My husband and I fished with Mike last spring and had a wonderful experience. I was a bit timid about hiring a Guide as I never had done that before but I wanted to surprise my husband for our anniversary trip to the Beaver Lake area. Mike is one of the kindest people I have ever done business with. He was very considerate and patient with a first timer and we caught some huge fish! I have fished with Bailey for several years because he honestly cares about his clients and works hard to do his best to ensure they have a great time. You will not find a harder working or more caring guide on this Lake. His volunteer work with the HOFNOD(hooked on fishing not drugs) alone tells you what a caring individual he is. After trying others in years past I will only go with ole Bailey and his crew.

Hired Bailey over the summer for 2 boats loads of my family after hiring guides previously on Beaver. Bailey himself was one of our Guides and we had this best time ever! Wish we would have gone with him long ago. We will only go with him or his team from now on!

They should really call it catching with these guys! Got our limit for 3 and a big fish of 31lbs! We will definitely be back!

Mike was out injured and we got Jason as our guide. Poor guy was running hard doing 2 a day trips and still was as motivated as can be. NEVER stopped trying to get us fish. Mike shuffled things around and kept our 3 days seamless through it all. Caught 7 nice fish, got to know Jason and the lake. Very enjoyable, professional experience, they know what theyre doing. Not amateur hour with Jason, good personality too.

We had a horrible experience with this company. The owner was rude from the start. You can tell when somebody has been doing this too long and this is the case. You could tell our guide didn’t want to be there. He could of cared less if we caught fish. When the fish were not biting he didnt try anything different and left the same dead shiners on the lines for hours. He also drove the boat dangerously and we literally had to hang on for our lives. It was a bad experience from the first text message and I wish we had chosen another provider. I have hired at least a dozen guide services and all were very good except this one.

Went out with Mike this morning and had a great time. We were on fish all morning. Looking forward to the next trip with Mike. Extremely knowledgeable and great customer service, Mike was very patient while we figured out striped bass fishing.

Disappointed in my time with Mike Bailey as our guide.. He answered very few of our questions, and even got snippy with us when we did ask questions. Mentioned he was ready to retire, which I think he’s already checked out mentally. You could tell he didn’t really care if we caught a fish or not. Had 3 in our party and only caught 1 small fish in 5 hours. I’d recommend a clause if you don’t catch a fish you don’t have to pay, just a thought. We spent $400 for 1 fish 😱 Unfortunately I would not recommend based off of my experience.

Beaver Safari was great! We had a group of 5, and caught 6 stripped bass total with 1 being the “smallest this year” and the other weighing in at 28.5lb! Four out of the five of us caught a fish that was a personal record for size. Overall, we all had a great time and really enjoyed our guide, Mike Bailey. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to fish Beaver Lake! PS- Thanks Bailey!

Lance was our guide and did a fantastic job for us. My wife and I had our two boys with us, 12 and 15. We arrived early for our 4 am departure and Lance was ready to go. He helped us board his boat and made sure we were ready for higher speeds once we were safely away from the dock. The boat had plenty of space and was comfortable and sooo smooth on the water, even at speed. Lance was very informative about the process. He demonstrated how to take the rods from the holders, where to hold the rod, etc. We had at least 9 rods in the water at any given moment. I was thoroughly impressed with Lances knowledge of striper, why they would be at the dam, why the bait fish was attracted to the area, and what to expect when one was on. In addition to dropping lines, he showed my boys how to fish the surface. We didnt have any luck at the dam, so we eventually headed to a cove where Lance said he had luck earlier in the week. At that location we were trolling for fish. Again, Lance was great and interacted with us throughout the trip. This wasnt my first charter. So I know that there is never a guarantee to catch fish. If you are told differently by a guide, they are flat out lying. And if you think you should only pay if you catch a fish, dont bother chartering. These guys work just as hard, for just as long, and for the same expenses whether you catch fish or not. I was starting to wonder if my boys were going to get to brag to their friends when we got our first fish. My oldest reeled it in with constant coaching from Lance. Great fish and a personal record for him. And just as soon as that fish was brought into the boat, my younger son got his fish and it was even bigger. These were the only two stripers we caught, but I categorically define it as a successful trip. Both my boys landed huge fish! I highly recommend Baileys Guide Service. And if you dont actually get Mike Bailey as your guide, you cant go wrong with Lance!

