Chesbro has an awesome selection and always has what I am looking for. Their guitar and bass selection is great and the prices are very reasonable.However, sometimes the staff is a little overwhelming. One of the dudes, Drew or something, is a know it all and somewhat condescending as if his opinion is the correct one. He also tries to convince you to buy other stuff you don’t want and it makes you want to just not buy anything.

I just don’t understand why the employees are in your face ALL the time. I walk in with my kids to look at instruments and the flipping employee (Andrew I think) won’t leave us alone and let us look around. The dude just tries to sell you stuff you don’t need. Like come on man stop being so pushy and leave us alone. Plus I’ve been doing some comparisons with prices online and Chesbros is overcharging so many of their instruments.Better train your employees, we aren’t ever coming back here. Do yourself a favor and go to Mikes Music for instruments

Andrew was very knowledgeable regarding every topic we inquired about! Our interaction was entertaining, enlightening, and educational.The music selection they have is surprisingly comprehensive for such a small store, and they have a good deal of variety when it comes to instruments as well.

I was looking for a 3/4 size guitar to learn on. Andrew Pingree was very helpful and knowledgeable as he demonstrated and showed me different brand name guitar choices and gave me time alone to try them out and make my own decision without any high pressure guidance. The Rexburg store had a bigger selection of the 3/4 size than any other store I had been to. Chesbro-Rexburg and Andrew have earned 5 stars in my book!

Very helpful, informative, and friendly staff. Provided great information on guitar woods, shapes, acoustics and advice on choosing a guitar to fit the player. They carry excellent Hercules guitar stands. Stop in and check them out!

Love this place! Needed my string fixed and the guy there fixed it very quickly and had suggested to clean my fret board. I had never done that before so he gave me a quick tutorial which was on my own guitar and it looked like a brand new guitar and played smoother than I can remember. I didnt know putting guitar oil stuff would make my guitar feel brand new?!... and Ive been playing for a while.

I love this place. And I love the family-friendly Open Mic night. It is so amazng and real and personal to be part of the experience, both as a performer and as part of the audience.

Great store in the Rexburg area if you’re looking for music and musical related quandaries. The Manager really knows his Guitars and other instruments. He may act like a know it all sometimes but I’d rather have someone who knows it all rather than someone who doesn’t. there’s only one other employee though and sometimes when the store is packed it can get a bit frazzled, They do try there best to get everyone taken care of though.Last but not least if your looking for quality instruments or help with instrument care there’s no better location then them.

This new management at Chesbros is excellent! I believe they work hard to give the best customer service that they can. They have a great variety of music, instruments, and accessories, and they go out of their way to be sure you are taken care of. I have shopped there for years and will continue to for many more. If they dont have it, they will find it for you!

This was my first experience walking into a music store and I was very happy with my experience. I described what I wanted and they were able to help me out in every way. Really good deals which is why I continue to go back for what I need. since then, Ive been to another music store in Rexburg just to see what it was about and quickly realized that I prefer Chesbros.

I always enjoy shopping at Chesbro Music in Rexburg. They are very helpful in answering my questions and in directing me to the right display of the music books that I want. Their selection of piano music and voice music is excellent and it is fun to browse through all their offerings.

Changed my review since the management change. I am now the guitar tech at Mikes Music. The new management is really great and have come sent people to us and we like to refer people to them. Each has their strength and we can help each other. Thanks for the new management. They are doing a great job!

Chesbro is a great place to find anything you would need as a musician. They have great products and are always helpful and friendly if you ever need assistance finding anything.

Horrible experience. I ended up walking out of there without buying what I needed because I was so annoyed by the experience. I was either ignored or treated like I didn’t know anything. Guy wouldnt let me finish a sentence without cutting me off and treating me like an idiot. Im a touring musician. Will NEVER go back.

This place is completely mediocre. Seemed overpriced on most of their items. Workers were alright. I wouldn’t recommend going there, you’d be better of at even a pawn shop that sells music equipment.

Honestly I see why there are so many bad reviews.. I came in here the other day and it was just awful. Definitely not even close to as nice as the Chesbros in Idaho Falls. The customer service was bad, I’ve seen better from them before. The guy at the counter acts like a Know-It-All though when it comes to guitars, it’s kind of annoying. Besides that the location is nice and they have great instruments but bad prices! 👎🏽

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very competitive prices as well. They went above and beyond to get a particular keyboard for us just in time for Christmas.

This place is your go to! they have anything you will need for a music or band class and at cheaper prices! i bought my wifes piano here and we had such a great deal! we are going back for a guitar! they are very honest and real. they hit you up with the straight facts so you can narrow down what you want to buy. and the prices are hard to beat!

The help was very limited and knowledge of electronics was a 2 or 3 out of a possible 10.No help whatsoever in the percussion section! Rated: poor... online music shopping makes sense

Perfectly located swinging through town for out-of-towner like me. Impromptu mandolin string emergency on vacation and they came through with spare sets! Super friendly and helpful gal at counter (obviously, as a violist). Total thumbs up.

Heres another one so Im having a hard time finding strains for my dulcimer to walk about dulcimer a rare instrument and Michael not only finds a strings put some on but he puts oil on my instrument and absolutely breathe new life into this thing again its never just what you asked him he always does extra thanks again Michael very much appreciate my dulcimers never looked or sounded so good

Chesbro in Rexburg is simply the best! I have been to dozens of music stores throughout the country, and the customer service rendered by Michael and his staff is second to none. He is very knowledgable and courteous. Not only that, but the inventory is quite extensive for a music store of its size. Rexburg is incredibly lucky to have Chesbro and its staff around. I look forward to purchasing more from them in the future! I highly recommend!

It smells weird in there

I have heard much about this place and was excited to check it out. Was very disappointed with the prices and materials that they had. I wish Rexburg had a guitar center; so until then I guess I’ll just shop here? Unless anyone knows of other music places I could go to? They’re not better than Mike’s Music.

Whenever I visit Rexburg, Chesbro is my first stop. I live in Teton Valley and have been playing music for over 50 years.It’s always fun and easy to play the guitars and use their amps. I have purchase Taylor guitars from the Idaho Falls store and discovered the Rexburg store.The gent in charge, Michael Bates ( hope that’s his last name) has the same passion as I do in playing guitars.He helped me maintain my Taylor guitars, and purchase a wonderful sound system, easy to carry for various gigs I have in Teton Valley.After purchasing a baritone ukulele and a Teton classical guitar from Michael. I then received a letter from the president of Chesbro, Tana Jane Stahn, thanking for the above purchases.That has never happened to me in the 50 years as a musician and I can’t help but think Michael B. Had something to do with that.I am so grateful and happy to have Chesbro Music Co. And it’s knowledgeable staff in rural Idaho.Lina Marquis

I have shopped at Chesbro for decades. They are the premier music store here in Rexburg.

I went to mikes because of the reviews stating price but i am telling you is is dead wrong the items i bought at mikes were $5 to $10 more expensive. Not to add that i thought that the Employees at Chesbro was way way way more friendly. i have fount the store for me in this small town. we will be returning customers for the time i am here for school.
