I drove all from Atlanta and purchased an English Bull Dog Puppy from them yesterday, and it was a great experience! Corey was an amazing help and everyone there made sure to answer whatever questions I had about Ozzy! Thank you for the great customer service and for making this stress free and easy!

I was skeptical about buying from petland at first since I’ve heard a lot of controversial things about their puppies. but I bought a Pac-Man frog today from here and I am very pleased with this little guy. The girl who sold him to me was very helpful and nice. She seemed knowledgeable of the animals. And as someone who has done a lot of research on animal care, a lot of the animals here seemed to be well taken care of, better than a lot of pet stores I’ve been to. As for my Pac-Man frog he’s very active and has settled in great. He’s already started eating within an hour of being introduced to his enclosure💕

We had an Excellent experience with Josh. He was very patient and informative about the kittens. He was professional as well as knowledgeable. Thank you for your help every time I visited to find the perfect cat.

There were very cute puppies and bunnies there. As expected from a pet store. I have been going here for a very long time to buy crickets for my brothers bearded dragon. The staff here is always working their hardest to ensure that you have the best experience possible. I highly recommend this store for all your pets needs.

Go to DALTON LOCATION. This location has the potential to be great, but is just terrible. Grace is supposedly a manager but is about as useful as talking to a brick wall. Weve gone in 3-4 times in the past couple of weeks to buy our current Petland dogs supplies and also hoping to buy a puppy and she was unfortunately there every visit. Her attitude is terrible, she just stands there staring off into space as if shed rather be doing anything else and she talks to the animals like theyre an inconvenience to her rather than her actual job. Today was the last time we try to spend thousands of dollars at this location. We couldnt buy a dog that was still available and on display because someone else had an appointment later in the day. Since when is it not first come first serve without a deposit? With the Dalton location being basically right down the road and Kennesaw not much further, theres no reason for us to ever visit Rome again. Dalton is where we got our Bernese Mountain Dog and they were absolutely wonderful and attentive in comparison. They also always have the vitamins and supplies we need, where as Rome was almost empty when we tried to buy our three months worth in May.

We had such a great experience at Petland in Rome!! Morgan was so helpful and she made me feel comfortable asking all of my pet questions. We are so happy to have our new puppy home with us :)

We came in with the intention to buy a dog until we were told that this mixed puppy was almost $5,000. After we decided to not spend $5,000 on a mixed dog, one of the workers kept eyeballing us and listening to the conversation my family and I were having about not spending that on a mixed dog and we had mentioned in our conversation that we wished we knew an actual breeder who had this type of mixed dog. After a few minutes of us speaking amongst ourselves, she blurts out rudely from the back of the store telling us that she can’t tell us where he came from, but said the dog came from the Amish... hmmm, I’ve heard Amish are known for their puppy mills. Nice to know that’s where they get their puppies from. I’ll be shopping elsewhere.UPDATE!! Found a breeder who breeds the dog we came in to look at and we paid like 10 times less with everything included, except for the cage and toys but I did buy the same cage for $25 from another store!Do your research before paying their crazy unreasonable prices. You can get these same dogs elsewhere for thousands less.

We went in looking for my grandson a fish. We got one after asking several employees to help us. Everyone seemed to be busy bt nt busy if u know wht I mean.

Picked up two angelfish on Saturday, doing great. The new lady has really made the tanks look great, added much needed color. The new beta display is amazing. Definitely a needed change.

Petland has a lil bit of everything for my sons bearded dragon, even live mill worms.

If you are looking for a job this is not the place to go. They go through people faster than I can change clothes. I worked for Petland for a few months. Everyone there seems nice at first until you get to know them. After a while you began to see their true colors. Petland is a commission based company. Employees here will do anything to make commission. Even if that means selling animals they know are not well enough to be sold or even stealing sells from other employees. If you don’t make commission for 3 weeks they will fire you. It is one of the most stressful feelings. The only people who can make it here are sharks with no hearts And from what I hear from current employees they like to do drugs in the bathroom and eat edibles on the clock. This is by far the most toxic company I have ever worked for.