We booked a trip with Bailey’s for an all day trip. On 12 March,2021. The guide stated to us “I DON’ CARE IF WE CATCH ANY FISH TODAY”!....WOW, ai never heard a fishing or hunting guide say such nonsense. I’ve never fished with Bailey’s Guide Service so I don’t know how their other trips are like but from the guides attitude, it seemed like he was only on the water that day to draw a paycheck. Every turn the guide exclaimed “WE CAUGHT A NICE ONE HERE YESTERDAY”. I realize fishing can change from one day to the next and even hour to hour. The old saying “the worst day fishing is better than the best day at work” was questionable that day. Maybe the guide was just on a bad day but he shouldn’t have let his personal life spill into his professional life. I don’t know how striper fishing is normally done on Beaver Lake but trolling for 6 solid hours with minnows was not working and the guide don’t change his tactics. When we did catch sandbags (white bass) surfacing and asked the guide if we could throw a plastic bait, the guide said “YOU LOOSE MY POLE, YOU PAY ME $$350. you got to be kidding me, the rod and reel combo was at most a $79 Bass Pro Shop special.....my name is david wayne howard and our trip was Friday morning, 12 March, 2021......

1st time trip. its a doozy.My wife and I are older, not quite to the geriatric stage but we dont get around as good as we used to. my wife especially, has mobility issues and she is plus sized. I made it very clear, in advance (a week) that she would require a little more time.The evening before the trip I finally got a text with the trip details. The time was 0400 Saturday morning. No problem, we were staying in Eureka Springs about 10 miles away. We got up and drove to the Dam Site ramp and in the pitch black night, zero moon and partly cloudy we prepared for the Stripper fishing adventure we had always wanted to do. We got married in Eureka 18 years ago and were on an anniversary trip.Heres where it gets interesting. I let my wife out and parked. I walked down to the ramp and in the darkness except for a solitary marker light on the boat I could kinda feel the vibe that we were in a hurry so we figured out how to get my wife into the boat. Next I stepped on board and tried to get my vision adjusted to the pitch black.Our guide Mike indicated where I was to sit in the back of the boat , which is a nice long deck boat with a Honda motor that could power a small aircraft carrier.Did I mention that it was dark? I maneuvered to the seat and began to turn around and was stooping to lower myself to the seat. At that particular moment Captain Mike chose to kick the running motor into gear and goose the throttle. I am sure it was not on purpose. I kind of lost balance at that point and slammed into the back of the boat where luckily, some poles were standing, otherwise I am pretty sure I would have gone out the back. I slammed into whatever was there in that black night. My hip and upper leg took the brunt. It hurt pretty bad. I sat there for a moment trying to decide if it anything was broken. Captain Mike seemed a little put out. After I got up and seated he picked up the poles I crashed in to, specifically showing me the broken one that my hip and leg had broken. He actually slammed it to the deck like I had any control over any of it. The rest of the trip wasnt really memorable save for the burning pain in my hip where I have a knot and 2 big scratches, luckily no hook in me. I discovered that I had torn my favorite shorts where it scrapped me. I did real in 1 baby fish as Captain Mike put it. It was only 14 pounds and he made sure to minimize the event. He also told me I didnt listen very well because I didnt use the pole in the manner he instructed, once. Which could be why I have hearing aids? Captain Mike did become a bit more friendly and at ease towards the end but I would never have treated anyone like he did. I apologized as much as I could for putting him out and that was that. I dont know what I was expecting but I am certain that wasnt it.We asked if we could go back 2 hours early. My wife pointed out afterwards that ol Captain Mike never apologized once. He just shrugged it off like normal wear and tear.I am almost 60, a veteran and I simply took a trip described as great. I told them ahead of time our issues and frankly if old Captain Mike were my employee and not his own boss. I would make him walk the plank.I got injured and treated like unwanted baggage on a 360 dollar trip. I personally dont recommend it for the novice or not as limber person. Neither my wife or I would want to go again.

Guide was nice. Didn’t catch a striper though. Seems like a lot of money for not a one striper. Would have been nice to get some repetitions for no stripers. Catch some small mouth bass, but could have done that for free at home.

It all sounds good in the web site but I do not recommend them at all. After catching one fish they quoted “well, I’m done with my quota in having everyone catch 1 fish”. The guide even mentioned that there friends rate them to help the business. This was definitely not worth the money. I have a lot of fishing friends and this word will spread, for fishing guide.

My husband has been using Bailey’s for the past four years and has always raved about it. This year I got to tag along and I am SO glad I did! Mike was very courteous and professional. He guided me through the entire process of reeling in a 32lb striper!!!!

