I have bought bikes at East Coasters and brought bikes in that I purchased in other cities. The staff has always treated me well and gone beyond normal expectations to help me fit and maintain my bikes. I very much appreciate their service and helpfulness and I would recommend the shop to anyone.

I already recommended East Coasters to my family twice and would do it again anytime. We made a few visits to East Coasters in the search for a new bike for my son. Each time we were greeted and assisted by a member of the sales team who was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Jeff was amazing! I drove 3 hours to buy the bike that I had been searching everywhere to locate. When I arrived Jeff greeted me outside and quickly pointed my attention to the beastly steed. He spent the next hour going over the bike in great detail with me, he adjusted the suspension and observed my test ride around the parking lot. Once the deal was done we continued our conversation but changing the subject to trails local to me (which Jeff was extremely familiar with), riding tips, gear tips... and so much more.Although a 3 hour Trek (pun intended) to purchase the bike is one thing, that same trip for service would be a tough one. Jeff immediately recognized the dilemma and recommended a good friend of his that sells/service Trek around the hallway point. My first call will always be to East Coasters, but I know they wouldnt hesitate to call ahead to my local dealer to make sure I get the best service.I will be a customer of East Coasters Bike Shop for life!

And, perhaps most importantly, a welcoming place to just hang out and talk cycling!

If you ride a recumbent trike, keep looking. They said they only service trikes with Bosch motor systems even though I told them no electric work was needed. They wouldnt even adjust my brakes, lengthen my chain, or anything else mechanical; just flat out refused service when I called since my trike is motor assist.

This is the first bike I have purchased from East Coasters, but I went through the experience of getting a new bike with a friend and knew I would be buying my next bike from them. The level of care and attention to detail was above and beyond what anyone could reasonably expect. The products, service, and knowledge are consistently amazing, I am a customer for life.

Customer service as it should be. This is the best experience Ive had at any store ever in my life. I primarily worked with Jeff and Kim - always greeted by name, went above and beyond to help me. Were not pushy. Straight forward. I purchased a custom built bike, had lots of tweaks and personalized mods to my bike and Jeff went above and beyond to give me EXACTLY what I wanted.

After a really terrible experience at my new local Trek dealer in Iowa....there was no way I was buying a brand new bike from them. So I called up my old bike shop in VA and chatted with my friend who works there, Kim, and made arrangements to buy a bike from 1000 miles away and fly in to get fit for it when it arrives. We purchased 2 Townie ebikes, wanted to get active in our old age. Did a lot of research , then started visiting bike shops. Bob greeted us and when we left East Coasters there was no doubt we would adopt them as our bike shop. We could not be happier, had an issue with one of the bikes the first day, Tim and Dick on their own time, came out to our aid. Kim helped us find the perfect bike rack and accessories we wanted. We love our bikes, they have allowed us to bicycle the wonderful trails in our area, not something we could have done with normal bikes. East Coasters professionalism and knowledge was what we needed, but their customer service is over the top. We dont feel like customers, we feel like friends.

I recently traveled from Raleigh, NC to pick up a 2020 Trek FX2 Silver for my wife. Inventory is extremely limited due to Covid 19 and warehouse closings. After visiting our local Raleigh store, we decided to make the drive to East Coasters as we were told wed have to wait until November to obtain the bike we wanted.The staff I spoked with over the phone were very friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to have the bike assembled within 24 hours with expedited assembly, from their mechanic, Jeff, who did an awesome job putting the bike together. We made the trip from NC on 6/17/20 and stayed overnight in Roanoke, VA. The bike was ready for pickup at 12 noon, the following day, as soon as East Coasters opened for the day.Mark, at East Coasters spent time with my family and I and answered all of our questions during the pickup process. He assisted my wife with sizing the bike specifically for her. He took all of the time that was needed, to get the bike right for her. We were very pleased with the service and assistance provided to us. The overall experience was outstanding. My wife has been riding the bike for the past couple of days after purchase and she just loves everything about it. Thanks again, East Coasters for everything. We look forward to seeing you next year for our one year tune-up!

Came in Saturday of Labor Day weekend after bending my derailleur in the GoCross race held at Fallon Park. The shop was super busy but the mechanic took the time to go over my option and provided a temporary fix for the Sunday race. Shifting on Sunday performed flawless and help me grab a top 5. Wouldn’t have been possible without the expert mechanic. Thanks again guys!!

