A beautiful local cafe offering all the different coffee and tea options… much much better drinks than standard Starbucks options! Fairly good options for snack items as well… the best thing is the ambience and its location right within the Rochester downtown!

I love this place so much! While they do have amazing coffee and tea products, it’s the atmosphere that makes this place my favorite place to go in downtown rochester. I study here constantly and it’s the perfect environment. It’s not too loud, but also not dead silent that makes it feel illegal to cough. I’m always super productive here so 10/10

I’ve been going to the Bean & Leaf since they opened here when I was in high school. My parents still live in downtown Rochester, so whenever I visit, I love to stop by for their iced coffee - the best I’ve ever had! However, my last few visits have been less than great. Two times in a row I’ve ordered a large drink and been given a medium. The first time I didn’t notice til I left, the second, I couldn’t seem to get the attention of the girls behind the counter, sho were deep in conversation, so just accepted what I had. Most recently though, I stopped by to redeem a loyalty award I had for $2 off. The cashier said it would apply after I paid, but it did not, at which point another barista joined in to try to help, eventually getting frustrated and asking if I could just use the reward next time. I explained that I don’t live in the area and come in maybe 4 times a year, which was met with an eye roll and I was given $2 cash from the register. While I appreciate this, I felt like I was made to feel like a huge jerk and a burden for even asking to use the discount. I understand customer-facing roles are difficult these days (I work in one myself) but I’m getting the vibe that I’m more of a nuisance than a welcome customer here these days, which stinks.

I have been here a bunch of times now, and I had awesome service each time. This coffee shop has a diverse menu outside of coffee. They also have smoothies, milkshakes, and more! The atmosphere here is much more relaxed than other coffee shops. I like on how it is not so dim with their lighting as other coffee shops tend to be. The seating is comfortable too and a majority of the tables have outlets right next to them which makes it convenient when doing my homework.I have ordered multiple things off of the menu, but my favorite drinks thus far would be the Lemon Freeze and the Arnold Palmer. Recently it has been extremely humid, and both of these drinks were refreshing to cool me off. The Lemon Freeze had the right amount of sweet in it. The Arnold Palmer was made by them; I asked the cashier prior to ordering if it was just the can version or made by them. It also had the right amount of sweet to it, and it looked really cool before I mixed it up.This is a place that I would definitely recommend to others to try.

I got a small coffee that tasted burnt and like it was sitting for days. They filled it all the way up to the top and barely could any cream in it. It spilled a over the table. I had to ask for another cup so I could double it to keep it from leaking. When I asked for more cream I had to pour coffee out just to get more room.I brought m cup to the girl to add more cream and she didn’t even fill it up. I also go an iced vanilla latte with soy milk and all I could taste was pure sugar. The customer service is very lackluster to say the least. No kind of interaction, no smiles, stands there with an attitude. We walked out and threw our coffees away. What a waste of $8.

Prime real estate in downtown Rochester. Tables readily available. Great iced green tea. Seniors screaming on cellphones, Wi-Fi with a written password onthe counter with the riddle of which letters are upper case or lower case to sign on, female clerks that preface each sentence with So. Dirty tables with 3 workers standing in a huddle behind the counter. What more could you ask for today? Some good workers and also the stereotypical snotty kids too. I tip well but will be holding off on that until it improves.

Sweet little cafe in Downtown Rochester. Plenty of vegan options, it definitely is a pitstop for us whenever we are in town. They offer tea with the whole tea kettle so you can pour and take your time studying or playing from a variety of board games they keep near the sofas. From tea, coffee, to treats, and sandwiches, VEGAN options are available.

A nice spot on the corner of main in downtown Rochester. They have a ton of options of tea and coffee and the way that they display the coffee is very creative, it is drawn out on the board showing how much coffee or cream or espresso is in each drink. Everything is reasonably priced as you would expect to pay for a coffee or speciality drink. Service is quick and friendly as well. We usually try to stop in here whenever we take a stroll around downtown or over the to park to get our caffeine fix. Definitely a good place to stop.

Good place to stop in for a coffee or prepared drink with a plentiful selection of seating. The art on display brings an inviting and chill vibe to the place. As for service, that depends on what you and the people in front of you ordered. Its usually fairly quick in my experience, but at peak hours you might have a short wait in line to look over the menu board.

Easily the worst coffee shop I have ever been to. There is a girl who works there who was extremely rude to me when I was only trying to place a simple drink order. I asked another employee for the girls name and they said it was Emma. I used to really like coming here (for getting work done not for the drinks or else I would go to Dessert Oasis) but the quality has gone way down hill. Unless the quality gets better and that Emma girl is fired, I will not come back and will tell my friends not to either.

Great place, not my kind of thing to go out and get coffee really. I always order a black coffee. Take the lid off to let it cool. At home, I’d put a little cold water in there to cool it off. Don’t give me any garbage about that. It’s not my fault I’m not a psycho who can enjoy scalding hot coffee. I wouldn’t make the server cool it off anyway. Truth be told, I only go here because my friend, Dylan, likes it a lot and wants me to go with him. I’m pretty sure he’s got a crush on one of the baristas. Don’t worry he’s not a creep, he just sits quietly and hopes that over tipping will start a conversation. It doesn’t.I don’t partake in such frivolity, I just drink my cool cool coffee.

Espresso and their wide selection of teas are solid. Location is great. Staff is friendly. I would highly recommend B&L with one exception — if youre planning on stopping by in the morning. Sadly, they are rarely open on time. And, not just 5-10 minutes late, many times they are an hour or more late. So, if youre planning on meeting friends, colleagues or a potential employer at the Bean before work — or, if you want to bank on a good cup of joe for your ride into work — Id call first or save the aggravation and just go somewhere else. Afternoons and evenings are safe — go and enjoy yourself. Mornings... well... maybe someday.
