The options for gifting are endless. They even design customized and personalized gift baskets. Such a perfect little shop. Everyone is super friendly and helpful.

Great collection of Michigan souvenirs. Most of them are their special craft. Price is expensive. No parking ( actually paid parking near store). Return policy is very bad. No return. So before you purchase check your items. Stuffs are friendly.

I ordered several ornaments online and they never arrived at their destination. I spent several months trying to get this fixed via emails and phone calls but never got any kind of response. The in store shopping is excellent however.

I had to make sure to come on here to leave a review after all of the help and above and beyond Colleen did to take care of a broken package. I reached out when the shipping provider damaged a gift basket we ordered. I was instructed to fill out a form for a UPS claim.With her help we were able to get the refund promptly, and she reshipped the entire order the next day. While we visited to shop to purchase the gift basket, we could see just how busy this small shop was with seemingly only one employee. In conversation she let us know she had 800 open gift baskets orders she was currently building, and all on her own, just a couple weeks before Christmas. To see that kind of dedication is incredible. It is clear that Colleen truly believes in helping small business and putting a personal touch on the orders she receives.I will absolutely be back and recommend Made in the Mitten to everyone for shopping small.

Great customer service. Placed an order online for some gifts. Received a message saying one item was out of stock, but was quickly offered the choice to make an exchange or get a refund. Before I even had a chance to go in and choose something else, I got a message from the owner saying she found more fabric and was able to complete my original order. That was a pleasant surprise. When I went to pick up my order, I found more things I liked and made another purchase. Thanks for the great service!

This place is amazing. Due to COVID, I wasn’t going to visit my grandparents for the holidays this year and I wanted to buy local. I purchased 3 build-your-own baskets online and arranged to pick them up in store. When I got home after picking them up, I noticed 2 of the items were incorrect so I called the store. The owner had her husband drive to my house to exchange the items that day! Not only was everything exactly what I wanted but the customer service was amazing. So glad I shopped at a local small business!

I moved to Texas from Michigan almost a decade ago...but whenever we come up to visit family, we have to swing through here. Awesome local art and wares. The owner is super cool. I just wish there were more than 5 stars to offer.

I try to support local businesses- I stopped in for the first time this week to check out the store and pick up some Michigan made snacks for an upcoming road trip. My husband loved the toffee I picked uo- it didnt make it to the trip. There are a variety of Michigan artists to support in the store giving a great selection for gifts. I will be back.

This store is a great mix of Michigan made items- foods, drinks, art, home goods, clothing- so fun to browse and shop! Parking was a breeze and prices were reasonable- I got gifts for every age group in my family. The owner spent a lot of time with me- she is both thoughtful and kind.

Prepaid and was given wrong size and colors for a Christmas baby gift when I went to pick up my items which took longer than the estimated timeframe provided. I am grateful I LOOKED in my bag before leaving the store because the ONLY thing the owner mentioned is that the shade of pink was a little different. Turned out that it also had the wrong sleeve length and was the incorrect size BY 6 MONTHS (which I thought it looked large and when I questioned it she dismissed me with a line about different brands running larger or smaller). Funny thing is, it was the SAME brand as the other onsie, and when I told her that it was a size 12mth instead of 6mth- she asked me if I wanted it anyway and it is what it is as their stock is limited. The other onsie was grey instead of the cute mint color I ordered too. She was totally INDIFFERENT to the fact that I had paid ahead of time and was never notified that they did not have the actual items in stock and instead made me wait weeks for items I could not use and therefore was unable to provide a timely Christmas gift. She acted annoyed that I was even questioning the size differences. My husband can attest that the customer service was horrible. I dont really write reviews, but I still cant believe the experience I had- and that when I asked for a proof of refund, I was told she was too busy to do it right then and that I could find it later in my email. Zero consideration for their errors and lack of communication. So much for trying to support local, I ended up ordering off etsy and received my items correct and in a reasonable time. I would not recommend this business if you are ordering online or value your time.

