A truly disappointing experience. Tate, my sales rep, used pushy sales tactics to get me to order more than a suit the first time I met with her. I didnt want to order more than a suit, because I was unsure of the clothing quality and wanted to try a suit first.I ordered with Tate in Denver, but since I live in New York City, I was assigned an additional rep in NYC. There was clearly a lot of miscommunication between the two reps and a lack of follow through. When my suit arrived to New York, Louisa, the other rep, had me go to the Tom James location for a fitting. The suit didnt fit at all - Im not sure why Tate took my measurements in the first place, because they were basically useless. I had another fitting 4 months later, and it STILL didnt fit properly.Finally, my suit jacket and pants arrived around 5 months after ordering from them, but my shirt was nowhere to be found. I asked to speak to management, and Tate told me that there is no management. She offered to refund my shirt - we were 6 months in at this point. Tate was rude and unhelpful. Louisa never responded to my texts. I reached out to their corporate offices. They assigned me to a new rep, Kaitlin, who was the most helpful rep out of the three.I received my shirt 7 months after placing my order, and it still doesnt fit. At this point, Im going to accept it as is.The last thing I will note is that Tom James only recently started making custom clothes for women. This is apparent, as the suits fit like mens. They have no idea how to shape their clothes to fit a womans body, and the material feels cheap.I highly recommend staying away from this company all together.Edit: Tate also told me that I wont need to take off my suit jacket in the workplace, because I shouldnt show my shoulders working in a corporate office. I highly doubt Tate has had any experience working in a corporate office based on that horrendously minsogynstic comment.

I love my Tom James clothes. I have a number of suits, sports coats, slacks and dress shirts. Without fail, wherever I go, I get compliments on my attire - and thats not an exaggeration. But the best part of Tom James isnt the clothes; its the clothier, and none are better than mine: Mauri Moffat. Simply put, Im not that great at fashion. I want to look good - but its just not a passion of mine. But Mauri took time to understand what I like and dont like and she handles the rest. She matches my suits and ties, advises on cuff or no cuff and even puts a little color in my suit liners to make them pop more than I would have on my own. Mauri is an expert at what she does - and she makes my wardrobe look like Im an expert. She has passion and knowledge in areas that where I lack and she makes shopping for clothes the most seamless and rewarding experience it could possibly be.

I have been wearing custom suits, blazers and shirts for a long time, but after working with Piper Francis for the last year, I will only be getting my custom apparel from Tom James. Piper is incredibly attentive, knowledgeable and detail oriented as well as being an absolute pleasure to work with. Tom James has an extensive selection of the best fabrics available for suits, casual or formal jackets, shirts and pants and every accessory you could possibly need. Because my exact measurements are on file, if I need anything, Piper comes right to my office, shows me an enormous variety of options, provides her expert opinion and then hand delivers the finished product back to me. It took 5 months to get my jacket. The service was horrible as they did not update me on delays until I followed up. I asked to make alterations to the jacket and they returned with nothing done but acted like they made the changes. They charge for every bit of customization. You can go to suit supply and get a whole suit for the price of their jackets and the quality and service is way better!

Overall unhappy with the Tom James experience, and heres why...A soon as I established a relationship with one person there, I was quickly switched to someone else, who is nice but not as in-tuned to what I ask about. Its taken over 3 times to get my fit right, and apparently there are hidden charges for basic suit features, that should come with a premium custom made suit, including functional button holes, or adjustment tabs instead of belt loops. Also, overall Tom James has a very limited and conservative fabric color and button selection, and have a limited number of resources to help in the process (outdated and limited website/app for their reps to work with).On the plus side, they are friendly to deal with, and show up on-location to work with you.

I like the quality of the clothes. They are not cheap. I m more dissatisfied with the customer service of it.

Always a great experience. They come to you, on your schedule. Your clothier gets to know you and your tastes, makes recommendations that match your style, body type, and circumstances. Quality of the clothing is tops. The suits I have purchased wear very well and have outlasted anything I ever bought off the rack. Cant recommend enough.

