Sullen employees with no clue- I usually shop at Ulta with salespeople who are friendly & excited about makeup and can recommend products. I asked the girl I had to hunt down to check if she had any backstock of an item that was on sale. Oh I then bought two items that both said gift with every purchase and when the sales girl rang me up I told her about it she’s like “no I don’t think so” & I said that’s what the signage says to which she replied halfheartedly “I guess I can give you a gift” even though I should have been given two!!! I will not shop this location again!!!!

I got followed around the store today. I sincerely tried to ignore it (unfortunately not unusual), but when she asked me if I needed help for the fourth or fifth time I called her out. She denied it, but I told her Id been watching her. I told the manager, but failed to get names because I didnt want them to see me upset. This just happened (10/23/21 around 1345). Incredibly disappointing.I just wanted to add that it was a fellow minority that did this to me.

I visit the Benefit Brow Bar at Congressional Plaza pretty regularly. Daija is AMAZING at her job!!! My eyebrows have never looked this good!!! I am beyond satisfied.

I Love this place! I went to get a hair cut and nutrition and Valerie toned my hair because it was damaged from the highlights and this is beyond my expectations. I love how natural my hair color looks now. Thank you Valerie!

The Sales Associates were very nice and helpful. While they didnt have what I needed. They offered alternatives that might work for me. It was actually my first time visiting the Store, but it will not be my last. I was very impressed.

I think I was asked 4 times in the 15 minutes I was there if I needed help. Two of the times in a span of 5 minutes it was the same employee who asked! If I say I’m good, I’m good, no need to ask so much.

My favorite one stop shop for all my makeup and skincare needs! Amazing return policy, I’ve never had an issue. The staff at this location is super sweet and helpful! They recommended the best lip mask a few months back and it’s actually become a staple piece in my skincare regimen. Definitely have an addiction to this store ❤️

I absolutely love coming to shop at Ulta Beauty in Rockville especially with Daija Wilson. She is so vibrant and friendly, she always takes the time to listen to my skincare needs and recommends the best products, and they actually WORK.I also get my eyebrows waxed and tinted by Daija Wilson. I was hesitant at first because I was worried the shape wouldn’t be what I wanted and that the tint might be too dark. Daija went out of her way to handcraft a shade perfect for my eyebrows and mixed two different shades together so it would be exactly what I wanted. She is truly amazing and I highly recommend her for all your beauty needs!!- Mariah

You must look for the dark hair lady with glasses, she was helpful with out corner you, she listen your needs and answers your questions. Good Quality products and big variety of products to choose from depending of your budget.

A bit pricey... But when are good cosmetics not? I come here for quality and most importantly the expertise and recommendations of the staff. Also, they have the best return policy Ive seen anywhere - maybe a pandemic thing... But it is 90 days and they will take it back opened so its perfect if you want to take some risks with new products knowing you wont be out 50$ + dollars if you have a bad reaction or it looks like garbage (unfortunately... And fortunately because obvious corona concerns- you cant sample anything in store anymore so the only way to try something is to take it home)

This is the first time Ive been to this location and I was greeted several times. Also asked if I needed help with anything several times, as well. Ive lived in this area for a soild eight years. So, that was a big surprise for me! I went as soon as the store opened and everything was clean bright and organized. Hopefully, the greeting aspect doesnt change back to how it was previously.

The last couple of times I been coming to Ulta. No one said hello when I walk in. No one ask me if I needed help and when I was ready to check out they was all busy taking to each other I had to say something to me so they could check me out

I had a great experience at the Salon with Leona. She cut my hair exactly the way I asked her to and took her time with styling my hair at the end which I really appreciated. I also asked her for recommendations for a new shampoo and conditioner based on my hair type, and so far I am enjoying the new products!

Yes, yes yes!!!Placed an order online, super easy and you can even do a check in for them to bring your items to you.Despite pandemic times and people trying to get their gifts going on, this place was really organized and clean. Wiping and sanitizing in between customers.I did not remeber the name of the lady who helped me 🤔😓 but she was soooo nice and speeding up to help clients buying and with the pick up orders.Definitely making this my ulta location!!!

I love going to Ulta- especially this one! Not only do I love the products, but the employees are always kind! I had a gift card and had to limit myself to one item and an employee named Heather was incredibly helpful. She told me details about the products I was torn between and I was able to leave very happy with my decision.

