Ive used this little hardware store for decades! So much quicker to just run up the street to a local business than to one of the big box stores. They have an amazing assortment tucked into such a small space and they have knowledgeable sales people. I really do recommend them.

Knowledgeable staff, great old style hardware store that you dont have to walk a mile to find your next item. Many prices are actually (and substantially) lower than Lowes and HD. I just wish more of them, but that would probably ruin the culture.

Went here the other day while camping at the fairgrounds is the fairgrounds to get a really good AA really good a frame ladder and they had an even better one and they had and even better 1 than I was expecting, The young man at the front counter was incredibly attentive and helpful, If youre definitely anywhere near the state fairgrounds or if youre like me and are or if youre like me and are camping there and you need anything you need any type of last minute supplies I would eyes I would definitely check them out

This is an amazing place. They literally have everything and the staff is super knowledgeable about EVERYTHING. If you want that hometown hardware store experience check em out. Also, they refill propane tanks at a very reasonable price.

Customer service is great. I looked for a part for a portable dishwasher attachment in other stores for a day and in 10 minutes they found what I needed in their plumbing section. Job well done.

Burke Brothers Hardware is old school as they come. I always enjoy going in the store. It is incredibly stocked to the roof literally.If you cant find it there you didnt need it. The people that work there are very attentive and if you are in the store more than 2 minutes and someone has not approached you you would feel something is wrong. Customer service I believe should be their moto if it isnt already. And I have never asked a question they could not answer.Please support this local gem!Highly recommended 👌!

Burke Bros is THE showcase for hardware stores of the past. If youre into this stuff, youll be engaged in exploring all nooks and crannies. If you just need that one little obscure widget, their staff are waiting to escort you directly to it. They are knowledgeable to make substitute or best recommendations to your request. Need a greeting card, jar of jam or a drink? Yes, they have some of those too! So glad I live right around the corner!

I was headed to Fastenal and saw this place as I was headed there. Fastenal was closed so stopped by Burke Brothers hoping they would have what I needed, some offsized bolts. Wow, they had all of it plus more. The staff was super friendly. The gentleman that helped me, completely stopped what he was doing to help me find the right sized bolts, nuts and spacers. Appreciate the help and will definitely come back here.

Bought a gorgeous petunia recently. The plants are well kept and healthy, owner very knowledgeable and prices reasonable.

Great selection of hardware, some things are a little pricey but its worth it to support local business. Love the shop cat.Closed by surprise on a day I really needed them to be open. Sat for a little bit and watched a dozen customers turn away. Thats not how you do business. Google lets you change your open/closed status at any time and you should use that feature.

I picked up a couple amazon packages delivered through the Amazon Hub Locker. The staff was friendly and professional. I also realized they refill propane tanks at better prices than their competition.

If these guys dont have what youre looking for, you may as well just stop looking! Never left without what I needed. Great people, great service.

I have been going to Burke Brothers since first moving to Raleigh nearly 12 years ago. Repeatedly, they are the nicest, most helpful store and have helped me on so many projects... from when working at the vet school, to when I needed a special crowbar to be modified for a craft show we were doing at the fairgrounds, to just helping me get the right supplies for home and work projects.My parents still rave at how much they love Burke Brothers and wish they had one in TN. I am so grateful to live so close to a neighborhood store that cares so much about their community. ❤❤❤

The selection and prices are great. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful. However there are a few old school men that claim to be gentleman that only ask women if they need help or dont allow women to lift anything. Keep the charm and lose the sexism please.

How thrilled I was to discover an old-fashioned hardware store in Raleigh. It’s fun just to go there and poke around, but they are also a wonderful treasure when you need something. The staff is always helpful, and make it really fun to shop there. I hope they remain in business forever. Warning, however, if you take a handyman in there, he may want to spend hours in the store.

Probably the most convenient shop Ive ever stumbled upon. They have everything single little thing i could possibly need to fix and repair my house.. perfectly organized areas in the store for just about everything a handyman could ask for. And the employees are some of the most helpful knowledgeable people Ive talked to in Raleigh. Great store overall!

Been shopping here monthly for a decade to support local small business’. Today I was turned away for a mask requirement. Goodbye.....When we lay down, scared of being fined or cited with a rule that breaks our Constitutional Rights; that is when we lose what we’ve built and the ability to do business in order to feed our families. We all have a line in the sand that is our breaking point as to what we will “put up” with; apparently covering my face while i conduct business is where i drew my line.

Overall a great general hardware store. I am not sure about some other reviews but I believe I spoke with the owner in previous interactions. My experiences have been very positive in the store. Obviously being a small local shop they dont have all the stuff a big box store supplies. If youre in need for good advice and friendly customer service I would recommend it. I try to find items at Burke if possible but again they cant stock everything. In every case an employee approached me politely after a few minutes of looking around to point me to the right direction (even if that meant going somewhere else). Its rare in a retail environment you get personal attention and honesty.I would say Ive been in Burke Bros 20-30 times over the years and have never had a bad interaction like some of the other reviews mentioned. Based on my experience that seems out of character for this business.Overall Burke Bros has a friendly, knowledge, and honest staff. I would highly recommend stopping by. Im only giving 4 out of 5 bc of specialty type selection. Not service related at all.Also they have the best propane prices in town. They will fill your tank 100% and charge less than big box or anywhere else. Hank Hill would be proud to shop here.

Have had nothing but positive interactions with the Burke team the times I have been into the store. They dont have everything the big box stores have, but I dont need everything the big box stores have. With MAP (minimum advertised price) schemes, many of the prices are the same as online or big box stores. It really does come down to service in most cases, and the service here never fails.(On a side note, I noticed that three of the 1-star reviews were all left within days of each other and all three are lucid and well-written... something you dont normally see from someone who only has a single review on Google. It seriously makes me think all three were written by the same person.)

This is an old-school hardware store at its finest. If you miss the days of going to a store with knowledgeable people then this is where you need to go. Im sure that you can find more stuff and you can find it cheaper at your local big box store, but I would much rather shop here than at one of those places.

They stock some of the highest quality tools Ive seen in any hardware store, especially their axes. Way WAY better than the big box garbage. They had Council Tools (USA made) Velvicut axes in stock. Absolutely beautiful and will last three lifetimes. Great store and very friendly, helpful people.

If you want expert advice and the right parts the first time come here. There is hardly any wait for staff and they treat women as capable as men. May cost a little more but not really with your time and buying the right thing the first tine.

I just bought one of the condos in Driftwood Manor and was serious about doing repairs, painting, improvements myself, a 40+ year old woman with very few skills in DIY work. Every single person at Burke Brothers is helpful and knowledgeable and friendly. I try to be business-like and not waste their time, but even so they have given me a lot of advice and suggestions. They also know all the local businesses that you usually need for home repair stuff, and they have given me some great recommendations for plumbing, etc. Their prices are usually competitive, though not always. But their advice and expertise put them miles ahead of the *big box* home improvement stores. It is nice to go to a store *where everybody knows your name.* This note: They are not open on Sundays and close at 6:00 every other day of the week, including Saturday.

Every time I walk in they ask me what I need, I tell them, then they take me to where I need to go in the store and assist me purchase whatever I need for my current project. Cant recommend enough.