We fished with Mike and he did an excellent job. Weather for the day had the fish not wanting to cooperate but Mike kept us on the fish with extra effort and we finally connected on a trophy for my grandfather which made for a lifetime memory. Mike was very friendly and social and we will definitely ask for him again.

Terrible guide took a five minute boat ride we could see the boat ramp stayed in the same cove 4 hrs didnt get a bite ask to move to a different location he said if they not biting here they wasnt biting anywhere else I do not recommend these guys at all said it wasnt about catching fish it was the bonding alot of money just for bonding just saying make sure and do your research not a good guide service

We took a guided trip with Jason today and it was the best fishing trip by far! Jason was super friendly and just a genuine person in general. It was a cool 44 degrees and Jason pulled out all of the stops! We didnt have to leave the marina to catch a striper.I would recommend this guide service! Ask for JASON!!!

Tried to go out with Mike Bailey three times. First two times he gave us a second rate guide because he was in jail! Found this out after we booked. Third time I was going out with Mike only to find out the morning of at the dock we were getting a new guide with only a few months of fishing experience. Worthless. I talked to Mike the evening before and he said we were good to go. Mike told us during the trip he fell the night before and couldn’t fish. A call to reschedule would have been nice. Drove all the way from KC.

Mike is the most experienced Striper fishing guide Ive ever been with. I had the best time with Mike and we limited out within an hour! Cant wait to go again!! Highly recommend Mike to anyone and all who want the greatest fishing trip of a lifetime!

Almost first things you here when you get on the boat is that the “flip” has occurred and the fishing has been poor. Then spend 4 hours trolling the same area with too much boat traffic. Never even tried more than one area. Caught one small mouth bass. Expectations were set low maybe appropriately maybe not. Just seems like should have given us the option to cancel and effort seemed poor. Just wasn’t impressed. shouldn’t given the tip I left 😂

I have known MIKE BAILEY for over 25 years. He is one of the most outstanding caring individuals I have ever known. Not to mention one heck of a fisherman.I was a former counselor for the Springdale Arkansas school system. During the 36 years I worked for them I was credited for beginning the nationwide and even international hooked on fishing not on drugs program designed to give kids an activity to help keep them out of trouble and give them for an outlet for their travels.This program brought me a considerable amount of the claim and notoriety.Former governor Mike Beebe appointed me to the Arkansas game and Fish commission of which I became the longest serving chairman in its 100 year history.During the school year a HOFNOD club at my school did monthly outdoor activities some of which were naturally fishing. Easily the most effective activities spurring lifelong interest in fishing was the annual Striper fishing trip, this began in 1989 and continued even after my retirement in 2010 I believe the final year for it was 2012 when the school lost funding for the program.The first year we had a striper fishing trip 19 kids got to go with volunteers. This number stayed pretty much the same throughout the 90s at one time growing up to 50 or 60 kids you got to participate with the volunteers.I had to invent a pretty difficult vetting system as the membership in my school club always numbered in the hundreds. This one trip was often credited by former club members, students, as the one thing that turned their life around, kept them out of serious drug use and trouble and inspired their academic success. This has been documented by several publications with direct quotes from these individuals! How does Mike fit into all of this?During the 90s Mike became a regular volunteer and helping the kids by the year 2000 he called me and volunteered to organize the event this was extremely time consuming often frustrating hair pulling and stressful thing to do! Mike took the trip to a level I could not believe the first year he organize the event he managed to take over 150 kids striper fishing with volunteers and feed all of them lunch. It was a phenomenal event all thanks to him I am confident many many young men and womens lives were affected or totally turned around due to his volunteer efforts. Mike Bailey never asked for credit or a claim though he definitely deserves a GREAT deal!Mike Bailey can be credited with having a life-changing positive affect on the lives of hundreds of kids during the years he volunteered and organized quite likely the most impressive life affecting fishing trips in the entire world in support of HOFNOD. Regretfully, this was the worst guide service I have ever used, and I’ve used quite a few. All was great during the sales pitch, phone call and all, then...1st, zero contact after I sent the deposit.,2nd, after driving from Fort Worth, no answer to calls, and had to text the night before the afternoon trip to find out where to go and when,3rd, I arrive at the location and find out I do not have Mike, but someone else (fine if you know, bad if you don’t),4th, the guide took me a short distance from the dock, then trolled around for hours with no fish sighted on the electronics.I am not a complete rookie, and I know that you can’t catch fish all the time, but you definitely cannot catch them where they aren’t, and this guide had no clue.The weather was perfect, and it is really disappointing that minimal effort was made to try to find fish.Unfortunately, I learned all too much about the guides personal life and exploits, but nothing but excuses regarding finding fish.An apology from the guide, refusal of the customary tip, or contact from the Service regarding the unsuccessful trip would have been nice. But none of those were forthcoming.Spend your money on a different guide.