The staff here is amazing and so nice. They are helpful with your questions and whatever you may need. This place is in a great location, clean, and well organized. They also have a salon for anyone who needs their hair or makeup done. Great experience and got helped quickly!

They had a significantly smaller selection than most Ultas Ive been to, but they did a nice job with spacing things out and taking COVID precautions. The staff were just as helpful and pleasant as they are at every other Ulta Ive been to.

Hey guys, my experience changed completely because of Ashley, she is the sweetest associate that was open to answer all my questions and guided me to the right product. Definitely Ulta should be having more people like her to help their costumers.

I’ve never had good experience here. The staff here isn’t really that helpful and mean...I felt really out of place and wanted to leave the store as soon as possible! I decided to give this store another try but it was horrible! I asked around for a specific product and I understand that the workers might not know every band in the store but they don’t have to be rude about it. I asked a worker where I could find a Catrice: dewy setting spray. She literally looked at me like I was crazy and then talked to the worker behind her, said “what is she taking about” and laughed. I asked again and she said “Not here” then continue to laugh with her co-worker....not sure what was funny. They are many ways she could have told me that she wasn’t familiar with that brand or it wasn’t in store but her response was unprofessional. After that happened I wanted to leave the store and just go to a different store. Customer service has a lot to do with a business especially a place like Ulta.....Won’t be going back to this store.

Theyre often pretty helpful when I visit, but sometimes I cant tell if theyre pushed to offer specific products because the company tells them to, or if they are offering genuine advice from personal experience. Additional knowledge of the products beyond what the label says might be more convincing for earning my trust to purchase if that makes sense.

I love this location! Everyone is so friendly and helpful here. They carry most brands I use and great deals with member point system always helps. I’m a beauty junkie, so I can tell everyone from the freelance reps to Ulta staff is well informed about products. Beauty steals were the best! I think I bought every steal of the week this year!

I had my appointment with Leona, she is simply wonderful. I had brassy blond hair and she could take all that yellowness away. I would totally recommend her, she is very professional!

Worst short haircut ever! I showed Leonna a picture of how I liked my hair (of myself), told her I didn’t want it too short, that I didn’t want my head to look like a cone, and that I wanted it feminine and sculpted. She cut my hair for two solid hours, did not wash it first, talked the whole time about how much she loved cutting short hair, and left me with almost no hair on my head. It was horrible. I paid more in Ulta’s system for her because the Ulta rep on the phone told me that Leonna was an expert cutter. I was looking forward to finally getting a cut after waiting six months (Covid-19) and came out horrified and sat in the car and cried. There is nothing to do when you have told the person what you want and showed them a picture and then they give you a totally different cut. Never will go to that place again.

Love this place , amazing products

A great Ulta with a great salon. Alana cut and styled my hair and I have already gotten a few compliments. This is also where I shop for some of my cosmetics and skincare and they usually have everything in stock that I need.

I always roam the aisles at Ulta happily finding new things. The sales staff are helpful, the options are great and when something may be missing they find something that will work!

The only reason why I gave three stars is because I loved my stylist before she left on medical leave. Other than that, a consulting firm needs to assist management on how to handle personnel matters and perfect their leadership abilities. Rest In Peace ✌🏾

Normal inviting Ulta store but not very tidy. The were a few products out of place or out of stock and the perfume section was a bit of a mess but they had a good selection. Complimentary bag for Mothers Day so Im not mad.

I’ve never had good experience here. The only time I go in is when I know exactly what I’m getting. Employees are not helpful at all. My last experience was when I bought an online item and picked up from the store. I realized I bought the wrong thing. I wanted to return but was told that it hasn’t been 24 hours, the system does not allow the return??? Just annoying

My girlfriend LOVES this place so on behalf of her I have to give it 5 stars. All the cosmetic stuff you could ever need for your girlfriend or wife at really good prices.

If you look closely a lot of the products they look like they’ve been tampered with. A lot of the body butters have fingerprints on the surface. A lot of safety seals on the products that are on the shelves are broken. I was recently in this store, I had to look high and low for two hours just to find products that I knew hadn’t been opened and tampered with at all. I wonder about the stores cleanliness . The store is very pricey and I feel like it is not worthwhile shopping there for these products that have obviously been tampered with, possibly by other customers. I’m not talking about the testers I’m specifically talking about most products that are on the shelves there. The staff are very polite, very well-informed, and very willing to educate you on product knowledge. Overall I was pretty disappointed with my visit there, but the staff were excellent.

