Trying out a new coffee shop today and I definitely picked the right place. I got a dirty pumpkin spice chai latte, an orange scone recommended by the staff, and a bagel sandwich. It’s a very cozy shop with chill music and kind staff. They even brought my drink and food to my table!The only note I really have is that the seating could be more comfy, every table is connected by a wooden bench and there are pillows to use, but I wouldn’t spend a long time sitting here for this reason.I will definitely be back to get a coffee and a scone in the future :)

Such an incredible neighborhood gem! Their coffee is amazing, not to mention their baked goods (especially the quiche), and the staff is beyond friendly and personable. They play a great variety of music if you want to stick around, but their location is prime for a scenic walk around Church Hill.

Love this place. Today was actually the first time Ive been since theyve fully re-opened the space and they are nice and busy! I really enjoy their coffee and love the ambiance of the space. Definitely a good spot to come to in the Church Hill area.

We are already big fans of Riverbend. We just moved to Church Hill and these folks are incredibly nice and have made us feel so welcome. Love the flavor of their espresso, great coffee and service every time. Happy for them and looking forward to their renovation, and having one of their amazing BLTs again.

Love the cold brew with coffee cubes! Really kind people work here plus it’s walking distance from all the church hill parks, etc. Definitely go here if you’re tryna support local and get a quality brew.

This is the cutest and friendliest coffeehouse Ive ever been to. The manager took the time to explain to us the differences between espresso, latte, americano, etc. She was very accommodating and offered to make revisions and add changes to our drinks to ensure we liked them. The coffee is also roasted in house, making it flavorful and ridiculously fresh.

Riverbend Coffee Company is a neighborhood shop in historic Church Hill surrounded by top restaurants and cafes. One block away is a top-rated pizzeria (8 1/2 Church Hill) and two blocks away are pies (Proper Pie Company).During the pandemic, Riverbend Coffee Company is doing takeout only. Masked, you can enter inside to order. Youll notice a large space with the tables pushed to the side. Bathrooms are still open for customers.The menu is large, but I went for the standard latte. It was well made and theres sugar products just off the bar. No simple syrup, but they have cane sugar.I also ordered the chocolate chip croissant and wow. It was HUGE and had the perfect ratio of chocolate chips to dough. It also was the perfect texture and not dry.

Love the freshly roasted coffee. Great vibe and natural light. Amanda is a wonderful host.

The eggs on the breakfast sandwiches appear to be and taste like they were reheated frozen eggs. The english muffin was chewy and tasted microwaved.The light roasted coffee was ok. But It tasted like it was flavored, however, I got the regular light roast.We were also disappointed to see the an employee handle cash right before handling our food with out changing his gloves.We dont plan on returning.

Absolutely FANTASTIC iced tea. Strong and not watered down and now Ill be broke from going to get iced tea several times a week :-) Their savory scones are also big and moist and delicious. Look forward to trying their other offerings!

This is one of those places that is very fine. It definitely feels like a place opened by an uninspired roaster and clueless owner(s). The food is fine and the environment is fine. The location is good since Church Hill doesnt have another coffee roaster (though there is good coffee to be found elsewhere nearby). The prices are...fine. The customer service is actually really good.What isnt fine is the coffee. Its...bad. These beans are subprime. Youre basically getting Starbucks middle-of-the-road coffee beans for a price that cant justify it. Ive not known any other Richmond Roastery to have so little knowledge behind where/when/how their beans are sourced. A roastery charging these prices should be proud of the product theyre sourcing and have these details on full display (as seen at every other roastery in the city). The roasting is definitely not detail-oriented as consistency is way off and the roastery heavily leans on flavorings to sell their product to other Church Hill residents.Im hoping the company can further elevate their product or at least match the pricing of whats currently available with what theyre selling.

One of the best coffee places. The coffee is from another world, is just amazing, and the lady that work there is jus amazing. The place is beautiful.

The staff here is polite enough until you order something on the menu they don’t want to make. Like I get working at a coffee shop can be arduous at times, but please refrain from showing active disdain to the customer when they order something you find difficult to make.So if you come here, be sure to order something real simple, because that’s all they can handle.

They roast their own beans and the Sumatra roast is awesome. Balanced, not too acidic or bitter. Great coffee shop, inviting atmosphere. Pies, scones, cookies all have a homemade-taste. Loved it. Friendly folks. Tasha is great!

One time a saw this dog sitting in front of Riverbend so I figured I had to go in and when I did I got the Church Hill blend which was great!! 5 star experience all around

The Italian panini was very yummy and benefited greatly from the use of fresh basil, but could be made even better with a low-moisture mozzarella. Coffee was decent 7/10

Great local coffee shop with friendly staff. I appreciate that they open at 6:30 because not all places are open that early when Im on my way to work. The light roast costa rican is my go to, and the sausage on their breakfast sandwiches has just the right amount of flavor and spiciness to it.

Nice place for a coffe stop, has limited breakfast sandwiches on offer but not much for veg/vegan options which would be fun. :-)

I recently moved to Church Hill, and out of the many little places serving up baked goods and coffee, this has become my fave. They are always open (stopped by early Christmas morning), always friendly, and they have a dog hitching post outside! I dont love their espresso drinks, but the regular coffee, especially the Church Hill blend, is excellent. All the food my friends and I have tried there has been tasty, as well. Love having them in the neighborhood!

Literally my favorite thing while visiting Richmond. The food is amazing. The coffee and tea is stellar. The selection is HUGE!!! And they are so nice and friendly. Def would come.back every chance I have.

I love how the latte here tastes earthy and not acidic. Also I wish I couldve read the cool books they have as atmosphere. Very good 5 star

I’m very sad to give this coffee shop one star. I have been coming here over and over again very happy with both my food and my service. But today the service of a single employee was outrageous. The young man refused to do even the basics of the order. I ordered several items. The same items I have been ordering every day for months. I was shocked by the man’s refusal to make my order. He was very rude and condescending. I had never dealt with him before and was shocked by his lack professionalism and attitude. I was the only one in line and yet he acted like I was inconveniencing him. I will never go back. They have lost a regular customer.

This place is in such a cute neighbourhood. The cafe is also super cute and was decorated up for the fall. The staff are super nice and the 80s playlist in the background was awesome! Only thing was the coffee was a bit weak but other than that this place is great!

The absolutely best lavender latte ever!!!! Add the honey as they suggest. Great people and place.

Crafting an espresso takes a little art, a little science. This place exceeds at neither. Cafe latte came out clearly over-extracted. A flavored espresso drink had some chunks in the milk. We were quite disappointed.

The coffee is great and the atmosphere is awesome. I was a little disappointed that the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel I got was premade. The egg was the spongey, frozen kind that youd find on a Starbucks sandwich or on a frozen breakfast sandwich. I wouldnt go back for the food but would for the coffee.