Guide we had was nice and seemed like a good guy but was his first week and wasnt very knowledgeable mike seemed to know what he was doing and got some nice fish in another boat which we did not got one bite that lasted a second and gone went home with nothing to show except 5 hours gone and 400 dollars less probably wasnt the best day since it was raining but would have been nice to have a more experienced guide

Me and my son booked a 5 hour trip with Mike. We limited out in a couple hours. I would highly recommend. We will be back.

5 hour fishing trip, two bites and one small striper. $450 dollar trip and while Mike seemed knowledgeable we couldnt find the fish. I understand fishing can be unpredictable but when you hire a guide you expect them to at least know where the fish are.

We went out with Mike. He did not answer take any questions about we had. I was just curious because we had never striper fished. How deep we were fishing or what kind of cover we were fishing. He would yell face the back! It was really awkward because we were just curious and he just said Ill tell you when we have a fish on....so was pretty boring because we caught 0 fish. Also frustrating to see that he cut other people a break on the $450 fee and not us. He even mentioned at the end that it was a really rough day and and the temperate drop hurt us alot. He obviously knew that going in but was ok with taking almost $500 dollars from us and admitting that after...I just landed a job and have to take 10-20 clients fishing yearly...We wont be back buyer beware I dont think alot of these posts are from actual clients.

Mike was a great guide!!!! The weather wasn’t great but we still managed to get a few striped bass in the boat. My 8 year old son thoroughly enjoyed his striped bass fishing trip birthday present. We will definitely book with Mike for our future striped bass fishing trips.

Fished with Kevin 2 days in a row. First day Kevin put me right on fish...caught 2 right off the bat. Then we got on more fish and poles started going down. It was intense missed 2 small bites then didnt set the hook good and lost 3 fish. Then got into a bigger school. Caught my 3rd fish to limit and poles kept going down to give Kevin 2 of his own. 2nd day had 3 good bites and caught my limit fast. Back in car with fished cleaned at 7am. Had fun and destroyed the strippers...should of had more people with me!!! Very professional service!!!

I fished with Corey, one of Mikes guides and when I complained about not catching anything and Corey not seeming to be very knowledgeable and also not being told at the time of booking that I wouldnt be fishing with him he said if I booked again with him that I would definitely fish with him on my next trip. Today I was googling his name to get his number to book a trip this summer when we come back on our vacation Michael Wayne Bailey a fishing guide in Arkansas popped up to pleading guilty to social security fraud for embezzling more than 120,000 dollars. This is very sad and just horrible. I have a friend that has tried really hard to get his disabilitys started and he cant work he is not just playing hurt. This person should be ashamed. I hope they throw the book at him. I have to much respect for myself to ever fish with him. My review is late but very accurate.

I took my 15 year old son for our first time striper fishing. Beaver safari guide service was a great decision to use. Our guide Kevin had us in the fish and we caught our limit in an hour and a half. He cleaned our catch and was very helpful. We will be back again.

My dad loves to fish. For his 70th birthday I took him to Beaver Lake in Arkansas. We were given Mike Bailey’s name as someone who would provide a fantastic fishing experience, and boy did he deliver! Mike shared his deep knowledge of fishing in a way that was relatable to a regular fisherman like my dad, and to a novice like myself. Mike was fun, patient, kind, and he made every effort to ensure that we had a memorable experience. Which we did! Including hitting one-last spot as we were about to wrap-up, which allowed my father to actually catch ‘the big one’ for his special day!

Worst fishing trip ever. Ive never in my life been on a 5 hour fishing trip & never caught a thing. Guide didnt even try to relocate so that we could catch at least one fish. My kids were so excited about the trip & it was horrible. Waste of money! An honorable business man would have not charged us for the trip or at the very least charged only half. You promise a service and did not deliver that service.

Ive been out with Mike twice now, and both times hes put us on the big ones. Weve reached our limit in a few hours. I didnt even have time to sit down. Mikes the only Beaver Lake guide in my book, but if you like to sit around and be bored, maybe try someone else.