After a short conversation, I knew the search was over and Tiffany / the Tom James team put together the perfect tux for the big day. Since then, Ive added a suit per season and a number of shirts. I cant recommend working with Tiffany enough.

Been working with Rob at Tom James for about 15 years and have only good things to say. In those rare circumstances where Ive had a problem with a suit or short, Rob and Tom James have always fixed it without any problem.

TJ has full transformed my wardrobe. I cant express how much better my suits, sport coats, slacks and dress shirts fit with the custom fitting.The quality of the work is top notch and my personal consultant (Lawrence Kim) is great. Id give him a 5 star rating. Hes very responsive and goes the extra mile to make sure Im happy with the outcome.Only knock is that some of the fabrics on the lower end-lines seems to be lower quality than I would expect for a suit at this price. Lower end, id say go to store.

Great custom fit, great fabric, and great customer service. John Kardos @ The Tom James Company came to my office with a book of fabric samples and designs and helped me choose two of what became my favorite suits. He does a full measuring to ensure a custom fit, and the suits are made to perfection. You can tell that a lot of attention to detail goes into making the suit. John also helped me pick out some shirts which I had monogrammed. A few months later, I ordered another suit and 8 dress shirts. I can’t wait for the next!

Shockingly bad quality. Had a suit made and it was so cheap and shoddily tailored I had to cancel it. (To their credit, they didnt force me to buy it, hence two starts instead of one.) I also had shirts made. Told the guy I wanted the necks smaller. He didnt listen. Now the necks are two sizes too big and the shirts meanwhile are too small to wear. I wasted so much money here and ended up having to go somewhere else.

I never thought I was the type of person who would (or could) order custom shirts but after my first meeting, I became a regular customer. I was tired of dress shirts fitting too loose or having sleeves that were too long or too short so I started by ordering a few custom shirts. The way they fit, their finish and fabrics beat anything that I was buying off the rack at retail stores. They quickly became the favorites in my closet so I ordered more and then ordered a few suits and have been extremely happy with every purchase. Working with Gracie Smith (the best!) is an incredible experience. She has great taste and style and will show things beyond the basic blue and white that I normally wouldn’t have picked. Each item she guides with ends up being my favorite. Even better, she works with my insane NY schedule - comes to my office and can have shirts and jackets picked and ordered in 8 minutes! I have an event at the end of the month and wanted a new suit for it. Gracie ran over, showed me 3 fabrics she’d pre-selected to speed things up and in less time than it takes to get a coffee at Starbucks, we had a custom suit in the works ready to be rushed in time for my presentation. Custom buttons, lining, monogram and all. Tom James has changed the way I show up at work (and on weekends) and I couldn’t be happier. Ask for Gracie!!!

Ordered a couple of custom suits & shirts. A number of unnecessary problems took place which created significant inconvenience & delay in actually getting to wear these items. However, my contact, Taylor Peck, did an excellent job of understanding the issues & resolving things. I am awaiting the final results.

Since I have left 4 messages to get my situation resolved with no response, I thought that maybe this would make my voice heard. One of their clothiers, Michael Reese is a fraud. He has been selling me clothes for a while, however, this is the last straw. One time, for a BELT, I had to wait 2 months to hear that it was on backorder. He charged my card for something I never ordered and excused it as Oh, it was only $57. No big deal. No Mike, that is fraud. Now, I have a pending order which I have been charged 50% of and Mike made an appointment 4 weeks ago and to this day, I have yet to hear from him. I leave messages with the 1-800 number saying that the leader will reach out, nothing. Someone is clearly covering up for this fraud of a clothier. NEVER do business with them again.

I bought a two piece suit for $3500 and took the pants back to them to have them altered. They damaged my pants and told me there’s nothing else they can do with those pants but to purchase another pants. So I bought another pants for $500 and they did the alterations and again they made them too tight they damaged the second set of pants.
