I found this auto service establishment online and decided to go with it due to the very stellar reviews that it’s received. I was not disappointed. Doc gave me some very solid information in regards to what my car needed. This was free of charge. He is incredibly friendly and professional. I scheduled an oil change for the next day. The mechanics did an outstanding job. I will definitely be coming back here for any future maintenance and repairs that I might need

It was my first time being at this place and Steffan services went above and beyond in details. Their digital service enables me to see parts of my car I was never able to see before. The pictures and the little arrow animations were definitely helpful. They gave honest feedbacks and time frames. Will come back.

In a word.....WOW!!! Right off the bat when I walked into their shop, Doc was AMAZING! His greeting, customer service skills were all on point and made me feel very welcomed. Odd for an auto repair shop, BUT MOST APPRECIATED. I have an older car that is a 1999 model with over 278k on her. God bless her shes still going strong and needed to have some work done that I had been avoiding for probably a good 6 years. The dealership total wanted to charge me close to $7000, and well....I just morally couldnt. Id always seen this shop when they used to be on I Street, so I thought....why not?. I had emailed information to Sara and she was courteous and forward and personable in her answers. Right from the get go I knew I was in good hands.Cutting to the chase of how well the work was done? Two words; WOW & EXCEPTIONAL!!! I dropped the car off on Tuesday, and it was ready by Thursday 5:00pm. Doc had informed me with the work that was done Id notice some changes...and boy did I! ALL for the best. I actually was laughing a bit to myself because of the previous problems I was having and FELT during driving time, but chalking it up to being an older car. Well, these guys did exceptional work, at a substantially less cost. Im BEYOND happy that I took the chance, got the work done, and what I had felt during previous driving time had nothing to do with being an older car. In the future, they will have my business as well as a whole hearted recommendation.Thanks to the team of mechanics who did the work that made such a difference. This was my first experience at Made In America/Made In Japan. I quickly got a quote for repair on my 2000 tacoma (leaking valve cover gasket). Brought the truck in the same day and got it back 2 days later. Worked out for me since I wasnt able to pick it up the next day anyway. I get a call from the shop the day after I drop it off saying that they noticed the valve cover was cracked. I wasnt happy to pay for a new valve cover but Im glad they were thorough enough to catch the crack.I dont think this shop is a bargain but you know what they say: cheap work aint good and good work aint cheap. I would say the price was fair. Not a deal but not overcharged. Anyway, I trust this shop with future repairs and they are likely going to be my go to shop in Sacramento.

My favorite thing about this body shop is their transparency. They always keep me in the loop and ask for my approval before moving forward with repairs.

My experience at this shop was absolutely superb. I recently had driven from Georgia to California and needed to get my rotors resurfaced after warping. I called multiple Japanese auto shops whom all gave me a 2 week+ wait time before even looking at the car. The minute I called Made in America/Japan, they were so kind and helpful and Sarah promised to get my car sorted out right away. After bringing the car in (2013 Lexus GS350) they sent me a link with pictures and explanations of everything they found wrong with the car (ball joints worn out), explained why it happens and after giving them the go ahead, they got to work right away.After receiving my car back, I was more than happy with the work they did and was a bit stunned at how much of a difference it made while driving. The thing I like most about this shop, is their transparency and helpfulness. I definitely would recommend this shop to any other Lexus owners out there.

This shop is amazing! I live out of state but was looking to buy a used Toyota from a local Sacramento dealership. The car had a clean CarFax, over 70 service records and seemed to be in great condition for its age. I called and talked to Sarah who got a pre-purchase inspection set up for me. The report was extremely detailed and noted what need to be done immediately and what could be waited on. Sarah communicated everything in a timely manner and answered all my question about the report. They found some pretty major issues with the car that would have otherwise gone unnoticed and would have cost me thousands of dollars. Sadly the dealer didn’t see these areas as safety problems so I didn’t purchase the car. Thank you made in America/Made in Japan for being THOROUGH and HONEST!

I ended up not purchasing the vehicle and I feel the inspection cost was well worth it, potentially saving me problems in the future.

Made in America, Made in Japan did a great job looking over a van I was looking into buying. With a thorough and easy to read report, and lots of patience, skill, and friendliness in answering my extensive questions, I was given the confidence to buy the van I am now enjoying.