The staff play as a nice people but are really mean. I have personally caught them talking bad about other customers. The GM is even worse, she is very snappy and acts as if she is better than other people. I would rather go to Pet Sense than to go here.

Katie was a big help, the other associate was a little pushy but we fell in love with an overpriced 11 week old Cavachon 😅❤️. Unfortunately our puppy ended up having kennel cough and had to have two rounds of antibiotics which the store provides a warranty to reimburse you for the vet expenses. However, the claims department took over two months just to “process my claim” and the check they sent back was $100 short of what I paid. I sent an email out of curiosity asking what was the reason for the shortage and got no response. Great Puppy, not great health, nor a good claims department.

They are really nice here and will let you play with the dogs in cool booths. My son loved it. They are always out of live feeder pinkies though which is the only big downfall here i have noticed and the cost of frozen ones keep going up.

The staff is patient with the kiddos that want to pet all the animals. The store was clean and smelled ok. They have a great selection. I removed one star because we should all adopt from shelters.

This place has really gone down hill. I can never find any employees to help and the fish tanks were full of dead fish so they just cut out all the tank lights so nobody would notice.

The two ladies that helped me were very professional and polite. Also, the lady that started out helping me made sure she was giving me the correct answer, and when she didnt know she made sure to get someone who did know. Now I wish I would have gotten their names.

The girls there were awesome, very warming environment and knowledgeable. Had a great overall experience all animals seemed to be cared for and very clean area aswell as staff!

UPDATE: I got genetic testing done (two separate companies) on my puppy bought here and he’s only 50% pure. There ought to be laws against the store. Their animals are far overpriced the supplies they have inside the store are far overpriced its just amazes me how many people still fall for their tactics and theyre poor employees theyre not even paid an hourly rage they are only paid a commission oh wait theyre giving a choice on which one they want because they cant have both the owner wants to pocket the rest

Dead fish and frogs like crazy. My 7 year old wanted an African dwarf frog. I called, they said yes, they had; we got there, the ONE FROG THEY HAD WAS DEAD.

Awful experience! I own a 3 yr old ferret and went to try and get a friend for her. The girls in the store were rude and clearly didn’t care about the animals. The animals all looked sickly. They turned me down without even talking to me at all. I had a paper shoved in my face and after I had filled it out they came back 5 mins later to tell me that i wasn’t approved. They took no time to get any background information about me. If they had then they would have found out that I have one ferret who is very healthy and very well loved. This store is completely awful.

Always love going to Petland Rome. Such smiling, friendly and helpful people. Kim is always ready to answer any questions I have and makes sure I get everything I need for my fur child. Keep up the good work!

Updating my review since we finally heard back from the claims department. I want to say that the workers at Petland are very knowledgeable and friendly. However, I would still caution others on a puppy purchase due to the fact that the Yorkie we got did have kennel cough and had to have 2 rounds of antibiotics before he got better. Petland does cover the vet bills for that, but when you spend thousands on a puppy, you dont want them to be sick right out of the gate.

Not very helpful.. A young lady that worked there just stood in one spot like a statue and just looked at me. I was looking for some turtle food and she had the expression as if she didnt know what that was!!🤔

