Sadie is the best Kroger employee that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She did her job perfectly and aptly and should thus be given a promotional raise. I believe she would be well-suited to work in the floral department as overseer of flowers. 10/10 for Sadie.

I generally like Kroger. However, this one is absolutely abysmal. The wheels on the carts are forever locked and the associates just brush you off or send you to someone else who tries to send you to another associate. Krogers are generally great, just not this one.

I Hate going to this location at night like tonight! The cashiers are so rude and act as if they have no customer service skills or any decency in that matter. Never the less. Its one of the only grocery stores around that area at night. So I have real choice but to go to it. Smh!

Not enough real cashiers and too many self check outs. Good selection of meats. Employees could use more customer service training and courtesy.

I could go 2 this Krogers everday.....it gets me. Restrooms 🚻 are remodeled....toiletpaper can be unpredictable as days get a little hectic. Staff was friendly & helpful. Theres always a bargain in the clearance section my fav🤩

As of June 21, 2021, the store is closed at 10:00pm--not 11:00pm. Wrong hours are currently reported online. Upon visiting between this 10-11pm window, many upset potential customers were walking away. Employees were outside informing visitors that the store was closed.

WOW!! Today was the best, attentive and professional customer service Ive ever experienced at a grocery store. Rick took care of his customers in a quick and timely manner. Even when I goofed up with one of the items (end of day no one has time) he was kind and patient. Truly appreciated. Thanks, Rick 🙂

While I can always get the basics from this Kroger, I never can get good produce. A lot of the produce is either not ripe or nearly gone bad. The baked goods are pretty good.

I have always loved kroger. This particular location is the absolute worse kroger, and may indeed be the worst grocery store i have ever visited.in short the selection was absolutely dismal. how a store could be that big and have precious little in the way of choices is beyond me, but it truly truly sucked

This is one of the WORST grocery stores Ive ever seen.1) They apparently responded to years of complaints about only having one register open (I once saw a manager reluctantly open a second one shortly after I complained on the Kroger app that Id been waiting 10 minutes) by converting all but 3 registers to self serve areas and then continuing to only open one of the 3.2) I went into the one open non-self-serve lane because I had alcohol and paper bags werent an option, so now, after carrying multiple plastic bags home, I have very sore bruises on my arms.3) The person who checked me out didnt even send my bags to the end. I had to reach over the card reader to get them.If youre in the area, its worth the extra time and gas to go to the Carytown or WIllow Lawn Kroger.DO NOT SHOP AT THIS LOCATION.

Ive have not had good service at any Kroger. Saturday was my aunt 85th birthday party and I need flowers, so I went to the Kroger on Lombard in Richmond Virginia. I was looking for a nice center peace for the table. I found a bouquet of Orange roses, but I need them in a vase. I asked the young lady that was working in the floral department if she could put them in the vase for me. She said Maam Ill have to charge you for doing this. I told that will be fine, so she proceeded to put in the flowers in the vase that I had pick out. Cutting way the extra leaves to make it look nice, then she said this isnt the right vase for the flowers. She pick out another vase put the flowers in that vase and when back fixing the bouquet. She asked me what was the flowers for I told her it was for my aunt birthday. She said thats nice and proceeded to add more flowers to the vase. A simple bouquet because something wonderful for my aunt. She didnt charge extra, but I would paid it. It was worth every penny. Im not sure what her name was but if she was working in Kroger at Lombard in Richmond Virginia on Saturday October 21st between 12 & 1 I thank you. You are truly and angel.

Worst staff on the face of this planet. Why you service an employee before a customer is absurd. They do not take priority. Especially when they walk up 10 minutes after the paying customer. Have a little decency and respect

Either your hours are wrong or your employees decide to close up at 10pm on their own; either way, fix it so people don’t waste their time .. or better yet bring a company like Publix or Whole Foods that knows what they’re doing

I had such a great experience this morning in the seafood section at the Lombardy location near the VCU campus. The seafood was so well displayed, I wanted to buy everything just based on presentation. The display surpassed other Kroger seafood sections in the area. Kudos to the woman who assisted me with my crablegs and shrimp order which was packaged with such great care and for her presentation skills. I forgot to ask her for her name.

A very kind, young man named Solomon just helped me through the self checkout! He was very quick to respond and knowledgeable of your pricing protocol! Thanks Kroger for hiring people like that! He is excellent!

The increased surveillance at this location makes me feel really uncomfortable. If they have issues with people stealing maybe they should pair up with the community and local organizations to host a free food fridge out front.

If you close at 10, post it on Google AND YOUR OWN WEBSITE!! It already makes me mad this is the only Kroger in Richmond that doesn’t close at midnight, at least make your hours known.

No shopping carts. Gotta look for carts in the parking lots since the ones in the stores are all broken with the wheel not working.

