Found this place on the fluke looking for some breakfast. I had the meat lovers omelet and it was delicious! I have found my new favorite breakfast spot. It was really busy when my aunt and I came in but the owner was working hard and made sure we were seated and taken care of. Definitely will be back!

This is a hidden gem, wrapped up as a neighborhood storefront. The key is high quality but traditional favorites. We had breakfast, huge portions, fresh ingredients really made for a great meal. This was complimented by friendly caring service. All and all a winning combination.

Great food and great atmosphere, place felt warm and welcoming even though we accidently popped in before they were open, and staff was lively and friendly. Very bright and happy, and the food was fantastic!

Maybe we hit on an off day, but the food was overpriced and mediocre.The waffles were thin and bland, worse than store bought frozen eggos. There is no coffee selection; just a pot of black that they can squirt a flavor into.Outdoor seating came with flies and rickety tables. We took our food to go rather than sit there any longer than we had to.The staff was kind and friendly; kudos to them.

But it has the two most important things we all look for in a restaurant: good food and good service. The Asian lady (owner?) who waits tables and sometimes cooks is a delight. Shes friendly, attentive, and luckily is very tolerant of children.

Great little breakfast place tucked away at a friendly neighborhood. Kind and fast service. Friendly staff to kids. Their omelettes are very filling and tasty. Do go when you are very hungry in the morning or after a 5k run.

Cafe McBride is my new favorite breakfast place in San Pablo. Denise gets excellent fresh local ingredients and cooks them perfectly. I love the meat & veggie omelette. They have good coffee too!

This little place came up on our usual search for breakfast places. this is a small place in an old building on McBride. Very plain. Dont be mislead. Both of our breakfasts came out quick and hot and that included the toast. Joes Special is loaded with ground beef and a fair amount of done - just - right very fresh spinach. The Denver omelet was pretty standard. Coffee was offered immediately when we came in as well as water. Good standard diner food with good service. We didnt do lunch so no knowledge there.

Awesome staff, very accommodating. If youre looking for a good breakfast in a family environment with no-frills, this is the place! (Try to come as early as possible, as there is not a lot of seating and it tends to get packed close to closing.)

Ive been meaning to try this cafe for years, but never found the time until today. The service was friendly and the food was amazing. I will be coming here more often.

The food was great. We had the #17 with French toast and scrambled eggs. We received the best service with that down home feel. The owner is friendly and kind, definitely service with a smile. I wish I lived nearby to eat here all the time! I cant wait to go back and try more items from the menu (cheeseburger is next).

Ill start on a positive note. The pancakes were the Bomb. Perfectly cooked. Really good quality bacon. Now for not so positive. I ordered a shortstack, eggs and bacon. My husband order 2 Egger w/grits and bacon and a side waffle. This took 45 minutes to be served. Im not sure if it was just a bad day, the cooked called off, but what ever happened, I was truly disappointed that although the wait staff appeared quite friendly, No one came to apologize for the delay. Only just before serving were we alerted that our food was on its way. This was our first visit. My husband wanted grits for breakfast. I googled where to get grits near by, this place popped up. We decided to give it a try. Examining the menu grits arent listed. I inquired with the wait staff and was told grits were available. I wish I had not, hubby was so disappointed. I tasted the grits and they tasted microwaved, and not thoroughly cooked. If its not what you do, dont do it. There was also some kind of hostile verbal exchange between employees in the kitchen that was quite noticeable to the patrons. A young woman I presume was in charged asked everyone to stop and take a deep breath, which seemed to regain some order. Im torn because those pancakes were DELICIOUS, but the wait and negative experience, Not sure if its worth it. Hence the 2 Stars.

Big portions and really liked the house shaped breakfast links.

This place is around the corner from my house and it is a great little diner to go to when I dont feel like cooking at home on the weekend. The new owners are doing an amazing job with the place and the food was tasty and cooked the way we asked. This is a small place sure but the size, the service and food make you feel like your just at a friends place for breakfast, or lunch, and you have your own private chef!

This is a neighborhood coffee shop/diner serving typical American breakfast and lunch foods. Food was good, busy, but not crowded, and quite reasonably priced.

The food is good and staff is very nice. They do need at least 1 more server when it gets busy but overall it was good.

I came in to town on business. Casually looking for a spot for breakfast, prior to my appointment, I found this place on the search results. I was greeted and offered a beverage. The service was good and the omelette tasted very fresh and home made. Overall, the place had a nice homeey feel to it. The little details like the large tea selection, the Bluetooth speaker pumping out soft jazz, and the nice pictures on the wall were what really made it a great place.Recommended!Note;Dont let the outside appearance sway your opinion. It is really good.

Classic cafe with great variety on the menu. My parents have been going here religiously. Beware, it is indeed addicting with the many different options, including breakfast served til closing at 3 p.m. doesnt get any better than that! I dont understand why reviewers are so critical with their ratings. Someone gave a 4 star rating yet had nothing negative to say. Its OK your business is unwelcome here anyway. Find another diner thats been open for 20+ years and has phenomenal service. A must see!