I shop here frequently and the sales associates are not very friendly or inviting. I don’t have the same experience at the Frederick location. The people at the Frederick store are much more courteous and helpful.

The Employees here hawk you like no other. I was asked if I needed help by the SAME PERSON 5 times. Not to mention the constant following you around. I am not an idiot this was absolutely profiling and I was appalled. Train you staff to let customers BE CUSTOMERS no matter their skin. Felt like I was in a prison in here. Awful.

I love Ulta so much, and I have come to the Rockville store many times. The people are usually so nice, however, me and my friend went there earlier today and the people working were so rude. The people who checked us out were not friendly whatsoever. When my friend was checking out she was paying in cash, and she handed the girl her money and the girl clearly did not know how to work at a register. She handled the money wrong and somehow lost the money within two seconds of being handed it. She tried to get more money from my friend, and implied that she did not give her enough when my friend clearly did. I love this store so much, but they should really think about hiring some new people. If you are not good at human interaction, you should not be working in retail. -The World.

Not the first time I’ve had a bad experience at Ulta with the customer service. The lady who helped me was very rude and judgmental towards the products I was buying. I ended up leaving empty handed because she drove me away from them. I wanted to dye my hair and she was saying things along the lines of “do you want it to look bad!?” and said she would never recommend the products they had in store but didn’t show me any alternatives. Do not go to this Ulta or at least don’t ask for help!!!

The staff are rude and have no clue about the products, the security guard spent the whole time following us and the staff spoke to us like toddlers. Save yourself the trouble and either shop online or go to Sephora where they are helpful and are actually trying to retain customers.

Refused to take my return although it had been within 60 days. Used to be an employee, and they told me I couldnt return it without a receipt, although I was apart of the loyalty program and they could have pulled it up. I knew this policy but they still continued to give me lack-luster excuses, so I contacted customer service, and they told me that the store was forced to return my items. Called back to this location twice, and they still refused to acknowledge my return, telling me only customer service could handle it. Had to get a physical confirmation from customer service forcing them to register my return (the receipt, although it was in the system??) before they did. All times I contacted this store, they refused to help me and even responded in a condescending tone. When I finally went to return my items, I was treated as if it were my fault that the return couldnt be processed. I had previously tried to return my items twice, before having to waste time on a third visit before my return was issued. Wish I had recorded the phone-calls and conversations. Dont shop here.

They dont answer the phone. I just left and the mistakenly did not place one of the items I purchased in my bag... Im trying to call them to ask them to set it aside and they wont answer.... Poor customer service.

Great staff who informs you on the arrival of an item that has sold out but you are interested in.

I went there because my friend wanted to look at their sales, but I didn’t plan on buying anything. We had previously gone christmas shopping at Five Below so we had a lot of bags and luckily i found a cart on the way so I put all my bags in the cart. As soon as we walked in a worker practically ran up to me and said i couldn’t have the cart in the store. She very rudely said I either had to leave it outside or stand in the front of the store and have someone stay with it, I was confused so i asked her 3 times if I could just leave the cart outside and take the bags before she finally said yes. I was annoyed because she caused a scene and some of the other employees were looking at me as I went outside and got my things out of the cart. I went back inside to find my friend and the employee gave me a fake smile as she passed and went to talk to a security guard. A minute later the manager came up to us and asked if either of us had a cart that we were told to get rid of and I told her it was me. She said that I could bring the cart back in if I wanted to and apologized, which I thanked her for. As i was just following my friend I noticed the security guard seemed to be following us. I tested my theory and told my friend to come to the back of the store with me, and my friend told me the security guard was looking at us over an aisle. At this point I was irritated and annoyed so my friend decided to pay and I just followed her. As I was at the cash register with my friend with the cashier RIGHT in front of us, I looked around and caught the security guard peering over an aisle looking at me and as soon as we made eye contact she looked away and tried to cover herself. I am completely disgusted and I feel like this was racially motivated. Just because a black girl comes into a beauty store with a cart she needs to be followed around the store and is presumed to be stealing? I guarantee I will never shop at this Ulta store again.

Customer service at this location is terrible! Please please work with your employees on how to better serve customers and be more welcoming. Everytime I come in to this location the employees are all gathered around in groups gossiping and having casual conversations with each other.Ive never been greeted and am never asked if I need help. If I ever ask for help the employees seem reluctant to assist me. I wouldnt come to this location unless I know exactly what I need and wont need any help from the employees.