Always out of standard produce items. This place is so poorly managed. I go out of my way to shop elsewhere even though this is the most convenient grocery store for me. I mean look at these potted basil they have out!

Decent place, but if you shop here, I would recommend you buy dairy products (milk, cheese, etc.) somewhere else. They must store it badly because it always goes bad far before the sell by date. Other perishable groceries arent much better. I always try to avoid buying eggs or raw meat here because of the low shelf life when I get home compared to what it should be.

Checked out near close on Tues 7/14. Lane 27. Cashier: Anita. She was very friendly and helpful, to other customers and coworkers around us, and efficient, which is especially impressive considering it was almost close and were still in a pandemic. Unexpected and so appreciated. 5 stars for Anita!

All Krogers have the rotisserie chicken and bbq ribs, but Lombardy. I called the Deli to ask why and the lady hung up in my face.

There is one employee who handles the grocery carts that always has his mask under his chin which doesnt prevent the spread of Covid19. In spite of management asking him to wear the mask properly he refuses, obviously not caring if he infects the customers, many of whom are elderly. He may be young and not care but the management has the responsibility to make him follow Covid19 guidelines or fire him if he refuses. The strangest grocery store Ive ever been in. The aisles are wayyyyyy too long, store is poorly lit, and the checkout area has the worst bottleneck Ive ever seen! Never going back to this location!

The assistant manager Mike and his little Gestapo security guard are the best. After informing them I had breathing issues, I was run out of their store physically. Rather than deal with them on the spot I got my wife out of harms way. The manager was within a foot of my wife so I didnt want her catching anything from him. Worst experience Ive been involved in in many years.Since this has happened Kroger has been in contact. I will edit this with more info.Part 3So I go in and get the few items I need today just to try to test the waters a little bit and make sure whats going on over here I am confronted by the security guard after he passes me twice in the store knowing Im the only one in there without a mask on he decides to confront me at as Im leaving Im told by him to make sure I wear a mask the next time Im in even though his mask is under his nose, not on the tip of it but directly under it just above his lip.

Ms. Ella (Floral Department) is the best. She went above and beyond in making my bouquet and had such a sweet spirit. I would go to her for all my flower needs in the Richmond area. My cashier was also very friendly. I guess I went on a good day based on other reviews. I would definitely patronize the store again! Thank you Ms. Ella for my blue and white arrangement.

This has been my grocery store for 15 years even though it can get picked through. I just went in and was SO impressed with the remodel they did, wide isles and very well lit. I always feel well taken care of by the employees here.

Unprofessional staff. They dont ask you if you need help or how you are doing today. Only person who I came in contact with in the store was the Manager and his only question was Do you have a mask? I dont work there so no, I will not wear a mask. Im not a puppet. No OSHA regulation says I have to put one on and I am not an employee handling food so no health department regulation exists for me to wear one.

Stay away. The grossest store. Nasty employee attitudes and habits. Cant bag. Placed cilantro in a paper bag followed by 7 pounds of turkey. Destroyed the cilantro. Very rude cashier. Very rude bagger. Customers suck too.

My local Kroger is RAVISHING. I seriously cried after my Kroger experience. And no, they weren’t tears of sadness; they were of joy. I mean the store brand soda pop was literally melting my brain. I haven’t met a store manager THAT swell. He was kind, he was cool, he was brilliant. I could pick his brain for hours about deals on salami. All in all, a delight to shop there.

Google says they close at 11. Store info call line says midnight. Went at 10pm - employees said they were closed.

Bad food. Idk if they leave cold stuff out or what but most cold and dairy products go bad way b4 the expiration date. No customer service. Even tried pickup here and waited over an hour to get my groceries brought out.

Just run away... The Krogers in Cary town or Willow lawn are okay. Idk why Lombardy got rid of the half carts... Its a small store as it is, now everyone has enormous carts or a basket to maneuver. Its always a circus. The convenience is the only reason to shop here, but dealing with jerks is never convenient.

This Kroger is literally the worst Grocery store in all of Richmond as far as produce is concerned. It’s almost as if this Kroger gets the bottom of the barrel produce that all the other Kroger’s in Richmond turn down. Always moldy berries out on the shelf and even molded bread. It’s prob best to make the extra 2 mile trip to Cary Town if you want edible produce.

A majority of the employees are very rude. Every now and then you will get one who helps you out. Unless you plan your trip during the right time of day, they’ll be out of most produce.Most of the burden is actually just dealing with other customers or people who hang outside the store.Good luck finding a parking spot.Otherwise it’s a grocery store, as long as they have the basics, what more can you ask of them?

