Oh. My. Goodness. So good! We stopped here on a road trip and it was amazing!! The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The food was AMAZING!! I cant say it enough. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the breakfast sandwich! The coffee was also very good. We bought some of the English muffins they make in house on our way out and I already know I need to find out how to get more from home (we sadly live 3hrs away).

Fell in love inside immediately. Love the room and seating options inside. Table and chairs are everywhere. The best part to me were the four oversized leather chairs with great western pattern. These are wondrously comfortable for conversation and reading. there are a few seats outside with shade provided. There are a good number of drink offerings. As a tea totaler, I appreciated the iced green teal; tasty and chill. The peanut butter cookie is just one of many offerings. Next time, Im going to try the pizza. Yes, you read that correctly. All the locations have more than a lovely pastry display which is great!Parking is around the streets nearby or the parking lot right next to the shop. Wholeheartedly recommend this location for a good selection of food and drink as well as plenty of room for relaxing.

I got a cold brew, and it was delicious. The man who took my order was friendly and enthusiastic. Its a cute little area in a back alley by a parking lot. The parking lot is a bit of a hassle, so its best to park a few blocks away and walk. All of thats totally worth it, though, because its a really nice place.

Cool atmosphere and friendly. However latte was “okay” and wasn’t a fan of espresso flavor notes. I also ordered a grilled cheese and received a warmed piece of bread with a melted cheese slice and a couple pieces of spinach (felt like I was eating cheap cheesy bread). Very subpar for a $9 sandwich. Will update if I return as I think it’s not fair to try a place only once.

I was having a great time here until my sandwich arrived and I discovered that I had paid $11 for one of the single smallest sandwiches I have ever seen. The whole place and it’s people seem great, I do recommend them, BUT few sins are as irredeemable in my book as a tiny sandwich. BEWARE.To their credit the three bites of sandwich were delicious.

Fantastic coffee shop, bakery and cafe with a name that fits their vibe. A great selection of coffee from around the world, choices of teas, lattes and assorted cafe drinks. This eclectic little gem is hidden away on a side street, but well worth the search. The atmosphere and selection of food and drinks makes this a welcome oasis from the bustle of downtown, a great study spot or a perfect place for a quiet date. I highly recommend checking out Old Soul.

Updated review for Christmas 2019. Their food has taken a huge step up in quality. The coffee is outta site. Thanks for all that you do!!!Ordered a cappuccino and omelette. The omelette and potatoes were overly salted and peppered. Would be better to lightly season and let the customer add more if necessary. Tasted not good and eyes are watering. The cappuccino was not bad but it had a sour and overly roasty flavor, not smooth. I think some people maybe big coffee connoisseurs probably like that style but I was not a big fan of it lol. Was more like a strong espresso flavor like you’d find in a cortado or macchiato. Also the setting is kind of ramshackle, pig pen setting with tables smattered around, very bright fluorescent lighting, and uncomfortable seats. Of course it’s more interesting than a Starbucks, especially with the wider menu selections. Also the exterior is appropriately old soul worthy.

Great place, wonderful options for a cafe. Being a 3rd wave roaster I was hoping for better coffee. The coffee was fair, but lacked character... bland at best, but not bad, just lifeless. No pour over option, just drip. Great hang out spot though. Theyve put a lot of time and thought into the place.

This place is kinda hide, went here while visiting some friends for Christmas. Has a really cool/nice vibe... got the “standard” under the breakfast menu (can’t remember the name, not sure), it has avocado, egg, bacon in a English muffin (but it’s not a regular one, my friend told me that they make them in-house and the bread too, not sure if that’s true or she is messing with me) really good; the sandwich is kinda small (I easily would have had two) but really good. Completely recommended. She ordered a grilled cheese sandwich which was also good! (Not as good as mine tho)

I get three jars of beans here every week and I can’t attribute a source that adds to our team’s energy more so than Old Soul Coffee. If you still drink Starbucks or Peet’s and think you’re drinking a great cup of coffee then boy do I have good news for you. Old Soul’s speciality selection of coffee is second to NONE in Sacramento and even holds its own against coffeeshops like Temple… All their locations are staffed with friendly people and they carry excellent flavors of caffeine juice and artisan food. If you don’t check them out today, you’re just saving more for me tomorrow!!

I ordered a latte and a concentrated Americano equal parts coffee & water. I got a very milky latte and an Americano with about 12 oz. of water. I then stood in a slow line again to order (and pay for) additional shots for each drink in order to make them palatable.Food wise, I ordered a vegetarian sandwich. The bread was very soft and tasty. The sandwich itself was just okay. Minimal standard ingredients: sprouts, onion, lettuce, sauce. Not very hearty in comparison to other vegetarian sandwiches Ive had. When ordering, I thought about getting a bag to go but they are all in excess of $20 per bag. Not quite ready for that cost increase.

