I havent really played my guitar for about 5 years. I started a job in a skilled nursing facility as an activity assistant and thought the resident would like to hear some music. When I got my guitar and strummed it, it was all out of wack. Buzzes everywhere on the fret board, so I installed new strings and lost a bridge pin in the process. I was really sad because the buzz on the bottom E 2nd and 3rd fret made my guitar simply unplayable.I called Ian at Herried Music and he told me to bring it down. Now Ive been out of work for some time so money was a big issue.Ian said he wanted my guitar to be ready to play for the residents I work for, and thats just what he made happen.Ian and the folks at Herried Music go above and beyond to help out folks down on their luck and it really lifted my spirits when he adjusted the neck and had my guitar singing like the angels.Ive only ever been to Herried and the last time before just recently, it had been almost 10 years since Ive been in.I will only ever go to this music shop, for one reason and one reason only. Theyre there to help people make music.Stop by and check out their insane stock of guitars, basses, drumsets, the whole 9. If it makes music, chances are these guys have it.Thank you again Ian. Hell of selection for a little shop! Ive had work done on my guitars 5+ times here and Im always blown away by my total, they do extraordinary work for crazy low prices (like I feel borderline guilty paying $0.21 for the guy to fix my amp-jack). Keep those dollars local and spend a few at Herreid. You really wont regret it. Buy a guitar there and they will take care of you and your instrument for damn sure. Oh, they also have drums and violins and harmonicas and other lovely music makers too...

Came asking for mechanical help with my electric. They were too busy to take it but gave tons of advice for what to do on my own. Even told me where else to go when they didnt have an Item I wanted...super genuine, knowledgeable, and friendly.

Honestly I received a wonderful service. They were super friendly and got my needs taken care of. They suggested the best way to go about the problems and have a good price! The environment in the store is fantastic. Honestly would reccomend to any music enthusiast. Great job!

As a walk-in, I brought in my very old classical acoustic to be re-strung. Not only did they re-string it the same day for CHEAP....they cleaned and polished it at no additional cost. I honestly thought they were trying to give me someone elses guitar accidentally. I could not believe how beautiful it was. They WAY under charge for this service. Customer service was the best Ive encountered in quite a long time.

Classical Augustine guitar strings are not sold here.

One of the best music shops here in redding. Great staff and a plethora of instruments, parts, and little gag instruments. They have most everything you would need to operate string, percussion, and piano/keyboard instruments from strings, to snares, to basically anything. Not to mention the wonderful repair program and the extremely knowledgeable staff. Go here for routine repairs, to even a Christmas gift. They really have it all. 10/10 would recommend, and I would give it 6 stars if I could.

I like Herreid Music. Not a big store with big selection but they are helpful to me and generally try to compete with the big stores the best they can. I believe it is important to have small local music shop in a community. We are fortunate and have 4, that I know about.

Went in for a tuner and the guy was super nice and helped me pick one that I wouldnt have picked on my own but now I love. He just listened to what I wanted and helped me make an informed choice. Thats the essence of what you want in a music store.

This is a wonderful place to do business. There is no pressure to buy and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I was having a tough time making a decision on guitars and the owner, Rich, put me in a room by myself for 45 minutes with my selections so that I could concentrate and take time in making my decision. The atmosphere is relaxing and there is a lot of stock to choose from. This is a first class operation. I will be making future purchases from Herreid Music.

I bought a 7 string schecter deluxe from them and the clerk helped me out with some deals on some pedals and cables at the time of purchase.Great selection, classes available for a variety of instruments and knowledgeable staff. I go here for pedals and guitar stuff all the time or sometimes just to jam and try out new products. I really like this place

The staff was very friendly and helpful! I felt at home to shop there. I played ukulele a few years ago and it was like my therapy in a dark time. It helped me find my singing voice and singing helped me battle an annoying asthma condition. It was a match made in heaven until one day after my first open mic performance which surprisingly went very well, my ukulele was stolen and I havent played since because I was really attached to the sound of that one I had and thought it was a harsh sign from the universe to move on. (*sigh) I tried to move on from playing but I just miss it so much! Herrieds has a fantastic selection of ukuleles and I found a new ukulele with the beautiful sound I was looking for. Thank you!! I will be back for all my other musical instrument needs!

Bought my first guitar here for just over $200. It was a starter package that came with a bag, free Fender lessons from the app, and even 2 free guitar lessons from one of their teachers. The man selling me the guitar was knowledgeable and did not try to upsell me anything I didnt need to get started. Very satisfied.

The employees here have been working here for as long as I can remember so its always nice to see familiar faces when I swing through. They are very good at what they do and are very knowledgeable about their products. Its always been a very clean and organized environment. It is my favorite place to be. Always

Staff was very helpful and personable. I brought in a dusty old acoustic for a string change, and they polished the body, conditioned the fretboard and changed the strings for a super good price; which included the pack of strings. I showed up at the time I was told they would call, and they had the guitar on the front desk, getting ready to call me, right on time. Definitely going to be coming to these guys for anything I need for my instruments in Redding.

I wanted to learn Guitar and my high school teacher recommended Dan Frost. Dan was professional but not uptight and textbook as i thought all teachers regardless of what they teach were. He was pretty chill and fun to hang out with and he was good at teaching new songs and styles. Not only did he teach me how to play and string my guitar but he also told me how electric guitars work and the historys of bands i was interested in. If your around redding and want to learn guitar i suggest setting up an appointment with him.

Called in, and the person I talked to was nice untill I met the man at the counter. He was preoccupied with putting new strings on. Breathing a hard sie when I ask for what I called and came in for . I dont live in Redding and have to drive far to get things I was irritated that he was trying to get me to go by saying their all different and the hardware store would have it which is a good idea but he simply didnt want to help.

Rich was working we rolled in at about 5:50pm they closed at 6pm he stayed open for us waited for me to pick out a a ukelele went out of his way to get me a mandolin out of the back told me to take my time really made me feel like shopping there for more instruments!

I walked in with a question about my 1922 Martin guitar thinking they could possibly assist me in finding someone who could repair this classic. The guy whom I spoke to (name unknown) was not only disinterested but practically blew me off. What a waste of time..Never again will I set foot in the that store. Talk about crappy customer service !! WOW ...