I’m only giving this 2 stars instead of 1 because the young man that helped me was nice. I have never ever written a review, but after my experience I Feel like I can’t hold it back. I called before going and asked if they had any bunnies. They said yes. I asked what breed they were and if they were spayed/neutered. THEY DIDNT KNOW THE BREED, and they didn’t know if they were 100% spayed or neutered. After putting me on hold (which I don’t mind) they told me they weren’t spayed or neutered. Just me, I would’ve thought a pet store only had spayed or neutered mammals since there is a population problem. But anyways, I then arrived and asked about the bunny I was interested in (a cute little holland lop). I asked about the age, they didn’t know. I asked if the bunny in the same enclosure was it’s bonded pair, they didn’t know. THAT IS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KNOW. They told me that they didn’t think so and that all they know is that the bunnies arrived at the same Time. They didn’t tell me what they ate, and while I was talking, one of the associates just randomly walked away. Maybe because they were too busy taking pictures in their Halloween costumes. I asked if they had a bunny policy, kinda like with their puppies, and all they told me was that I can return it for up to 48 hours after purchase. When grabbed to put in the box (which they have super small boxes), it was not handled correctly. Their cash register was messed up, they were all just hanging around chit chatting and having a good time, All in all, the experience left me sad, frustrated, and pretty upset. I know they were all mostly teenagers, but I expected much more in customer service quality and animal care/experience/knowledge. Tbh, if they did give me animal care advice, I wouldn’t take it. Do your research on an animal before purchasing, especially from this place. I ended up purchasing the bunny to relieve from that place and give it the proper care with a free roam indoor home.

Anyways, I don’t know what Grace’s problem was on April 1, 2021🙄 At first she seemed to be helpful cause my bf was asking about things for our puppy, then all of a sudden she seemed agitated 🤷🏾‍♀️ Idk what that was about, but we proceeded to look at the fish and in the back it had this buy 2 get 1 free for live bearers, she came and snatched the sign right in front of us! Now, I understand that the dates did differ but she really didn’t have to do that. I felt that was very unprofessional. I may even call corporate because these Petland employees getting besides themselves 😒

Bought the sweetest schnauzer from here about 4 months ago. Upon his first vet visit he had fleas and parasites in his feces. I Called Petland to inform them and maybe get some free flea medication, considering I paid $3,500 for this dog. Petland told me this was my fault and he was perfectly fine when we bought him. I have 2 other dogs and neither have parasites or fleas. Decided to put this on their Facebook page and they deleted my comment and blocked me. They know they lie about the conditions of their dogs. Sick people.

The staff was so inexperienced. The also talk so badly about customers when they think no one can hear them. Absolutely horrible behavior.

I buy my ferret food here. Its the only place in Rome that sells it, and my boys are picky. Over the years Ive bought several rats for pets, and fish. All of them lived long happy lives. Service is always great and the associates are always polite and knowledgeable!

They did not have alot of fish to choose from.

Staff was very nice and friendly. We did notice several bags of treats that were set to expire within the same month and some that were already expired. If youre like me when youre in a hurry, you grab and go and forget to check dates, as you think the store stays on top of it. ⚠️ Warning: Make that a priority and responsibility to check dates for your pets so that you dont regret it later. We purchased very old dog food by mistake from a convenient store while on vacation some years ago and our dog got very sick, our trip was cut short and he remained inpatient at the vet for days. Luckily, he recovered. It was an expensive ordeal to say the least.

They dont have much of an accessories selection for dogs, aside from food. I spent seventy bucks on two water bowls and a medicore dog bed. I made the mistake of sending pictures of a pug puppy to my parents before I asked about price. They wanted six thousand dollars for a pug. The lady gave me a whole spiel about insurances, cherry picking, and registries. As much trouble as Im sure they went through, ACA isnt that high a calibre. I dont think one should try to sell high end show dogs alongside mice and birds. Youd be better off using that money to get a used car and a pound puppy.

Was sold dead snails for my aquarium. I honestly dont think it was intentional. Wouldve been a 5 star rating if it werent for that. Very caring & knowledgeable staff.

I have bought several fish, snails, and frogs and they all have died. I recently bought a baby chameleon at the beginning of the month and he hasn’t eaten since and isn’t doing good at all. when i called, i asked to speak with a manager and when i got her on the phone she handed the phone to another employee. another time i called, i was put on hold for 30 minutes and had to hang up because nobody came to the phone. i believe petland sells sick animals and i would not recommend buying anything other than food or supplies. not animals. the customer service isn’t the best and the managers could care less.

Everyone at Petland is awesome. They are always so helpful and full of knowledge. We always shop here and we feel like family.