Swanky prices, decent selection, big bakery and big ice cream section, lots of frozen dinners, and alcohol. Symptoms of a supermarket next to a College. but if you look hard you can find items on Managers special over 70% off. Overall its too pricey for a thrifty person but If this place was a little cheaper Id shop here all the time.As far s the food goes most of the stuff Ive bought in this supermarket in general has been tasty and satisfying. The generic Kroger brand products in the store are pretty decent quality comparable to name brand stuff vs. other super markets which water down the quality. I particularly like the Kroger yogurts that they sell for. Delicious and nutritious.FOR MEN:To be honest my favorite thing about this place isnt the food at all. Its all the young college hotties you can find here on any day at any time. You must see it to believe it!

Like every other Kroger youve seen except in a busy area. Decent parking for where it is though.I saw a guy walking around with a rabbit which is enough to warrant 5 stars anyway.They dont have a food section of like buy in bulk/pay by the pound but their area where you buy pre prepared lunch/dinner food looked really nice!

Not the best Kroger Ive been to but certainly not the worst. Their produce section is very hit or miss and they dont have a lot of actual in person registers open at a time but its a solid grocery store and their sushi is pretty good.

The staff here is usually better than your average supermarket retail worker in regards to being helpful and curteous. Shopping at this Kroger has been easy for, bordering on pleasant. Their selection is about hat you’d expect from any big chain grocery store. Decent deals are offered on the daily. Occasionally, they have manager-level problems like running out of membership cards to sign up for.

I like shopping do much in Kroger, its the best place to find every thing with best services,best price ,best quality. When you reach Kroger they welcome you with a smile and you leave them with a smile. Kroger is the one and only one to find all what you need.

Please hire more people. Brandon checked me out and his line was pretty busy and he had absolutely NO help with bagging..he shouldnt have to scan the items then bag them. That holds up the line and Im sure its overwhelming to have people watching you bag when he could have started on the person behind me...understaffed but good prices...Brandon needs a raise since you guys have him doing two jobs .

Avoid this store at all costs. Its amazing to me the incompetence of the manager. How they still have a job is beyond me. Everything from first walking in and there being no carts (hand or push) at the entrance to checking out and upon not being offered a choice of bag and after asking for paper instead of plastic being rudely informed by the cashier that the ENTIRE store is out of paper bags. Beyond belief. Their prices are ridiculous. The majority of items i went there to get were out of stock for no explicable reason.An aggravating experience from beginning to end. A store run by morons. Avoid like the plague.

I. am hand I capped and I Ned a cart to mobile.After checking four I found they had added four more and was able to grab one. I really appreciate this.The store was reasonably clean and appears well stocked except for the JKroger brand oatmeal.This is the second time. I have had to buy the more expensive brand.There is plenty of parking and a ramp for wheelchairs as well. as restrooms.I had an issue with the set checkout but there was a clerk who came to my rescue.I was in and out in 10 .minutes

I love Kroger but I dislike this location. I feel that the store is always a mess. Boxes everywhere. In addition the last two times I have gone the power has gone out whether in the middle of a transaction or prior to me coming. In addition the lady at the self checkout was rude when i asked for assistance, she acted like she was extremely overwhelmed!!!

It’s a cashier that works there she is older her name is pat! She have a short Baltimore hair style She is very rude unpleasant and mean she was slamming my groceries down on the counter she didn’t even smile at the kids I’m new to Richmond I just moved here and I won’t be shopping here again!

Theyve got everything you need, and its all good stuff. theres plenty of self checkout, and its a great place to pop in for a few things. I only wish the parking lot was bigger

Spiced shrimp and deviled crabs. Carolina BBQ with slaw. So delicious, the deli have a lot of selections on everything.

With respect to other Kroger stores, this location does not stand out other than from their wider selection of organic and vegan foods. This being said they do keep up the store well and everything organized for the most part, just make sure anything you pick off the shelf is sealed before buying it.

Busy, busy place! Still my go-to Kroger even after receiving counterfeit money! Thankfully they immediately replaced it, no questions asked. Youll be waiting in line for money services most likely, only because there are too many customers for any clerk to keep up with, same for the cashiers. Overall, aside from the minimal space in the parking lot, great selection! When snow is predicted...you wont see any produce, bread, or milk here!

I love Kroger! Im a college student and I go here every week to buy groceries. There are a lot of items to choose from, but it is sometimes difficult to find something and it can be hard to locate an employee to help you. However, when you do find someone, they are typically very helpful.

Store associates were helpful and awesome. Parking lot is a nightmare. Manager working today was pretty rude actually when associates were just trying to help me. 7/10 would go again if in the area.

I went to buy bread as they were coming out of the oven. I wanted to buy six loaves, but I was told I had to place an order in advance in order to buy six loaves. The lady made me wait 45 minutes until I left and then she put the loaves out in the basket. I spoke to a manager... and he had no response.

I really do not like this Kroger. For one, the staff are very rude. I was going up to a self checkout register and a employee jumps right in front of me to buy a drink. This isnt the first time the staff there have been rude. Completely different at the Willow Lawn Kroger.

