Very knowledgeable, friendly staff! Fully explained how plantar fasciitis works and which shoe and sock options could help. Ive been wearing the socks and shoes all day and they feel great! I went with the Hoka shoes, but they carry a number of different brands. I will definitely go back when I need to replace these.

Runabout Sports Roanoke is a wonderful resource for the community. They provide knowledgeable, personal service to help anyone be well-prepared to work toward their fitness goals, where the goal is to walk a little more each day or become an Ironman. The programs they run and particularly their commitment to supporting the community and other local businesses are what really make them amazing. Even though I moved out of the area, I still get all my running gear from them.

A wonderful running store, and such great customer service. I mainly planned on checking things out, but had a wonderful conversation with Tray and Julia and found out about some more quality running gear. They have a variety of merchandise,and Ive been told that they will be getting more soon. There is definitely great customer service here

The people who work there and super friendly and so helpful and they also support the local community and offer free running groups and training. I moved to Roanoke without knowing a soul and stumbled upon the running group and can honestly say this store and the staff and all of those who are a part of the training and running groups are simply amazing humans.

Love this place! Knew Ally personally and she helps make workout plans specifically designed for your needs, and she is great at encouragment. A very welcoming family as I am new to my running lifestyle. My favorite thing Ive gotten so far is a Nathans belt to wear to carry my keys and phone while I run!

Runabout is a great local running business! Have gotten running shoes for myself but have also gotten shoes for the rest of the family. My go to place for fuel during marathon training! Only thing I wish they had was bigger sizes in mens clothing.

To go the extra mile (pun intended), Run About posts helpful and insightful videos on everything from proper stretching techniques and injury prevention to mindfulness practice.In addition to the wonderful aspects inside and provided by the store, RA is a vital part of the Roanoke health and fitness community. The store hosts an active running group with group runs three times a week, and special runner oriented strength training. The Roanoke and Salem community are lucky to have them!

I have moved from Roanoke but I still really miss the fun runs that runabout does every week. It was a great opportunity for me to meet new people, hang with old friends, and work on running form and speed. This is one of the greatest pub runs I’ve gotten to do, and I miss it a lot. Runabout Sports Roanoke is without a doubt my go to spot for any running related apparel, accessories, or snacks. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable and want to help you find the best choice for you, whether it is a clothing item you have been looking for or a shoe choice to help if you are recovering from an injury. They also provide a free workout just about every day of the week varying from group pub runs, cross training, and weekend endurance training runs based around upcoming local races. They are an extremely welcoming group of people and try to make everyone feel like family when you are at their events.

Fairly new member, pleasant running/walking group & welcoming regardless of ability which is nice. Variety of events to take part in and knowledgeable about fitness. My daughter also looks forward to her weekly Starr Hill visit.

The first experience I had with Runabout Sports was at Ladies Night 2019 and since then I try to do as many activities with this group as I can!! Since taking up running almost a year ago, I have leaned heavily on the RunAbout staff for advice and guidance. The whole staff, and especially owners, Ally and Tyler, have really taught me so much about form, safety, long term durability and health and have just really made me feel welcome. The group runs they sponsor Tues, Wed,Thurs, Sat and Sunday have always been a blast and a great environment to make me feel at home in the running community.

Without a doubt this is the best store in Roanoke for running shoes. Professional and knowledgeable sales staff that cares about getting you in the right shoe and not selling you unnecessary things like inserts and socks. I have enjoyed my Hoka One One running shoes and will be back again for my third pair.

Been a consumer since 2015 when I met the old owner when I was training for my first half marathon and am still a consumer today under the new management!As runners we all have different needs, and Runabout is very accommodating. Under the old management I needed a pair of shoes in an 8.5 and they got them to me within reason since not in stock right then and there.A few months ago, same thing, I wanted a specific pair of sunglasses, and they got them to me within reason. The REAL rockstar treatment!!They always carry great brand names so if youre training for your first 5k, first marathon or anything beyond that check em out!!

Three years ago we moved to this area and we checked out this store. The staff/owners have been nothing but helpful in helping us finding the right shoes. Finding this store and the pub runs they sponsor has made the transition to this area the best move ever.

I couldnt be more satisfied with my purchase and experience. I’ve been running for 5 years and that the staff and the owners make you feel welcomed and I’m the one that the slowest runner and that they make sure one of the staff members come out on the course and make sure I’m doing okay.

Back in February of 2019, I made the decision to run the Blue Ridge marathon. I had less than 16 weeks to get ready and knew that Id need something to motivate me to train, so I decided to come to a Saturday morning run at Wiley bridge, as I needed 8-9 miles and Runabout was doing Peakwood, the last mountain in the three that are done in BRM. What a providential choice that was. If youre a runner and your not running with us at Runabout, youre missing out on not only great training and all sorts of other cool activities like Deschutes and Ladders, trail running, Ironman training, weight and strength training, even nutrition advice from experts, but youre depriving yourself of one of the best communities of runners and fitness seekers in this town. The people of the Runabout family are just that, like family. They care. They are some great friends. And Im so thankful that I decided that Saturday morning to join them for that run. I count it as one of my best decisions ever. You will too.
