. Every person I had contact with was courteous and more importantly knowledgeable, ever level from being in store 1815 I street where the employees are happy to see you and will stop whatever they are doing to help you. My BBQ was to big for my car so the salesman said no problem we will deliver it to you this after noon at around 3:00pm, sure enough 3:04 a ACE van pulls up and pulls out my already assembled brand new BBQ and carried it through my house and in the backyard all free of charge. I was eating a BBQed steak by 6:00pm that night, now that is service!!! I guess in the end it you tend to forget the old ways and assume the big home stores are all youve got, that could not be farther from the truth as I found out. Next time you need a hardware store give ACE a try it worth it...

I live in mid town and shop there all the time. It is GREAT to have a well stocked neighborhood hardware store with knowledgeable friendly staff. I shudder when Im forced to shop the big box stores for something. For the haters posting negative comments here, be careful what you wish for. It could be another liquor store...lol

Has a good selection of tools and items for projects. I have been multiple times and staff is helpful and knowledgeable. They even often carry firewood. Prices are as expected. Usually parking available in front but more in back.

Sarah at this store is amazing!! She let me bring my new (used) bike in while I looked for a bike lock (she offered before I even asked) and helped me also find a very specific type of screw that I needed. Not only that, but she noticed that my bike brakes were squeaking and actually fixed it up for me right then and there- and held the door for me as I wheeled out. She went above and beyond, and made my stressful day much less stressful.

I have shopped here since 2001. Recently, the last three visits over about 6 months have been excellent. Everyone is helpful, greeting me every time I come in. They stop what they are doing to help me. The service was always ok , however, they have moved into excellent service.I live downtown and walk everywhere. I got rid of my car 12 years ago. I went in to get propane for our stove and I am homeless and I walk most of the time. I had my wagon with me and they had one of the employees following me. I DO NOT GO ANYWHERE UNLESS I HAVE MONEY. This particular Ace is going through a remodel. It will look nice when its finished. I think they are adding inventory as well. Not necessarily cheap. But they are friendly & helpful enough. Good local joint for Midtown peeps.

The employees here are so friendly and helpful. I work for a construction company and needed plastic pools in a pinch. Called the store and the man that answered was so nice and friendly. A very nice Lady helped me out to my truck with them. Every employee I encountered was so friendly. Definitely getting our business from here on out !

This place has the rudest people ever. So I went in there to go look for stuff for my garden. I had ask a man that I was looking for 1inch drip lines and he had said that they dont have it in a frustrated way like I was bothering him and his work. Which is very unprofessional. And then I went on to asking if I can place an order for it and he said yes told the lady to put in an order for me. She got all the info down.plus my phone number and name is logan. She says that shell call me the next day. Which is very weird usually when I got to ace hardware they can order it for me right there and then. So as a kind man I am I was patient and told her Ill be waiting for her call cause I need it. Now today has been the third day and no phone call or email at all. Im very upset that these employees at a hardware store cannot use costunerswvice in a professional way. And yes you two know who u guys are ok. So I hope that other costumer dont get treated the way I how I did. Have a great life mean people.

Awesome service. Andy is an extremely friendly and knowledgeable cashier with the hair of a Scottish or Irish warrior of love. Overall the staff is extremely potent and caring leading one to feel at home amongst the wide variety of hardware related goods. If you browse long enough one will come across hilarious novelties hidden like Easter eggs to tickle even the most jaded customers funny bones.

I like the old school feel of this place. When you need an item quickly, theres usually an associate who can point you in right direction, and offer helpful advice. Preferable to going to a big box retailer.

Small crammed space in the middle of rearranging all their aisles. Parking is very limited on the lot and street parking is difficult at best. But if youre downtown its almost the only place available for hardware.

Absolutely love this local hardware store. They have the most helpful staff who are so fun and enthusiastic. Have generally been able to find the items I am looking for when it comes to general household items (outdoor and indoor), plus I find they are similar price or even more affordable than a place like Home Depot. Plus I found they had more options when it came to buying a basic Weber barbecue recently. Its easy to stop by, get your item and get on your way. Lastly youre supporting the local economy when shopping here because its owned by a family that lives here in Sacramento.

This is a class hardware store, no question. These guys know a great deal about what they sell and what its for. Whether its tools, fasteners, paint, cleaners or whatever they know about their products more than any other hardware store I can think of, its pretty impressive. Ace has usually been a good compliment to Home Depot, having their own set of supplies it is hard to find elsewhere. Their downtown location has also been my only option sometimes to buy hardware during lunch if I cant take the time after work. But the downside is that the selection is that the variety is a bit smaller than that of larger stores. I was especially disappointed on my latest visit to walk a mile to find half the things I came for out of stock - including vegetable seeds for my fall garden. Small items would be easier to mail order.