Its where I do most of my shopping because its close its convenient. But you have parking issues because its a college store. You also have vagrants outside hitting you up for money as soon as you get out of your car. There are certain times during the day or so crowded youre waiting in line for 10 minutes period and what Ive used the restroom facilities I found it to be deplorable. They do get a rush on their product but you would think they can keep their shelves stocked just from the years of experience theyve had their and the amount of traffic that good

Im always getting crablegs from this location however the guy with the green gauge earrings does NOT need to be in the seafood department this is the 2nd time he has messed my order up

I always dread going into this Kroger. It’s conveniently a few miles from where I live and I choose to travel the distance to Carytown or Henrico for groceries, but if I have an emergency need for something, I’ll stop into this location. I understand employees aren’t perfect and we all have bad days, but literally every time I’ve been in this specific store - the employees I’ve interacted with are just so rude, careless, and unprofessional. Customer service is nonexistent at this location.

I go to the store usually on the way to work to get items for breakfast, lunch and snacks. I have been to this store 4 times within the last 2 weeks. Each time I go, they have no fresh single serve bakery items. No donuts, bagels, muffins or anything in their single serve bakery case. When I asked an employee about it this morning, an employee in the bakery department placing items in the containers to put out on the tables, I was told I dont know. Really? Isnt it your job to make the donuts and other items?

This stores parking is challenging because of many impatient and discourteous drivers. Selection is average. Produce quality is below what I expect from Kroger. Aisles are cluttered with displays, piled-up boxes and often clerks re-stocking. There are two much cleaner, nicer and better organized Kroger stores about five minutes to the west.

Fine store, needs a bigger produce section, more locals (Billy Bread, Idle Hands baking company). My neighbors & I all live near this store but end up at the Carytown Kroger because it has a much larger produce selection and better bread options.

Soliciting is permitted at the doors and they swarmed me immediately. The parking lot is tight and frequently busy. In general its a busier Kroger, but a Kroger nonetheless so theres good things like quality produce, etc.

I completely loathe this location, from the panhandlers that reside outside of it to the lazy workers (some not all) on the inside. And please don’t need anything from the front service desk because you will be waiting over 20-30 minutes for simple tasks... if they haven’t closed it down early which they do often. Go to Aldi or Lidl save your money because this location is the worst

Awful store. Selection is good and produce is good but the staff is horrendous. Dude dropped my apples from 2 feet to the bottom of the bag and threw in the bread followed by a bag of rice. No common sense or care for customers purchase. Will NOT go back.

Half a star or none as a matter of - Imagine on a Saturday 3pm 1 Clerk working 1 register luckily had a bagger to assist with bagging groceries, but NO other registers open, except self checkout registers and this had more than 1 line around the aisle at self check out. sad manager not able to schedule dependable clerks. I hope Kroger management know many grocery stores are popping up Like - Whole Foods, Lidl, Aldi to name a few - even if this is my fav. store (Lombardy) I can easily travel to a different store, I feel as a convenience to me and the money I spend this store need to be more ready to make my shopping less of a hassle.

The Lombardy Store is convenient. I will admit its rare I dont find what I need. The employees are always friendly and will to help. I will admit the store is very clean considering the volume of traffic.

I would really give it 2.5 stars. First, the staff is extremely nice and friendly. They do a great job and I cant say enough good things about them.The down side is the parking lot is horrid. Horrible design, and just trying to navigate it is dangerous for cars and especially people on foot. This store has a very high volume of foot traffic as well, so lots of pedestrians and moving cars.The store can be extremely busy during certain times with rather long waits in line. I have seen the checkout lines going back into the isles many times. A lot of this is people can walk here, so they tend to shop a little at a time.If it were not for the staff and location, not sure how much I would go there, but there is nothing wrong with it, just a bit busy at times, and I would highly advise you walk if you can.

Friendly staff and clean store. Kroger offers everything you need. The deli food is fresh. The fruit and vegetables taste fresh. Clean store.

Service is awful and associates don’t seem to care about helping you find a certain item. I would prefer shopping at Lidl because customer service is 100x better and prices are lower. You can save about 20-30% of what you would typically spend here.

This store is crazy packed and the parking lot is danger but the shopping is good. The store either has what you need or you go to Willow-lawn or Carytown Kroger’s , for real. I just stop looking sometimes and just head to west, smh!

Well...its a grocery store in the middle of the city. You have students, and other citizens who dont seem to necessarily care about keeping their surroundings clean. You could blame the staff, but really how much can they do? Generally they are great....Not my favorite, but itll do.

Sun Hands by the Local Natives was playing the last time I went in, which is the only reason Im leaving this review. Its a Kroger, and pretty solid. The only actual grocery store within three miles in any direction.
