The ladies here were so helpful and patient. They were super busy for awhile while we were there but they found time to help us and answer questions. It took about 3 hours and probably 30 dresses but we finally found the one for Homecoming! I love how they have sooo many beautiful dresses available in all price ranges. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

After 8 different stores, and 4 hours of searching we went here as a recommendation from a local dress store worker who was unable to help us. Ms Bonnie was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and helped us find the perfect dress at a price we could afford!! She was super patient with our kiddo who was losing hope and getting frustrated and Ms Bonnie saved the day! The other staff was friendly and helpful, they have a HUGE selection, clean store, large dressing rooms, and per our teen after finding the perfect dress and seeing it on in the big mirror I feel special!. We said Yes to the Dress at Patina!! You should too! Everytime we need a dress in the future, we will make the 2 hour drive to see Ms Bonnie and give them our continued business.

Absolutely the best customer service ever! We never felt pressured to buy in a certain price range and Karen took so much time with my daughter to make sure she had the perfect dress for her prom! Im not going to post photos of her purchase, as she hasnt been to prom yet, but here are a couple that she tried. We will absolutely be back!

My son and his friend went in with their girlfriends. He noticed an unwelcoming sign that suggested that gentlemen take a seat on a bench. My son and his friend didnt get that far. The female minding the store asked if they were renting tuxedos. When they answered they were not, the female said they prefer that men not be near the fitting rooms. The fitting rooms were not in sight so, unless the entire store is considered a fitting room, they were not near them. My son and his friend took the blatant hint and left the store. Their girlfriends left too and will not be returning. I have a daughter also and can assure you we will not be shopping at Patina EVER! How rude. No wonder this little business has never made significant profits.

The first I came in here with my friends we were looking at the homecoming dresses, and a worker came up to us unprompted and said “Sorry, if you’re over size 5 we won’t have dresses for you” without even knowing our sizes. My friend left in tears upset because she felt bodyshamed.However, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and returned a week later to look for a dress by myself. I was in a dressing room and asked one of the workers to help zip me up. The worker refused to help me zip it and said that I looked like I was “too big for the dress”. I said fine and zipped it up by myself and it fit perfectly. I have never left a store faster in my life. It is absolutely ridiculous to treat customers this way. The fact that I have experienced this twice in this exact store shows that this is a store wide issue rather than just one person.

Patina Bridal & Formals was a life saver today! With my daughter’s prom being a day away and getting a special order in yesterday with the total opposite color we ordered (got hot pink ordered teal). Asked FB for help. Several friends sent us in the right direction... straight to Patina’s this morning. Fingers crossed & a few prayers, we arrived and got the best help ever. Such a beautiful selection and great variety. My daughter found the perfect dress! Please don’t waste your time and money ordering online giving lead way to being blindsided. Go straight to this lovely shop & find the dress you’re looking for! Happy daughter = Very happy mother ♥️

Incredible selection of gorgeous gowns, our sales girl was Maliah, super in every way! Maliah was patient, a great listener and very friendly to us. We found and tried on a gown in less than 20 minutes. The store was pretty busy but everyone seemed to be recieving help and dressing room/mirror access. Well be back for our future dress/accessories needs.

They gave me a discount for my bridesmaids dresses and my husbands tux as well. Very satisfied with the customer service here! I will deffinetly be a returning in the future.

We needed a prom dress, so we went here to try and get one. We walked in and it was a mess. They had just written down names for people to be next to go into a dressing room, and seemed just a little unprofessional but whatever. We then picked out our dresses, selection was pretty good, and gave it to a older gentleman who said he was putting them in the dressing room he had lined up for us since we were next. Well we were ready to go try them on and waited for around 10~ minutes for him to come get us and he tried to pull some dresses off the rack saying they were ours... but they werent any of the ones we picked out. He lost all the dresses we had picked out to try on, and by this point we noticed that people who had walked in after us already had dressing rooms before us. We tried to look for the dresses and an older woman started to get attitude with us for accusing him of losing them. We ended up just leaving after the bad experience. I really wish I could of gotten my dress because i found one i had really liked and wanted to buy. Bad service, disorganized, and rude. Im really sad that i couldnt of gotten my dress. :(

I came here looking for a wedding dress and was pretty disappointed. The selection was less than stellar and I was not very happy with my customer service. We made a last minute decision to get married so when the owner came out to help me and found out I only had a few weeks until the big day, she was not very happy. She kind of hovered while I looked around, which always makes me very anxious, though I understand she was trying to help. She did not have anything in the styles I wanted and didnt care much to look, plus most of her dresses were way past my budget. I will say that the prom dresses I walked by were gorgeous, so if you are a skinny woman with a heavy wallet, I can say this may be the place for you. Otherwise, maybe not.

I recently popped in to Patinas for a last minute formal gown, Sarah helped us find quite a few great dresses, the selection and service was amazing. We didnt end up purchasing a dress from Patinas, but my experience there with Sarah was wonderful!!! What a great place.

I had a horrible experience with this company. I would not recommend shopping at Patina ESPECIALLY for a wedding. They ordered a dress for me that was 3 to 4 sizes too big. Keep in mind that they measured me and told me what size I would need. It is very convenient that they also do not offer any alterations. I paid them $200 for a dress and then had to pay an additional $70 for rush alterations. I asked they they help with the alteration costs or give me a partial refund on the dress and they refused. Then they said that per myself I requested that dress size. What a dishonest company.