The staff here is very courteous and helpful. They did much needed maintenance on two of my bikes. The job was completed when they said it would be, and the final cost was within $1 of a nice detailed written estimate. I was very impressed.

The customer service was fantastic! The staff really seem to have a passion for cycle and it felt like a judgement free zone. Im pretty new to cycling and only do indoor at the moment, but the staff were great. Helped me fit shoes and made sure they were comfortable and even installed the clips for me! Unprofessional ! As a former bike shop owner, I cant express how much of a service and personality driven industry cycling is. My visit to east coaster was from a different perspective. I am an independent Rep. who travelled by car to the Roanoke area ( 8 + hours ) to check out the local shops. I entered the shop and introduced myself to the sales woman and she said she would let the person in charge know that I was there. A short time later she came out from the back room and told me he said he doesnt see people without an appointment. She did say I could leave the information. I politely declined and left the store. It is my opinion that the products I represent wants only Polite courteous and knowledgeable people selling out products. Not people who feel they are so important that you need an appointment just to introduce themselves. A simple Hello but Im sorry Im busy would have gone a long way. I know this type well. They are your best friend as long as your spending money. Does make wonder about the service after the sale. Guess Ill never know.

East Coasters has been my go-to bike shop for over ten years. Recently, Kim and the crew helped me upgrade to a new road bike. After putting on a saddle of my own and it not working at all, Kim listened to me and gave me great options. I am now riding in comfort and ready for high mileage rides! These guys have been incredible with which to work!

Even though interactions with staff was minimal due to Covid, I like being able to shop online and pick up my order when it’s ready. I placed my order for some bar ends, recurved a phone call the next day telling me my item was ready for pickup and the store hours. Will visit the site/store frequently for upgrades, accessories, and more.

Ive been riding for many many years, and have experienced the full range of local bike shop types and attitudes across the US, and East Coasters is far and away THE BEST experience Ive had. The staff are friendly and always greet you with a smile (except maybe when theyre slammed, but hey...). Theyre not bike snobs who give you the hard sell or try to size up you and your bike savvy in a matter of seconds. They listen well, and are equally attentive and helpful whether youre just browsing, picking up some tubes or ready to lay down some big time cash on a major purchase. Ive witnessed (and experienced) the time they take to listen to and then educate and inform their customers to find the best options. Even working to make stuff from other shops right, which many shops simply will not do. If youre a serious veteran rider, a wet behind the ears rookie, or anyone in between, you will find helpful and friendly service there. While no one is perfect, these guys and gals are damn close!One final point. Their slogan is Its All About the Fit and that couldnt be more true. Having the proper fit makes a HUGE difference, so I encourage any skeptics to do it. East Coasters doesnt just muddle around with you, they get you and your bike on a trainer, take (and record) your measurements, and slowly get you dialed in by swapping out parts if needed. Getting it right may take a few tries, and you have to be engaged, but keep working with them. You will not regret it!Happy Riding ;~)

Awesome bike shop--without a doubt the best in Roanoke. Their staff is extremely friendly and helpful! I have used East Coasters for bike purchases, repairs, clothing, and advice for the past decade. Their service is impeccable and they are always happy to help you tackle any problem. I wouldnt take my bike anywhere else because I know that Wes and the gang do the best job in town.

Roanoke is very fortunate to have several great shops, but this one is the real standout. The staff is extremely passionate about riding, which makes them excellent sources for guiding you in the right direction with any purchase or service. I have purchased several bikes from them since 1997 and have been beyond happy with each purchase. I had a warranty issue soon after purchasing my last bike and they bent over backwards to make sure it was right. Their employees & owners do a lot to support the local outdoor community as well. They are a real asset to the quality of life in the area.

The entire staff was very friendly and helpful especially Kim. My son saved his money for a decent bike and Kim was super to work with. He shopped for bikes at other bike shops in Roanoke and many of the bikes are very comparable but Kim was one of the main reasons we chose to buy from East Coasters.

We were visiting from out of town when we discovered a severe problem with the back wheel of my husband’s bike. This shop is simply the best in the area. Whether its a mountain, road or tri bike their mechanics will listen to you, find the problem, and will fix it better and faster than any other shop Ive been to. They also devote a lot of time and energy to junior cycling, bringing events and races to the area that help get kids interested in cycling.