I needed an inspection done for a used car I was buying and had to coordinate from out of town. These guys were great! Super easy to work with, they did a very thorough job, sent me a digital copy with lots of pictures and explanations and then they talked me through everything on the phone. Very nice, knowledgeable and timely!!

I did some research on reviews of places first, and frankly, Made in America/Made in Japan had excellent reviews. I made an appointment for my 2006 Camry.To start with, the customer service was impeccable. They were very thorough in going over the entire car, sending pictures with every evaluation. They explained exactly what we were looking at and whether in their professional opinion anything had to be done. Once all the work established, they did not try to up sell anything. Some of the work could be done by my husband. There was no shame or scoff in that. I bought the car used in 2010 with a funny dead spot or lurch in the Excelerator. After years of us playing around with that issue, they fixed it! I can not recommend them enough. Doc took excellent care of us!!!

I brought my car in for a diagnostic which the lady upfront said no price. They call me 4 days later insisting it’s going to be $1200 labor to start even though they didn’t touch a single part and I would pay atleast $4500 for once again not touching a single part. Obviously I was concerned with this and when I confronted the front receptionist I got nothing but attitude. I feel used and abused as they charged me $160 for doing nothing but plugging my car in and seeing what code it gets. This place is a scam, I wish the people in the back knew how she was so it can be addressed . Not only will I never go here , but I strongly recommend nobody as well. They highball you first and treat you on your reactions. Extremely disappointed in this shop all because of the front specialist.

Lost two bolts to my skid plate, and didn’t tighten the other two, which happens sometimes. I think they could pay more attention to detail, as things like that make you question, did they tighten my transmission plug? Did they forget something on my differentials? Overall happy, with a side of disappointment. They were close to making me a customer for my next service.

I did a pre-purchase inspection for a car I was interested in purchasing (which I did end up buying). Doc was really nice on the phone, and we set up an appointment for the next morning. I was able to bring the car in early and talked to Chris on the phone and he told me I could come on in. There was a minor, very slow leak that they pointed out to me in the garage and helped me assess whether they would be concerned - the warranty would cover it, so that was good. They provided photos of the inspection so that I could have these on hand for any future fixes, and made me really confident in going forward with the car. Super friendly, good at explaining things, comfortable waiting area, and really fairly priced. I’d definitely recommend them!

Vehicle owners in general (including myself) can be a bit apprehensive when having to deal with repair shops. And rightfully so. They arent usually the most trustworthy people. However, if more shops were similar to this one, I truly believe that would not be the case. Doc Robinson is the man to see at Fulton location. Wasnt sure if last mechanics (different company)actually changed all my plugs during last tune up in 2015. Instead of not being honest and telling me I needed new plugs like Im sure most places would have, they verified that they had been changed and that they were still good. Much respect and appreciation. Very pleased with service I have received thus far (inspection and fuel system treatment) and intend on returning for timing belt and water pump replacement. So far, so good 👍👍

The staff went above and beyond to have my truck finished at the time they estimated. To me thats more important than the actual work done, since Im a plumbing contractor and my vehicle is my main transportation to and from the job and time is very important to me. Took a vehicle to Doc at the Fulton Ave location in Sacramento for a pre-purchase inspection. Despite my being a bit late for my appointment (I went to the wrong location, whoops!), Doc was very friendly and accommodating. He did an incredibly thorough work-up of the car and presented me with his findings and professional opinion on the car. My dad asked whether Doc would allow his own daughter to drive this vehicle, and his genuine answer gave us the confidence we needed to move forward with the deal. Many thanks Doc!

I am incredibly happy with the service rendered here at made in Japan made in America! They took their time to really diagnose and fix my car they were extremely honest and knowledgeable. Upon initial inspection they found signs pointing to the need of a new motor. They went over options with my husband and I and we decided to go ahead with the replacement. The next day I got a call that they brought the owner in and did some more diagnostic tests and more investigating and thought they found an explanation to what they initially found and that I would not need to replace my engine. To me this really proved I picked the right shop! We already signed papers for the replacement but they went beyond my expectations and continued to seek answers and saved me a ton of money when they didn’t need to. The friendliness, honesty, speed of service, integrity, and genuine people at made in Japan made in America is immeasurable and I would highly recommend this shop to everyone! Thank you guys again!