A great place to find gifts for out of towners, mitten ex-pats, and those still living in and loving Michigan. Colleen is as passionate about her community as she is about her business and the other artists whose work you can find there. She can help you find a gift for anyone on your list! If you’re not able to come into the store their online shop is really easy to navigate and the customer service has the same personal touch online as it does in the store.

I ordered items in December to be sent to Alaska. Was later charged an additional $10 and the items were not sent without the $10. I have since paid the $10 and still the items were not sent and I cannot get the customer service to respond to my request to check on the status. I have been forced to dispute the charge on my credit card because of their lack of customer service.

I love this store and all of the Michigan made items it sells! The owner is truly lovely and is also such a caring and compassionate member of the community! Were so lucky to have this wonderful business in Royal Oak!

During this difficult time, one of the things Ive been doing is jigsaw puzzles. Made in the Mitten has a great assortment of Michigan puzzles. I ordered from them 2 different times - two different puzzles - and received a timely home delivery each time. Looking to order some other things from them real soon.

We recently moved to Michigan and wanted to see what things we could do in the area. We have 3 children under 10 and wanted to find kids activities. Some friends of ours recommended Made In The Mitten for some souvenirs to send to family back home.The owner (Colleen) was so kind, and went above and beyond to welcome us to the area, suggest things to do in and around Oakland county, and suggested great gifts for the type of people we were looking for. We even found some nice gifts for my husbands boss. She had her daughter with her, and even brought out toys for all of the kids to play with while we shopped.We enjoyed a free cup of coffee, which we wound up purchasing a bag of because it was delicious. Since visiting we have gone back 3 times and every time the items are different and the artists rotate. We are excited to attend the made in the mitten holiday market in November and will be a loyal customer as long as we live in Michigan.

Website has great items and I was very excited to place an order for MI items for a Bridal shower. Unfortunately I placed my order over a week ago and have yet received any confirmation on the order being shipped. I have sent 4 emails and have yet to received any acknowledgment and calling the store is a joke when no one answers or allows you to ;leave a message.

Other than being one of the more selfless business owners in downtown Royal Oak, Colleen keeps a store with items you can find for ANYONE that you can’t get anywhere else, and with great deals and very accommodating customer service. I’ve shopped there many times for loved ones and myself, and have always been happy with the products and gifts I leave with every time.

I’m not sure how you did not notice that I left and did not return but yes I will elaborate. I understand not advertising a public restroom. However being sent next door to an establishment that has a sign explaining the restroom is for customers only was frustrating. Then I come back and instead of being a kind human and letting my child use your facility (I’m guessing you don’t walk next door for a restroom), you send me across the street to a church. I then decided to have lunch at the taproom so my son could use the restroom while my aunt who was in town from Texas could finish shopping (she kindly assumed you must be having a bad day). My sister as well as my mom and myself had planned on making purchases. Especially since the last attempt we made at visiting your store was a fail due to the handwritten sign on the door that you were ‘out’. Kudos to you for being a super prepared mom! This experience definitely makes me appreciate the kind store owners who have not thought twice if my child has had a bathroom emergency. I definitely will not be returning and I hope that when your child gets older you encounter much more understanding establishments.

The owner is terrible at communication and offers services she has no intention of delivering. I ordered 2 items with free delivery offered by the owner- if address is in the same city her shop is located in. Waited 3 days with NO communication as to delivery day. Messaged her, no reply for 2 days, emailed and messaged again. FINALLY on 5th day, she messages me and tells me I have to pick it up from her store during a three-hour window on one particular day. Makes an excuse saying she cant drive to deliver to me. Never apologized!! I called and asked for a refund. I was trying to support a small business, will never shop there again.

I wanted to shop at local merchants in Royal Oak. I like doing business with small shops,and it is all Michigan made.I stopped in a bought some items,but when i got home,i checked my receipt and was charged more than what the price tag said. I also checked the expiration date on the bloody mary seasoning,it expired July of 2020,i was there in September of 2021! Please have staff check dates please.Just a good business practice.