Hit the water at 5am and got to the fishing spot within 5 minues. About 20 minuets into fishing we got the first bite and first fish in the boat. We stayed in that area for the entirety of the trip (5 hours), unfortunately there was no more bites or fish caught. It was a very nice morning and calm waters. I did some casting and caught 2 small spotted bass, but never touched a striper pole, but that is fishing. Boats came and left the area, so it was not over crowded which was nice.

We have used Mike Baileys Beaver Lake Guide Service for four years and its past time to write this very positive review of the man, the guide, and the respect he holds both for Beaver Lake and his customers. I give Mike a top 5 rating for each of the fishing trips we have had with him. We have reached our limit for Stripers a couple of times and did not reach limit a couple of time. But, for each trip, Mike gives his customers his best effort to locate fish and assist his guests in catching and landing these beautiful fish. My wife hired them as a fathers day gift for her father. We had the son for our guide and he put us on the fish. He wasnt the most personable guy but nice enough and really catching fish was what we wanted not conversation. We had a good time and we would do it again sometime.

Mike is the man!He took us on a last minute late eveing reservation, made time for us,then put us on the fish. The time flew by with great conversation and jokes that were interrupted by catching fish. We will definitely be back!Thank you again!🎣

What a great experience! First time Ive ever caught a striper. My husband and I were treated great and Mike was very professional and friendly (and funny)! Highly recommend Mike and well use him again next time were at Beaver Lake (if hes not booked - - - hes a very sought after guide on Beaver Lake)!!!

We booked 2 boats and brought the family, even the young ones. It was fun, exciting, and completely enjoyed it. We will definitely be doing this again.

Ive gone out with Mike a couple times now. Hes a great guide and has put us on fish nice fish too. After meeting him the first time I knew he would be my guide everytime on Beaver Lake. I usually try to find a guide service for new places I fish and have definitely been out with a lot of them so I feel I know the difference between good ones and bad ones and trust Mike Bailey is a very good one. Another Great trip !!! Took my Wife out and had a great time. Mike is as good of a person as he is a professional fishing guide. Im an experienced fisherman so I know you dont always catch fish. If your thinking about taking a striper fishing trip on Beaver Lake look no further than this guy, and oh yeah we caught plenty of fish too! Mike is a great guide. We had a great time and caught some really big fish. I just got my mount back. Keep in mind, that wall the fish is mounted on is 4 feet from corner to window. Thanks so much Mike. If I can drag Buck away from Houston well see you again soon. I prefer the day time changes though...LOL I sure had them out there early though.....Hahahaha

Thanks to these guys, we now have jealous friends and family who want to go striper fishing. I guess we’ll have to make the sacrifice and go with them!😆 Actually, I’d go again anytime- especially in boat #2 with Kevin! He was very patient and kind, even when I was getting the lines tangled up! These guys are worth every penny!

TERRIBLE! I would give no stars if possible, I booked my trip 2 months in advance in order to get mike himself, I was promised I would be going with him , mike spoke to me on the phone and said we will catch fish ,I get a call 4 days before my trip from kevin who tells me Mike had an emergency and he was filling in I was disappointed but he said they were catching fish me and my son decided to go with it then the day before our trip I was told someone would meet us at the dock turns out I was pawned off again to someone else, although disappointed again I gave them a chance our guide was really nice and he did try hard but after 5 hours on the water only one small bite and 0 fish he apologized, I wasnt mad at our guide Ive fished my whole life and I understand you dont always have a great day but the facts are I was flat out lied too ! These guys better start at least telling the truth I understand Mike wont be available for at least a year so dont expect him! Ive had my own struggles so I try not to judge but I feel I was totally taken advantage of and I hope it doesnt happen to anyone else! Do more research before you book a guide theres many in the area !

Friendly and professional. Understand you cant limit out everytime you go out but catching that 39 pound beast made it all worth it! Would go out with Mike anytime.

Went on the striper tour, caught our limit 2 hours early. Absolutely excellent experience. With our guides help I caught a 30 pound striper! The guide was an expert and made everything quick simple and easy and taught us how to succeed in catching the fish. Absolutely recommend Baileys for your striper tour, youll have a blast

Our group of 4 had an awesome trip. We will be back and will use captain mike again. Hell do whatever it takes to get you some fish.

Great first time Striper fishing. Went out with Kevin the first day and Mike the second and they both put us on the fish including a 34 lb 44” monster. Couldn’t be happier.
