I had a sudden issue that came up with my vision and had no eye doctor in the area. Google let me to Dr. Shurminsky. I had nothing less than an excellent experience from start to finish. His staff was lovely, his facility was welcoming and clean. Dr. S listened carefully to me and took some pictures of the interior of my eye. He suspected that I had a tear in my rentina, which is very serious. Dr. S was short staffed yet made sure that he sat with me until we had booked an appointment with a surgeron that could see me within 24 hours. The surgeon he recommended was skilled and I had a good experience with him also. Thanks so much, Dr. Shurminsky, for seeing me and making sure I got excellent follow-up care quickly.

He’s great. I got my eye prescription corrected, got new contact lenses. My eyes are not tired anymore!! It’s a bit difficult to make an appointment, but it’s worth it

Waiting time usually less than 10 minutes. Hes very friendly, easy to talk to and explains in detail whats going on with your eyes. Likes that he gives you choices when trying to resolve a problem or choosing type of contact lenses.

Personable and knowledgeable. Decent fashionable selection of frames for men. Waiting room is small but the examination rooms are large and modern. Overall great experience. Def coming back to him for my next pair.

I do not recommend this site or this optometrist at all, in the consultation they were more interested in selling me whatever, than in the revision of my eyes. a lot of selling pressure, everything is quite uncomfortable and the optometrist should be a seller instead of seeing the eyes, since he is more interested in selling. Honestly if you want to check your vision I do not recommend this place at all, now if you want to try to sell everything they have there, it is the right place.

I have been going to Dr. Shurminsky for many years. I like that he takes the time to explain everything, never rushes the visit. He also does not try to push any products that you do not want/need. Staff is also friendly.

Dr. Shurminsky is great! I feel the focus is only on me when I go in for my appointment, he thoroughly explains everything to me including pricing. I get my contacts 3 days after ordering and the doctor takes the time out of his day to speak with me on the phone to make sure Im comfortable in the contacts he had given me. The staff is excellent and friendly as well.

Dr. Shurminsky is great! I feel the focus is only on me when I go in for my appointment, he thoroughly explains everything to me. I switch over fromGlasses to contacts and he did a trial with me even trained me in how to pop them in and out. I have been going to him for the last 6 years

Dr. Shurminski took me at the last minute even though he was all booked up . He spent his lunch time to accommodate my emergency visit to see me for a serious problem that developed in the last few days. Hes very helpful and took his time to accommodate my needs which was actively deteriorting vision.

Dr. Shurminsky should do a little more doctoring and a LOT less selling.I had my appointment there for the first time, and was appalled by how much selling pressure this doctor was doing PREVIOUS to my actual eye exam. He really does try to sell you on stuff and completely devalues his practice by doing so.Upon rejection of his sale, he was visibly upset which made me very uncomfortable for the eye exam. Also, doctor removed my old contacts with his own fingers without warning. Felt a little grossed out since he had spent 15 minutes prior trying to sell me on product i did not want ,touching papers, sitting stool and whatnot, then my eyes.... ugh.Office is old fashioned, and the main examination chair is broken so kind of uncomfortable for the patients.I will not return, based only on the hard sell tactics.

I went to Dr. Shurminskys office about a year ago because of headaches and strain on my eyes. The Dr felt that the best option for me was bifocals, that it would help with the transitioning issue as he described, that I was having. While preparing my glasses order, it felt as if the Dr and the assistant were just adding on the costs without asking me if I wanted them or explaining whether or not I needed the added costs. Had I not stopped them and questioned every add on and the necessity of each, I would have left there with an easy $600+ bill instead of a $400 bill .However, thats not the worst part.Despite the fact that the Dr explained to me that I would struggle at first with bifocals because there is an adjustment period, I was never able to get used to them. He even encouraged me to use them as much as possible. Well, I did and some days it seemed as if it was making the headaches even worse! I even began to feel nauseous and vomit at times because of how bad the headaches were. I knew they were from the glasses because I found myself squinting both with and without the glasses. So I decided to get a second and third opinion. Both of the Drs I visited said the same thing, I did not need bifocals and that the prescription I was given was too strong. Both of them also told me that not only would the bifocals not help me but that they could do more damage! Additionally, both Drs only prescribed me a light prescription for a pair of reading glasses.When I left the office the day he prescribed me the bifocals, I couldnt help but think my bill was too high. But my headaches were so bad, that I trusted in the Drs experience, analysis and prescription, in hopes that my headaches would get better. But now hearing from not one, but two Drs that the prescription was wrong and that I do not need bifocals, I believe that this Drs priority is in the business of just making money rather than helping his patients! The money doesnt even compare to the fact that the bifocals that he said that I needed could have done serious damage to my vision!! Luckily I trusted my instincts and stopped using the bifocals and consulted with two other Drs!Even giving him one star is too much in my opinion! If you cherish your eyesight DO NOT VISIT THIS DR!