My Subaru Forester that has no leak, developed a small oil leak while I was visiting in the Sacramento area recently. Was able to get the car into Made in Japan pretty quickly to have it checked out, and it turned out to be a fairly big deal. They took great pictures of the whole problem having to do with the read struts, and looked the car over carefully all while I waited. It did not take very long and they provided their assessment for me and for my mechanic at home. The issue was not a safety one, so I opted to get it fixed by my usual shop at home, but would have had no concerns letting the folks at Made in Japan work on it after their great care diagnosing the problem, if it had been something that needed to be done for me to finish my trip. Great crew.

This is a great shop with an honest crew. They saved me a ton of money by being honest with me about my vehicle. However, good work does come at a price. In my personal experience I used them for a diagnosis and when they found that my repairs will be more than the worth of the car they allowed me to back out. They ended up giving me an itemized list of everything Ill need to do the repairs and thankfully it was very minimal. There advise was great and theyre great people.

Trustworthy, skilled, and reliable. I drive quite a ways out of my way to take my truck to these guys and will continue to do so. During one of my first experience with this shop, they inadvertently cracked my drivers side view mirror such that I probably wouldnt have noticed it for a while yet they immediately notified me, ordered the OEM part, and replaced the damaged mirror with a new one with no BS or excuse. In addition after a timing belt replacement the actual mechanic that did the work made a follow-up phone call to me to check if I had any issues or complaints--completely unprompted by me. Very good business and customer service and never a complaint on the work.

The guys at Made in America/Made in Japan treat us like family. We are all women, so to be able to trust our mechanics to not take advantage of our lack of automobile knowledge is a great find. We have been bringing our cars to them for years and they have been extremely helpful, to the point that they have even helped one of us buy a used car by checking the maintenance history and other reports on the cars we were looking at purchasing to tell us if we should go for it. Cant recommend them enough!

This is my 2nd experience with the Fulton Avenue location. I have to say that Doc and his team are beyond amazing. Both times I have come in, I have had nothing short of a helpful and honest experience. I am not one to take the time to usually write reviews, but this past experience definitely warranted a 5 star review. These folks are real professionals. I came in for an oil change and also had a belt making noise that I knew needed replacement. The system they have implemented which shows a step by step photo walk-through of their inspection process is great. They did the service requested and gave me a great breakdown of the health of the car and what maintenance should be the horizon. These will be the go to guys for my car.

Ive been using this shop for almost as long as Ive been driving. Im glad I discovered this place early on! The staff is well trained and personable and they speak to you like people instead of throwing mechanic jargon at you. The service is great and its never more than you need or ask for. A word of advice would be to consider them for more than just your emergency repairs... go to them for your routine maintenance as well to ensure those emergency repairs dont sneak up on you! Id comfortably recommend this place to anyone driving American/Japanese model vehicle.

Total rip offs. I remember when made in Japan off of Howe Avenue was actually pretty decent. But for some reason after a few years they decided to hike up the prices and hire a bunch of morons at the front desk with zero customer service. I was quoted for a job by them which was actually more expensive than the Nissan dealership would have charged and the guy had attitude for days and I had to hang up on them because I dont appreciate being talked to that way so no business for them for me

Weve taken 2 vehicles over here for their pre-vehicle inspection service, and it was totally worth it!!! They are extremely thorough and honest. The service report was easy to understand and was available right away. Even the staff not listed as being involved with the inspection knew the details of the vehicles when I called afterwards.

Absolutely a great service shop! I recently took two vehicles in (at separate times) to get a pre-purchase inspection done. They picked both of them apart and found every little thing that the dealers didnt point out. Victor on the front desk is really nice, respectful, knowledgeable, and straight forward. They are very upfront with you. I will most certainly be taking my newly purchased vehicle (the second one they looked at) there for anything in the future!!!

I had a pre purchase inspection done on a car from a nearby used car lot. Although I didn’t end up purchasing it, the $130 inspection was worth it. Probably saved me higher future out of pocket costs (no warranty coverage) and headache and hassle of needing my car repaired.I especially appreciated the photos of the fluid test results and discrepancies. Their reports are digital, so it makes for easy and quick reference if you take it to another shop.Chris was very professional and courteous over the phone and in person. I didn’t feel like I was being spoken down to or that he was being dishonest. Very transparent business ethics and practices.Best of all, VERY CLEAN bathroom. That alone says a lot about a business.