I came here with my girlfriend to get some homework done and have a quick bite to eat and I was so pleased. The atmosphere is both classic and rustic while still maintaining a modern feel. There were plenty of couches and tables to sit at, and an overall very fun ambiance. Now lets talk about the food... 10/10! I ended up getting the TBS (Turkey Bacon Swiss) sandwich which is prepared on fresh ciabatta bread they make daily, and I am not exaggerating when I say it was the best ciabatta bread I have had in many years. I will definitely be making this a regular stop during the week and look forward to trying the other artisan crafted sandwiches they offer.I also must compliment the staff, they were all extremely helpful and courteous. 2 stars which was originally 3 stars and should really be 1 star in my opinion because somehow your business got my review removed from Yelp twice because you didnt like it or you disagree with it or you dont want to hear it. Yelp is infamous for this sort of thing which makes me question your other reviews. I have never had a business do this and think it is very unprofessional.I am leaving a similar review here because it is perfectly valid, and it is absolutely true that you have very little in the way of vegan options, and I am a plant based eater as is the majority of my family as well as many friends and we would have loved to stay and eat more at your bakery/restaurant. Your place looks like it would be very conscious when you come in and has a great vibe but has little in the way of conscious (plant based) food options. I do wish your place would offer more Vegan options and feature these healthy choices on your menu board instead of the animal meat and other sandwiches and breakfast items that are harming the planet and ultimately your patrons who may or may not care about this at all.I was at your place with my mom, sister and our kids last week, all of whom are either vegan or vegetarian and while the coffee was good and the vegan cookie rocked, the rest of the menu was mostly inedible for the adults. Two of our kids still eat eggs and one kid out of 3 eats cheese, but still there was not enough choices for us to stay and have lunch so we left and went to Crepeville which had a bit more to choose from in the way of food options. As I have said, I am happy to change my review when you guys make some menu changes or respond in a way that you have actually heard the feedback and give a damn. Follow Your Heart Cheese has amazing options for plant based cheese, and there are so many great vegan burgers and meat options and Follow Your Heart even has an amazing egg alternative. Please consider adding better options for vegans so we can come back and hang out.Instead of asking Yelp to remove my honest review why dont you just respond to it like most businesses and act like you care what patrons or in my case a new visitor thinks?!

I really enjoyed my experience at Old Soul. The coffee is high quality and the staff knows how to heat and foam milk correctly. What I really like about Old Soul are the quiche. I havent ever had a better quiche. The custard is delicate and light. The flavors are lovely. Slices are generous and paired with a green salad. Also, they always have a vegetarian quiche selection. The shop is located behind another store in a sorta alley way. Therefore, the first time stopping in for a visit may be a little confusing. I grew up in Sacramento, so live when I am able to come back and find all these new-to-me places that have popped up.First, I think the motto should be, If you can find us, you can join us because it took me a bit to find it. Of course, I was not looking for a huge AF mural painted on the side of the building pointing towards the entrance.Once I found it, I was smitten from the outset. The atmosphere felt local, young, diverse, and smelled of coffee and gentrification. Of course, I would rent a table if I lived in the area . . . cause the vibe was awesome.I just had a latte and worked a bit before heading back to SF, but the coffee was good and the wifi was strong. The service was good with an appropriate amount of judgment about why this old dad-dude was in the cool kids lair.If you are in the area, you should stop on by . . . if you can find it :-)

The coffee is great as usual but the omelet I ordered took over 20 min to come out, with a close to empty lobby When it did come out the omelet itself was warm not hot. The cheese inside was barley warm and needed to be melted much more. I was disappointed as it is a cold day and was looking forward to a hot meal. For 11.50 it was not appealing, cornerstone offers a much larger omelet for 8.50 and has more ingredients and size to there meal. Sorry old soul but today was not your day.

I really like this place for casual coffee and even lunch and came here often for morning coffee before I was teleworking and worked nearby. But my reviews of coffee shops are from a teleworker perspective, otherwise 4 stars. You can find outlets in most areas but you still need to look around. Coffee and food are very good and service is generally very good but can vary by who is there up to disinterested and unhelpful. Seating is fine but not sure how comfortable for longer sessions. Parking can be problematic at times throughout the day but typical for the area.Refreshingly, the wifi isnt an afterthought as they use serious hardware (Ruckus) with multiple APs. But unfortunately its often not working properly. For my typical review I have a surface laptop, HP windows tablet, Android and iphone. I was unable to connect with any device (of the 3 coffee shops I was at that day it was the only one with ANY failure to connect). I asked two tables next to me (with what looked like regulars) and they could not connect and made the comment that this is normal here). I asked the young lady behind the counter and she had no clue and that was that. So after high hopes of this being the near perfect teleworking coffee shop I left disappointed.