My sisters and I came down for a fitting. My sister is getting married and we were just so excited. We worked with Daryn and had the BEST time. We havent experience such delight in service like that in a while and we truly appreciate her for her time and willingness to help us as we found so many beautiful dresses for my sister to try on. She dydnt get overwhelmed, she saw that we needed help and she made it her duty to help my sister with her dresses and help keep my other sister and myself entertained. We will definitely be back. We even went to another shop after but we all knew that it just didnt feel right because Daryn made such a great impact on us. We thank you!!!!! She needs a big fat raise for all her hard work that she does.😀

Great customer service! I came to Roanoke VA from DC for a buddies wedding only to find that I had left my suit at home once arriving to the hotel... I called a few places and Patina was the most helpful in getting me hooked up within minutes (I literally had less then 10min to find a place) and told me to swing by even though it might be a little after their closing time. They had a suit in hand ready for me when I came running through the door, fitted in less then 30 sec, and paid for and out the door within 2 minutes. The man (possibly owner) advised me to watch my speeding on the road that lead to the wedding site because the cops always sit waiting for speeders there AND he also mentioned that he would leave his truck unlocked for me to leave my rental suit on his front seat on Sunday (since store is closed) so that my wife and I could hit the road without worrying about returning a suit on Monday. Very friendly and professional and would recommend them anytime!

I have been to Patinas twice in Roanoke, once last year and once this year, both for prom. As soon as you go in, you have to wait in a line to be assigned to an attendant. Both times the attendant just dropped me to a random section and said to choose from that section. Last year I felt like I was so limited, and like I couldnt even go beyond the dresses she put me in front of, so I left within a few minutes of even getting in there, and the attendant did not help whatsoever, and did not seem to care. This year, after the attendant left, I went around to the other dresses and tried searching there. It was so packed in the store, and not just people wise. The dresses were so close together you could hardly look at them properly, and then on top of it, when people tried going by you, you couldnt move. I heard many complaints around me as well about how it was so cramped and that they couldnt get where they wanted or needed. I saw one poor girl couldnt even get to the mirror to look at her dress because it was so tightly packed. The attendant never came to help, and when I went to one section of dresses, I was rudely asked what I was doing by another attendant. Most of the attendants I encountered in my experiences have been stuck up, and seemed to not care about the experience of the shopper. Both times I went I came out empty handed and flustered. I felt like I couldnt take my time, and really look at the dresses, and the whole time I was uncomfortable and just wanted to leave. The selection of dresses were okay, some a bit too gaudy, but the main problem for me was the service and the arrangement of the place.

Even though I didnt find my dress here everyone was so welcoming and nice, unlike a certain other Bridal chain in Roanoke.

5 Star Price with WALMART Service. Where to start? Dresses are in discolored plastic bags on racks. Only thing you can see is the color of the dress. Attendants let you know they prefer you not take the dress from the rack...but are nowhere to be found to show what is in the plastic bags. Bring a note card.....need to write what rack / what size / location once you get someones attention. My 16 year old saw a dress she really like that someone was trying on. Attendant thought there may be one in a size 4 but could not find it.....owner claimed there was one only size 2. Noone will measure or attempt to order if there is a dress you would really like. Take it or leave it in this shop. We searched and finally found the size 4. We asked if it was possible to order a size 6......after much resistance and lengthy back in forth - we got the dress ordered.....with a 15.00 shipping charge ( as if they dont receive shipments) We received no notice ......after 5 weeks called the store and was told the dress arrived. Again - zero customer service - a 400.00 Le Femme dress!!!!!We asked to try the dress on arrival - it fit exactly as the size 4. (Wondered if the tags were switched) Very disappointed - but a NO return policy! Put he 400.00 dress in a plastic bag. Asked for a garment bag and was charged 15.00!!!!! Ever been to a trade show? Been given a disposable shopping bag with a logo? This shop charged 15.00 for a disposable garment bag for a 400.00 dress purchase. We purchase 2 formal dresses a year......400 - 700 ( Mostly Sherri Hill). Have been to many formal dress shops and this is by far the WORST customer service! OHHHH 11:00am - 5:00pm hours - because they are in such demand everyone works on their schedule) We will never go back. By the way we purchased a size 6 Sherri Hill from Genealogy in Raleigh - perfect fit, exceptional customer service, have received postcards, Thank you emails and a good quality garment bag. Night and DAY ...... and the pricing is the same. This retailer claimed his pricing was better - excusing his customer service and upcharges. HAH.....check the internet and you can find the retail price on these dresses......if he is in the dark ages perhaps he could have dialed the phone and let me know the dress had arrived ....... let alone any kind of Thank You!!!!!! There are many great retailers - DO NOT pay these prices for this low end customer service. Even Davids Bridal is better then this retailer!

Apparently Patina is doing so much business it doesnt need to worry about its customer service. I took my 2 teenage daughters there last year and bought 2 prom dresses and had a great experience. This year one of my daughters went back and bought a dress but came home crying and said it wasnt the dress she wanted but no one would help her so she just bought one. I called and complained and they agreed to exchange the dress minus a restocking fee. She went back today and had the same experience. She left in tears without a dress. I have 3 daughters and my repeat business alone would have generated them a lot of money but apparently they dont need it! If youre used to shopping at establishments that cater to its customers you will be extremely disappointed.
